((OOC NOTE: Please read before interacting!!
Hey hey! Welcome to my Pokémon roleplay blog. On this blog I will be pretending as if the world of Pokémon is 100% real. This being said, I will be including pkmn rp tags in each post that fits that description as a warning.
Friendly reminder that if you try to engage a plot with me or any kind of offscreen rp experience without at least discussing it with me first, then I will likely not respond. Even if you do approach me with something in mind, there is no guarantee I will engage. Also I tend not to interact or engage in any big events. They tend to become overwhelming for me and you’ll most likely never find me becoming a part of them. Please don’t send in asks regarding big events.
If you are looking to interact with my muse, and your muse is tied to some potentially triggering topics, I would prefer if you discussed potential interactions with me first. This is for my own comfort, so please keep this in mind.
Admin is an adult! If this makes you uncomfortable then move along.
This is an RP blog for my own self insert. Not much to it, just be nice!
Please be aware that if something ever comes off as rude/mean, it does not reflect how I actually feel and is just how I believe my muse would react.
This blog is SFW, save for vaguely suggestive topics. Anything that is deemed as explicitly NSFW will be deleted on sight.
Another warning. This blog may often be involved in long RP threads. I won’t be using any programs to cut my long posts short. If this bothers you, I would recommend skipping this blog or blocking the tag “long post” or “rp thread”.
Also! I follow and like from @ripoff-robbie-rotten.

Have you thought of looking at the lore of the World of Darkness? It is the overarching world of Vampire the Masquerade amd Werewolf the Apocalypse, with a lot of unique takes on traditional folklore, religion, and mythology. I'd like to see what you think of it
Unfortunately you wouldn't see much what I think" about it because when it comes to World of Darkness I usually gobble things up and loses most critical thought X)
I am a HUGE, HUGE Changeling the Lost fan, and I also do enjoy a lot the Vampire the Masquerade lore. I only have a vague knowledge of the Vampire the Requiem remake, and I need to get into it in more details one of those days - and from what I understood and saw Changeling the Dreaming was indeed a bad game that Changeling the Lost surpassed in all ways. I did take a plunge into Werewolf the Apocalypse - especially because of the big evil company led by eldritch entities of chaos (that was my jam), though I have no knowledge of its remake - and I also did plan earlier to take a look at the two Mage games (but never could for now).
All in all I am a sucker for most World of Darkness/Chronicles of Darkness products - in terms of lore however cause I can't play them, but from what I udnerstood a LOT of people are just here for the lore and if they have to play they use the Vampire video games.
Though if you want my opinion for the actual over-arching world - I will confess, I actually do not care. I enjoy the lore and worldbuilding and twists of each games on its own, but when it comes to tying them all together into one universe I surprisingly find it the most boring part. Unless it is very well made, I tend to skip all the sections of books about crossovers.
As for "WoD vs CoD", I am a man who likes both and thinks they complement each other. WoD was the original, the start of the trend, ad it had this distinctive feel that you can't recreate anymore of the 90s/2000s Gothic and horror and dark urban fantasy - even though it also aged badly in some aspect, and alongside its best-sellers and masterpieces it had some really bad and flat instalments. CoD learns from its mistakes, takes new fresh twists, and brings a whole new ground of thought, inspiration and art to the table - and I will be forever thankful for Changeling the Lost. But I have to admit that several CoD games also lose a bit of the specific feel and specialty that made Wod special, resulting in several instalments either feeling too generic, too simplified, or just making them look pale and weak compared to their predecessors.
So overall it is a mixed bag.
If I ever made World of Darkness posts, it would be exposition posts where I just collect all info and shoot them back again X) Not much personal critical thought. But if people dig this up, why not? My original "creepy media" posts for the spooky season were the Magic the Gathring ones - but they are not doing quite well, so I can switch to posts about World of Darkness if that's what my audience wants! I just need to conclude the series of post for Dark Ascension that is stored in my drafts, and then I could switch to the White Wolf games

Welcome to The Bad Batch Appreciation Week 2023!!!
The time for appreciating Clone Force 99 is near! The prompts have been revealed HERE, so we must set some rules. Seems fair, right? So, here they are:
Event Info & Rules
TBB APPRECIATION WEEK is a week-long, prompt-based creation challenge to celebrate our love for the Batchers and the show. There are 7 groups of prompts—one for each day of the week—, which can be used, skipped, or combined in any way you’d like. They are meant to be an inspiration without being taken literally (i.e., you don’t have to include the exact wording of prompts in your work). Feel free to interpret them at your convenience. For example, if the prompt is “anooba”, you can create either something about the animal, use it as a name/mascot of a sports team in your modern-day/our Earth AU, or as an analogy for someone with a voracious appetite. It’s up to you.
Each group contains a character plus 5 different prompts (SFW, AU/Trope, Dialogue, NSFW, and a color palette). As it says above, you can use any, some, or all of them. Also there's also a short list of jokers/alternatives that you can use only one time each to replace any of the main prompts. The idea is to give everyone as much creative freedom as possible. The participants can create works in any media they choose, including but not limited to: writing, art, edits, gifs, videos, playlists, cosplays, etc. The only restriction is that it needs to be focused on The Bad Batch.
Also, people can participate as much or as little as they want, meaning that you don’t have to do ALL the days if you can't/ don’t want to.
Collaborations are welcome and even encouraged. For example, if an artist and a writer want to work together, or a writer and a podficcer, or two writers, go for it!
When uploading TBB Appreciation Week content to your Tumblr blog, be sure to mention this blog and add the following hashtags:
#tbbaw2023
#the character of the day
#day 1, #day 2, #day 3, etc… (the corresponding day)
#medium (gifset, fic, podcast, fanart, etc.)
#trigger warnings, if applies. (Please do NOT to add “tw” in front or at the end but only use the word/trigger itself, because the way Tumblr tag blocker feature works, it makes it harder for people to block the right tag.) (List of trigger warnings)
#prompt(s) used
#nsfw (only for NSFW content)
#any other relevant tags go here
PLEASE BE DILIGENT WITH YOUR TAGGING (both by mentioning the blog and putting the necessary tags). That'll ensure that your post will be reblogged on this blog.
I'll do my best to reblogged everyone's posts, but if it passes 2–3 days and I haven't posted yours, please let me know.
In addition, you can also add your work to the Ao3 Collection if you want.
If you are posting NSFW fics or art on Tumblr, I ask that you use the Keep Reading break and/or the Community Labels to hide the NSFW portion of your work; and please, give the proper warnings; (If you don't know how to do a keep reading break on mobile, go to this tutorial). On Ao3, please, use the correct rating and warnings as well.
There won't be censorship in this event, so everyone is free to create whatever they want. Participants are expected to hold judgment to themselves of others and their works, even if they don't agree with or find it repulsive. That means that harassment of anyone or anything that they post (even if said work is something you personally find morally reprehensible) WILL NOT BE TOLERATED. Anyone that breaks this rule will be banned from the event. Curate your own experience by blocking what upsets/squicks/triggers you, and leave everyone else alone. That's the importance of the correct tagging, as it says above.
If an author or artist has asked for constructive criticism, you may give it (with constructive being the keyword). However, refrain to give any of the unsolicited kind, as it can be discouraging for the author or artist.
Important!! Show support to other participants by liking, reblogging, AND commenting. But most of all, HAVE FUN!!! This is meant to be a lay-back event to show love for our favorite characters.
I'm looking forward to seeing what you all come up with!
If you have questions, you can check out the F.A.Q post. But if you don't find there the answer you're looking for, send me a message to the ask box or a DM, either in this blog or my fandom blog @nimata-beroya.
Thanks for reading, and happy creating!

Camp Digimonth Discord Events and Features
The Camp Digimonth Discord hosts a variety of events and features! The options can be overwhelming, so I will briefly describe everything in one place beneath the cut.
Participation in all events is optional. No need to push yourself!
-Small monthly goals
Participants are free to declare monthly creative goals in the goal announcement text channel.  These are not meant to be stretch goals; we encourage small, manageable, fun goals.  They are meant to help you care for yourself via regular creativity, not to push you.  The goals also don’t have to take the entire month.  You can declare a single week’s worth of goals, if you’d like, or skip a month!
-Create-ins
Create-ins are events held in the create-in voice channel. Folks who do not want to use voice can respond to speakers in the text response to vc text channel. During create-ins, discord members discuss their Digimon fan projects and request feedback, if desired. Participants can stream their Digimon art.
-Drawing Parties
A drawing party is a more relaxed create-in. We draw together and chat! The art generated does not have to be Digimon related for a drawing party, but it must obey the remaining server content rules. Drawing parties are held in the Community Hangout voice channel, with text responses in the text response to vc text channel.
-Monthly reblogging to this Tumblr blog
Discord members can drop a single link per month to the reblog to camp digimonth text channel. I will reblog those posts to the camp digimonth Tumblr blog. This is a way to share our work outside of the January event.
-Camp Digimonth Server Master Fanfic Collection
The Camp Digimonth server has a collection of fanfiction written by members on AO3! Check it out here! This is a great way to find Digimon fanfiction. Please check all ratings/content warnings before enjoying <3 If you want to add your fic to the collection, do so and let me know, so I can approve it (info on collections).
-Reading Parties

Final part of my long Analysis of the Hello Puppets midnight show trailer!
I copy and paste from the 2nd part because I'm very tired and I still need to add the tags, but also this is important info
First and foremost, please check the prior parts for congruency and seeing other interesting details and stupid jokes I added to this:
Part 1
Part 2
Here's a quick important note that you need to read first before diving into this long messy post:
TW: Scary imagery, demonic character, blood, saws, bear traps, gore
If you see this TW this will signify a trigger warning. I'll try to give some space to avoid individuals who do not which to see it time to skip it. SAFE means that you can read this part ^^
SPOILERS!!! is a new addition to those who do not want to be spoiled over certain puzzles presented in the BETA. END!!! means they are done
Majority of pictures are from the trailer, others will be credited to the sources along with a link)
Heavily suggest that you watch the trailer first because we're gonna get spoilers
Without further ado let's continue!
Tumblr media
Nick....why you look as if you ate at Taco Bell?!/j
I actually told this joke to @official-crucified-mortimer (I'm just tagging my friends because I love them)
Also.
A very creeping painting of your puppet staring at you?
Tumblr media
Put a spiderweb on it :D
Ok, jokes aside. I speculate that this is a strategy to deal with the puppets. Put party string on the posters so they cannot jump and attack you. I actually never thought it could be used that way.
Also, it looks like this is a new poster type. Looks pretty darn weird but Daisy has a similar pose
Tumblr media
I also forgot party string would be an item in this game so....
yeah
Tumblr media
I also noticed that in the trailer (spiderweb string thingy moment) we are carrying a poster for the game. I can't tell if it's the Mountain episode or Mike Masters. Maybe is a new one, but I find it curious that we have to carry one. Maybe it's for a puzzle in Nick's level or something.
Here's a far glance of Riley's map
Tumblr media
I wonder if we're going to a different part of the studio or a floor. I never really got how the studio was built. Also, what is up with the blue and red light?
Tumblr media
Stop it and got it by accident. I love it
also
HE HAS A SAW
TW: For saws and bear trap
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
Tumblr media
Two things I want to mention.
I think we got to see this on the BETA (not sure) it is in fact a Riley's level
The task we got
So this room actually gives me anxiety because it looks like the closing walls type of puzzle. I actually wonder how the hell did Riley got so many saws
but more importantly this:
Tumblr media
It looks like we are going to have to solve dangerous puzzles to unlock secret rooms. This is quite cool tbh
Quick side joke!
Tumblr media
I honestly love how pretty darn weird Daisy's traps are.
Also the fact that she placed a cupcake-
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
SAFE!
@sarilolla did mention, if I remember correctly, that perhaps we could get some audio logs
I found this icon while checking for things I missed
Tumblr media
This is going to be interesting!
TW: Gore, Scary imagery, demonic looking character, implied murder
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
I did see it on the trailer, and this was actually the first thing I stopped to look at see at.
Tumblr media
First things first, I love the drawing! Wonder who the artist is and I wonder if we are going to get more pictures like this from the other characters
Secondly, if you look up you will see that the battery task is also here
I have a small speculation about this:
I believe that the battery task may be for the final levels of each of the characters. My best guess is that each time we play the gallery, we are going to see the handeemen look more and more demonic as the game becomes harder.
This actually scared me a bit and it is well done!
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
SAFE!
Tumblr media
My best guess, is that this is going to be a scene short for the game. Based on the pose and the fact that we can see the puppet's doors. I can assume this may be a jumpscare
Tumblr media
Aperantly someone broke the collectable we got! I blame Owen >:[
Also, we get back the Mort-in-the-box for the first game! Cool reuse of assets and it's a bit weird seeing Mortimer's later design in the prequel game
Also
Tumblr media
The good boi
Quick glimpse of a very important escene
Tumblr media
I am not sure if this is a glance at the final level of the game (my speculation you maybe play against all the puppets (including Mortimer) or Mortimer is the final boss or this was teaching you the mechanics of the game
I also just wanted to show how one of the items suppose to work
Tumblr media
Poor Daisy :[
The safety ABC!
Always
Be
Careful
Tumblr media
This is quite hilarious. I applaud them.
Tumblr media
Another cutscene revealed in the Trailer it's just Mortimer with the girl as his hosts.
Tumblr media
There is nothing particularly scary about this place
Plz visit any time soon :D
Alright, those were all the details I could find in the trailer. Jokes aside, I'm going to be a lil serious in this ending conclusion.
I thought it would be great to address a quick cool observation I found when listening to the dialogue of the game. I like how there's a hit of a demonic voice when the characters are upset (excluding Mortimer)
I just thought it was a nice simple detail added
I do find curious Daisy and Nick's lines in the trailer.
Daisy demanding Owen to hug her seems strange to me, but also makes me think that perhaps she is one of the least evil characters. She is still the sweetest towards you as well as Nick. Makes me wonder if they actually do have a conscience or reflect their "in-show personality"
Regarding, Nick Nack's lines, outside the jokes of Daddy Issues
I do find interesting his desperation to get his father love. He appears alongside Mortimer to call Owen their father, it is a very curious fact about why Daisy doesn't
Riley is quite proud to admit Owen, out all people, is her father.
We did see a glimpse of Nick fighting over his instincts of hurting Owen in the game over scenes of the demo, so we do know that he appears to be the most emotional and the lesser evil of the four.
However, I found that his line
"LOOK AT ME, FATHER! LOOK AT ME! LOOK AT ME!"
It appears that Nick doesn't receive too much attention or wishes to be seen more. He did sound like a little toddler during that scene, but it did make me wondered why would he want that attention and why did the devs chose that line over.
I went back and decided to listen to each introduction Mortimer gave to each of the Handeemen, just curious to see if he happened to hint favoritism. I noticed this.
Out of the three, the longest time Mortimer talks about a Handeemen appears to be Riley's introduction, and she was the first
The shortest time he takes to introduce one of the members appears to be Nick, and he was the last.
His descriptions go to a bit detailed to just a basic overview.
Riley is the only one that Mortimer mentions what she can actually do. He just mentions that you can help Daisy bake a pie, and that Nick is a Thespian and an artist
He describes Nick in the vaguest way possible. He doesn't really mention his personality (although Mortimer says Daisy is the sweetest and harmless)
My best guess, this is either just a coincidence or another clue to get to know how Mortimer may have some preference over the Handeemen.
It appears that Riley is the favorite, my best guess is that she's the most cruel and evil in comparison to Nick and Daisy
Since Nick appears to be the lesser evil, Mortimer may favor him the least.
I also wanted to add a small speculation regarding Owen's character. Wondering more about some of the stuff he has seen on the trailer, I was thinking he's more of a morally gray character .He has done both good and bad but appears to be acting more for selfish reasons rather than heroic which I find interesting to see.
Overall, I'm eager to see how the midnight show will be and what facts will be given
Hope you all enjoy this long analysis ^^
Feel free to add to this.

Ok, so for part two of my feedback, my actual thoughts around this. more generally.
First, this is around the F1 worldbuilding. I used to watch it with my ex and his brother so I kinda get it but I'm not big on following sports. What I do enjoy is the behind-the-scenes, the pressure, drama, politics, emotional toll, etc, so I enjoyed the Netflix series. I think you're including just enough to get what's happening and what's at stake (either during the race, like the fraction of a second, to the type of maneuvres, or outside of it, like how 25 points are so detrimental and how loosing to Max is what's she's been running away from this whole time - I'm proud I remember this actually from my actual F1 knowledge). There's not too much detail to the point that it's overwhelming or boring for someone who isn't a fan, but just enough to set the stage and make us invested. I wouldn't usually seek out to read about sports in general, but I think I would read other fics of yours in this setting based on this.
Second, damn I feel for Dilara, the pressure of the position she's in would be huge anyway, but to add to this being the first woman racing with the men (wow imagine this actually happening... it hasn't right?), to loose 25 points over a teenager on a Vespa when you're already stressed to the max, man she needs a hug and a drink and an island holiday, away from all things BTS lol.
Also, I like how you've written this timeline. Like you've skipped a huge plot point, then slowly revealed it, with a tini tiny bit of info at a time. Keeping us on the edge of our seats, I like it. Also, the way all of their stories show such different couples. This one is probably the most dramatic, I like that some of them provide us comfort (i.e. Namjoon x Kaya & Jungkook x Lia - JK & L my faves I miss them, good old fluff is needed to cleanse us from the stress of Jimin & Tae), others not so much lol.
Your fics are a unique collection of cohesive works, with enough realism and distinction between stories, also with OC with clear and defined personalities, that I find myself being extremely enthralled by your work.
Overall, 10/10 looking forward to whichever member you choose to post next because you could write about Spongebob at this point and I know I'd enjoy it. This is to say that regardless of my go-to preferences for casual reading, I will always enjoy your stories.
Thank you for coming to my Ted talk, it is now 2am and I should crash soon.
Be still, my heart
Firstly, I LOVE that there are a few readers mentioning how they used to watch F1 or maybe watch DTS or have like a bit of knowledge and it's all suddenly coming in handy 😂 But absolutely, the important stuff isn't about who's in which team or how the race is going but the nuances of it, like what a big deal 25 points is or how quickly drivers can lose a seat. I'm not a sports buff by any means either but I absolutely love F1 and I need to make a conscious effort to not detail out unnecessary stuff (my initial drafts are so much more race heavy - exciting, but only if you're a diehard fan).
Timeline: yesss. I thought about it quite a bit, about making it linear or doing it this way but in the end, I chose to kind of mirror how it happened to Dilara. Again, not giving anything away, but it's a fair sense of foreboding before the truth hits her in the face and that shock is still kind of staying with her.
I'm so glad you love the different couples! Different people have different dynamics and I can't imagine Seokjin, for example, having this level of drama in his life. He just wouldn't have the patience for it while Tae, despite everything, is such a passionate person that he would lowkey like a certain level of drama (not this level, but a Confessions level probably). Namjoon and Kaya probably think themselves too mature for stuff like this and Jungkook and Lia are way more laidback - so there's something for everyone <3
Thank you so much for enjoying my work and my OCs (my loves) AND taking out the time for such a fantastic review. Honestly hoping to post the first Yoongi and Hoseok ones soon so that all characters are truly interconnected so I hope you enjoy those as well!

Shadowkeep Campaign Retrospective
I've been playing through the rest of the Shadowkeep campaign in the past day on Hunter and Titan, after having just done the first mission on those characters and completed the whole thing once on Warlock 3 years ago. I didn't play Shadowkeep when it came out since I had 0 interest in a 3 month then gone forever seasonal model vs a yearly pass, so it's hard for me to judge Shadowkeep in a vacuum.
Fandom rumor has it that Shadowkeep development was really negatively affected by Bungie separating from Activision, and that theory seems plausible when playing the campaign story years later and comparing it to Beyond Light which also had development hurdles due to covid. Despite the hurdles, Beyond Light felt like it had more stuff to do, helped by a new sublcass and new varieties of enemies like Brigs and Wyverns.
The campaign quests and post campaign activities (find 3 different types of collectables, Deathbringer quest, Alter of Sorrorws public event, do Nightmare Hunts again with champions) feel bare and closer in content level to the current seasons that started after s13 than expansions like Witch Queen or Lightfall. Nightmare Hunts even in the campaign only have a few lines of dialogue and some only have it at the end; the scarcity really stands compared to missions in later expansions and seasonal activities which while having a few lines have a lot of variety.
Most of the campaign levels are the "XYZ Hunt" that started in Forsaken with the Scorned Barons and continued through Beyond Light with the Empire Hunts, and wow are they short especially when above 1600 power level. I timed myself on the missions and it usually took longer to run to the boss than kill it (Phogoth: 4:30 to run there, 2:29 to kill him). Remembering that Armor 2.0 was introduced in Shadowkeep explains the design choice of why Nightmare Hunts have their own armor and Dreambane mod that only works on that armor; to introduce players to the new system so by the end of the campaign they have a full set of armor. However that mechanic has aged so poorly that it makes the Nightmare Hunts dead content; the Nightmare Hunt armor does not drop with good stats so doing post campaign Nightmare Hunts at higher difficulties means you are making a tradeoff between good gear vs bosses designed to be fought with multiple of the Dreambane mods equipped. Lightfall has put that dead content fucking 6 feet under: Legend and Master difficulties are now power capped so you can't power grind to get around the armor problem. If you haven't done the Team Flawless Master Nightmare Hunt triumph yet or the time trials, you're shit out of luck.
My favorite mission entirely because of the atmosphere and vibes was stealing the Cryptolith. Great sense of horror to be in the place Eris lost her fireteam as you stand on points with just your ghost as a flashlight as Hive come screaming out of the darkness, and then at the end where you have to run away as more and more Hive appear to chase you. The Cunning level in Witch Queen was very similar just with more development resources so there's a fun sparrow section.
A fun comparison: Shadowkeep's main protagonist is Eris with Ikora supporting, and Witch Queen's main protagonist is Ikora with Eris supporting. In Shadowkeep the parts of the campaign directly with Eris are phenomenal, I enjoy her character enough to be motivated to spend a few hours finding collectables which is something I normally skip.
The worse comparison is despite how most of the events of Shadowkeep were orchestrated by Savathun, unless you go reading through the lore (including not ingame weblore) you will never learn that vs Witch Queen where relevant info like that is communicated directly to the player. Shadowkeep ends on a deliberately ominous note as Eris stares directly into the camera after communing with Darkness, a plot thread that really went nowhere other than "is Eris evil?!?!" fandomwank, how I wish that had been a Savathun stinger reveal instead.
Shadowkeep also served as the prologue to the current Light/Dark storyarc, where the ending mission is finally exploring the Pyramid and briefly fighting the Hunt bosses over again as then mysterious presence (The Witness) talks about the flaws of the light. It's interesting to look at the fun ending scene in the Black Garden with our Darkness!pilled Doppleganger, and see the vague outline that over the course of 3+ years was developed into The Witness whose backstory was just revealed.

Personal journal. Discussion of chronic pain.
Well I'm paying for Dratini Comminity Day/the Gimmeghoul tie in. My parents told me to stay home from dinner out because of my pain. Whose bright idea was it to tack on an event that needs MORE spoons on top of an event I already have trouble making it through. I had to skip the first half of Dratini Day just to save the stamina for the second event.
And then they have to reveal that Gimmeghoul makes people collect coins and it was probably a big meta-commentary about how people will search for collectibles even if there's no info about them or any incentive...joke's on them, I'll hunt for shiny things anyway. Most of us are ghouls in that regard.
Sometimes I wish I could physically fight my chronic illness. After all this f*****y with college and realizing that the career I went to grad school wasn't doable, now I've got a volunteer tutoring gig that I honestly cherish, and by any metric it isn't difficult, but...first I can't even get in room. It's got stairs. So they post me at the table outside, and make kids leave their fun room to sit with me. Luckily I've had the opportunity to complain about this to a few people. But then the job is kicking my ass anyway. My hip pain will barely let me do two 2.5 hour sessions a week. And then I end up exhausted and almost sick.
High school would have been impossible with this pain. I'd just be homeschooled. And that's the thing. The tough part is I'm performing better than expected. This hip problem is a big deal. My pain doctor wants me on Oxycontin. One time she almost gave me at-home morphine.
And then there are certain realities about severe pain when it comes to your personal life.
You know what, I appreciate Gimmeghoul. Sometimes a shiny coin is more than a shiny coin. It's an occasion to go out, track down dragons and gold, find a night market, eat some birria ramen. As they say, it's about the journey. And I am always fighting for more spoons to journey with.

//plops down at table with three notebooks//
Good evening.
You shall now be the subject of my rambling and info-dumping, seeing as you have recently reblogged a post about invading your ask box to do just that.
So, buckle up, my beloved mutual, for I am about to talk your damn ears off.
We all know historians are heterosexist shabuire, yes? Yes? Good. So I've taken it upon myself to send an f-you to all of them and collect evidence for one of the historically accurate ships they so desperately try to erase. The one in question here is, of course, Alexander Hamilton x John Laurens, or more commonly known as Lams.
I've done... a lot of research, to put it mildly. And yes, as a matter of fact, I do consider reading letters from the late 1700s and screaming because I can feel my heart MELTING as research.
Anygay, there's a lot that I have right now so I'll just hit the highlights, because if I go completely in-depth with everything I've found, this'll be thousands of words longer.
The year is 1779. The month, April. The date... unknown. Which sucks. Alexander and John have fought together for years at this point and are very close... friends. This is the first time they've been truly separated. The letter open with:
"Cold in my professions, warm in my friendships, I wish, my Dear Laurens, it might be in my power, by action rather than words, to convince you that I love you. I shall only tell you that ’till you bade us Adieu, I hardly knew the value you had taught my heart to set upon you. Indeed, my friend, it was not well done. You know the opinion I entertain of mankind, and how much it is my desire to preserve myself free from particular attachments, and to keep my happiness independent on the caprice of others. You should not have taken advantage of my sensibility to steal into my affections without my consent. But as you have done it and as we are generally indulgent to those we love, I shall not scruple to pardon the fraud you have committed, on condition that for my sake, if not for your own, you will always continue to merit the partiality, which you have so artfully instilled into me."
So pretty much what this opening paragraph is saying is this: "*Sexual innuendo* And I'll keep telling you that until you die. So you know I hate everyone and don't want to have any attachments to anyone. But you've managed to worm your way into my heart, even though I didn't want it. So now that you've done it, please keep doing it, for you if not for me."
Now that's just hella gay. Like, hella fucking gay.
The middle paragraphs are mainly talk about the war, so skipping those for the end because that's when things get spicy as FUCK.
Alexander asks John to find him a wife and goes into great detail about exactly what he wants in a wife. I saw a theory somewhere (I can't remember where) that Alexander was actually describing John and yeah, it pretty much checks out. Keeping in mind deliberate irony is a thing.
So then he goes on to say: "...mind you do justice to the length of my nose and don't forget, that I ⟨– – – – –⟩." 'Nose' is a slang term. And the - - - - - are crossed out words. We'll get to those later.
The last sentence of this letter is: "I have gratified my feelings, by lengthening out the only kind of intercourse now in my power with my friend." and I find this. So. Sweet. He's pretty plainly missing John. And just- he uses the word intercourse. How- how is that platonic? This is gay. They're gay. It's gay.
In almost all the letters that survived, they're signed with "Yours", "Affectionately Yrs.", "Yrs most sincerely", "Yr affectionate", and "Yrs forever" from Alexander. "Adieu, my dear boy", "My love as usual", "You know the unalterable sentiments of your affectionate Laurens", and "Yours ever" all came from John, with the last being the most common. That's... also not terribly straight. Something additionally interesting is that John's father, Henry Laurens, called his wife, Elenor, "Dear girl." That would make it explicitly romantic in his eyes. John also called his wife that in the only surviving letter from him to her. Oh yeah, he's married and has a kid, btw.
So pretty much how that happened was John's boyfriend Francis Kinloch broke up with him, he banged Martha probably 'cause he was sad and pissed and had a lot of feelings, she got pregnant, then he married her out of pity. Alexander knew none of that. And they were really close. The only reason he found out was because he happened to stumble upon some stuff he shouldn't have, and he was pissed. The whole paragraph about him detailing the wife he wanted? Pretty much petty payback.
Devoted is an interesting word, isn't it? Stronger than it's synonyms, such as caring or loyal. So if we skip ahead a few years, Alexander is engaged to Eliza. He tells John about this, John responds, and in his next letter he says: "...as if after matrimony I was to be less devoted than I am now." He's telling him, "Don't worry, I'll still love you as much as I always have. Just because I'm getting married, it doesn't change my feelings for you." Again. Heterosexual explanation? None.
" I hate Congress—I hate the army—I hate the world—I hate myself. The whole is a mass of fools and knaves; I could almost except you and Meade." Keep in mind that at this point now, Alexander was married. And he didn't include his wife in the exemptions. Only John and one of his closest friends, Richard Meade. Dunno 'bout you, but that seems rather telling to me. He also says at the end: "My ravings are for your own bosom." And I can't. His ravings are for John's heart I can't.
These are just some of the highlights of my nearly six thousand word book on this subject. I would happily copy/paste it all, but I'm not gonna subject you to that XD For full viewing the link is here, should you wish to listen to me ramble and rant in more detail.
Thank you for allowing me to dump this all on your lap, and I shall now bid you adieu. //vanishes back into the shadows//
HI, sorry it took me so long to answer this, I’ve had a pretty full-on day.
This was actually super interesting to read. I actually did a little bit of research into this about a year ago, when I was writing Lams fanfiction, so I knew about the ‘cold in my professions, warm in my friendships” letter, but not any of the others, so thanks for this!! It was a really fascinating read, and I definitely learned a lot from reading it. Have a good day :)

As a fellow adhd librarian, I can't help but ask....how do you deal with the lull times when you have maaaaaybe 4 patrons an hour, you have finished all your projects and there are NO at desk tasks to be done, but SOMEONE just blew it for everyone by being caught doing her homework and ignoring the ONE patron who wanted help, and now you have desk hours and have nothing to do and all computers and books are banned. *twitch* I might have a bit of an issue with boredom right now.
First, that sucks, completely. Curse that ~*~someone~*~ who ruined everything for the rest of you.
Second…can you not use your own computer, or is there not a computer at the desk? If there’s nothing at the desk at all, I am out of ideas and the only thing I can think of is having a chat with whoever makes the rules and being like, “Hey, we agree I’m a good worker, and I get my stuff done, but that means that sometimes I’m at this desk for literal hours with no projects and nothing to do.” Get them to agree that you should be able to do something, even if it’s “only reading magazines/books from the library collection” or something. ‘Cause otherwise, jeez that’s cruel.
If there is a computer at the desk, I have some go-to websites I can browse–nothing objectionable, makes me look busy if someone comes up (because I’m obviously working on the computer!), etc.
If I have a project (however tenuous it is), I can justify searching for resources for it. My projects include:
Bulletin board creation. I can trawl Pinterest and the internet for inspiration anywhere. And once I have inspiration, I need info on the topic…which could be poetry, or cooking, or gardening, or chickens, or whatever.
Helping with collection management for our young adult and graphic novel collections. I haven’t done much but hey, I should probably read these blogs about YA book reviews, right?
Posting to social media, so I look up articles on how to do that engagingly, and I look at other accounts for inspiration/things to share/hashtags to join/tweets to retweet
If using a desk computer is something feasible for you, some ideas for non-project fun things, moving from “okay probably anywhere that lets you on the computer” to “use your best judgement about whether this would fly in your workplace”:
Start with more academic resources (this looks better if someone sees the screen). At my library, I’ll browse our digitized archival collections because I think reading 40+-year-old student newspapers/yearbooks is interesting (and I can get ideas for #ThrowbackThursday posts).
Other university/library/museum digitized collections are also fair game. I have some links in my blog (tagged “link”) and I just save a bunch of stuff when I see something interesting. Places like the Smithsonian’s digitized stuff, or links I find on Twitter by scientists and archaeologists, etc.
Local/national newspapers. If you can get it approved, you could try reading physical copies at the desk, but at my library we also have a digital subscription of the local paper included. And through some library databases, I can read things like the New York Times (or specific articles) without using my “10 free articles a month” thing.
Also, NPR, BBC and other reputable news sites that will have stuff like book reviews, features, etc. On my to-read list is NPR’s “Reading the Game” occasional feature, which looks at video games from a literary perspective.
The Awful Library Books blog is fun and interesting
Mental Floss is also informative and fun
Ask a Manager is great, and directly related to work (in fact, I used it to help me figure out a firing last year), with all the intrigue and gawking you get with an advice column.
Other blogs that are safe for work. So, not The Bloggess because language and stuff that people wouldn’t like in my workplace, but Cake Wrecks and Epbot and Book Riot (maybe not technically a blog, but whatevs) are OK for me.
(IDK about anyone else, but once I’ve read enough recent stuff to know I like a blog, I then try to go back and read things in chronological order. I’ll skip/skim boring stuff, but otherwise, this is a good way to make blog-reading last a while.)
Ebooks! In your library, or Project Gutenberg’s online HTML pages, or through the Internet Archive, etc.
Fanfiction, but probably only if you’ve checked its tags/warnings/visual ahead of time. Like, save a direct link to a fic that’s the equivalent of PG. Start curating a SFW list. When in doubt, don’t browse or search for new fics at the desk. You’d hate for someone to come up behind you just as you scroll past something that’s warned for fisting.
Webcomics–most are colorful so this is really only if it’s completely okay for you to be obviously (to someone who can see the screen) not Doing Work-Work. There are ones like Hark! A Vagrant and XKCD (along with Explain XKCD, and the What If? blog) that are black and white, but most have color. You’d have to decide about contents and propriety. FWIW, I enjoyed reading Hyperbole and a Half (blog/comic combo, inactive), Adventures of Superhero Girl (complete),  Girl Genius, and Gunnerkrigg Court (ongoing).
I hope you’re allowed to do something, Anon! Does anyone else have any suggestions?
