“Can you give more info on how you perform the tarot Bible study? It seems cool”
To cleanse my tarot deck before I start, I shuffle my cards three times, symbolic of the Holy Trinity. The card that ends up on top is my main focus. For today, it is the Seven of Wands. I’m still learning what each card means, so I primarily use Google to help me.
The main sites I use are:
- The Tarot Guide
- Biddy Tarot
- Labyrinthos
- A little Spark of Joy
- Tarot . Com
- as well as many others to get a general idea on the vibe of the card drawn
For the Seven of Wands, we have strength of will, challenges around you, not giving up, persevering, etc.
Next, I look at my three devotional books.
The first one is my United Methodist daily devotional, The Upper Room:
I write down one verse and quote from this devotional that sticks out to me, especially if it has to do with my main focus. If another Bible verse not mentioned comes to mind, I include that in my study.
Next, because I am nonbinary, I feel that it’s important to read from a feminine devotional, geared towards women, titled The Confident Woman, by Joyce Meyers.
Here we see that our Tarot Bible Study is leaning more towards how God is with us in adversity, adversity spoken of by the Seven of Wands. Because this is a Minor Arcana card, it has to do with the day to day. I am reminded of how we are to DAILY take up our cross like Jesus did, but we are to remember from Jeremiah 31:3 that God is with us in EVERYTHING.
Next, I look at a masculine devotional, geared towards men, titled An Anchor for the Soul by Christian Art Publishers.
Ah, here, when it comes to the daily trials of life, we are to wait for God to direct us. “Be still in the Presence of the Lord and wait patiently for Him to act.” God is with us, we cannot forget that! But as our Lord, we must not jump to conclusions and act on them; we must be still and listen. When was the last time you just sat quietly in the Presence of God. Remind yourself that God isn’t angry with you, that He loves you, and He will help you with your daily stresses because “He will never leave you nor forsake you.”
