First Reading 1 John 5:14-21 God hears us in regard to whatever we ask.
Beloved: We have this confidence in God, that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. And if we know that he hears us in regard to whatever we ask, we know that what we have asked him for is ours. If anyone sees his brother sinning, if the sin is not deadly, he should pray to God and he will give him life. This is only for those whose sin is not deadly. There is such a thing as deadly sin, about which I do not say that you should pray. All wrongdoing is sin, but there is sin that is not deadly.
We know that no one begotten by God sins; but the one begotten by God he protects, and the Evil One cannot touch him. We know that we belong to God, and the whole world is under the power of the Evil One. We also know that the Son of God has come and has given us discernment to know the one who is true. And we are in the one who is true, in his Son Jesus Christ. He is the true God and eternal life. Children, be on your guard against idols.
The Word of the Lord
R/ Thanks be to God.
Responsorial Psalm Psalm 149:1-2, 3-4, 5 and 6a and 9b
R/ The Lord takes delight in his people. or R/ Alleluia.
Sing to the LORD a new song of praise in the assembly of the faithful. Let Israel be glad in their maker, let the children of Zion rejoice in their king.
R/ The Lord takes delight in his people. or R/ Alleluia.
Let them praise his name in the festive dance, let them sing praise to him with timbrel and harp. For the LORD loves his people, and he adorns the lowly with victory.
R/ The Lord takes delight in his people. or R/ Alleluia.
Let the faithful exult in glory; let them sing for joy upon their couches; Let the high praises of God be in their throats. This is the glory of all his faithful. Alleluia.
R/ The Lord takes delight in his people. or R/ Alleluia.
Gospel Acclamation Luke 7:16
Alleluia, alleluia. A great prophet has arisen in our midst and God has visited his people. Alleluia, alleluia.
Gospel John 2:1-11 Jesus did this as the beginning of his signs at Cana in Galilee.
There was a wedding at Cana in Galilee, and the mother of Jesus was there. Jesus and his disciples were also invited to the wedding. When the wine ran short, the mother of Jesus said to him, “They have no wine.” And Jesus said to her, “Woman, how does your concern affect me? My hour has not yet come.” His mother said to the servers, “Do whatever he tells you.” Now there were six stone water jars there for Jewish ceremonial washings, each holding twenty to thirty gallons. Jesus told them, “Fill the jars with water.” So they filled them to the brim. Then he told them, “raw some out now and take it to the headwaiter.” So they took it. And when the headwaiter tasted the water that had become wine, without knowing where it came from (although the servers who had drawn the water knew), the headwaiter called the bridegroom and said to him, “veryone serves good wine first, and then when people have drunk freely, an inferior one; but you have kept the good wine until now.” Jesus did this as the beginning of his signs at Cana in Galilee and so revealed his glory, and his disciples began to believe in him.
The Gospel of the Lord
R/ Praise to you, Lord Jesus Christ.

(Readings for the memorial)
(There is a choice today between the readings for the ferial day (Saturday) and those for the memorial. The ferial readings are recommended unless pastoral reasons suggest otherwise)
First Reading 2 Corinthians 5:14-20 He has given us the ministry of reconciliation.
Brothers and sisters: The love of Christ impels us, once we have come to the conviction that one died for all; therefore, all have died. He indeed died for all, so that those who live might no longer live for themselves but for him who for their sake died and was raised. Consequently, from now on we regard no one according to the flesh; even if we once knew Christ according to the flesh, yet now we know him so no longer. So whoever is in Christ is a new creation: the old things have passed away; behold, new things have come. And all this is from God, who has reconciled us to himself through Christ and given us the ministry of reconciliation, namely, God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting their trespasses against them and entrusting to us the message of reconciliation. So we are ambassadors for Christ, as if God were appealing through us. We implore you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God.
The Word of the Lord
R/ Thanks be to God.
Responsorial Psalm Psalm 103:1bc-2, 3-4, 8-9, 13-14, 17-18
R/ O, bless the Lord, my soul!
Bless the LORD, O my soul; and all my being, bless his holy name! Bless the LORD, O my soul; and forget not all his benefits.
R/ O, bless the Lord, my soul!
He pardons all your iniquities, he heals all your ills. He redeems your life from destruction, he crowns you with kindness and compassion.
R/ O, bless the Lord, my soul!
Merciful and gracious is the LORD, slow to anger and abounding in kindness. He will not always chide, nor does he keep his wrath forever.
R/ O, bless the Lord, my soul!
As a father has compassion on his children, so the LORD has compassion on those who fear him, For he knows how we are formed; he remembers that we are dust.
R/ O, bless the Lord, my soul!
But the kindness of the LORD is from eternity to eternity toward those who fear him, And his justice toward their children’s children among those who keep his covenant.
R/ O, bless the Lord, my soul!
Gospel Acclamation Luke 21:36
Alleluia, alleluia. Be vigilant at all times and pray that you may have the strength to stand before the Son of Man. Alleluia, alleluia.
Gospel Luke 12:35-40 You must also be prepared.
Jesus said to his disciples: “Gird your loins and light your lamps and be like servants who await their master’s return from a wedding, ready to open immediately when he comes and knocks. Blessed are those servants whom the master finds vigilant on his arrival. Amen, I say to you, he will gird himself, have them recline at table, and proceed to wait on them. And should he come in the second or third watch and find them prepared in this way, blessed are those servants. Be sure of this: if the master of the house had known the hour when the thief was coming, he would not have let his house be broken into. You also must be prepared, for at an hour you do not expect, the Son of Man will come.”
The Gospel of the Lord
R/ Praise to you, Lord Jesus Christ.

RHAPSODY OF REALITIES DAILY DEVOTIONAL

YOUR “NEED” ACTIVATES YOUR FAITH
And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God. For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith (Mark 11:22-23).
PASTOR CHRIS OYAKHILOME PHD
Someone once said, “I’ve never seen anybody move a mountain with faith; was Jesus just using symbolism or did He mean what He said in Mark 11:22-23? Can you really command a mountain to move?”
Yes, Jesus meant it. But Jesus wasn’t talking about a game. He wasn’t saying that we go out in the street and say, “I’m here to show you how powerful I am”; then you start commanding mountains and buildings to move. No!
The question is, why would you want to move a physical mountain; to what intent and purpose? Our faith is always connected to our needs. If there’s no need for it, there’ll be no faith to it. So, you may find yourself trying to make something happen that’ll not happen because there’s no need to activate faith in the first place.
Faith is activated only when there’s a need for it. When you find yourself in a situation and you have a “need,” don’t despair; that need will activate your faith. It’s like the woman who was told she’d never be able to get pregnant. That news activated her faith, and soon enough, she had her baby. Until she heard that she would never have a baby, she didn’t know she could have one with her faith.
The same can be said of the fellow who was healed of cancer; he didn’t know he could make it happen until he was told he had only one month to live. The news triggered his faith, and he began to declare, “I shall not die but live,” and indeed, he was healed. Hallelujah!
Never be overwhelmed with your need; rather, let your needs connect to your faith. Let your needs excite you. Once you connect to a need, that’s your opportunity to overwhelm your need with your faith. Praise God!
CONFESSION
In Christ, I’m self-sufficient. I was born into an incorruptible, inexhaustible inheritance. My faith is the victory that overcomes the world! I’ve overcome the world and its systems and structures. My path is that of glory and excellence, victory, success, joy, health, and prosperity which God has ordained for me. I walk in dominion. Hallelujah!
FURTHER STUDY:
Romans 4:19-20 And being not weak in faith, he considered not his own body now dead, when he was about an hundred years old, neither yet the deadness of Sarah's womb: 20 He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God;
2 Corinthians 4:17-18 For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory; 18 While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.
Philemon 1:6 That the communication of thy faith may become effectual by the acknowledging of every good thing which is in you in Christ Jesus.

A LEADER'S REPUTATION
1 THIS is a faithful saying: If a man desires the position of a Bishop, he desires a good work.
2 A bishop then must be BLAMELESS, the husband of one wife, TEMPERATE, sober-minded, of good behavior, hospitable, ABLE TO TEACH;
3 NOT given to WINE, NOT VIOLENT, NOT GREEDY FOR MONEY, but GENTLE, not quarrelsome, not covetous;
4 one who rules his own house well, having his children in submission with all reverence
5 (for if a man does not know how to rule his own house, how will he take care of the church of God?);
6 not a NOVICE, lest being puffed up with pride he fall into the same condemnation as the devil.
7 Moreover he must have A GOOD TESTIMONY [reputation] AMONG THOSE WHO ARE OUTSIDE [the church], lest he fall into reproach and the snare of the devil."
1 Timothy 3:1-7 (NKJV)
Tumblr media
• Social Qualifications.
- Whoever would work in God's vineyard should be above any reproach:
(i) Having a good reputation with Christians: "SO A CHURCH LEADER MUST BE A MAN WHOSE LIFE IS ABOVE REPROACH. HE must be faithful to his wife. HE must exercise self-control, live wisely, AND HAVE A GOOD REPUTATION. He must enjoy having guests in his home, and he must be able to teach" (1 Timothy 3:2 NLT).
(ii) Having a good reputation with Non-Christians: "ALSO, PEOPLE OUTSIDE THE CHURCH MUST SPEAK WELL OF HIM [a bishop, a pastor, or an elder] SO that he will NOT BE DISGRACED AND FALL INTO THE DEVIL'S TRAP" (1 Timothy 3:7 NLT).
READ: 1 Peter 2:11,12
- A leader who practices what he preaches or teaches, provokes the unbelievers to consider submitting their lives to Christ.
• Ministry related Qualifications.
(iii) Such must be able to teach (1 Timothy 3:2).
- All leaders would need to do some teachings as one of their primary responsibilities of their leadership role.
- Teaching is a GIFT (Romans 12:6,7; 1 Corinthians 12:28; Ephesians 4:11). HOWEVER, the skills could be developed if the assigned leader pay attention to it through adequate study and preparation in the Word of God.
- All leaders who work at it could do it with a few measure or level, or an amount of proficiency.
• A Leader's behaviour (1 Timothy 3:2,3).
- A person's character cannot be assessed properly until such is seen under pressures.
- How would a person react when things get difficult? The pressure may come from different sources such as; adverse circumstances, temptations, or difficult people to deal with.
(i) A good leader is temperate (1 Timothy 3:2). The one who exercises moderation. A number of people want to believe they are not born temperate. But if a person, who is a believer, works at it; he or she would be.
a. In fact, temperate or temperance is one of the character elements which Apostle Peter said every believer should add to their faith:
5 BUT for this very reason also, using therewith all diligence, IN your faith have also virtue, IN virtue knowledge, 6 IN knowledge TEMPERANCE, IN temperance ENDURANCE, IN endurance GODLINESS" (2 Peter 1:5,6 (DARBY).
b. The temperance is also known as self control (1 Timothy 3:2). A discipline state of mind, not impulsive, and not given to extremest. A self controlled person does not overreact in crises.
(ii) A good leader is respectable (1 Timothy 3:2). Such can be trusted to keep his or her words. A man or woman of Integrity.
(iii) Not given to wine (1 Timothy 3:3). A person who drinks alcoholic beverages generally cannot have a good reputation with outsiders.
(iv) A good Ministry leader is not violent (1 Timothy 3:3). In other words, such is not a giver of blows.
(v) Not quarrelsome (1 Timothy 3:3). Disinclined to fighting. Peaceable. Conciliatory.
(vi) He or she is gentle (2 Corinthians 10:1; Philippians 4:5).
(vii) Not a lover of money (1 Timothy 3:3). A leader must have developed a strict financial Discipline before such is appointed to Leadership.
• You will not fail in Jesus' name.
Peace!

I Broke Them All
MEMORY VERSE OF THE WEEK
=========================
+ 1 Corinthians 15:33 Do not be deceived: “Bad company ruins good morals.”
=========================
VERSE OF THE DAY
========================
+James 2:9 But if you favor some people over others, you are committing a sin. You are guilty of breaking the law.
=========================
** SAY THIS BEFORE YOU READ; HERE’S SOME CHRISTIAN AFFIRMATION **
I AM LIVING FOR CHRIST
I AM SURRENDERING TO HIM
I AM HIS
I AM BLESSED BY THE BEST
********************************
THOUGHTS:
=======================
When we look at sin, we have a tendency to look at the size, but what we have to stop doing is looking at the size or content of sin and look at sin as sin. Why do we look at murder as bigger than gluttony or fornication as more sinful than gossip when God considers all sins the same? The moment we look at all sin as sin and not measure it, then we will stop doing this because then we understand that EVERY SIN IS PLACES US AWAY FROM GOD.
In today's verse, it says when we favor some over other people, that is a sin! Have you ever done this? Have you ever favored someone over another, or have you ever given someone special treatment while miss treating others? We often look down on one group of people because of something we dislike, or maybe they act a certain way, so we place them lower, but what we are doing when we have this mindset is judging!
Verse 8 “ Yes indeed, it is good when you obey the royal law as found in the Scriptures: “Love your neighbor as yourself.”
The Bible tells us nine times to love our neighbors; this is the most critical command that he’s asking us to do, but a lot of us fall short because we refuse to love someone, we refuse to show it, we refuse to care, we refuse to CHANGE, but in order to grow and to change our ways we must be willing !! To change who we are and submit to God.
Verse “10 For the person who keeps all of the laws except one is as guilty as someone who has broken all of God’s laws. “
When a person keeps all the law, but one is still have broken them all, can you imagine you do everything the spirit of God ask you except one, and the word says we still haven’t done enough? Because when we walk in God, we can’t cut out what we don’t want to do to the Bible; the Bible isn’t a copy-and-paste kind of thing; it’s wearing it and letting God TRANSFORM YOU! It’s a wear-it and he will make it fit kind of thing! It’s a put-it-on, and it show you how to make it fit perfectly if you allow HIM to!
We can’t tell God what we don’t want to do! That’s not how we come before God; we must go before him humbly !!! We must understand that the Christian lifestyle or walk isn’t for us to say what we don’t want to, but it’s what we will submit to!!
Verse 11 “For the same God who said, “You must not commit adultery,” also said, “You must not murder.”So if you murder someone but do not commit adultery, you have still broken the law.”
The Bible tells us again we break the law when we do one and not the other! The Bible is reproofing us and rebuking us from sin that’s in our life, but some of us want to ignore it and say the pastor is picking on us. No, he isn’t; it’s in the word of God; when you look upon a man or a woman in lust, your sinning friends! Cut straight to the point! Understand our flesh doesn’t want to be tamed; our flesh wants to mistreat others and do whatever it wants to do, but God is saying this isn’t the way !!
Verse 13 “ There will be no mercy for those who have not shown mercy to others. But if you have been merciful, God will be merciful when he judges you.”
See, when we have favorites, and we judge others, we are not showing mercy, so how do we expect God to show us mercy, friends, if we are always sitting in the judgment seat, we must be careful what we do! We must be careful what we say! Because we will want mercy shown to us at the most vulnerable time, and we probably won’t receive it, but the thing is, God would show us mercy because he’s not like us, he’s not petty, he doesn’t do what we do he’s a God that looks from on high and looks low at what we are doing things we do and what we think we have gotten away with we haven’t! Start turning your motives into good ones.
“1 John 3:4 Everyone who makes a practice of sinning also practices lawlessness; sin is lawlessness.”
The last verse of today tells us that when we sin, we are practicing lawlessness! When we sin, it is what it is; it’s an offense towards God; it doesn’t matter what sin it is, we have offended God, and we must take an account we have to stop calling and making sin sound smaller than what it is when all sin puts at a distance with God, but we have to learn to accept this and learn to turn away, even if it’s favoritism, we have to learn to change so that we may live in our true identity.
*** Today, favoritism seems small, and it seems harmless to a few, but it’s considered a sin, and it’s considered hate; we can’t live with just a few people, and we can’t look at this particular sin as minor because when we commit this sin, God sees it as sin, every day we must try to please God with our life and actions, every day we have to units given to us to change and we can only change when WE TRULY SEE WHAT WE ARE DOING, do you see? Do you understand how favoritism looks to God? If so, ask God to help you conquer his particular sin today. ©Seer~ Prophetess Lee

PRAYER
========================
Heavenly Father, help us to see the error of our ways, help us to do what you want from us, and help us to allow a change in, lord we ask you right now to pour your love and mercy over us; please don’t skip over us please forgive us of the sins we have committed we desire to make you happy every day, not just today! Lord, give us peace in our life; help us to see what we have done wrong and to see we need more of you! Lord, we surrender to you right now! We give you every aspect of our life to change. Lord, help us to understand today’s devotional and to change the way we do things. Lord, we ask right now if it’s anything stopping us or a person, please remove them; in Jesus' Name Amen

Open Heaven 11th February 2023 Daily Devotional Saturday
MESSAGE: open heavens daily devotional for today I was reading my letters one day when I noticed two whose writers had the same surname – the first was from a woman asking me to pray that God would kill her mother-in-law because she was a witch. The second was from the mother-in-law, asking me to pray that God would kill her daughter-in-law because she was a witch. Of course I disregarded both prayer requests as the Bible says that we don’t wrestle against flesh and blood. While that fellow may be a tool in the hand of the devil to fight you, you are not to fight him or her. You are to go on your knees and fight the forces of darkness behind the person. There are three types of hosts. There is the angelic or heavenly host which comprises the angels of God as we see in Luke 2:13. There is the demonic host – soldiers of Satan, with their officers (principalities, powers, rulers of the darkness of this world as detailed in Ephesians 6:12). Finally, we have the human host – the armies of the world. The army, navy, air force, paramilitary and the likes are also called hosts. For example, in (1 Samuel 14:19), the Bible talks about the host of the Philistines. There is constant conflict between these hosts. In Daniel 10:4-14 for example, the demonic prince in charge of Persia blocked the angel that was to bring the answer to Daniel’s prayer for 21 days until God sent Angel Michael to assist him. While we cannot see demons with our physical eyes, they can see us. How do you fight an enemy you cannot see? You need the help of an ally who can see your enemy and help you gain victory. A major reason many people fall prey to the devil and his agents is that they try to fight spiritual battles with physical weapons. (2 Corinthians 10:4) says the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds. If you want to win over the forces of darkness, you need to employ spiritual weapons – worship (2 Chronicles 20:22), prayers (Ephesians 6:18), the word of God (Ephesians 6:17), love (Romans 12:20), and above them all, holiness (Proverbs 16:7). WOMEN IN GOD’S MISSION
God cares for women as much as He does men. Yes, women are as significant to the home, church, and society as men are. In Christ, women enjoy equality in spiritual position and blessings before God as men do. This does not mean, though, that there is to be no difference in men and women in their appearance and responsibilities. There is the reality which needs to be obvious in the church and society today: Men and women were obviously created by God differently!
KNOWING HER RIGHTFUL POSITION
Men and women were created for different roles. The Bible affirms that men are to be the leaders in the home, church, and state. Women were not created to rule these divine institutions; men were. Even the five-fold ministry of Ephesians 4:11 was so designed in the Scriptures for men, and not for women.
In the beginning, man and woman were co-equal in their position before God. But when Eve fell in transgression when she listened to the serpent, the covenant was changed. The woman was now to be under subjection unto the man as evident in the succeeding scriptures:
I TIMOTHY 2:14-15 - "And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression. Notwithstanding she shall be saved in childbearing, if they continue in faith and charity and holiness with sobriety."
GENESIS 3:16 -"Unto the woman He said, I will greatly multiply thy sorrow and thy conception; in sorrow thou shalt bring forth children; and thy desire [shall be] to thy husband, and he shall rule over thee."
EPHESIANS 5:22-24 - "Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body. Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so [let] the wives [be] to their own husbands in every thing."
The prophet Isaiah was condemning Israel when he said that women ruled over them (Isa. 3:12). The prophet Elijah was also condemning Ahab because his pagan wife Jezebel was overpowering him. Samson was turned out of the will of God because he listened to the dictates of Delilah. And Adam himself failed God because of listening to his wife Eve.
In the church, according to the Bible, no woman is qualified to be a pastor or a deacon or in any other leadership position over men. Who says that? God Himself said it through His New Testament mouthpiece, the Apostle Paul
WOMEN IN THE 5-FOLD MINISTRY?
The MAIN ISSUE can be summarized as follows: "Can a Woman be ordained to the pastoral ministry?"
If you believe the Bible, the answer is a solid NO!
The Bible speaks very obvious on this subject leaving no room for speculation and confusion, or even, debate. The problem is that churches today too often are looking to sources other than the Bible to justify their vain convictions. The result is an intoxication of ideas that reject the authority of Scripture.
Though women may serve in the church in various capacities as long as those capacities do not violate the principles of authority and order and male leadership, then that is all right. Women may be in spiritual authority over other women and children but not over men.
I do not negate the fact that there are many women that have great abilities. But it is important to remember that this issue has nothing to do with worth or ability. It has everything to do with order and authority. God has placed the family unit, and the very Church Itself, in proper order.
1 Corinthians 14:40 states, “Let all things be done decently and in order.” Hebrews 13:17 “Obey them that have the rule over you, and submit yourselves: for they watch for your souls, as they that must give account, that they may do it with joy, and not with grief: for that is unprofitable for you.”
Women may serve with great results in the church however not as Pastors, Elders or Deacons. Jesus chose twelve men to be the foundational leaders of His Church, and the apostles were bid to choose seven men also to be deacons.
To ordain women as Pastors/Elders/Deacons is a violation of the Word of God and due to either a lack of scriptural understanding, or simply an attempt to make the Bible say what meets man's carnal desire. We must not allow cultural pressure or political correctness to dictate to the Church its authority structure.
Since the qualifications listed in 1 Timothy 3 also state that a deacon must be “the husband of one wife” (1Tim. 3:2), it is therefore clear that the office of a deacon should be held by males.
A very important scripture concerning who is to be an Elder or Pastor is the following one; 1 Timothy 3:4-5 “One that ruleth well his own house, having his children in subjection with all gravity; (For if a man know not how to rule his own house, how shall he take care of the church of God?)” This passage clearly links the authority of a man in his home to the authority of men in the Church. It is clear that God also put men in charge of His Church. God has established his authority structure and has clearly place men in leadership over women.
BEING A "DOMINATING FEMALE" IS ANTI-CHRIST
"Now a woman is NOT meant to have an iron disposition. She is, according to the Holy Scripture, to be submissive to the male. That is commanded of her. Woman who is truly female, all female, will be of that disposition. Not a door mat. No real male makes a female a door mat. But she will want to be under authority and not rule over the male, for he is the head of the house. If she breaks that image that God made for her, she is perverted. Any male that lets the woman take authority has also broken that image and he is perverted. That is why a woman CANNOT WEAR THAT WHICH PERTAINETH TO A MAN (Deut. 22:5) OR CUT HER HAIR (1 Cor. 11:6, 15). She is never to wear garments that pertain to a male or cut her hair. When she does she is intruding into the male domain taking authority and perverting herself. And when a woman invades the pulpit which it is COMMANDED SHE MUST NOT DO, she shows what spirit she is of. Being a dominating female is antichrist. But when it COMES TO THE WORD, Let God be true and every man's word a lie. Amen."

Wives
Submission is an important issue in relation to marriage. Here is the plain biblical command: “Wives, submit yourselves to your own husbands as you do to Adonai. For the husband is the head of the wife as MASHIACH is the head of the church, his body, of which he is the Savior. Now as the church submits to MASHIACH, so also wives should submit to their husbands in everything” (Ephesians 5:22–24).
Even before sin entered the world, there was still the principle of the headship of the husband (1 Timothy 2:13). Adam was created first, and Eve was created to be a "helper" for Adam (Genesis 2:18–20). Yahuah has established several types of authority in the world: governments to enforce justice in society and provide protection; pastors to lead and feed the sheep of Yahuah; husbands to love and nurture their wives; and fathers to admonish their children. In each case, submission is required: citizen to government, flock to shepherd, wife to husband, child to father.
The Greek word translated “submit,” hupotasso, is the continuing form of the verb. This means that submitting to Yahuah, the government, a pastor, or a husband is not a one-time act. It is a continual attitude, which becomes a pattern of behavior.
First, of course, we are responsible to submit to Yahuah, which is the only way we can truly obey Him (James 1:21; 4:7). And each Believer should live in humble, ready submission to others (Ephesians 5:21). In regards to submission within the family unit, 1 Corinthians 11:2–3, says that the husband is to submit to MASHIACH(as MASHIACH did to YAHUAH the Father) and the wife is to submit to her husband.
There is much misunderstanding in our world today about the roles of husband and wife within a marriage. Even when the biblical roles are properly understood, many choose to reject them in favor of a supposed “emancipation” of women, with the result that the family unit is torn apart. It’s no surprise that the world rejects YAHUAH’s design, but YAHUAH’s people should be joyfully celebrating that design.
Submit is not a bad word. Submission is not a reflection of inferiority or lesser worth. MASHIACH constantly submitted Himself to the will of the Father (Luke 22:42; John 5:30), without giving up an iota of His worth.
To counter the world’s misinformation concerning a wife’s submission to her husband, we should carefully note the following in Ephesians 5:22–24 1) A wife is to submit to one man (her husband), not to every man. The rule to submit does not extend to a woman’s place in society at large. 2) A wife is to willingly submit to her husband in personal obedience to Adonai YAHUSHA. She submits to her husband because she loves YAHUSHA. 3) The example of a wife’s submission is that of the church to MASHIACH. 4) There is nothing said of the wife’s abilities, talents, or worth; the fact that she submits to her own husband does not imply that she is inferior or less worthy in any way. Also notice that there are no qualifiers to the command to submit, except “in everything.” So, the husband does not have to pass an aptitude test or an intelligence test before his wife submits. It may be a fact that she is better qualified than he to lead in many ways, but she chooses to follow Adonai’s instruction by submitting to her husband’s leadership. In so doing, a holy wife can even win her unbelieving husband to Adonai“without words” simply by her holy behavior (1 Peter 3:1).
Submission should be a natural response to loving leadership. When a husband loves his wife as MASHIACH loves the church (Ephesians 5:25—33), then submission is a natural response from a wife to her husband. But, regardless of the husband’s love or lack thereof, the wife is commanded to submit “as to Adonai” (verse 22). This means that her obedience to Yahuah—her acceptance of His plan—will result in her submission to her husband. The “as to Adonai” comparison also reminds the wife that there is a higher authority to whom she is responsible. Thus, she is under no obligation to disobey civil law or Yahuah’s law in the name of “submission” to her husband. She submits in things that are right and lawful and Yahuah-honoring. Of course, she does not “submit” to abuse—that is not right or lawful or Yahuah-honoring. To try to use the principle of “submission” to justify abuse is to twist Scripture and promote evil.
The submission of the wife to the husband in Ephesians 5 does not allow the husband to be selfish or domineering. His command is to love (verse 25), and he is responsible before Yahuah to fulfill that command. The husband must exercise his authority wisely, graciously, and in the fear of the Elohiym to whom he must give an account.
When a wife is loved by her husband as the church is loved by MASHIACH, submission is not difficult. Ephesians 5:24 says, “Now as the church submits to MASHIACH, so also wives should submit to their husbands in everything.” In a marriage, submission is a position of giving honor and respect to the husband (see Ephesians 5:33) and completing what he is lacking in. It is Yahuah’s wise plan for how the family should function.
Commentator Matthew Henry wrote, “The woman was made out of Adam’s side. She was not made out of his head to rule over him, nor out of his feet to be trampled upon by him, but out of his side to be equal with him, under his arm to be protected, and near his heart to be loved.” The immediate context of the commands to the husband and wife in Ephesians 5:19–33 involves the filling of the Spirit. Spirit-filled believers are to be worshipful (5:19), thankful (5:20), and submissive (5:21). Paul then follows this line of thought on Spirit-filled living and applies it to wives in verses 22–24. A wife should submit to her husband, not because women are inferior (the Bible never teaches that), but because that is how Yahuah designed the marital relationship to function.

Loving God with Mystery and Celebration

“Loving God with Mystery and Celebration”
(Sacred Pathways[1] – Week 7)
The Princeton Theological Seminary Touring Choir rolled into the church parking lot about an hour before the service.  We filed into the church sanctuary and got warmed up and rehearsed – ready to sing.
People gathered for worship, the service began, and our choir stood up to sing, a capella:
I gotta robe up in-a the kingdom / Ain’t a that good news?
I gotta robe up in-a the kingdom / Ain’t a that good news?
I’m a gonna lay down this world, gonna shoulder up-a my cross.
Gonna bring it home-a to my Jesus / Ain’t a that good news?[2]
We were in tune, we were precise, all of our accents were on the right syllables.  And, as we sang that good old African American spiritual . . . we were so white.  This might not have been a problem, except we were singing in a black Baptist church.
When we finished our song, the congregation clapped politely, we moved back to our seats, and the pastor said something like, “Now, wasn’t that nice, church?  Thank you choir!  You have clearly rehearsed.  But I think we can do a little better.”  He nodded to the organist, who immediately fired up the old B3 organ.  He nodded to the drummer, who picked up a funky beat.  He nodded to the bass player, who locked in with the drummer.  And we sang the song again – once more, with feeling . . . this time, with soul.  At one point, they even passed a microphone around for people to ad lib solos – not just choir members, mind you, but anyone – everyone – in the room – white and black, alike – singing, shouting, laughing, clapping, and dancing.
I remember one woman who started dancing in the aisle.  She was in her Sunday best, and as the music swelled and swelled with excitement, she danced so hard that she literally threw her back out and had to limp out of the sanctuary to a room set aside for people who had become overwrought with the Spirit.  I hope that she made a swift recovery.
After the service that day, the Princeton Theological Seminary Touring Choir got back on the bus – worn out from the sheer energy and joy of worship.  It was clear that God had shown up that day.  And even though we thought we had brought our best, the Holy Spirit elevated our best and made it better, wilder, more unpredictable, and – in the end – more Holy.
In recent weeks, we have been exploring the different pathways upon which people connect with God – or rather, the pathways upon which God connects with us.  And there are some people who find God to be most present with them in a moment of joyous celebration.  We are here, God is here, God has blessed us with so many good gifts – so many blessings.  So, let’s celebrate and welcome God to the party, trusting that God will show up!
This is what is taking place as David leads the ark of God into the city of Jerusalem with dancing and “shouting, and with the sound of the trumpet.” (2 Samuel 6:15)  You see, the people of Israel have been torn apart by years of civil war – there were those who fought for King Saul and those who fought for his son-in-law David.  Finally, David defeats Saul and the people are divided, no more.  They gather together and anoint David as King.  But, because David’s people are God’s own chosen people, God needs to officially show up and bless the whole thing.  So, when David chooses the city of Jerusalem to become his capital city, there is something important that needs to take place.  The old Ark of God – crafted by Moses and carried by the people of Israel in the wilderness – needs to be brought into the city.  Now, the Ark is a curious thing in the Hebrew Bible, primarily, because it represents God’s power with whoever possesses it.  Just prior to today’s story, the ark has been carried to a certain place and God’s power comes out and actually strikes a poor guy named Uzzah dead.  David and all the people are frightened by this.  You and I would be, too.  God’s power is not to be trifled with, and David asks that the Ark be stored at someone’s house for a little while.  Strangely, God blesses that house because the Ark is there.  Finally, when all has been prepared, David goes up, and brings the Ark into the city, and he does so with great fanfare.
David lines up a bunch of fatted oxen and sacrifices them, every six steps, as the Ark passes by.  As one scholar writes, “[David] is progressively [every six steps] sanctifying the city so that it will be ritually suitable to house the ark.”[3]  David wants to make sure that he is formally doing things the right way so that God will be pleased, and so he goes to the great expense and effort to offer his very best to God.  But David doesn’t just offer the very best oxen, he offers the very best of his joy.  He is filled with such joy that he cannot help but dance, and sing, and shout along with hundreds – perhaps thousands – of people.  As the story goes, “David danced before the Lord with all his might . . . David and all the house of Israel.” (6:14-15)
This is David’s ticker-tape parade.  This is David’s victory dance, David’s thanksgiving dance, David’s “God is good” dance.  And all the people are dancing together and praising God together because the war is over, God has blessed them, and life is good.  In the original language, when David dances before the Lord “with all his might,” he is doing so with all his strength and all of his power.[4]  He is dancing fiercely – like Beyonce or Tyra Banks – and so is everyone else.  And even though the Bible does not tell us this, I wouldn’t be surprised if someone threw their back out from all of that dancing and had to limp home to recover.
Of course, not everyone in the story is dancing.  You might remember that David’s wife, Michal, is not amused, especially when she sees her husband dancing vigorously while wearing a linen apron that may have been more revealing than the scriptures reveal in full.  She says that she is embarrassed by David’s dancing – although, since she is the daughter of King Saul (the King that David has just defeated) she might have some other feelings bubbling under the surface.
This is where David – who has a gift for words – gives Michal a real zinger:  “I wasn’t dancing for you,” he says.  “I was dancing for God.”
What would make you dance for God?  What would cause you to celebrate with all that you are, the Holy One who has brought you and me out of death and into life, out of sin and shame and into forgiveness, out of the grip of all that seeks to keep us bound – oppressed – into freedom, out of suffering and into healing, out of wrath and anger into mercy, out of fear and into grace and peace?  What would cause you to dance – to celebrate – to see God in the joy of praise, and thanksgiving, and utter abandon?  Sometimes, God’s good news is just so good that you’ve gotta cut loose.
Now, I know that for some of you, the phrase “cutting loose” might not be in your liturgical vocabulary.  And some of you might think that “cutting loose” in church might mean clapping on beats one and three to a piece of music.  It’s not that you’re like David’s wife – harboring ill will toward those who do cut loose – but it might just be that you lean a little more toward being reserved.  If this describes you, I want to affirm you, even as I lovingly say that the phrase “Frozen Chosen” – which some people use to describe Presbyterians – is not necessarily meant to be a compliment.  There will be times when God wants us to be God-conscious than self-conscious.  And sometimes, God-consciousness will cause us to let down our guard and be open to the possibility that God is using our minds and hearts and bodies in ways that are way beyond our usual comfort zones and that God will take care of us, just the same, and all will be well.
There are just a few words of caution, here.  Somewhere on the scale between looking down our noses at someone who even thinks about clapping at church to leaping from our seats to dance and speak in tongues, our faith practice should have some balance.  There are some churches that are so formal, and rigid, and serious that there is little room for joy.  There are some churches that are all celebration and joy, all the time, which does not necessarily allow room for grief, or sadness, or even doubt.  “If you’re not happy and you know it, then you must be doing something wrong,” some might say, “or sin may be interfering with your capacity for joy and you should repent.”  Friends, those who have a mindset and use language like this – especially those in power in a church who use it to manipulate our emotions and make us feel more guilt and shame than we already feel – are guilty of spiritual abuse.  There are those who equate an experience of God with emotions, believing that if you’re not “feeling all the feels,” emotionally, that God is not present with you.  This couldn’t be farther from the truth.  God is with us, always, even if it “feels” like God is not.  Some of the times in my life when I have felt closest to God were, specifically, times when I was not in the mood for celebration, but God showed up and shone a little light into the darkness.  I wasn’t ready to throw a joyful party, but I was open to having some hope in my life and God provided it.  In the end, God does show up, no matter what, and I am thankful for this.
The truth is, God is present at the height of our celebration and in the depths of our despair.  Ain’t-a that good news?  The truth is, there will come a day when God will lift us all up and set us on our feet in the kingdom of heaven and there will be great rejoicing.  Ain’t-a that good news?  The truth is, the end of the sacred pathway that God sets before us is abundant and everlasting life – death will be thrown down and God will give us victory.  Ain’t-a that good news?  This is cause for great celebration, and thanksgiving, and hope.  This is worth cutting loose for, from time to time, whether you are swaying, or clapping, or dancing, or singing, or simply living and breathing with a full and faithful and confident heart.
God seeks us out and elevates us and brings God’s best out of us – all to God’s glory.  Ain’t-a that good news?  Yes, it is.  May we respond to this good news with joy and gratitude, giving thanks and offering our best.
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.  Amen.

*Note= incomplete. Such a hard day! But needed to post it.
Su.10.2.2022 10.41am est.
Dear Lord,
I am having a terribly difficult morning!
I cannot calm down.
I am praying
But I think that needing to be outside, fresh air, away from this house, constant coughing, not being able to be still, high bp, blood sugar, & heart rate, heck hard to take my meds! Hard to think ..
Are all my symptoms.
My soul is struggling.
DEAR GOD IN HEAVEN HELP ME PLEASE!?!?!?!
I MUST GIVE IT ALL TO YOU LORD!!!
From why I am so anxious & out of control, which is foreign to me.
[Hard to even write this! Struggling to think!]
I'm listening to church svc.
Interesting that pastor is preaching on the Love Chapter [1 Corinthians 13], & Creation, of man & woman. Helpmeet.

"
13 If I speak in the tongues[a] of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. 2 If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. 3 If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast,[b] but do not have love, I gain nothing.
4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
8 Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away. 9 For we know in part and we prophesy in part, 10 but when completeness comes, what is in part disappears. 11 When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put the ways of childhood behind me. 12 For now we see only a reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.
13 And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.

Sanctification.

Repentance.
Glorified.

It's why He has let me struggle.
I need to learn this lesson.
~GOD COMES FIRST.~
[I've been writing as God gives me clear moments. It's why is taking me so long today.]

A Better Reading of 1 Corinthians 11 and 14
A Better Reading of 1 Corinthians 11 and 14 What if Apostle Paul was quoting the questions he was answering? #1Corinthians11 #1Corinthians14 #egalitarian
Paul shook his head and muttered to himself. He could feel his temperature rise, even against the close heat of the small room he’d been given, to spend the night. But, there was no mistaking what he was reading, as the simple, clay oil lamp flickered its light across the papyrus. “God!” he thought. “God! Why!” He slowly rubbed his weary eyes, and drew his hands down his face. Of course, it had…

First Reading
1 Corinthians 15:1-11
So we preach and so you believed.
I am reminding you, brothers and sisters, of the Gospel I preached to you, which you indeed received and in which you also stand. Through it you are also being saved, if you hold fast to the word I preached to you, unless you believed in vain. For I handed on to you as of first importance what I also received: that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures; that he was buried; that he was raised on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures; that he appeared to Cephas, then to the Twelve. After that, he appeared to more than five hundred brothers at once, most of whom are still living, though some have fallen asleep. After that he appeared to James, then to all the Apostles. Last of all, as to one born abnormally, he appeared to me. For I am the least of the Apostles, not fit to be called an Apostle, because I persecuted the Church of God. But by the grace of God I am what I am, and his grace to me has not been ineffective. Indeed, I have toiled harder than all of them; not I, however, but the grace of God that is with me. Therefore, whether it be I or they, so we preach and so you believed.

Hebrews 5:7-9
Christ learned obedience and became the source of eternal salvation.
In the days when Christ was in the flesh, he offered prayers and supplications with loud cries and tears to the one who was able to save him from death, and he was heard because of his reverence. Son though he was, he learned obedience from what he suffered; and when he was made perfect, he became the source of eternal salvation for all who obey him.

R/ Save me, O Lord, in your kindness.
You will free me from the snare they set for me,    for you are my refuge. Into your hands I commend my spirit;    you will redeem me, O LORD, O faithful God.
R/ Save me, O Lord, in your kindness.
But my trust is in you, O LORD,    I say, “You are my God.” In your hands is my destiny; rescue me    from the clutches of my enemies and my persecutors.
R/ Save me, O Lord, in your kindness.
How great is your goodness, O LORD,    which you have in store for those who fear you, And which, toward those who take refuge in you,    you show in the sight of the children of men.
R/ Save me, O Lord, in your kindness.
Sequence
Stabat Mater
At the cross her station keeping, Stood the mournful Mother weeping, Close to Jesus to the last.
Through her heart, his sorrow sharing, All his bitter anguish bearing, Now at length the sword had passed.
Oh, how sad and sore distressed Was that Mother highly blessed Of the sole begotten One!
Christ above in torment hangs, She beneath beholds the pangs Of her dying, glorious Son.
Is there one who would not weep, ‘Whelmed in miseries so deep, Christ’s dear Mother to behold?
Can the human heart refrain From partaking in her pain, In that mother’s pain untold?
Bruised, derided, cursed, defiled, She beheld her tender Child, All with bloody scourges rent.
For the sins of his own nation Saw him hang in desolation Till his spirit forth he sent.
O sweet Mother! font of love, Touch my spirit from above, Make my heart with yours accord.
Make me feel as you have felt; Make my soul to glow and melt With the love of Christ, my Lord.
Holy Mother, pierce me through, In my heart each wound renew Of my Savior crucified.
Let me share with you his pain, Who for all our sins was slain, Who for me in torments died.
Let me mingle tears with you, Mourning him who mourned for me, All the days that I may live.
By the cross with you to stay, There with you to weep and pray, Is all I ask of you to give.
Virgin of all virgins blest! Listen to my fond request: Let me share your grief divine.
Let me to my latest breath, In my body bear the death Of that dying Son of yours.
Wounded with his every wound, Steep my soul till it has swooned In his very Blood away.
Be to me, O Virgin, nigh, Lest in flames I burn and die, In his awful judgment day.
Christ, when you shall call me hence, Be your Mother my defense, Be your cross my victory.
While my body here decays, May my soul your goodness praise, Safe in heaven eternally. Amen. (Alleluia)

RHAPSODY OF REALITIES DAILY DEVOTIONAL

JESUS IS LORD AND CHRIST
Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made that same Jesus, whom ye have crucified, both Lord and Christ (Acts 2:36).
PASTOR CHRIS OYAKHILOME PHD
When we say Jesus is Lord, it means Master; one who’s over others. He’s Lord and Christ! He can also be called Lord Christ or Christ the Lord. This is important because of the meaning of the word, “Christ.”
Christ is from the Greek word “Christos” and it’s the equivalent of the word “Messiah” in Hebrew. But Messiah means “anointed one” who becomes the Saviour. So, Jesus is God’s anointed One, sent for the salvation of the world. When He was born, the angels brought the tidings of it to the shepherds and said, “For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord” (Luke 2:11).
Also, Peter boldly declared this incredible truth to the Jews in Jerusalem, as read in our theme verse; he said, “…God hath made that same Jesus, whom ye have crucified, both Lord and Christ.” Hallelujah! In John 4, based on the testimony of the Samaritan woman, many of the Samaritans of the city came to hear Jesus for a first hand confirmation, and they said to the woman, “...Now we believe, not because of thy saying: for we have heard him ourselves, and know that this is indeed the Christ, the Saviour of the world” (John 4:42). Hallelujah!
Believing that Jesus is Christ is very important, because without that, there’s no salvation. Jesus isn’t one of the “Christs”; there’s no such thing as “other Christs”; Jesus is the CHRIST! And the Bible says, “Whosoever believeth that Jesus is the Christ is born of God…” (1 John 5:1). Your salvation is hinged on this. Jesus is both Lord and Christ; proclaim it everywhere. Praise God forever!
PRAYER
Blessed Lord Jesus, I recognize you as my Master and Ruler; the One with supreme authority and preeminence. I believe with all my heart and declare with my mouth that you’re Lord over every circumstance and everything that has to do with my life. Amen.
FURTHER STUDY:
Colossians 2:6 As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him:
2 Corinthians 4:5 For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your servants for Jesus' sake.
1 John 5:1-2 Whosoever believeth that Jesus is the Christ is born of God: and every one that loveth him that begat loveth him also that is begotten of him. 2 By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments.

A LEADER'S REPUTATION
1 THIS is a faithful saying: If a man desires the position of a Bishop, he desires a good work.
2 A bishop then must be BLAMELESS, the husband of one wife, TEMPERATE, sober-minded, of good behavior, hospitable, ABLE TO TEACH;
3 NOT given to WINE, NOT VIOLENT, NOT GREEDY FOR MONEY, but GENTLE, not quarrelsome, not covetous;
4 one who rules his own house well, having his children in submission with all reverence
5 (for if a man does not know how to rule his own house, how will he take care of the church of God?);
Peace!

But David tarried still at Jerusalem. 2 And it came to pass in an eveningtide, that David arose from off his bed, and walked upon the roof of the king’s house: and from the roof he saw a woman washing herself; and the woman was very beautiful to look upon. 3 And David sent and enquired after the woman. And one said, Is not this Bathsheba, the daughter of Eliam, the wife of Uriah the Hittite? 4 And David sent messengers, and took her; and she came in unto him, and he lay with her; for she was purified from her uncleanness: and she returned unto her house. 5 And the woman conceived, and sent and told David, and said, I am with child. 6 And David sent to Joab, saying, Send me Uriah the Hittite. And Joab sent Uriah to David. 7 And when Uriah was come unto him, David demanded of him how Joab did, and how the people did, and how the war prospered. 8 And David said to Uriah, Go down to thy house, and wash thy feet. And Uriah departed out of the king’s house, and there followed him a mess of meat from the king. 9 But Uriah slept at the door of the king’s house with all the servants of his lord, and went not down to his house. 10 And when they had told David, saying, Uriah went not down unto his house, David said unto Uriah, Camest thou not from thy journey? why then didst thou not go down unto thine house? 11 And Uriah said unto David, The ark, and Israel, and Judah, abide in tents; and my lord Joab, and the servants of my lord, are encamped in the open fields; shall I then go into mine house, to eat and to drink, and to lie with my wife? as thou livest, and as thy soul liveth, I will not do this thing. 12 And David said to Uriah, Tarry here to day also, and to morrow I will let thee depart. So Uriah abode in Jerusalem that day, and the morrow. 13 And when David had called him, he did eat and drink before him; and he made him drunk: and at even he went out to lie on his bed with the servants of his lord, but went not down to his house. 14 And it came to pass in the morning, that David wrote a letter to Joab, and sent it by the hand of Uriah. 15 And he wrote in the letter, saying, Set ye Uriah in the forefront of the hottest battle, and retire ye from him, that he may be smitten, and die. 16 And it came to pass, when Joab observed the city, that he assigned Uriah unto a place where he knew that valiant men were. 17 And the men of the city went out, and fought with Joab: and there fell some of the people of the servants of David; and Uriah the Hittite died also. 18 Then Joab sent and told David all the things concerning the war; 19 And charged the messenger, saying, When thou hast made an end of telling the matters of the war unto the king, 20 And if so be that the king’s wrath arise, and he say unto thee, Wherefore approached ye so nigh unto the city when ye did fight? knew ye not that they would shoot from the wall? 21 Who smote Abimelech the son of Jerubbesheth? did not a woman cast a piece of a millstone upon him from the wall, that he died in Thebez? why went ye nigh the wall? then say thou, Thy servant Uriah the Hittite is dead also. 22 So the messenger went, and came and shewed David all that Joab had sent him for. 23 And the messenger said unto David, Surely the men prevailed against us, and came out unto us into the field, and we were upon them even unto the entering of the gate. 24 And the shooters shot from off the wall upon thy servants; and some of the king’s servants be dead, and thy servant Uriah the Hittite is dead also. 25 Then David said unto the messenger, Thus shalt thou say unto Joab, Let not this thing displease thee, for the sword devoureth one as well as another: make thy battle more strong against the city, and overthrow it: and encourage thou him. 26 And when the wife of Uriah heard that Uriah her husband was dead, she mourned for her husband. 27 And when the mourning was past, David sent and fetched her to his house, and she became his wife, and bare him a son. But the thing that David had done displeased the Lord. CLICK HERE FOR PREVIOUS RCCG OPEN HEAVEN DAILY DEVOTIONAL You May Also like: Open heaven by Pastor E. Open Heaven 28th January 2023 Daily Devotional Saturday
MESSAGE: open heavens daily devotional for today Many Christians think they can fall and rise as they like. I have always said that injuries can heal, but the scars will remain. You may commit a sin and God forgives you, but the consequence of that sin may live with you for the rest of your life and even outlive you. Just one mistake can cause serious problems for even your children yet unborn. In Genesis 16:2, Sarah arranged for Abraham to have an affair with her maid and today, the world is paying for that single mistake. In Genesis 25:29-34, Esau made a single mistake. He despised his birthright just once and by the time we get to Genesis 27:30-40, the Bible says he came in just as his brother was stepping out after collecting the blessing. He begged for a remnant blessing and his father assured him that he would prosper, living by the sword, but that he would serve his brother. This happened because of just one mistake. In 2 Samuel 11, David made a mistake which gave birth to several others. The mistake was that he was relaxing at a time when kings typically went to war. He then saw what he wouldn’t ordinarily have seen – a beautiful lady taking her bath. You should ask, “Why was David looking into another man’s compound?” If you give the devil an inch, he wouldn’t just take a mile, but rather, he’ll go for your eternity. Before long, the lady was in his bed. She got pregnant and to hide it, he had her husband killed. God sent a prophet to tell David that the sword would never depart from his home. Even today, the sword has not departed from Israel. It all started with one single mistake of relaxing when he should have been at war. Some Christians think it is harmless to be sleeping when they should be praying. Before they wake the next day, the devil would have sown tares in their field and they would begin to struggle. The unfortunate thing is that they think the struggle is normal and continue in it rather than get up and pray when they should. Beloved, do not be ignorant of the devices of the enemy who is going round seeking who to devour (1 Peter 5:8). All he needs is one mistake. Do not give it to him. The Heresy of the “Grace Road Church” of Korea
By Author Eli Kittim 🎓
A Cult Movement
According to Wiki,
The Grace Road Church is a South Korean
quasi-Christian new religious movement
and cult (although its members call it a
Church) founded in 2002.
This so-called “church” is currently based in Fiji. It moved there because its pastor Shin Okjoo predicted a famine in Korea. This is a shrewd and calculating woman who demanded strict obedience as she seized the passports of about 400 followers so that they wouldn’t leave. Many nearby churches have hurled accusations that this is a cult movement.
The church has diversified and raised funds by opening businesses across Fiji that range from the hospitality industry to construction to agriculture. Footage has emerged of physical abuse and violence, including slave labor. In 2019, its leader Shin Okjoo was found guilty and sentenced to six years in jail.
The Grace Road Church Claims that the Holy Spirit Is a Woman & that Jesus Is Not God the Son
The Deity of the Holy Spirit
The personhood of the Holy Spirit is multiply-attested in the New Testament. There are many verses which hint at the deity of the Holy Spirit, calling Him, for example, a “person” (ἐκεῖνος, meaning “He” Jn. 16:13-14; ὁ Παράκλητος, which depicts “a person”; & ἐκεῖνος, meaning “he” Jn. 15:26). Note that the Biblical references to the Holy Spirit don’t use the feminine but rather the masculine, third-person pronoun “he.”
The Holy Spirit is also called the “eternal Spirit” (Heb. 9:14), a term that is often used interchangeably with the concept of God (1 Cor. 3:16; 6:19; Acts 5:3-4; Rom. 8:9; 2 Tim. 3:16; 2 Pet. 1:21). For example, the Holy Spirit is called “Lord” in 2 Corinthians 3:17:
Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the
Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.
Moreover, the Holy Spirit is said to have insight into “the depths of God” (1 Corinthians 2:10-11). He also possesses knowledge (Romans 8:27). The Spirit is also said to have a personal will (1 Corinthians 12:11). He is capable of convicting the world of sin (John 16:8), and performs signs and miracles (Acts 8:39). He also guides (John 16:13) and intercedes between people (Romans 8:26). He utters commands and is also obeyed (Acts 10:19-20; 16:6). The Spirit talks (Revelation 2:7; 14:13; 22:17). He warns and prophesies of things to come (John 16:13; Acts 20:23). And the New Testament certainly depicts Him as a member of the Trinity (John 16:14; Matthew 28:19; 2 Corinthians 13:14).
The Deity of Jesus Christ
We also have multiple texts which refer to the deity of Jesus Christ, depicting him as the Son of God, such as in Jn 1 (“the word was God”), Col. 2:9 (“in him the whole fullness of deity dwells bodily”), Jn 8:58 (“before Abraham was, I am”), Heb. 1.2 (God’s “Son, … through whom he also created the worlds”), Heb. 1:3 (“The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact imprint of his being”), Tit. 2:13 (“our great God and Savior Jesus Christ”), as well as the explicit worship Christ willingly received from his followers (Luke 24:52; John 20:28) and the accusations of blasphemy leveled against him for equating himself with God (Mark 2:7).
Hence, the Grace Road Church’s Biblical claims that the Holy Spirit is a woman and that Jesus is not God the Son are completely bogus and misinformed❗️
