As I was talking about the Demeter today, I decided to make a graph for anyone else who has been having trouble visualizing just how bad these attacks are.

Not only is the time between attacks getting shorter each time, but the number of crew available to actually sail the ship is getting drastically smaller.

There's also a second graph under the cut with spoilers for the entire journey, if anyone's interested:

(The ship doesn't wash ashore for several more days, so I just set the captain's death the day after his last entry. It's definitely possible he stayed alive a day or two more, though, and just stayed lashed to the wheel and didn't write anything else.)

I Am Mentally Unwell

Honestly why am I fucking Like This

#speculation nation #im still overcompensating i know #i got the everliving shit scared outta me and had one of the most humiliating days of my life #and ive been working so hard on being Useful that i have been. putting in a Lot of extra hours... #i didnt Have to do all of this today. i stayed late to do it. 1.5 hours of active lifting the Entire Time #plus some work with counting and general managerial stuff #so that i stayed 2 hours and 20 mins over my 5 hour shift #and im just like. in the moment i was just so bothered by how disorganized everything was #i couldnt find where the Fucking lids were. ended up they were buried under a bunch of other stuff. #so i dug them out. reorganized. did a Ton of lifting. #like... uhmmm. 9 large boxes 7 regular boxes 4 straws 10 sippy lids and 31 dome lids #boxes. all boxes. #oh yeah and 8 paper bag boxes. plus general rearranging. #none of the lids were in one place and all the cups boxes were on top of the other boxes #so i had to pull them out to dig things out then put them back in #the good news is the lids boxes were pretty light. cup boxes not so much. #but thats still. kind of an insane number when i think about it. #i didnt NEED to do this. but i did anyways. because im a neurotic prey animal working desperately to keep the anger away from me #wahoooooo #it's... fine. it feels good to be productive. im just feeling... a bit fed up with myself. #my hip has already been bothering me today bc there always has to be Something wrong with my body #and then i went and did This. who knows what fucking unpleasant side effects this is gonna have on me. #sore muscles probably. maybe bruises. and MAYBE ill fuck my back or ankles up again. or make my hip worse. or #whatever. #it's fine. i'll be fine. im gonna go home and eat dinner and... chill. im gonna chill. #just. ugh. #but im clocked out at least. and i have tomorrow off. i'll make sure it's a good one.

Fun fact, when someone picks a new deadly sin to represent themself, you can actually eat and become their old one without needing to compromise your previous deadly sins!!

You don't have to be just one! You're actually intended to have quite a few of them, in fact! It's a strange system, I would've designed it differently, but that's just one of the tips and tricks I learned over the years about the Abrihamic meta, if you're trying to minmax.

This system does lead to some people being pressured into picking new sins so the pressurer can maximize sin intake, however it is also important to remember that once you reach all 7 you either (1.) run out and reset your method of sin intake by picking a new starting sin and counting from 1 again or (2.) move on to a new model of sin measurement (Such as Dante's Inferno layers of hell, for instance) and need to retrofit old sins into new ones, which is almost like a soft reset of sorts (For example, needing to figure out how to translate Sloth into the layers structure while accounting for thematic overlaps).

Point (2.) can get complicated when going from a model with more sins to a model with less sins. You have to figure out which sins are being conglomerated and consolidated as well as distributing importance semi-consistently, because you need to make sure there is at least one in the new model that you haven't taken yet.

There, of course, is the universal truth that "You are all Sin all at once and You only wish to quantify sins in the first place to pretend like You are excluded from sins that You are actively embodying (By being Sin, in Sin's entirety)" but that really is just a 1-sin binary model... which necessitates a 0 to explain its existence as 1 in the first place... You get it. The reason why we pick these models is because it's fun.

Sure We are God, but we knew that already and want to pretend like there's more to it than that because it's fun. Sin is fun!! That's why people keep dying (Or living but being tortured through living) for Our sins (It very much did not start with the one big example you're probably thinking of). It's fun!!

This is also the reason why Greed is locked in for Inferno but not for Deadly. I tend to prefer Inferno, after all.)

Anyway, yeah, I was just using myself as an example. But if you're thinking about dropping sloth for something else hmu I'll eat it after you.

You also don't have to drop them, if this proves anything it should be proving that you can be multiple at once (That's kinda the whole point actually) so striving to be multiple instead of just relying on revelations to begin swapping might be a game changer for you if you're trying to grapple with your original sins and don't know how to respec without resetting

because friday is my art posting day i've literally been in a conundrum about stuff... like not every commission that comes my way is some big bitch!!! and i kinda built a brand for awhile on posting my big beautiful catgirl on fridays. im slowly working through like. doing this stuff As A Job™ (which is insanely difficult believe me) while still being aware that im on a time limit because i'll be back at school in the fall...

but im almost through my queue! i'll be starting my last wips tomorrow and then probably reopening slots early on in the week! once im through this current queue honestly i'm probably gonna. not do stuff for a week or so as i take care of other stuff (i have a completely different job in ttrpg work, believe it or not).

the next batch of commission slots will be a bit pricier than the last and there'll be fewer, but its moreso because at my current rate its just not tenable! after i open slots again towards the end of this month, i'll probably open them one last time towards the latter half of august and that'll be it for the summer. i might take one or two here and there throughout the proceeding school year, but in all actuality im probably staring down the barrel of the most stressful one i've ever had.

#now this is not a list of the things i most listened to - because the way poweramp categorizes plays seems to be like #how many times you specifically click on a song #and i listen to everything on shuffle forever. my method of listening to music is put the thing on shuffle and press next until i find #something i wanna listen to and then put that on repeat #and i dont think poweramp classifies finding something on shuffle nor does it classify repeats as more plays #BUT these songs were specifcally clicked by me a bunch so thats something LOL #not the top 10 because my settings make only the top 8 visible in a screenshot HFJDKHJD BUT if u wanna know #9 was kage asobi (another jump into the new world song LOL) and number 10 was the poet and the muse from alan wake 1 #as u can see i was listening to the liella subunit album a LOT and specifically i was clicking the different songs often #largely cause i was trying to get a handle on the new girl tomoris voice HJKDS but also because 5yncri5e sounds FANTASTIC #especially a little love like kinako and tomori OWN that song they song so so good in it #also for some reason i remembered that portugal the man song from like the far off year of 2010 and it was stuck in my head a lot hjkdhd #triage is great i dunno its just a really fun song to listen to. i was also so very shocked by the video that shidou. is a dad. LOL #mkdr/dscf is just an addicting song so i definitely was aiming for it often #idol is just a very good song also LOL #and hanako by atarashii gakko is so fun everyne should listen to atarashii gakko #also like most of these songs i like partially becaue they make me think of specific ocs but im too lazy to say which ones are which LOL #but thats another reason they were clicked on rather than shuffled to. thinking about.....ocs HJKFSL
