Anthonie Beerstraaten  (1637–after 1664 ) - Poelgeest Castle at Koudekerk near Leiden - 1640s

Anthonie Beerstraaten (4 February 1646, in Amsterdam – after 1665), was a Dutch Golden Age painter.

According to the RKD his works are confused with those of Jan Abrahamsz Beerstraaten and Abraham Beerstraaten, who were his father and possibly his brother.

Las escenas de puertos mediterráneos fueron temas populares para los pintores holandeses del Siglo de Oro a mediados del siglo XVII. Pintores como Jan Baptist Weenix y Jan Asselyn importaron este tema a los Países Bajos tras sus estancias en Italia. Aunque es poco probable que Abraham Storck haya viajado alguna vez al sur de Europa, esto no impidió que el artista pintara escenas imaginadas de puertos mediterráneos inspiradas en el pintor marino Jan Beerstraaten. En esta pintura, los enormes edificios antiguos forman el marco alrededor de una escena de un puerto mediterráneo. La distintiva luz mediterránea se ha representado utilizando una paleta de colores casi dorada, que junto con el personal en primer plano y la arquitectura antigua dan a la escena un aspecto vivo y pintoresco.
