Tanizaki Siblings

Alright, hear me out on this, when I find official arts VERY creepy, they are always about Tanizaki siblings. And it’s creeping me out. There is something wrong about them. Also, that ‘something’ I’m talking about is not incest, it’s something that’s not clear but surely creepy.

This official art has attract my attention a lot. Heels? Foots? Tanizaki siblings? What exactly foots and heels have to do with Tanizaki siblings..? Also, that flower. At first, I thought it was “Clematis Belle of Woking” but I couldn’t find the meaning of it anywhere.

So now that I think about it, it might be

“White Chrysanthemum”

Japanese meaning of it is “truth” or “grief” and it’s the most common flower for funerals. Western meaning is “death” and “grief”

...You see where I’m going?

Alright, now, hear me out on this. If you are not new in this fandom, I’m pretty sure that you’ve heard the “Naomi is dead” theory. When I first saw that theory, I thought that people were overthinking about them. But now that I think about it,

It might actually be canon.

Because it makes sense.

In this official art, Naomi’s eyes are closed and Tanizaki is looking at us while touching/holding his sister’s hair. Also, I don’t know if it’s just me but Tanizaki looks like he can snap any moment. To me, he doesn’t really look sane here... There are also heels and foots, for some reason.

The top left corner of this art is dark and the bottom right corner of it is light. It reminds me of death and life. And on the border of these two, there is this flower,

“White Chrysanthemum”

which means ‘truth’ and ‘grief’ and ‘death’.

Naomi is facing the dark side of this art, with her eyes closed. I don’t know if it’s just me, but to me she looks like she is about to fade out. Tanizaki is holding her hair, as if he haven’t given up on his sister yet.

There are also heels and foots on the border of the dark and light side of this art.

So I looked it up what heels and foots symbolizes and I learned that the feet symbolise aspects of soul.

The foot without a shoe is a disembodied soul.

This official art is basically shouting that Naomi is dead.

Like, there is no other explanation of it.

In this official art, Tanizaki is in his school uniform (this official art is about their past) smelling Naomi’s hair while Naomi is lying on him with her eyes closed. There are also books.

And in this official art Tanizaki is in his school uniform (this one is too), holding Naomi’s hands as if he is trying to stop her from drowning. Also, the leaves are falling.

Tanizaki doesn’t accept the truth. He doesn’t accept the fact that she is dead.

If this theory is true, then it would explain everything.

The reason why Tanizaki is not only overprotective, but also obsessed with his sister. It’s because he has lost Naomi before, and he doesn’t want it to happen again.

The reason why Naomi is always wearing her school uniform even though she doesn’t go to school anymore. It’s because the moment she died, she was wearing her school uniform.

The reason why she survived THAT. It’s because she isn’t alive. Nobody can kill a person who is already dead.

The reason why Kunikida didn’t say anything about Naomi. It’s because a dead person can’t be treated.

The reason why Naomi hasn’t appeared since chapter 56. The last panel she appeared was from Ranpo’s memory.

In BSD, abilities are named after the author’s books. Naomi is already dead, and the reason why people still see her is because Tanizaki is using his ability. Naomi is an illusion of a dead person.

And this official art is basically explaining what is happening right now.

Tanizaki doesn’t accept the truth. He is denying the reality. He is denying the fact that Naomi is dead.
