Dear Followers,
It is with mixed feelings that I can tell you the time for this project has come to an end. I have had a lot of fun, journeyed through nostalgia, been introduced to pieces of culture I missed; I organized, reorganized, worked tirelessly, gave up for periods of time, had to make adjustments to changes in platforms and technology, learned some things, and forgotten others; I have been complimented, criticized, and ignored; I have had many miscommunications, spoken to some very wonderful people, had some not-so-well-meaning people disappear from my life, and missed opportunities to make connections.
There will be no new content posted; however, I will be working on a final edit here, and on Pinterest, before I move on to other projects that are calling to me. Pinterest houses some different content, along with links to media that was mentioned in the magazines, and some additional pins about things that I remember from the time frame of the magazine (1987-1996), as well as a section for where some of the writers of Sassy are now and other sources that have commented or created projects about or inspired by the magazine.
The chat feature is open for comments or questions, or you can reach me at [email protected]. Thank you to all of my supporters, even those that ripped off my scans and reposted without the credit of my purchasing and time spent scanning, formatting, and posting. This magazine meant more than words can say in terms of creativity and resourcefulness, of being blunt and speaking truth, and for encouraging critical thinking. I can only hope that it does the same for those that aren’t familiar with it, and keeps its importance to those who are.
Stay Sassy!
