#—&. lore.
Okay putting on my tinfoil hat here don't mind me. (someone has probably talked about this on reddit or whatever but I don't make a habit of being on reddit so it's fine)
I'm not gonna get super in-depth and wordy but I JUST THINK IT'S INTERESTING, that here on the pause menu we have the map of the world surrounded by a ring of the celestial bodies, surrounded by a ring of imagery that looks mostly to be dragons and arisen, surrounded by..... a murky?
okay it looks like the brine to me. Wiggly watery tentacles or some such. But if you look in the lower left-ish, those strands start to form what looks like an eye. Once it gets to certain points it looks less like an eye admittedly, but doesn't change the fact to me that it resembles and gives the impression of one.
These rings move SO SLOW, also. But if you open your game and look in the VERY upper left there is SLIVER of another ring and it moves surprisingly fast by comparison! Which just reminds me of:
(so if the slowest moving one represents the watching one and the brine, it would back up the idea that they're what causes the stagnation in the world)

some things to note about my portrayal, particularly in reference to dan heng / dan feng.
ren does not separate the two, regardless of what canon may or may not suggest, or how someone chooses to write dan heng. his default mindset is dan heng is pretending to not be dan feng. he changed his appearance and went on the run, trying to hide from his crimes. naturally, ren is angry about this, and believes that to honor baiheng's memory, they both must properly atone for their sins.
he is blindly convinced that death is the only way that both will be able to achieve that. he doesn't believe that he deserves a second chance at life. and with what dan feng did to him, he believes that he does not, either.
ren's mind is muddled. not only is it a core part of his person ( being a disattva ), to "lose track of time", but being struck by mara has changed him fundamentally. in no way am i saying that ren will never come to accept how you choose to portray dan heng. with time, exposure and understanding, he can accept the truth; that dan feng is no more and died a long time ago. will he like it ? that's up for debate, further plotting and writing.
in my canon, he was romantically involved with dan feng. if another writer chooses not to indulge in that headcanon, then at the very least, they were best friends, extremely close companions who shared a lot together. dan feng is someone that ren cherishes more than even himself, which says a lot, considering back then, he was known as someone who was arrogant and placed himself on a pretty high pedestal.
to be clear, ren does not hate dan heng or dan feng. it doesn't matter what harsh words he says, how manic he acts when under the influence of mara, or what he has done in the past towards the other. he'll never hate either of them, and it is a part of himself that he detests.
pain is also a very big part of ren's character. he holds onto the hurt, the betrayal, the nostalgia, the raw pain because it keeps him sane in the most insane way.
also, i want to say that i don't think ren's blame is placed solely on dan feng. he blames himself for his own stupidity, his own greed, his arrogance. it is why he wants them both to pay the price, not just dan feng.
ren has an obsessive personality. back in the day, yingxing spent most of his time working. he'd push off eating, drinking, and sleep on a frequent basis. he'd essentially forget to be a living person, not even realizing the passing of time.
it is not a surprise to me that he has pursued dan heng to the lengths that he has. the only reason that he has temporarily stopped doing so is for elio's sake. dan heng must be alive for elio's script. if ren wants elio to help him as he has promised, then he must abide by this and stay his hand.
also, it should be noted that ren isn't the only one that has inflicted pain upon dan heng. whilst dan heng has reacted in self defense ( rightfully so ), he has killed ren, multiple times. whilst some people may be turned off by the cat and mouse chase, i find it incredibly fascinating. if dan heng wanted to entirely rid himself of dan feng's past, then you'd think that he'd throw away any possessions that remind him of the other.
mainly the jade pendant, spear + bracer, all of which are heavily tied to yingxing / ren. the only way that ren is able to find dan heng all the time is through following the heartbeat that resonates from the twin bracer .. and i don't see dan heng as someone who is that clueless, to not realize that there is an obvious link that makes it possible for ren to find him whenever he pleases.
i'm rambling at this point, but i just want to say, whether it's platonic or romantic, their relationship is fascinating to explore. whilst i as a writer respect how another chooses to write dan heng / dan feng, i just wanted to give some insight behind ren's actions.

man i know i talk about how feral and violent artemis is and will be but i don't talk enough about how she also has the capacity to be heartbreakingly gentle. that for all of the harm that she has caused, she also does good, even if it perhaps is not as often as it should be. there are times in which she is caring; children often bring this out in her, as she is bound to protect them, and will do so without being asked. she likes children, the questions they ask, how they play, how loving they are. they deserve to be protected. artemis would lay her bow down for a child.
she can be gentle to her loved ones, too. will offer them food and a place to stay. build them their own tent if they so wished, would hunt an animal for the pelts so they could sleep warmly. her love and respect presents itself in acts of service most often, or even just sticking around more often. she'll hunt you down, if only to be in your space, to annoy you and ply you with curiosity.

Mobile Dossier.
Put under a read-more due to length!
NAME.
Aurelius Augustus
ALIASES.
Primarch of the IInd Legion, Master of the Second, Second Master, Repentance Incarnate, the Penitent, Lost Primarch, the Forgotten, the Purged, Quiet Brother, Auri, Ri-Ri…
AGE.
Unknown, possibly ten thousand years old.
BIRTHPLACE AND BIRTHDATE.
The planet Iskaarre III within Segmentum Calor. Presumably was born around the 29th-30th Millenniums.
OCCUPATION.
Primarch of the IInd Legion (formerly), Unknown.
FACECLAIM.
None yet. May attempt to make icons in the future.
ABOUT THE PRIMARCH.
Not much can truly be gleaned from such old records– much historical accounts of the Emperor’s second Primarch had been erased from all Imperial records and any word of him had been sworn to secrecy. However, there are still scraps that have been found…
According to some old records, the Penitent had been found upon an icy snow world in the (ironically) named Segmentum Calor, within a small medieval colony, and was one of the first eight originally found. Apparently, when found, a parade had been made to celebrate the recently-found Tenth Primarch, when in reality, it lauded the Second. Soon after, it was learned that Aurelius was a psyker, specifically of the Divination principles, as he would attempt to divine the stars in order to learn of Mankind’s future. Never did he share his true thoughts, only staying within his mind. However, when he did (rarely) speak, he spoke through the usage of telepathy as a quiet voice in the back of someone’s mind.
The Second Master was a very stoic individual, rarely speaking and always contemplative– yet there were times where even he would speak out about his brothers, such as Fulgrim’s hubris. He is quiet, untalkative, and apparently humorless– however, this could be chalked up to anxiety as ancient accounts reveal the Primarch would not speak without his helm.
Nothing would be truly known of what happened to cause the Second Primarch to be erased from Imperial Records. Some Solar Auxilia had served alongside them, and apparently the Primarch was a part of the Rangdan Xenocides. Though, he would eventually be supposedly slain by another Primarch, supposedly Leman Russ. Though, it could be presumed that such sources mean the other Legions that the Space Wolves have butted heads with.
At some point, the Primarch disappeared– however, there are rumors of artifacts that can be found somewhere within the vast reaches of the Imperium. One of which would be a mighty battle-standard wielded personally by Lord Aurelius, made of the very rare auramite that boasted his Legion’s emblem with chains and thuribles, with the Aquila upon the top of the standard. Above the Aquila is a tall spearhead, making the standard into something akin to a ‘swordspear’.
Another would be Lord Aurelius’s Greatbow– a large bow composed of the same material that had been wielded with immense care by Lord Aurelius himself, with silvery designs embedded into it. There was no bowstring– but instead was possibly used with the help of his psychic ability alongside large great arrows created similarly to that of Psybolts.
And the last, though much more grim, few artifacts would be the Lord’s very arms and legs– having apparently lost them by the time of his disappearance. Some say there is still psychic power within them. Now, some might say ‘chop a leg’ to bring good luck in reference to the Second Primarch– which bastardized the Old Terran saying ‘break a leg’.
None know where the Primarch is, but it is said that he may have had a large city-scale ship similarly to the Imperial Fists’ beloved Phalanx, dubbed Ursa Major by the Master of the Second. Some say it still lingers out there, with its Primarch still attempting to redeem himself to finally meet the Emperor’s fatherly gaze once more.
ABOUT THE LEGION.
Traces of this Legion are essentially nonexistent, save for scraps of records that suggest their Astartes were brought into the 13th Legion– however, this is unknown.
With what little can be found, they were suggested to have been fanatically loyal to the Emperor of Mankind to the point of interring themselves into Penance Armor, in which the armor’s connective points would connect directly into the respective Astarte without any sort of plugs and stabbing into their flesh. This would cause constant pain and possibly bleeding, yet it was said that such pain merely 'helped them find their purpose’. Such fanaticism would end when their Primarch would return and brought them comfort through teaching them astrology, which would ease their suffering and help them find new meaning and protect them from a 'strange evil’ through their own sort of faith. In honor of their Primarch, the Stars Repentant legion would chip at their dark blue Penance Armor to leave marks that were like the stars of the night sky, with higher-ranking Astartes having constellations. The highest-ranking would have constellations often seen from Holy Terra, such as Orion’s Belt. They also often had some form of psychic abilities– often, however, they were nowhere near the strength to that of actual psykers.
The veterans of the 1st Company were known to be simply called by 'Hear, See, Speak’, in reference to Hear No Evil, See No Evil, Speak No Evil. These elite Stars Repentant Marines would be the ones to wield the standards of their Legion and were considered a terrifying force on the battlefield. They would be deprived of these senses– focusing solely on innate psychic ability and gut feeling and are said to wield bolters with shocking ease. Of course, however, they are still left more susceptible to psychic attacks and Nulls or blanks, but especially Chaos.
So, instead of being fanatic for the Emperor after their Primarch’s intervention, they grew to become fiercely loyal of their fellow Space Marines, specifically those within their Legion and often treated one another as genuine family. It was rumored that when the Second Master arrived, he would help the young aspirants and neophytes get used to life as a Space Marine and treated them like his own flesh and blood.
Of course, some of the biggest shocks would be that the Stars Repentant Legion was a very diplomatic Legion. With most factions– save for the Orks and possibly the beginnings of Chaos and some of the Necrons if some stories are possible. Often, they would attempt to expand the Imperium by way of converting those from other factions into believing in the Emperor of Mankind’s ideals– at least, his more altruistic ones. Planets once claimed by the Stars Repentant Marines were often very diverse, completely contrasting their bloodstained fanatical history.
In the few Astartes of the Legion that may remain, flaws within the gene-seed began to appear like with many other Legions’ gene-seeds.
One such defect would be the Lord’s emotional connection to his Astartes becoming far too real. In moments of extreme stress or injury, these Marines may slip into a flashback of their Primarch– supposedly of the slaying of his sons and destruction of his Homeworld– and fight as he would. Brutal. Bitter. Enraged. By the time the battle is over, they will slip into unconsciousness and fall limp, temporarily losing feeling in their arms and legs as if they had been ripped apart, just like their Primarch. This intense rage and emotion, of course, leaves them very susceptible to Chaos Gods such as Khorne. However, remnants of their honor will still remain even to those that succumbed to his influence.
Space Marine Librarians, dubbed Diviners, will be far more susceptible to succumbing not just from their presence within the Warp, but by possibly witnessing the visions their Primarch once had. This often leads to insanity.
A rare mutation within the gene-seed actually allows for some Astartes to have a 'moving tattoo’, apparently something originally from their Primarch. Such 'tattoo’ moves like a map, covering their entire back and half of their arms, which helped to show the way. Some have called such mutation a 'psychic dataslate’, but humorously it often led to them joking they are walking star-maps. Often, it would show the galaxy they were currently within, and would shift, move about, or change if touched.

good day, my most beloveds ! since SURVIVORSFM turned three months since its opening a few days ago ( on the 15th, actually) , i thought dropping our lore further info was the right way to celebrate ! so here it is, and it contains information both about the virus and life outside the sanctuary, how things worked in the beginning, how they evolved, and where the world stands now, after more than a decade ( although not in chronological order ) , luckily it’ll clarify a few things for you. as usual, if you have any questions or anything in this arises other / different doubts, feel free to drop them whether through ask / ims or discord ( lore - ridge or questions channels would work perfectly ) . hope you enjoy it, and happy three months of survivors, babes !
( ! ) the following information contains possibly triggering topics such as common pandemic lore , military violence , infection , body fluids , vaccines , loss , riots , death , and mentions of sexual encounters , blood , and wounds. readers discretion is highly advised.
⸺ ABOUT THE VIRUS.
in the beginning, the virus was also spread by particles of body fluids in the air ( sneezes, saliva, and so on ) , therefore the amount of infected increased quickly and dangerously. 47% of the population was dead by the end of the first year, and 21% of the living one was already infected.
scientists all over the world worked relentlessly looking for a cure, or at least something that could help to improve things in any way, and those at the uc, armed with everything they needed due to the stock in the science building, after months of research, trials, and errors, managed to develop a vaccine that prevented transmission via regular fluids from happening. every inhabitant of the sanctuary — except those who volunteered as test subjects — got a mandatory shot, as well as any newcomer must get one.
three years ago, the same group of scientists started trying for a gas that would, hopefully, force the infected to dispel. to clean the sanctuary’s surroundings was the main goal behind this trial.
poorly tested before the infiltration of the coalition, they discovered the gas had horrid effects on humans too, and despite this being the reason the antagonistic group couldn’t do any more damage to their home, the experts have been dealing with the consequences until today. read more about it here.
engineers and medical teams also developed a device to identify infected using saliva. every new member was tested at the gates before being sent to the quarantine shack, and scavengers and scouts get tested every time they’re back from their expeditions too.
as often happens with common rabies, some people get the virus but don’t develop clinical symptoms. they can live mostly a normal life, but since they’re carriers of the lyssa, they can infect others via unprotected sexual encounters, blood, and direct contact between open wounds and soft tissue. if you want your muse to be part of the immune carriers, please hit us up !
⸺ ABOUT LIFE OUTSIDE THE SANCTUARY.
as soon as the virus struck and countries realized they were facing a pandemic, governments worldwide gave their military forces leave to control the crisis and keep order, allowing them to do it under any means necessary.
specific, thoughtfully chosen cities ( those not too big to be hard to handle, but either too small to be considered towns ) in every country turned into safe zones, areas under governmental aid that stayed safe and stocked when everything around them fell into demise. the military took control to keep order and safety in these particular locations.
this, along with the government permissions, later became a problem, since the inflexibility of the forces and the abuse of their authority caused animosity among the people. deaths of innocents excused under flimsy justifications unleashed the inhabitants' wrath, igniting riots that eventually led to the downfall of several safe zones. only seven remain in the nation today.
governments in most countries still exist, as well as military forces. however, in the states and other big countries in each continent, governments have added high - ranked soldiers to their administration, a decision — a deal — that caused the numbers in the military ranks to diminish rather drastically in the last five years. only the most brutal, desensitized of them remain, which makes things very hard for the safe zones still standing.
numerous sanctuaries have been raised not only in the states, but in other parts of the world too. most of them keep communication with each other, but the uc had refused to engage — the amount of kids within the sanctuary stands as the main reason for this choice.
the closest sanctuary from the uc is located in colorado springs, where after a riot against the military and several losses, the safe zone’s remaining group of survivors secured a part of the city where a mall was placed and tried to prevail there. much like the uc’s people, they started to thrive with time and hard work.
after the infiltration, the uc council has considered the idea of making contact with them, to become each other’s support and aid system, but the fear of being intercepted by the coalition has kept them away from it.

Deoxys is more similar to a Ditto mixed with a strange space probe than a normal Pokemon. The creature didn't originally look like that, it didn't even have what we'd consider its "body" before it began to recieve various radio signals from Earth. It's physical form is the product of a failed attempt to mimic the planet's dominant life form ( ie. humans ) based on the most surface level understanding of our minds, souls and bodies. It struggles with communication and tends to find itself falling into the uncanny valley in its attempts at understanding us because we cannot understand its attempts at telepathy. ( It is an alien after all. )
The people who created it sent it out long ago as an attempt at outliving the death of their homeworld. They had thought they were alone in the universe and thus considered it an imperative to seed the empty cosmos with sapient life. Their space virus probes were meant to seek out habitable worlds and reshape the primative life forms living on them into something more akin to themselves.
The thousands of little proto-Deoxys have spent over a billion years traveling the cosmos since then, forced to fend for themselves in one of the harshest environments imaginable. They've been forced to evolve so much over that they've lost the ability to infect others but parts of their original imperative remains: find a world and begin anew; the universe is a strange and wonderful place, go out and explore what we cannot.
Like their creators, every Deoxys believes that they're alone in the universe until proven otherwise. Some are met with hostility and destroyed like the one in the Delta Episode. A few others might have even followed their sibling onto Earth. Many are still out there wandering the void still searching for a home. Perhaps they'll find one. Perhaps they'll meet their end without ever finding an answer to the fermi paradox. ( It's a numbers game after all and the universe is unimaginably vast. )

Isen’s primary goal is to turn Yuki from an empath into something more useful—an evolution of sorts. He wants to see if eventually Yuki can start to read minds, detect lies, or other things that would be ideal to have at his disposal. Isen doesn’t care if he has to torture Yuki into evolving and then staying, or keep those Yuki cares about captive. And he doesn’t even have to chase Yuki; He knows Yuki will come after him, essentially presenting himself on a silver platter.
