what if star trek was called freak trek and there qas a whole episode about vulan mating rituals and spock goes into heat and the only thing that cures it is wrestling kirk in the red sands of vulca hold on .
I love them so much!!!!! Think what you want, but for me, this couple is a married old married couple who survived the attack on Starfleet in season 3 of Picard. They are happily raising children and dogs, as well as a little kitten
i do think medical & sciences should have different shirt colors. after you've been attacked by sentient plants or the hull has been breached by klingons or a malevolent space cloud has incapacitated the bridge crew, i think you'd want to be able to tell immediately if you're running towards a doctor or a geologist. design flaw
The very fact that every TOS reboot is afraid to depict the closeness between Kirk and Spock in the same way it was depicted originally is a devastating reinforcement of how gay that shit was
The Naked Time is genuinely so good. istg star trek original series is great to study if you want to write good stories...Episodes like this one provide positive examples to strive for. Meanwhile, there are plenty of miserably awkward episodes to watch as counter examples. TV show of all time
the "biology of Vulcans" scene might be awkward but tbh nothing gets me worse than Spock getting a private zoom call from his fiancée projected on a giant tv screen in front of all his coworkers
#The simple explanation is that they had to fit Levar and Brent into one shot #And then didn't move them back for the wide shot… #Or they were shooting with multiple cameras? Idk how that worked in the 90s #But it is MUCH funnier to believe that Geordi just wanted to be close to his bud #AND he found Riker's vibes RANCID (tags from @whitefangthefightingwolf)
#the thing that gets me #is that part of the reason kirk and spock are always half an inch from each other #is based on the constraints of tv sizes at the time #but the wide shot here makes it seem like that wasn't an issue? #so why are they over there? #why not at least be closer to riker for the wide shot??? #they are part of the great star trek tradition of being 4 inches away from ur guy ur bff ur good time pal at all times (tags by @surak)
#visually impaired engineer seeks autistic gentleman for queer platonic relationship #is the vibes I'm getting from these two #good for them honestly (tags by @generouslyandrogynousdragon)
boys. you are debriefing in front of your captain. maybe sit a little far away?
hello?? the space between geordi and riker sends me
and the first time we see Data cry is when he finds Spot alive in the ST: Generations movie! ...unless I'm forgetting something from TNG
Regardless, Spot really is the series' lil golden key to Data's heart :')
i literally love Data's "Ode to Spot" so much. i think about it so often,,, there's literally SO much love said in that thing and yet everyone was just snoozing off. my guy Data is FULL of LOVE and AFFECTION, and yet he says he can't feel emotions
whoever decided that Data needed a cat friend?? you are loved and appreciated. best decision for a character EVER
