Hey guys.
I hope that everyone is safe and is at home. I know we're all going through different situations at the moment with regards to the pandemic. Some may have their anxiety peaking, some may be moving towards depression and some may be in unhealthy situations back home. I just pray and hope that God guides you and protects you throughout this period and that you come back an even better version of yourself.
I just have a few tips that may help if you're struggling with any of the above.
Pray —
If you're Christian or even spiritual, pray to your God. Ask him to be with you and to make your heart and mind at peace with what's going on. Ask your God to guide you and to help you find answers to things that may confuse you at the moment. Connect with him and thank him for protecting you thus far and only pray for him to continue doing that. He may be the most reliable at the moment for you so why not?
Breathe —
Whatever the world is going through right now isn't permanent. Life will resume again and I know, things won't be the same again. They'll be even better. More opportunities will come your way. Blessings will come your way. So use this time to reflect on the things you may want to achieve. Maybe a new venture? Try your best to be more optimistic about this by spending your time on making something out of the lockdown.
Talk to a close friend —
Try to communicate with the ones you love about your head space. You may find that it isn't only you who's maybe going through or feeling a specific emotion. By engaging with a close friend you're familiarizing yourself with whatever emotions that may come while talking about this. So instead of avoiding it you can now allow your body to feel the emotions you're meant to feel without being too scared about it. If you feel lonely talk about it, if you feel scared or even angry. Allow yourself to talk about these emotions and feel whatever you need to feel in the rawest way. This helped for me.
Find a new hobby —
The amount of things we can do right now are still a bit limited. But the internet isn't. Research and find something that will distract you. It may be starting a YouTube channel, doing an online course or even just watching a new genre on Netflix. I know for myself I realized how much I fantasize about designing my dream home so I downloaded a game (LOL I know) that allows you to do that. It's really fun. So you could definitely do those things if it helps.
I don't have a phone at the moment but I'll definitely be back soon to talk about other exciting stuff with you guys and I'm so excited!
Love xoxo

Being a BBW and how to be proud of it ~ Part 2
Fetishes.
If you feel weird about someone and you think they have a BBW fetish then you're probably right. There's a huge difference between having a preference and having a fat fetishism. People who have a fat fetishism are extremely attracted to BBWs and not in a healthy way. They usually want to 'overfeed' or help with making that particular person gain more weight. These people are called feeders because they get aroused with helping you gain extra weight. Please stay away from these people. It genuinely isn't healthy and it won't end well for you.
Please don't mistaken someone who likes spoiling you with a feeder. If at any point you feel uncomfortable or skeptical you can communicate with that person and hear what they have to say. You can usually differentiate between the two though but if you're not too sure please don't hesitate to ask questions or to verify.
PLEASE NOTE:
There IS a difference between having a preference and having a fetish. I'm not saying that preferring big women is instantly a fetish but you have to have the ability to see when it's an unhealthy obsession and when it's just liking a particular type of women. The two aren't the same at all.
If you want more information on Fat Fetishism then you can click on this link https://www.psychologytoday.com/za/blog/in-excess/201506/the-fat-fetish-explained

Being a BBW and how to be proud of it ~ Part 1
I know I promised to make this post a while ago but I got caught up in some work but I do apologize for the delay. As we're all aware, being a beautiful black woman (BBW) isn't always roses. We endure a lot of suffering actually. It becomes difficult to be in relationships because you feel as if you're not worthy of love or you end up being too self aware of your body. You don't necessarily have to be insecure or have a low self esteem but these things do tend to pop up out of nowhere. You suddenly feel like this person doesn't entirely love you or you may deprive yourself of love because you don't think you're beautiful enough. You definitely don't have to be ashamed of that because it's something some of us big girls go through.
Well firstly what you need to do is find the centre of these thoughts. Why do you feel like this? Is it because of person 2 (maybe they say hurtful things) or is it underlying issues you may have had before? Once you know what is the root of you feeling these emotions then you can move a step forward. If you feel these emotions because of another person ~ maybe a potential boyfriend. Then you need to RUN. You don't need anyone in your life who'll make you question your worth and you sure as hell don't need anyone who justify your beauty. If you know, that's okay. If you don't, try by all means to take care of yourself. Be your first priority until you feel like THAT girl.
If you realize that you've actually been suffering from self esteem issues you can DM me anytime @sihleyokwe on Instagram and I'll be here to listen and help anyone I can. I can't necessarily say go to a psychologist because we're on lockdown currently but most importantly you may feel like speaking to someone who can relate to you more. I'm here.
PS ~ Please never feel obligated to fit into society's expectations. As corny as this may sound; you're your own person. You need to learn to love the most undesirable (according to you) parts of yourself. You need to find the beauty in spaces that don't make sense. You need to learn to be your biggest fan and if YOU'RE not happy with your weight you could always try and find a personal trainer you're comforable with and eat clean. There are some helpful apps (I'll attach below)
• MyFitnessPal
• FitBit
• FitNow
• Nike Training Club
These are just a few apps. But I'm 100% sure they're more but please research which one works best for you. The apps I mentioned above all do different jobs.
Drink water and get enough sleep ❤

I'm often known for growing hair and recutting over and over again. Many people have their own beliefs on big chops and a lot more have different reasons why they do it. Here's mine:
I've got a number of struggles that I need healing from. Each require me to give them solitary attention. Most times I'm not even aware that I'm healing but once it's done I look back and realize how far I've come. This is where the big chop comes into my life. Whenever I realize I've accomplished something in my life that I never thought I would - in the healing context. I cut my hair to symbolize new growth. I'm leaving whatever struggle I surpassed in the past and I'm growing myself in that particular situation.
Now not everyone has to do this but it works for me because I highkey dislike combing my hair- LOL. But there are other ways you can celebrate your growth. By writing what you've surpassed on a piece of paper and what you'd like to manifest from that growth. Taking a match and burning it. That way you're mentally and emotionally enabling yourself to accept and be proud of how far you've come. I'm 100% sure there are other effective ways to move on or to celebrate growth but I just wanted to share mine.
Hope it helped!

Just a little insight about my life and what I do!
I am a Television student meaning I study all the components that make a successful television production. I have written and directed a music video. I have featured in a short film at AFDA and I'm currently a camerawoman and producer for our upcoming current affairs show. I absolutely love what I do. I wouldn't have asked God to give me any other talent. I have worked with wonderful people and certainly can't wait to make more magic as time goes.
AFDA is a Film and Television school and I'd advise any creative to think about attending. I'll make a blog post about bursaries tonight and hopefully that'll be the first step into you being whatever you dream to be!

I can't wait to devour this topic with you guys. I know it can be uncomfortable for most of us but it isn't something to be ashamed of. Being a big beautiful woman (BBW) can be challenging for a lot of us. But the good part is, you don't have to see it that way. Yes we tend to do things a bit differently from some other people and a few examples of these differences are how we wash our bodies, our diets, how our weight affects our relationships, fat shaming in families and losing weight. These things play a huge role in our lives and I can't wait to tackle them with you!
Stay beautiful. Stay focused. Stay you.
See you soon!
