If you're ever going through someone's bookmarks on AO3 and they have made a bookmark being extremely negative about a fic, know that person is not a good person.

If it's a public bookmark, the writer of the fic will see that, but they can do NOTHING about it. They can't delete it, can't comment on it, can't make it private, can't ask AO3 to remove it.

Extremely negative public bookmarks are a form of harassment and are often used in combination with other methods to try to destroy a writer's self-esteem and fun. People leave AO3 and even stop writing fic altogether because of these forms of unaddressed harassment.
