So one has to work sometimes to find these films. Terrorizers is just sublime, with a a strange interweaving plot; a meditation on loneliness, with echoes of Antonioni’s Blow Up or the Conversation

Edward Yang is the master of Taiwanese cinema, a soulful filmmaker of depth and sensitivity - and one of the most underrated filmmakers of all. A Brighter Summer Day and Yi Yi eventually made it onto Criterion, with help from Scorsese’s World Cinema Project, which has championed, and worked to restore his films. Several of his masterpieces are still out of reach (Terrorizers is on Blu Ray, and you can find on Amazon Prime and Youtube in full, but the transfer is still iffy.)
