When Thomas clambered onto her lap and promptly fell asleep, it suddenly struck her that soon, this little boy wouldn’t be the youngest anymore. Her first baby would have a sibling in a span of mere months, and she would be a mother of two.

Two children of her own. Addie could hardly believe her luck.

Henford Estate, spring 1878.

There were a few things, Audrey thought, that would forever stay the same — no matter who she married or where she might move. The sky, the air she breathed, and the way water ran through her fingers when she tried to catch it in her hands.

Three things, she thought, her little daughter (because this child would be a girl, she was sure of it) might also find a comfort when time came for her to fly the nest.

"But not for a long time to come, little bird. Not for a long time indeed," she mused, resting a hand on her stomach.

How she wished her own mother, instead of her stern grandmama, had been here to guide her through it all: marriage, leaving the only home she'd ever known, the thrill and fear of having a child of her own. Oh, to be a mother, when she was still so much a child herself. At nineteen years old, she did not count herself to be far past her own childhood, yet here she stood, hand resting over the life that was now growing inside her.

But, ready or not, Audrey made a silent vow to do everything to ensure her daughter would grow up feeling safe. And if she could help it, she'd make sure the girl would never have to marry for her own survival.

Wheel of Time is the first fantasy show I've seen with an explicitly CANON sapphic main character and I've been smiling about it for at least an hour now :')

The Lane-Farleys, 1881

A family almost as old as the town itself, the Lane-Farleys have inhabited Henford-on-Bagley for as long as anyone — including the town records — can recall. The centuries-long legacy would almost have fallen to pieces, had it not been for the mysterious inheritance Lord Henford received only recently. Rumour has it this sudden influx of money might not be an inheritance at all — might not even be legal — but are rumours really to be trusted? Lord Henford has always been an honest man, after all.

Most of the town isn't sure what to make of his young wife, however. Audrey Lane-Farley married her husband when she was only eighteen years old, and has been rather distant from the townspeople. Some say she's just shy, but other say she might be hiding something.

The Chadwicks, 1881

Known to be kind-hearted and always in good spirits, the Chadwicks are well-loved by all of Henford-On-Bagley. It’s as if a ray of sunshine follows around all who live at the farm, no matter the seasons. It appears even destiny likes the Chadwicks too much to truly harm them, for this little family has lived a life nearly free of hardships; some say this is the cause of their everlasting good mood.

Although life is said to be ever in their favour, it is no secret that the Chadwicks are — as of now — one of the poorest families in New Old Henford, having invested what little savings they had in their ever-growing family farm.

Is the Chadwicks’ life really as easy as the rumours say, or are they just eternal optimists?

Finally, an official blog announcement of a sort :) because I've made a lot of changes to the plans I have for this blog and am in the middle of setting up a new legacy, I figured it might be time for a little update.

Where have I been?

Studying, mostly! And because I spend most of my time focused on books or studying on my laptop, I’ve been trying to keep away as much as possible from any other stuff that requires me to focus (which especially includes ts4, because I always end up concentrating way too much on that.) Now that I’ve settled into a more comfortable study schedule and my brain doesn’t turn to mush after a few hours of focus, I think it’s finally safe to open my game and start being more active again ;)

So! What's happening to my ongoing stories?

The Canfields are sadly going to be discontinued. I love them and I think fondly back on the year and a half or so I spent playing their household and creating stories for them, but I believe it's time to move on. I managed to overcomplicate the storyline with too many characters, while all I wanted was to move on – only to ensnare myself in yet another trap of complicated storytelling when I attempted to simplify things. All in all, this legacy has taught me a lot!

My other stories are on indefinite hiatus, but I'm pretty sure most of them – if not all – won't be continued. I think When Life Gives You Lemons has the biggest chance of ever being revived, but even that's quite slim.

What am I going to post about now?

The shadows of sunshine, a new decades challenge, which I'm starting in 1881. I was going to make this simple and gameplay-oriented, but "simple" apparently doesn't exist in my vocabulary so instead I'm already writing story parts.

I won't say too much about this yet, but a few pointers: it's sapphic in the meticulously planned future, technically follows an heir, but I'm probably going to end up playing at least half the town. Whether all stories are going to end up playing a part on screen is still undecided. It's heavily inspired by the cottage living pack, so expect lots of farms!

That’s about it!

Don’t expect me to be super active from now on (I’m still way more busy than I was when I started this blog) but I’m going to try my best to post once in a while and engage more with others’ content. Either way, I’m happy to be back!

If you want to catch up (or we haven’t talked yet, but you’d like to chat either way) feel free to send me a message or an ask, because I’m excited to catch up with all of you!

Little life update under the cut :)

aka: where I disappeared to after introducing a new legacy

My attention has been super divided between hobbies the past month or so, and on top of that I’ve started university this month -- so it’s been a lot trying to balance everything I want to do without overworking myself :)

To add to that, I also shouldn’t spend too much time behind a screen/reading because that’s... not very good for me. Which means that with starting university, which requires me to spend a lot of time reading/on my computer, I probably won’t allow myself to play TS4 for some time, ahah.

It might be a while before I return, so I figured it might be nice to mention why I’ve disappeared! I’m doing well, though! A bit stressed from adapting to the sudden workload uni has provided me with, but that’ll sort itself out at some point haha.

Hopefully everyone else is doing alright too!

Regretfully, the property itself has not been kept up and due to Mr. Barrington’s mounting debts, most of the furnishings and chattels have been sold at auction and the property staff laid off. 

I have arranged for Mrs. Agatha Crumplebottom of Volpe Hall to meet you at Clover Court on the day of your arrival. If any assistance is required prior to or during your travels to Henford-on-Bagley, I am at your beck and call. Your obedient servant -
