what kind of plant should I get if im living in a dorm room with not much natural light and not much owner attention to give?
:0 well there's a few options. if you have absolutely no window but lamps / an overhead that stays on for a decent chunk of the day, any bamboo, sanseveria or aglaonema variation, several dracean variations, the zz plant, the spider plant, the peace lily, or the cast iron plant. several of these plants you could grow in a cup of water, but if not, planted in soil and then watered thoroughly when the soil is dry is fine too (usually every 2 weeks? depends on the airflow and temp in your dorm- if its warmer/draftier you may need to water once per week).
if by "not much natural light" you mean it recieves some light but only for a certain time of day, or something else, but you DO get some sunlight, then i'd recommend a christmas cactus, jade plant, kalanchoe or aloe vera (this is only if you get sunlight and put them on the window). they're desert succulents/cacti and can dry out well in between each watering. some may not need water for a month at a time.
for some indirect sunlight (meaning they're not hit directly by the sun but are recieving the light) i'd recommend any pothos and diffenbachias, and most philodendrons, excluding maybe the more rare and expensive ones. pothosnjoy, philodendron brasil, scindapsus exotica and diffenbachia tiki are specific examples.
umm my personal fav plants (they're not for everyone) that could also work are any variation of the ficus elastic, or ficus rubber tree (theres burgundy, ruby, tineke, etc), SYNGONIUMS (the white butterfly/strawberry cream/marie can be found for cheap), the nerve plant (fittonia), blue star fern or most pepperomia variations (watermelon is nice).
whatever you end up getting, unless they already come in good soil, they'll probably need to be repotted. i'd just recommend getting a plastic pot and then putting that into thr nicer pot, so you can keep an eye on the root system etc. any cacti or succulents will need their own mix, most other houseplants are fine in an indoor/tropical houseplant mix.
then yeah, put it into its spot, water it thoroughly whenever the water is dry, and if its a plant that flowers you can give it food. otherwise, just don't put it in the direct line with a fan or vent. should be fine!
this became a lot, but i hope it helps!

Keep It Tidy 7 Easy Ways to Clean Up Animal Cat Hair
We likewise consist of suggestions for maintaining pet cat hair hid on furniture as well as carpets. Animal pet cat hair gets throughout every little thing: garments, furnishings, carpets, feline trees-- you call it. You probably get covered with it. To that end, adhere to these ideas. 1. A dirt roller Roll it on your garments, as well as voila! Hair is gone! If your dirt roller is uninhabited, make use of masking tape or sealing tape instead. Use it to your clothes, sticky side down, in addition to watch the hair vanish. 2. A hoover with family pet canine hair eliminator attachment Several vacuum function unique brushes to eliminate family pet cat hair from furnishings along with carpetings. You can acquire an utterly excellent family pet hair-removing vac for a sensible cost. 3. Cat-hair eliminator glove This one-of-a-kind handwear cover has a rubberized surface that you can massage throughout furnishings or bed linens-- ideal for fast cleansings as opposed to huge fur elimination jobs. If you have an emergency situation cleansing (since the in-laws are revealing up in 15 mins), make use of a latex or rubber handwear cover. 4. White vinegar If you have actually obtained heavily furred clothing or bed linens, consist of half a mug of white vinegar to the rinse cycle when doing the cleaning. The vinegar loosens up the hairs from the textile fibers. The only difficulty with vinegar is the scent, so attempt a natural blossom sachet in your garments dryer I utilize a lavender sachet as opposed to anti-static sheet, as well as my clothes bring out a light, clean fragrance. 5. The dryer. Run your products through the clothes dryer on a warm setting before throwing them in the washing maker. The tumbling activity loosens up pet feline hair and likewise traps it in the dirt filter. Clean that filter before you dry out the garments; nonetheless, a blocked dust filter decreases drying out the performance and can start a fire. 6. Rubber mop or carpet rake If you have low-pile carpets, a rubber mop or rug rake can do doubt eliminating pet hair that hoover may not have the capacity to get. 7. Damp cloth This is wonderful for doing away with fur from home furnishings. Just damp a tidy fabric or sponge as well as also scrub it throughout the furnishings. The hair will come with each other in easy-to-remove chunks. Attempt these colors in addition to patterns for hiding cat hair Sometimes you don't have time to clean up feline hair, yet perhaps you would definitely at least like to not see it all over whatever. Have a look at these principles for fur-hiding colors. Avoid saturated shades: Black, brilliant teal, burgundy, and so forth often tend to display your family pet cat's fibers of love. Attempt Asian carpets: Although Asian carpetings usually are offered in spectacular color design, the patterns in these carpets do effectively at hiding pet dog feline fur. Cleanable furnishings covers: These or tosses treatments are beautiful for household pets as well as make your life a good deal much simpler when it comes time to acquire that feline hair out of your prized possessions. Stick to patterns: Tweedy textiles or materials with neutral shades in various tones can conceal a plethora of misdoings. Tweed itself does tend to hold onto pet feline hair, which could make it more challenging to cleanse. I have actually furthermore had all the best with utilizing batik tapestries as furnishings covers. Various various other created carpetings can work. Do pass by highly light colors due to the fact that also patterns will not conceal pet dog cat hair if the rug is white, off-white, and light grey, as an instance. Light rugs also reveal dirt easily. new cat owner

How to  Grow & Maintain Rubber Plants: Benefits and Uses
Introduction: Rubber Plants are also known as ficus elastica, thrive in bright, indirect light. If you want to give more time to your plants with filtered sunlight, keep them near a window where they can receive filtered sunlight. By doing so, you will provide them with their natural light priority and ensure their healthy development. Note that you should not directly expose them to sunlight, as it can burn their leaves. Therefore, you should not place them directly under direct sunlight. They prefer well draining soil, so make sure the pot has good drainage. These beauties are native to Southeast Asia and are loved for their glossy, dark green leaves and their ability to add a touch of elegance to any indoor space. Rubber plants are known for their air-purifying qualities, as they can help remove toxins from the air, making your home environment healthier. They are relatively low-maintenance plants, making them perfect for plant enthusiasts of all levels. With the right care, they can grow into stunning, tall trees that make a bold statement. They also appreciate well-draining soil and should be watered when the top inch of soil feels dry. Remember not to overwater them, as they are susceptible to root rot. Pruning your rubber plant can help maintain its shape and remove any dead or yellowing leaves. You can also wipe the leaves with a damp cloth to keep them clean and dust-free.
So, if you're looking for a stylish and low-maintenance plant to add to your indoor jungle, a rubber plant might just be the perfect choice.
Best Health Benefits of rubber plants:
1. Air purification: Like many other houseplants, rubber plants can help improve indoor air quality by removing toxins and releasing oxygen. This can create a healthier environment for you to breathe in.
2. Stress reduction: Being around plants, including rubber plants, has been shown to have a calming effect on our minds. They can help reduce stress and promote feelings of relaxation and well-being.
3. Mood enhancement: The presence of plants in your space, like rubber plants, can help improve your mood. They add a touch of nature and beauty, which can have a positive impact on your overall well-being.
4. Potential humidity regulation: Some people believe that rubber plants can increase humidity in the air, which can be beneficial for those with dry skin or respiratory issues.
5. Concentration: Having plants, including rubber plants, in your workspace or study area can help improve focus and concentration. The presence of greenery can create a calming and soothing environment, allowing you to stay more attentive and productive.
6. Better sleep: Rubber plants, like many other houseplants, release oxygen and improve indoor air quality. This can create a more conducive environment for sleep by promoting better air circulation and reducing pollutants. Additionally, the calming effect of plants can help relax your mind and prepare you for a restful night's sleep.
Types of Rubber Plants: There are a few different types of rubber plants that you might find interesting:
1. Ficus elastica: This is the most common type of rubber plant. It has large, glossy leaves that are typically dark green, although there are also variegated varieties available.
2. Ficus elastica 'Burgundy': This variety of rubber plant has deep burgundy-coloured leaves, adding a touch of rich colour to your indoor space.
3. Ficus elastica 'Tineke': This variety has variegated leaves with shades of green, cream, and pink. It's a stunning and eye-catching option for plant enthusiasts.
4. Ficus elastica 'Robusta': This variety has broader and larger leaves compared to the standard rubber plant. It's known for its robust and sturdy growth.
Conclusion: Money plants prefer to have their soil slightly moist but not overly wet. It's important to let the top inch of soil dry out before watering again to prevent overwatering, which can lead to root rot. One of the unique features of money plants is their ability to purify the air by removing toxins such as formaldehyde and benzene. This makes them a great addition to any indoor space, especially offices or bedrooms. Another interesting aspect of money plants is their reputation for bringing good luck and prosperity. In many cultures, they are believed to attract wealth and abundance. Some people even place them near their financial areas or in their money corners to enhance their financial well-being. With their attractive foliage, easy care requirements, and positive symbolism, money plants are a fantastic choice for both beginner and experienced plant enthusiasts a like.

Lady Palm achieved the same high score for its humidifying and air cleaning effectiveness, as well as being resistant to most types of plant insects. Rhapis excelsa (Lady Palm) Bamboo Palm scored just a notch below the two top air purifying palms. The Bamboo palm thrives when kept moist (but not wet) in indirect sunlight. Rubber Plant was fourth on NASA’s scoring scale.  This plant particularly excels at removing formaldehyde and requires less light than its counterparts. (Note:  Rubber plant leaves can be toxic if ingested by pets or children)  Ficus burgundy or Rubber Plant Dracaena also called “Janet Craig” will start purifying the air as soon as it is brought into a room. Dracaena fragrans Dragon Tree English Ivy has been called “a fix for allergies“. It has been acclaimed for eliminating 60% of airborne mold in a room in just 6 hours.  Allergy and asthma suffers would do well to give English ivy a try! Date Palm Tree, while not as effective as its other palm cousins, is still very effective in lowering the concentration of chemical toxins floating around in the air. Ficus Alii is not as potent in its toxin-removing prowess, but still came in 8th on NASA’s list of air cleaners. Boston Fern has been called the “most efficient filtering plant” for its time-tested ability to expel mold and toxins from indoor air.  The Boston fern is considered one of the lucky plants. It is thought to purify the air and this helps to create a sense of positivity in any room. https://thegardeningcook.com/care-of-boston-fern/ Peace Lilly rounds out NASA’s list.  Keep this beautiful indoor air toxin killer healthy with plenty of water and modest amount of sunlight.
