this is chapter one of what was my “would’ve been” fanfic if i didn’t give up on it haha

but srsly if you guys like it enough i might continue it. 

Chapter One

Saturday March 2nd, 2019. 

I look at the canvas in front of me, wishing it would fill itself. I don't even know what to create out of it, which medium to use, or even in which style. Throughout this entire time I can’t even remember the assignment requirements. I sigh and pick up the instructions. Again. 

“Show me what’s important to you. It can be anything you want, but I want to see the significance of it, the passion behind it. Can be in any style and with any medium of your choosing. We will discuss the grading rubric in class. Due date: Friday, March 29, 2019. Good luck!”

Something significant to me? What the hell would that even be? In any style and medium of my choosing. I pace around my room, narrowing it down. This grade seems to be worth a lot, it has to be good. Frustrated, I decided to turn on some music. Scrolling through my playlists, I realized none of them seem fit. Why does everything feel so out of place?

I need to smoke, maybe that would help. I walk to my drawers to go through my..stash…of sorts only to realize I am completely out of EVERYTHING.

“What the FUCK.”, I yell. Just then I regret it, thinking to myself, “Mom and Dad are home. If they heard me, they’ll have my head for sure..”. Then I hear footsteps, and brace for the bursting into my room demanding to know why I used such “vulgar language”. The more I listen to the footsteps, the more I calm down. 

There’s more than two pairs of feet, obviously a conglomeration of them, and they don’t sound angry either. Then I realize - it’s my brother with our best friends trailing behind him. Then, a couple quick knocks come from the other side of the door.
