This is an experiment to see if there really are as few of us as people think. You can also use this to freak out your followers who think you’re 25 or something. Yay!
I love watching them just talk to each other and interact naturally. Their eyes light up and they bounce off of each other so beautifully, making each other laugh or casually learning things about each other. This press tour was a gift! I love how David is so shocked that Michael could be insecure and leans into how similar they are. And at this point, it was Michael who was always looking so fondly at David but this interview, David is just in awe of Michael every time he looks at him.
When I was younger and researching the autism diagnosis criteria and symptoms, I thought “oh I couldn’t POSSIBLY be autistic.” Because when I read “takes everything literally” I thought it literally meant EVERYTHING and I was like “I don’t take EVERYTHING literally, just most things!” And I just realized the other day that it didn’t actually mean EVERYTHING and that was an overstatement.
Oh this is so much fun! It has a very Frank Sinatra too cool for school vibe to the opening choreography and arrangement/orchestration. 😁
I hope when they finalize the editing they balance the sound a bit better, there are times when his vocals are so buried under the instruments and chorus you can barely hear him. ☹️
Musical bit from the Nye cinema screening tonight. Excuse the quality and the angle. Just had to share for some friends who I hope see it in full soon :)
So, looking at the video posted on twitter by Vivid video it looks like Michael was at the NT earlier in the day on Monday (it’d be awfully fast to be posting an edited video at 11.30 AM on the day it was shot).
My guess is Michael was in early for the tech run through Monday, which considering the problems they had during the show last night probably ran much longer than expected. A tech for an almost 3hr show could easily run 6hrs or longer, and they would have definitely wanted him onstage to know exactly what his movements and facial expressions would be for camera angles and close up shots. At the end of a very long tech he could have decided that doing the show that night was too much and would jeopardize his performance in the live show the next day, and it was decided that the understudy would go on that night.
27 years in the biz (backstage), been there, done all of the above.
Neil really is an amazing writer. A good world builder would have given thethingwiththehalo a name, some immediate backstory or explanation. Neil has Aziraphale so realistically too overwhelmed to remember what it’s called, and then has Crowley explain it as a declaration of war only as part of his delight that Aziraphale did it. 😁
