I'm having a weird brain day (thanks to stress over the U.S. midterm elections), but I've found that forcing myself to log off twitter and instead cooking and cleaning always chills me out and calms me down. My therapist pointed out that doing these things sorta forces everything else to pause in my brain and kinda tricks me into being mindful and slowing down. So anyway, I cooked up a bunch of turkey meatballs and this vegan butternut squash and carrot soup with caramelized onions and roasted garlic. I might make some farro with radicchio and swiss chard in a bit, maybe listen to some more of The British History Podcast (which I highly highly rec). Just, you know, little things.
