Really fucking funny how basically every time the X-Men get genocided the same fucking group of people always survives without fail. Who is an active character who ACTUALLY died in the last one. Jean? Yeah like that's gonna last. If you want us to pretend to give a shit that the mutants are dead and the stakes have never been this high you can at least kill Logan or Emma, and for longer than like. a year. allergic to consequences ass writing.

Hi I made an instagram for my photography! I haven't posted anything to it yet bc I'm shy but my subjects will mostly be various landscapes and macro photography, but you will see me dabble in portraiture and street photography as well. I'd v appreciate some followers there! :333

you know when irish people were fighting for freedom the rebels were never considered revolutionaries or freedom fighters. we had only ever been called terrorists by the british government, because when you call a people fighting for their rights and their freedoms terrorists you can distance yourself from them. people aren't fighting because they've been radicalised by 800 years of colonialism or 75 years of brutal settler imperialism, they're fighting because they're dirty terrorists trying to hurt our democracy and kill our children. and now we don't have any responsibility to reckon with the years of subjugation and settler violence and attempted genocide, because how can you expect us to deal with terrorists? the same story repeats itself over and over n it's shocking how people will eat it up every time when it comes to protecting and maintaining western power.

My least favourite type of internet person is the person who claims fanfic is over thousands of years old or whatever. I understand we like to joke but fanfiction is fundamentally tied to fandom culture and is a very specific way of engaging with media. Religious texts based off other religious texts is not fanfiction and it is worrying the only way you can justify your interest is by comparing the two. I promise you you don't have to reinvent the wheel to write fanfic you can just do that but we don't have to say "Shakespeare wrote fanfiction about Richard III", there was not a Richard III fandom in 1592, that was called the divine right of kings.

Nah after the whole mess with various members of the AO3 staff being made "uncomfortable" by a volunteers' pro-Palestinian views that eventually ended in them no longer volunteering, it's absolutely justifiable to say it's questionable to continue to dedicate money to the organisation until they release an official apology. The person who was removed themself said to stop donating. You cannot donate to an organisation that puts its anti-censorship status in the bin to prosecute someone for being Pro-Palestine in good faith while claiming to be for Palestinian liberation. And if someone calls you spineless, sorry that makes you uncomfortable and feel bad, but... you are. Frankly.

"but hamas is getting funded by extremist islamic hate groups!" do you think the U.S. government and military giving funding for israeli's war efforts against palestinians is a morally neutral and inherently righteous body that had no influence in the politics of southwest asia as a global colonial superpower. do you really think anything you can say about the people resisting oppression can't be said about the oppressors.

hate that comic books just end now. what happened to switching writers around issue 45 in an awkward but meaningful finale that had to awkwardly tie up everything author 1 had done but also had to set up whatever author 2 wanted to get started on. now we just have like 5 issue 1's in one year bc marvel realised we don't have to make good comics people will literally just buy anything with a 1 on it

genuinely i find it weird when people are SO MUCH like fuck canon nothing has to make sense because to me. especially in big two comics... im in there for the history. the chronology. the continuing stories that span many different hands and many different eras. who someone is in the 40s vs the 60s vs the 90s vs the 2010s and how each time they reflect that era's trends and fears. that's so interesting to me and it's part of why i love the genre. i can understand not wanting people to be shackled by canon but that's why there are independent comics. comics like red sonja where it's the basic outline and you can make whatever story you want within that. or completely original works. granted they're more of a challenge financially and don't always work out but i just think that we shouldn't make cape comics something they aren't. respecting the origins and thoughts and intentions of creators and contributors from decades prior while infusing a character with modern sensibilities is so interesting and cool to me! i don't know why some people really don't want anything to do with that!
