[ 9:55 pm ] you were on a walk, finding peace in the cool nights atmosphere, when you run into hyunjin, who was looking for inspiration.
he decided to tag along, and your night became full of giggles, corny jokes, and lighthearted banter.
because of how immersed you two were in a conversation, you find that you've ended up in a...less cheerful place.
there was little to no light, no people at all, exactly two houses in your vicinity, and a bunch of tall trees that totally weren't scaring you.
hyunjin noticed how silent you became, and he stopped talking as he took the time to look around, finally realizing the both of you were definitely not where you should be.
"uhm, i-i'm sure if we just continue on we'll find a way out," you said.
"shouldn't we just go back?" your best friend proposed, but you ignored him and walked right ahead. (since he's a good person, he followed behind you)
after a few minutes of walking you step on a twig. the snap interrupted the eerie silence that you were finally getting used to, so it startled you a bit. hyunjin, on the other hand, screamed a scream worthy of being in a slasher film.
"god, y/n... you shouldn't scare me like that."
"blame the twig, bro, not me."
you still continued forward. it's not until it was getting darker that you start rethinking your decisions, though.
but you wanted to prove that you were right and that there was a way out if you went north, even if it meant risking your life.
then a bush rustled.
...okay, maybe not.
the both of you froze. "what was that?" your voice was shaky, and the fear was evident. so evident that hyunjin wanted to laugh, but he couldn't in fear that his life would be ending today as well.
in the corner of your eye, you see a tall, pale, figure—and this could've just been your imagination, but it had dark red eyes and a really creepy a smile.
that was enough for you to grab your friends wrist and exclaim,
"run!"
your voice cracked, but hyunjin couldn't laugh, not when he saw it too. this time, you ran back where you came from, "im so scared right now!" he yells out of breath, still running.
when you make it to a more illuminated place, you both laugh.
you come to a stop at the sight of a 7-eleven, sitting down on the chairs outside. after a few deep breaths, you try to form a sentence, but you could only laugh, finally seeing just how funny everything actually was.
he laughs with you, pushing his hair back. "well that was...definitely inspirational."

“What look? I don’t have a look.”  He resisted the temptation to turn his face away in the hope of hiding whatever his face had been doing to betray his thoughts while he wasn’t paying attention- thereby raising more suspicion that there was something to hide- and instead tried to school his expression back to neutral. He let silence hang between them for a few moments, his attempted neutral expression becoming a frown. “Well, now I don’t like the look you are giving me. Not everything I do is inherently suspicious.”
