47) imtheworst by screwyounick! honestly, a friend asked me to make them a playlist based on the vibe of this song, so that's why it's so high on the list, but it's legitimately pretty fun. we got guitar sample emo rap and we got a big anthemic chorus that's a little bit reminiscent of MGK if he skewed just a little heavier and, like, when halsey's there. the dual vocals rule. top sadboi lyric: "i miss all my friends but they're never online/ i wish what i said had some reason rhyme"

73) Prayer of Love by Lady Lamb i've been a fan of aly spaltro since about 2015, owing to her superb musicianship (she played most of the instruments on her first three+ records, but in general she's also just a severely underrated guitarist) and her superb lyricism in equal measure. turned out she went to high school with my first-ever significant other. anyway, we've got gentle keys and soft vocals that eventually spiral into weirder and louder guitar noises, and they trade off from there in quite a masterful fashion, and inevitably have me weeping by the time we hit the killing line: "and i wish that you were here and that love could last/ i'm not sure that it can't, I just pray that it can"

In The Mammoth Nothing of The Night Lady Lamb (Ba Da Bing) (released 18 August 2023)

Aly Spaltro performs under the name Lady Lamb and her debut album (despite releasing any number of self released CD-Rs) was Ripely Pine which was released on 19 February 2013 (under the name Lady Lamb The Beekeeper). I bought this when it came out and immediately became a fan of her work. Since that time Spralto has released two full length albums along with an EP all worth picking up, provided you want one more singer/songwriter in your collection.

This year Spaltro and her record company Ba Da Bing (co-run by Simon Joyner) are celebrating a decade of Ripely Pine with a box set containing four albums on five LPs. I'll go through the albums one at a time.

The first up is a remastered version of that all important debut Ripely Pine. You will see the album cover, the gatefold and the back of the album.

This album is pressed on clear vinyl and you can see two shots of the color vinyl.

Here are the four sides of the vinyl. On this edition she adds the song Up In The Rafters on the fourth side of the album which was once only a three sided album.

The second album in this set is titled Still Pining. Since there isn't a booklet with this set, I'm not certain what all of these tracks represent. As you can see on the obi in that first photo it indicates "23 New Studio Recordings," but what does that mean? Below are the front and back of Album 2 followed by the record labels. (And no, I cannot explain why the digital camera suddenly changed the background to blue instead of white.)

Album Number Three is titled Kicking Around. The same sequence follows as seen above.

The final album in the set is Hiding Out. It is the same as the others: cover, back, Sides one and two.

It was a night of lights and love. The first thing you saw when you walked into Spirit Hall was a big lighting display, aptly named the Vault. The whole thing was created and manned by Ian Brill. The colors changed and moved in waves with the music, creating a mesmerizing effect for both watchers and performers.

The opener, Tōth, kicked it all off with a solo set. He manned the stage with a guitar, trumpet, pedal board, and most of all his impressive vocal range. Along with the dreamy state of his songs, he also engaged with the audience, getting us to sing along with him. Which, for the record everyone did very enthusiastically. 

Then of course there was Lady Lamb. This was my second time seeing her and she only gets more and more stunning. Like I said, the theme tonight was love. And Aly had no problem opening up and talking about love with us. Her family, her girlfriend, her neighbors, even us. The lights above made us visible and she kept commenting on how adorable the crowd was. And true enough, if you looked around there was so much love to be had in that night. Her music touched everyone, the crowd swaying and bobbing to tender love songs to the more intense ones about personal autonomy (looking at you Bird Balloons). The band also consisted of two women up in front on bass and keys, a very important first for Lady Lamb. All in all, a very gorgeous and well rounded performance. I can’t wait for her to come back to Pittsburgh again.
