A month ago i got an injury that imposed me to stay in bed at least two weeks. In that time, i mostly played videogames. From ‘Dark Souls’ to ‘Binding of Isaac’, passing by every RPG Maker game, i decided to start my solo PC game project, to develop during the time i do not work on retrogames stuff. This is where i am now, i still don’t know shit about anything, i don’t even have a title right now, but i’m having a lot of fun and i really love the double joystick hack and slash mechanic. I'm pretty turbulent and troubled lately, and there are really few things that can calm me for a little moment, enough to bring new energy in and be back into living mode. One of those i've discovered lately, is drawing with a fine liner marker, a very thin one. In 4 days I will open the pre-orders of Plaguemon Kado, and I am no longer in the skin. This time no presentation in Tokyo (even if you want, I don't think you can go, and in any case the first time I had the tickets months before), nor a mini-documentary on Vice, a few if some interviews and a really mysterious logbook (I don't have shared practically nothing), I didn't really swab any journalist friends for this launch, nothing. Maybe a small online event on launch day. This title comes out quietly, as if it were more intimate. Developed entirely during the Sars 2.0 pandemic, and being a spin-off, as opposed to Plaguemon which mostly took place "outside the body", talking about nuclear and environmental disasters, this journey will take place more inside of us, swinging between the dark sides of the psyche and the torpor of the subconscious. I would like to explain more, but after all this work, every single spoiler would be absurd. The pre-order opening time is 2:30 pm on Thursday, I will ship shortly thereafter and I can't wait to hear the first opinions of my latest huge effort. Making such deep rom-hacks is really devastating, just think that at the time immense teams worked on it, salaried by Nintendo. In my case, however, it will be foolish to repeat it, but everything in development is supported by me. No simplified engines, just lots of Assembly, hex editing and old-fashioned pixel art. Among other things, it is the first ever total Pokemon TCG hack, so it goes without saying that the documentation is very scarce. I hope you will appreciate my vision, that this dream universe can accompany you for hours in which you can relax and have fun, but also reflect and dream. Mewtated appreciation post. Made one of his cards in Plaguemon Kado and drawn the actual proxy. I took this occasion to do a reskin of him. I always really enjoyed that i mixed Mewtwo and Alien to make Mewtated, but i wanted to add/keep the cat ears. Made tons of sketches to balance alien head and cat ears, but i think i’ve did my best.
