I played abby seatle day 3 yesterday and I'm still thinking abt it

I find it soo freaking hard to hit ellie in tlou2 theatre scene

I think I loved how naughty dog made the whole game from 2 perspectives and the storylines turns out to be all related，we get to know what tommy did before jess found him and why abby turnsout to not be in the aquarium when Ellie arrived.

Like，I know how abby also lost her friend， but I just don't want to hit ellie. Like I have to hit her，to pass the game，but I just physically hate smashing her face and make her cry and stuff.

I relate to abby just as much as I do to ellie，until she hit her，killed jess and disabled tommy. I just start to kinda don't wanna play abby first person ever again in this GAME！！！（and of course，we still have to play her in Santa Barbra）

I feel like they could just use CGI instead of player operation during the fight scene，it would have the same effect and neither side has the fault to blame. Now seeing abby and the child she saved I just felt like：is her storyline really necessary？We were there with ellie since tlou1，and making abby hit her doesn't really represent abby‘s rage but instead made the character a evil villain？But abby’s not just a villain，she‘s more complicated then that.

What I'm trying to say is operating abby to hurt ellie makes me hate abby， and that's definitely biased and I hate myself hating abby cause I know she‘s been through a lot 2.

Fuck- this letter from Tommy on Joel’s cork board in his office in Texas has me absolutely wrecked 😭😭 this is obviously a childhood letter AND JOEL HAS KEPT IT THIS WHOLE TIME

Joel was just his big brother- the big bro who took care of him and looked out for him and he was so cool he built bikes and fixed stuff and protected him and I’m absolutely losing it

I know it’s tough for all of us when Tommy comes to the farm in tlou2 but we need to remember he’s lost in his own grief too. He was Joel’s baby brother- he lost the only family he had left from before. He lost the boy he wrote this letter to- the big brother he was missing when he was alone at camp!!!

That man with the wounds and scars and anger is this little boy and all he wants is his big brother back 😭

Apart from all this，back in 2020 when I was an Aeon fan，I realized all the fics are lead by leon and none of them is specifically about Ada. There‘s always Leon x reader，Leon x Ada，Reader x Leon，Leon x ada/clare，but never Ada x anyone non-Leon.

Like when you take ada away from the context of Leon，she doesn't exist as a person，all her personality and values are given by leon，they objectified her. They created Ada as a “villain with nice boobs”，her purpose was to intervene and tempt leon，and the male players.（honestly who would wear a freaking red short skirt in the middle of a spy mission？！）

Capcom made RE6 ada so decent，I'm sure they know how to do CGI for woman's pants，why can't you do it on this woman again？It's 2023！

Making my own post about it because the person I'd reblogged from ended up being Not Cool. And I've been saying this on my own for so long as it is. So anyways, resident evil 4 remake analysis:

The funny thing with the remake is, they didn't actually write out Leon's misogyny from the og; they simply recontextualised it. He no longer says "following a lady's lead just isn't my style", but he DOES say "maybe you aren't heartless after all" to a woman who's saved his life and the life of Ashley countless of times. Hell, Ada is the reason Leon lives past Mendéz, she's the reason he finds Ashley again, she's the reason he is able to find anything in that place, and he still has the audacity to act like she doesn't care, or worse, that she's completely heartless, just because he got his wittol feewings huwt.

Leon's so selfishly caught up in making it entirely personal, even when she established it wasn't, that he's letting his butthurt feelings literally warp his perception of her into something monstrous. He is quite literally the "one woman wronged me in the slightest way so I will distrust and despise her forever but actually it was just my entitled ass demanding more than she ever consented to give" kind of incel. All she did was kiss him in re2r, she NEVER said it meant anything, or that - fucking hell - she'd be committing to him in any way. I mean the very fact that she should have shot him to get the sample but didn't should be the biggest proof, to the audience and to Leon, that she truly cares and didn't want him to get caught up in her work.

Also, he never once stopped to care about or consider her own turmoil about it?? Every time they talked it was about his feelings and his sense of betrayal and "or are you just using me again", it was never about her. She cares more about him than he cares about her and it breaks my heart because he fucking sucks. He only cares about himself in this situation, he only cares about how Ada's actions affected him through his own lens, he only cares about his own hurt and doesn't stop for a second to consider hers. He doesn't see Ada as her own person, he sees her for what she could do for, or to, him. And that's misogyny at its core.

And as for the fans ignoring every wrong thing Leon has ever done, and instead hating Ada for doing nothing wrong, that too is misogyny :)

I’ve been reading tarot for over a decade now and I’m a really firm believer that no matter how experienced you are with divination, it is still so valuable to get readings from other people now and then.

It gets you out of your own head. There is such a thing as too much context, and sometimes we’re too close to the situation to break our own thought cycles about it and explore all valid interpretations. It helps you hear things from a fresh perspective.

It can be therapeutic. Not that we should treat readers like therapists, but having to put something that’s been weighing on you into words and talk about it with someone neutral can be very beneficial.

It helps improve your own practice. I can’t tell you how many little tips, tricks, and insightful nuances about various cards I’ve picked up just from watching other people do their thing.

Learning to read and reading for yourself and others can be very fulfilling and empowering, but it’s also good to remember that receiving a reading is also valuable in its own right!
