Mugshot Monday - "Old School Skateboarding Coffee Mug" by  Adam Miller of Px10 Pottery with Morning Glory Signature Blend by Peace Coffee

I always miss skateboarding the most when I'm at a skatepark.

I think it's the sounds of skateboarding that get me. It's also the ramps and slider bars sitting there, right in front of me.

It's getting stoked at all the tricks skaters at the park are landing.

Lucky for me I get to live vicariously through my kids and my nephew who enjoy skating just as much as I do.

This year after Turkey Day, we went to Cream City Skatepark near Milwaukee where they enjoyed an all-day skateboarding session. I had so much fun watching them.

I thought it was a good time to showcase my old-school skateboarding coffee mug that my friend Adam Miller at PX10 Pottery made a while back.

I love the mug because the artwork is a young Tony Hawk (likely) skating Del Mar Skate Ranch in California.

I'm pretty sure I've seen the photo Adam's illustration was based on, likely taken by legendary photographer Grant Brittain.

If you grew up in the 80s and 90s reading Thrasher or Transworld, you've probably seen Grant's work.

Adam skated back in the day as well. I love this mug as a nice homage to the old-school skateboarder.

Cream City Skatepark is hands-down my favorite indoor skatepark, so if you have kids or nieces and nephews who skate and you're in the area, I strongly recommend checking it out!

If you like this style of coffee mug, check out Adam's work. He's moved on from mugs with skateboarders to mugs with incredible animal illustrations. His roosters and pigs are my favorite.

Would anyone be interested in a version 2 of T9S in my TWA verse? Version number 1 is in 1995, btw. This one's way less political.

It's July 1999, and J/H and E/D are going on a three week trip to tour western Europe. Together. Eric is devastated about the latest Star Wars movie, and Donna wanted to cheer Eric up. And Jackie and Hyde are tagging along as couple buddies, because Jackie thinks it sounds like fun (she always wanted to go to Paris with Donna). And Hyde wants to go to Amsterdam and Dublin (weed and beer, man) Leaving the kids at the old Forman abode;

Kate Forman (age 13) and Becca Hyde (age 13). A blossoming activist and budding perfectionist, and a quiet observer with a passion for grunge fashion and music. With their annoying, rambunctious siblings James Hyde (age 11) and Leah Forman (age 9).

Adrian Forman (age 14-5), Fez and Laurie's son also goes to his grandparents' house every summer, because he wants to. He's more of a Forman, and his dad's an effeminate weirdo that's hard to connect with, in his opinion.

Chelsea O'Connor (age 15): The artsy, hippie girl next door, and Adrian's best friend and budding love interest.

Kevin and Daniel "Danny" Acosta (age 15 and 12): Kevin is Adrian's level headed, nerdy best friend. Danny is Kevin's loud, wild child brother, and Becca's on-off boyfriend. They're visiting their mother, Maura, Leo's granddaughter (they usually live with their dad in Chicago). Their dad Vic is Buddy Morgan's partner, btw.

Melanie "Mel" Parker: Raquel's daughter (Raquel is bi, and her ex-husband Greg is the nephew of Lydia and Eloise), and her stepmom Meg is an estranged Erdman (the daughter of Fez's bible thumping host parents), who has been ostracized from the family for being gay.

Minor:

Adam and Sabrina Miller (age 14 and 9): They're Mitch's kids. Adam is a freaking creep who has a massive crush on Kate, and Sabrina's the only decent one of the Miller bunch. Well, except for her mother Lucy, who's dying of cancer.

Mugshot Monday - "Imposter Cup Prototype #3" by Adam Miller of Px10 Pottery impersonating Jesse Woodworth of Riverwood Pottery with Ethiopia Single Origin Light Roast by Peace Coffee

This cup is an IMPOSTER!

For the last 3 years, the Imposters Cup Show has tasked artists with secretly replicating another artist's cup style while incorporating their own personal spin.

I love this show so much! This year, over 70 artists participated and my friend Adam Miller of Px10 Pottery was given the assignment to make 2 cups replicating the amazing and versatile Jesse Woodworth (@riverwoodpottery).

Jesse makes a lot of different kinds of super creative cups---some have hammer handles, some have image transfers, and some have crossword puzzles!

Imposter Cups participants must keep their entries on the down-low until they are revealed. After he found out he got into the show, Adam asked if he could bounce ideas off of me as long as I could keep it a secret. Of course! This was awesome.

Adam's cups turned out so gooooood. He added image transfers of his signature chicken and cow illustrations with background explosions and submitted a set of two mugs each with hammer handles.

Before the big reveal, the Imposters Cup Show posts pictures of the entries and fans start guessing in the comments who the imposter could be. Adam got busted pretty quickly! 😂

This weekend, he surprised me when he gave me this alternate prototype for helping him out as his his imposter "confidant". 🤩

This wrench handle is so cozy and I love that the thumb rest is Adam's signature stamper.
