I really hope when the soft reboot for the X-Men happens that Hank ends up with the Avengers. I think he just needs to be away from them for a bit, to rebuild some of those relationships and be around people who still love him but also won't let him do stupid shit, like Simon and Carol and to a lesser extent Wanda and Vision. I also think it would be fun if Hank isn't like, an evil person, but he does have a little bit of X-Force in him at least initially and Simon and Carol keep having to pick him up like a naughty kitten when he suggests murder as a possible avenue when fighting Kang or whoever and tell him to knock it off.

THINKING abt the tags on this post bc like. when flint meets madi he stops seeing his men as cannon fodder. he still makes tactical choices that lead to the deaths of his men, of course he does, he’s a commander in a war. BUT in knowing madi and the care she has for her men, and in finding a new purpose for fighting to protect something rather than just for revenge, he starts to think “maybe we can all get through this” rather than “do I need to use the men’s lives to get me past this obstacle and if so how.” but because this is a story about revolutionary optimism in which Madi’s role is to be the one to care for her men, we never see her forced to make choices where she would have to gamble with her men’s lives to continue the war. and I would KILL to see her later in the war as it played out forced to make a choice like the one flint did in the doldrums when he decided to starve half his men to save the other half. if it’s gamble her men’s lives to save her war, of course she chooses the former! but how does that affect her as a leader and how does that affect her position with her men and how does that affect her relationship w flint. we don’t know, bc it’s the nature of her place in the story that we never see it
