| confessions, season 1, that space chicken nugget run episode where they tell Omega to stay behind, pre Tantiss, insecurity, self-doubt, SFW | 1,447 words

To stay with Omega on Ord Mantell was Elara’s decision. She felt for the girl, hoping that her willing to stay too might brighten Omega’s attitude.
It did not.
What did, however, was earning some money by playing the little strategy game in the center of Cid’s parlor. Elara watched from afar, carefully watching the patrons that slowly crowded the game. Cid came to her side and patted Elara’s shoulder. “Lighten up, Gray. The kid’s doing fine.”
Elara glanced at Cid, slightly annoyed by the nickname but sighed softly through her nose and relaxed her shoulders. “I know.”
“Here,” Cid reached over the bar and pulled out a glass along with a thin bottle. “One on the house,” she chuckled as she poured.
Elara took the drink with a half smile, taking a deep breath as her eyes looked back to Omega. Cid was right, Omega will be fine. She seemed happy, too.
The next few rotations were the same, but the crowd got bigger. By the third rotation, Cid’s parlor was just barely containing its patrons. Omega certainly had a knack for this strategy game and despite some of the shadier folk in the crowd, Elara had made a few acquaintances. One particular woman, a Twi’lek, worked a small food stand in the plaza. Despite the friendly faces, she found herself thinking back to the rouge clones.
Especially Wrecker. When she met him while on a mission to rescue a manticore pup she did not expect her heart to take the lead. While her Jedi ways were considered a threat, she fought her affection for some time before coming to terms that she was living in a different time now.
As her mind kept thinking about Wrecker, Elara’s eyes never strayed far from Omega. She stayed seated on one of the stools at the bar, making light conversation with the patrons that waited on their drinks or food. They never stayed long, which she was fine with. As she continued to watch Omega win again, Elara brought her drink to her lips and glanced down to find it empty.
“Can I buy you another drink?”
Elara turned her head and looked at the man who spoke. He was tall, had horns, and was well dressed. A stark comparison to the folks in the crowd. Cid’s words from the other day rang in her ears and she offered up a small smile. “Sure.”
She put her glass down and Cid filled it up then took the man’s payment. “Do you know the kid?”
Elara lifted her drink to her lips, “She’s like my niece.” Her eyes flitted over to look at the man. “I’m just making sure she’s okay while her brothers are away.”
“That’s kind of you.” The man offered his hand to Elara. “My name is Roland, and you?”
Elara’s eyes squinted in suspicion but took his hand to shake. “Gray.” She wanted about to give up her real name.
Their conversation continued - they spoke of friends and ultimately how they each came to Ord Mantell. In the midst of their polite conversation, the Batch walked through the parlor entrance with confused faces. Cid came to them and boasted how well Omega was doing for her business.
“She really has a knack for this. She’s already paid off some of your debt!”
Hunter gave Cid a sideways glance but couldn’t deny that he was a bit relieved. Wrecker looked over the crowd trying to spot Elara but could not find her amongst them. “Is Elara here?”
Cid looked at Wrecker then pointed over her shoulder. “She’s with some guy at the bar, Muscles. Hasn’t left.”
Wrecker smiled and made his way over. His eyes spotted Elara and saw her chuckling and boy was he happy to see her. He hadn’t said much about his feelings for her, but he knows that something about her is right. He liked her and he was almost certain she liked him, too.
As he walked closer he could hear her laughter and it made him smile brighter. His eyes locked with hers and she waved, “Wrecker!”
He set his helmet down on the stool next to her and embraced her, lifting her off her seat a little. “Good to be back.”
Elara inhaled softly and comfort sprouted within her from being in his embrace. Roland cleared his throat and Elara parted from the hug. “Wrecker, this is Roland. He said he’s some what of an entrepreneur.”
Wrecker looked at the man and noticed his dark presence. It made him feel a bit odd, but he put on a polite smile. “Nice to meet’cha. We’ve got stuff to unload for Cid, so I’ll be back.”
Wrecker walked away and felt strange about himself. Roland wasn’t intimidating yet he wondered why he felt lesser in his presence. He took a glance over his shoulder and saw Elara chuckling with Roland again. It hurt Wrecker and he began to question if she would return his feelings. He put his helmet back on and walked out of the parlor.
Once the night had begun to ween into the early hours of the day, Cid shut the place down. Roland looked at Elara and confidently spoke, “I had a nice conversation with you. I’d like to experience it a second time.”
Elara blinked a few times as she thought about the indication his words had. She let out a half chuckle before declining. “No, it was a nice conversation but I’m not interested in a second time.”
“Ah. I didn’t take you to be interested in clones. To each their own,” he said as he got up to leave.
Elara didn’t let his silent jab go past her. “Watch your mouth. They’ve done a lot for this galaxy.”
Roland looked at Elara and his lips curved into an arrogant smirk but he did not respond. He walked out and once the doors to the parlor were closed, Elara sighed. She looked around and noticed that Wrecker never returned.
She walked back to Cid’s office, only finding Hunter and Tech inside with Cid. “Where’s Wrecker?”
Tech and Hunter exchanged a glance. “He’s been on the ship all night. He seemed rather…down?” Tech explained, fixing his goggles.
Elara connected the dots quickly. She chewed the inside of her cheek as she excused herself to find Wrecker. She walked to the usual landing bay and walked up the open ramp.
She found him in the gunner’s chair at the back of the Marauder. He held his Lula loosely. Elara felt strange not seeing a smile on his face while back on Ord Mantell or to see him by himself for that matter. She came up and leaned on the chair with her arms crossed under her chest.
“Hey, you. You never came back.” Elara tried to ignite a conversation.
Wrecker lifted his head up to look at her for a moment. “Oh, I guess I got off track.” His tone was eerily mellow and Elara wished it was just her imagination. It didn’t suit him at all. “Didnt want to interrupt you and that guy, either.”
Elara scoffed, “You’d never interrupt me. Besides, I like your company way more than anyone else’s.” Her words gained a bit of emotion from him and he turned more in his seat to look at her. Her eyes looked down and a smile broke onto her lips. “I’m serious!”
Wrecker chuckled at her little defense. “I like your company, too.”
“Good.” She poked his shoulder in a playful manner. “Now, stop being sad. I miss your smiles and laughter.”
Wrecker grinned and stood up, embracing Elara tightly again and it made her laugh. He let her go and kept his hands on her arms. He looked down and she looked up, a shift in atmosphere happened so suddenly.
“Elara.” Wrecker felt every heartbeat from his chest down into the palms of his large hands as he continued. “I like you. I know that Jedi’s can’t have relationships, and I don’t imagine you’d want one with a clone if you did want one.”
“Wrecker—?”
“After seeing you with that guy last night, I needed to tell you.”
Elara took a breath and smiled. His words settling into her mind perfectly. “I like you, too, Wrecker. Despite my Jedi upbringing… we’re living in a different time. I want to be with you.”
“Even though I’m a clone.”
She brought her hands up to hold his face gently. “I don’t care what they say. You matter more to me than anything else.” Her eyes held a warmth Wrecker couldn’t help smiling at.
His hands found hers and his grin returned. “Thank you, Cyare.”

“Internal” bleeding? That’s where the blood is supposed to be - on the inside.
Tech: Blood "loss"? Well, it's not lost. I know exactly where it is. It's on the floor.

With a final trip to the barn, the hay bales were stacked neatly. I looked over to the three clones while I wiped the sweat from my forehead with the back of my hand and smiled. “Thanks, boys. Really saved me a lot of sun for other things.”
Hunter nodded, “No problem.”
“Let me cook you guys something as payment. Bring your sister, too.” I offered and looked to each of the brothers. They each nodded their heads, Wrecker most excited. “I’ll see you guys back around sunset.” I walked them out and kissed their cheeks as they left.
I started to prep the meal an hour before they were supposed to arrive, chopping veggies and meat. I heard my screen door that leads to the back open and I set my knife down to look at the time. If it was them, they were early.
“Boys?” I got no response. “Omega?” There were footsteps rounding the wall and a man dressed in black showed himself. “Who are you?” I asked and picked up my knife, slowly putting my other hand down behind the counter and opening a drawer.
“I’d think twice before you get confident.” The man brandished his blaster and nodded towards the knife in my hand. “Just looking for valuables.”
His voice sent a chill down my back. “Take what you want and leave me in peace.” I carefully touched for the signal booster in the drawer, pressing its button and hoped that those clones would get the message.
“Ooh, no can do, doll.” He mocked sympathy in his voice and he stepped closer. “See, the valuables I want is you.” He walked closer until he was opposite of me, the only thing between us was the island counter.
I could feel my hands begin to shake. I looked to the side and saw movement outside of the window. I heard the soft creak of the screen door and looked back to the man in black. I shook my head, “You won’t be taking me anywhere.”
“Awe. Who’s going to stop me?” His voice was cocky.
Before the man could come around the island counter, a blaster fire went through his middle. When the man went down, I inhaled sharply like I had been drowning in the ocean. My hand let go of the knife and I grabbed onto the counter before my knees gave out from beneath me.
“Y/n, are you alright?” Omega asked, coming to my side while Crosshair and Hunter took the man outside to be dealt with later.
“I’m fine, thank you,” I smiled and caressed her hair. When the two came back inside, I looked to her brothers and stood tall again. “Dinner is running behind guys,” I tried to chuckle and make the situation light.
Wrecker came over and engulfed me in a hug, Hunter and Crosshair coming to take over dinner. “Don’t worry about it,” Crosshair said.
“We’re just glad we got here in time.” Hunter glanced at me with a concerned smile and fear still hidden behind his eyes.
I sighed, bringing Omega into the hug and I let my eyes shut. “Thank you…” I whispered and I felt Wrecker place a kiss on the top of my head. I smiled and squeezed the both of them tightly before I let go. I went over to Hunter and hugged him from behind then stepped over to Crosshair to place a kiss on his cheek. “Thank you, boys. And Omega.” I smiled at her and she smiled back.
“Can’t just let some stranger try and take what’s ours,” Wrecker chuckled.
I chuckled with him and agreed. “I love you, guys.”

Kiwi 🥝
#thebadbatch Crosshair x f!Reader | not established relationship, post Tantis, season 3 spoilers(?), SFW | 547 words
Tumblr media
When Hunter and Wrecker returned to Pabu with their younger sister and brother, I had no idea that my heart would feel… uneasy. I kept my distance. I watched him practice at the rocks by the water from afar. Omega was normally seen by his side, offering her help although he never seemed to accept it willingly. Hunter and Wrecker never too far behind either. I supposed they didn’t feel at ease with their brother yet, too.
At some point, the repetitive practice compelled me to bring out my brushes and paint from the back of my closet. I used a small canvas, starting out with a pencil sketch then a light base of colors. As I worked, my mind started to question my actions. Why am I painting this man? I’ve never even spoken to him, barely made eye contact.
I could not come up with an answer reasonable enough to satiate my brain, but I continued to paint. The more I painted, the more I could feel my heartbeat in my palms. The man made me nervous and I was unsure if it was a good kind of nervous. He always had a scowl on his face, anxiously bitting that poor end of the toothpick. He seemed… bitter. Not personable.
I felt someone next to me and I turn my head to see Lyana peeking at my painting.
“Afternoon.” I got her attention and she smiled.
“I like your painting.” Her smile shifted to a smirk. “Are you going to give it to him?”
I tilted my head and looked between my painting and the clone. “Maybe,” I said, chewing on the inside of my bottom lip. I turned to look back at Lyana. “So what’s new with you?”
Lyana presented a small basket. Inside were kiwis. “The firsts of the season. My dad asked me to bring you some.” I took the basket from her and thanked her. “See you around, y/n.”
She left and I looked at the kiwis. I never did like them much before. They were always bitter and never sweet enough. But I grew to enjoy them.
Over the course of three days, adding details to the painting, I had finally run into the man. The mayor invited the clones and I to dinner. My heart paused two beats when I made eye contact with him. I still stood and greeted each of them with a smile.
The dinner table had light conversation. Lyana asked Omega what Tantis was like and despite her father’s awkward reprimand Omega answered. I looked over at Crosshair, as his brothers introduced him as, as Omega spoke knowing he was there too. His temperament changed when Tantis was brought up, there was a shakiness to his hands and his eyes seemed glossed over.
I looked at my plate and picked up a kiwi slice with my fork and put it on his plate. His focus shifted to me. I did not say anything, but I watched him eat it. His expression was like mine when I was a child, trying them for the first time. It was bitter.
Perhaps that was why I was hesitant about him. I thought he would be bitter like a kiwi. Then again, I might grow to like him, too.
