Simbi water spirits are revered in Hoodoo originating from Central African spiritual practices. When Africans were enslaved in the United States, they blended African spiritual beliefs with Christian baptismal practices. Enslaved African Americans prayed to Simbi water spirits during their baptismal services. In 1998, in a historic house in Annapolis, Maryland called the Brice House archaeologists unearthed Hoodoo artifacts inside the house that linked to the Kongo people. These artifacts are the continued practice of the Kongo's minkisi and nkisi culture in the United States brought over by enslaved Africans. For example, archeologists found artifacts used by enslaved African Americans to control spirits by housing spirits inside caches or nkisi bundles. These spirits inside objects were placed in secret locations to protect an area or bring harm to slaveholders. "In their physical manifestations, minkisi (nkisi) are sacred objects that embody spiritual beings and generally take the form of a container such as a gourd, pot, bag, or snail shell. Medicines that provide the minkisi with power, such as chalk, nuts, plants, soil, stones, and charcoal, are placed in the container." Nkisi bundles were found in other plantations in Virginia and Maryland. For example, nkisi bundles were found for the purpose of healing or misfortune. Archeologists found objects believed by the enslaved African American population in Virginia and Maryland to have spiritual power, such as coins, crystals, roots, fingernail clippings, crab claws, beads, iron, bones, and other items assembled together inside a bundle to conjure a specific result for either protection or healing. These items were hidden inside slaves' dwellings. These practices were concealed from slaveholders.
Tumblr media
In Darrow, Louisiana at the Ashland-Belle Helene Plantation historians and archeologists unearthed Kongo and Central African practices inside slave cabins. Enslaved Africans in Louisiana conjured the spirits of Kongo ancestors and water spirits by using seashells. Other charms were found in several slave cabins, such as silver coins, beads, polished stones, bones, and were made into necklaces or worn in their pockets for protection. These artifacts provided examples of African rituals at Ashland Plantation. Slaveholders tried to stop African practices among their slaves, but enslaved African Americans disguised their rituals by using American materials and applying an African interpretation to them and hiding the charms in their pockets and making them into necklaces concealing these practices from their slaveholders. In Talbot County, Maryland at the Wye House plantation where Frederick Douglass was enslaved in his youth, Kongo related artifacts were found. Enslaved African Americans created items to ward off evil spirits by creating a Hoodoo bundle near the entrances to chimneys which was believed to be where spirits enter. The Hoodoo bundle contained pieces of iron and a horse shoe. Enslaved African Americans put eyelets on shoes and boots to trap spirits. Archaeologists also found small carved wooden faces. The wooden carvings had two faces carved into them on both sides which were interpreted to mean an African American conjurer who was a two-headed doctor. Two-headed doctors in Hoodoo means a conjurer who can see into the future and has knowledge about spirits and things unknown.
Tumblr media
At Levi Jordan Plantation in Brazoria, Texas near the Gulf Coast, researchers suggests the plantation owner Levi Jordan may have transported captive Africans from Cuba back to his plantation in Texas. These captive Africans practiced a Bantu-Kongo religion in Cuba, and researchers excavated Kongo related artifacts at the site. For example, archeologists found in one of the cabins called the "curer's cabin" remains of an nkisi nkondi with iron wedges driven into the figure to activate its spirit. Researchers found a Kongo bilongo which enslaved African Americans created using materials from white porcelain creating a doll figure. In the western section of the cabin they found iron kettles and iron chain fragments. Researchers suggests the western section of the cabin was an altar to the Kongo spirit Zarabanda

Today we venerate Hoodoo Saint Harriet Ross Tubman aka Black Moses on the 110th anniversary of her passing🕊
Tumblr media
Whew! A legendary Freedom Fighter, Mama Moses wore many decorated crowns as a mammoth Abolitionist, chief Conductor on the Underground Railroad, an expert Hunte and Lumberjack, a Nurse, an armed scout & spy for the Union Army during the Civil War - becoming the 1st Woman to ever spearhead an armed military assault. Later, she opened her door to the elderly, sick, & disabled, and advocated for them until her death.
Born Araminta "Minty" Ross as the middle child of 9 siblings to enslaved parents on a plantation in Dorchester County, MD, she suffered a massive blow to the head that would spur a lifetime of seizures, headaches, deep slumbers, & visions. She went on to marry a "Free" man by the surname of Tubman & took on her mother's first given name, "Harriet". In 1849, her husband, parents, & siblings were set to be split up & sold off. Under the cover of darkness, she fled the plantation solo on foot and followed the North Star to escape the jaws of slavery by way of Philadelphia, PA. She'd survive13-19 rescue missions back into the Antebellum South, liberating over 300 souls, as the most infamous Conductor on the Underground Railroad who, over the span of a decade, had "never lost a single passenger", which dubbed her the nickname, "Moses". The bounty for her life maxed out at $40K. Freedom wasn't free & Mama Moses never hesitated to remind her passengers of that. She carried herbs to silence a crying baby and pulled a gun on any cowardly man who might give away their position.
"You'll be Free or Die. " - Mama Moses to her passengers on the Underground Railroad.
Venerated as a Hoodoo Saint to many, Mama Moses was a Seer, a Clairvoyant Dreamer, Dream Interpreter, a Revolutionary Conjurer Woman & Rootworker - born to parents of the same cloth. She received Divine messages & Ancestral knowledge/wisedom through prophetic visions & dreams. Mama Moses proudly attributed her unparalleled death defying success to her Divine guidance, Conjure, Rootwork, intuitive gifts & her faithful willingness to trust/follow them.
Folks have a tendency to grossly undermine, if not outright ignore, the significant pillars that Hoodoo Cosmology, Religion, & Tradition played in her life and in her fight for freedom. Recently, archeologists uncovered her "spirit cache" at her family's home in Maryland; these were some of the Blackbelt Hoodoo staples of her time including: glass bottles - for protection against evil spirits, a figurine made it iron nails - possibly a something akin to an Nkisi, a copper button, perfume bottle topper, and other red & blue items.
Mama Moses transitioned peaceful & free at her home/on her land in Auburn, NY where she is rests at the cemetery in Auburn, NY. She is still expected to be immortalized on the $20 bill USD, however that promise has yet to be met.
We pour libations & give Mama Moses her 💐 for her bravery & selfless service. May she bless the elderly, disabled, young, women, & Workers who seek/fight for freedom.
Offering suggestions: Milk, Apples, & Orange flowers

#061 - The Best News of Last Week - October 31, 2022
🎃 — Happy Halloween! Let’s read some good news to start the week!
1. A New Climate Reality Is Coming Into View — in just 5 years humanity has cut expected warming almost in half
Tumblr media
Nice to see balance coming in on this stuff. The situation is *not good*, but the reporting and social focus until now has been “…and therefore you are doomed.” This causes apathy, just like when people say “all politicians are the same” when they are very clearly not.
We need to focus both on how bad things are, but also the solutions for how we get through this. They exist, and we can have them. It’s going to be a life-long fight, especially once you realize that certain people make a lot more money if you think you’re doomed.
2. Germany plans to legalise recreational cannabis
Tumblr media
Germany’s coalition government has agreed on a plan to legalise recreational cannabis use among adults.
Possession of up to 30g (1oz) for personal use would be allowed. Licensed shops and pharmacies would sell it.
3. Hundreds of rare birds rescued from island cut off by Hurricane Ian
Tumblr media
Volunteers helped transport the flock from a bird sanctuary to a temporary new home, where they’ll stay until bridge access can be restored to Pine Island.
The birds have been relying on food donated by wildlife officials since Hurricane Ian hit, but the supply of fruit, peanuts and other edibles would soon be hard to come by because of the downed bridge and the scarcity of gasoline on the island. In the hours before the storm, the sanctuary owners herded their flock of birds and packed them into their home to shield them from the ferocity of the elements.
4. A train passenger saw a woman waving for help. It was a hiker who’d been missing.
Tumblr media
An injured hiker near Silverton, Colo., was rescued earlier this month after a train passenger spotted her from the window. She was frantically waving on the other side of a river, having just spent two days trapped in the wilderness with a broken leg.
The rider alerted the crew of the Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge diesel engine №461, according to the San Juan County Office of Emergency Management. They then notified the train inspector, Delton Henry, who was in a motor car behind them.
5. Same-sex marriage is now legal in all of Mexico’s states
Tumblr media
Lawmakers in the state of Tamaulipas voted Wednesday night to legalize same-sex marriages, becoming the last of Mexico’s 32 states to authorize such unions.
The measure to amend the state’s Civil Code passed with 23 votes in favor, 12 against and two abstentions, setting off cheers of “Yes, we can!” from supporters of the change.
6. North Expedition finds cache of cameras on remote Yukon glacier, 85 years after mountaineer left them behind
Tumblr media
A DeVry “lunchbox” camera left behind on Mount Lucania in 1937. An expedition team recently uncovered the camera along with other artifacts stashed by legendary mountaineer Bradford Washburn 85 years ago
The team recovered a portion of Washburn’s cherished aerial F-8 camera — a format he would later become known for worldwide — as well as two motion picture cameras and old climbing gear, tents and cooking items. (That included part of a T-bone steak, Post noted — “They were eating pretty well out there, it appeared.”)
“It was just the full array of gear from what they were using in the 1930s,” said Post, a professional skier and mountain explorer.

...The case took a wrong turn when charges were filed against a couple who stumbled upon the burglars when they came to the house to bring the murdered man a pecan pie.....
Martin Cameron Bond, Utah inmate 211601, born 1989. incarceration intake in 2013 at age 25, sentenced to life
Murder
In March 2013, Martin Cameron Bond knew his sentence before he walked into American Fork's 4th District courthouse: life without the possibility of parole.
He had agreed to the sentence to escape the death penalty in the event a jury found him guilty of aggravated murder in the 2009 death of retired Brigham Young University professor Kay Mortensen. That jury verdict came on Jan. 18, 2013.
But the stipulation didn't stop the 25-year-old from asking 4th District Judge Thomas Low to sentence him to 25 years to life, which offered the possibility of parole.
"I don't use drugs, I don't drink," said the shackled killer, dressed in a red jumpsuit. "I don't use tobacco products... I always thought Corrections was for rehabilitation."
Bond asked the judge to allow the parole board to determine whether he was "worthy of a second chance." But Low said his hands were tied and sentenced Bond to spend the rest of his life in the Utah State Prison.
"Fair enough, your honor," Bond said before being led back into a holding cell. "Thank you."
Prosecutors have said Bond and an accomplice, Benjamin David Rettig (Utah inmate 203136), killed Mortensen to get the cache of guns he kept in his Payson home. The professor was found kneeling over his bathtub, his throat cut, a stab wound in his neck.
The case initially took a wrong turn when charges were filed against Roger Mortensen and his wife, Pamela Mortensen, who stumbled upon the burglars when they came to the house to bring Mortensen a pecan pie.
The couple were tied up but eventually freed themselves and called for help when they found Mortensen's body. Police initially didn't believe their story, however, and the couple were held in jail for five months and indicted by a grand jury before Bond's ex-wife tipped police.
Rettig — who is serving 25 years to life in prison — pleaded guilty in 2011 to aggravated murder and aggravated kidnapping for his part in the slaying. Bond was found guilty of aggravated murder, three counts of aggravated kidnapping, and one count each of aggravated burglary and aggravated robbery.
Bond apologized to Mortensen's family, calling the murder "a horrible tragedy that shouldn't have occurred."
Emotions remain volatile among some of Pamela and Roger Mortensen's friends and family, who are still upset over the couple's arrest and say the grand jury system needs to be revamped. Donna Rissinger, Pamela Mortensen's mother, told media reporters that the couple has never received restitution for the wrongful arrests, although they had to pay for attorneys and their cars were repossessed.
Deputy Utah County Attorney Tim Taylor said the decision to arrest the couple was based on evidence they had at the time.
"When you go back three years ago, we thought we were making the right decision," Taylor said.

King Stephen 12th Century Rare Penny Hoard Found in England
An unnamed metal detectorist recently discovered a scarce collection of 12th-century silver pennies near the village of Wymondham in the county of Norfolk in eastern England.
This valuable cache of coins included seven pieces minted during the reign of King Stephen and two more dated to the reigns of Stephen’s successors, Henry II and III.
A grandson of William the Conqueror, Stephen took the throne on the death of King Henry I. However most of his reign was spent in a bitter civil war between him and his rival for the throne, Henry’s daughter Matilda.
Tumblr media
The find is made up of two pennies, three cut halfpennies and two cut quarters of pennies from Stephen’s reign, as well as two cut quarters of short cross pennies from Henry II and Henry III’s reigns.
The discovery of pennies dating back to King Stephen’s reign is especially noteworthy, as these silver pieces are among the hardest to find of all medieval coins.
The Norfolk Historic Environment Service’s numismatist (coin expert) Adrian Marsden announced the discovery of this remarkable collection of rare coins.
In an interview with the BBC, expressed his opinion that the coins minted during King Stephen’s time had been carried together inside a coin purse, while the other two silver pieces had been lost separately at a later time by another individual.
“I suspect this is a purse loss because you’ve got chopped halves and quarters. With a hoard, you hide the best coins you’ve got,” Dr Marsden said.
Tumblr media
The Norman Conquest in 1066 destroyed Anglo-Saxon England’s “very monetised and sophisticated economy… setting the country back at least 100 years,” he said.
When money was scarce in the 11th and 12th centuries, pure silver pennies were crudely chopped into pieces of varying sizes to “reinflate” the money supply (put more money in circulation). Because new coins were not being minted in large quantities during King Stephen’s 12th-century reign, the newly discovered coins are an unusual and thus valuable discovery, even in their less-than-perfect condition.

Chapter 29 is being edited, so have a snippet of chapter 30 (which I only just started working on last night so it’s VERY rough)
Welcome to Kit’s third trial told from Jacob’s POV
(cw: violence, blood)
Jacob stood out on the balcony of his office, looking down on the ants that scurried below as the last few preparations were made. Standing behind him, Staci stood shrunken amongst several handpicked members of Chosen. Pale, sunken eyes were trained on her cage, watching her reaction to the events unfolding around her. While the others still sat in their cages, blind to the Peggies’ movements around them, Kit stood at the bars focused on her captors actions as they barred the gates and started moving weapons out into plain sight of the “recruits”. This wasn’t the usual protocol and it was clear she was on high alert, combat readiness taking over. He’d warned her this day was coming, that he’d give her the time to get back up to strength and then she’d have to fight. Fight for her life once again.
With all the personnel back in the safety of the Veterans Center, he pulled the small, wooden music box from the back pocket of his jeans. Giving Kit one last fleeting look, he opened the lid and the opening chords began to play to “Only You”.
Like a dog whistle being blown at a frequency only they could hear, the recruits began to react, climbing the bars of their cages like it was feeding time, a frenzy taking over them, except Kit. There was always a certain calm about her, and while the others became lesser beings – bottom dwellers – she became more.
It was remarkable, something he’d never seen before in all of his testing with the Bliss and the conditioning. He’d run trials on nearly every species of animal available to him in Hope County, tested it on dozens of people before the Reaping had ever even been called down, and never once had any of the others remained controlled like her.
The anger, the violence, that was what he expected, a fugue state of uncontrolled and unbridled rage fueling an individual. But not with Kit, no Kit became more of what she already was, as if her father’s training had already distilled her down to the perfect soldier that he’d been looking for for all this time.
The empty shell she said she was.
Bottomless red.
The weapons were carted out by armed guards, and the cage doors opened one by one. The recruits had enough sense to stand there, waiting until the guards had moved out of the way – they weren’t the intended target – before running out into the maze of cages. A wave of bodies swarmed to get their hands on whatever they could grab as weapons. As they worked themselves up, tearing at each other for the best of what was available, Kit ran to the crates left over to the side where the others hadn’t been looking.
He knew she’d be smart enough not to run into the hordes, not yet anyway. She’d been watching the guards, taking note of where they’d left the weapons caches while the others shook at their bars like wild baboons. She had a tactical mind, easily adaptable to most situations, able to come up with a plan B and C in a moment’s notice.
Good.
Slipping a combat knife down the side of her boot, she grabbed a handgun, checking the magazine before sticking it down the waistband at the back of her jeans. Peaking over her shoulder, she watched as the others started to attack one another, clearing the number of threats for her. She grabbed the assault rifle from on top of the crates and swung the strap over her shoulder.
She had her favored tools that she used on every job, even under the effects of the conditioning that part of her hadn’t changed. A real soldier had to put trust in their weapons, it meant life or death on the battlefield.
Jacob gave two short waves of his pointer and middle fingers and his men moved to the wooden railing, shoving Staci forward with them, joining the Herald as they watched the trials happen in their own backyard.
Turning his head enough to see Staci’s reaction, a small smirk pulled at the corner of his lips as Staci’s eyes grew wide watching the mass of people begin to run at her, flailing wildly, not even bothering to aim as they hip fired and sprayed bullets in her direction.
Staci grabbed at the railing, sweat forming on his brow. “They’re gonna - they’re gonna kill her,” he exclaimed.
Jacob shook his head, stoic, he showed no signs of fear even as the Deputy took on fifty people alone. “No, they won’t.”
Dark eyes flared up at Jacob, manic with fear. “There’s too many of them.”
Grabbing the back of Staci’s head, his fingers clinging to the shaggy brown hair of the younger man, Jacob forced him to witness the bloodshed down below. “Just watch,” he growled.
Bullets sprayed, ricocheting off metal. Nothing but shouting and screaming echoed out across the grounds, like demons from Hell had found their way up to the Earth. Blood splattered across supply crates and on the barriers that closed off the rest of the courtyard from the current festivities. Recruits ripped and tore at each other, using the barbed wire that encircled the walls around the cages as weapons all the same. The dirt on the ground was stained crimson as knives were pulled from chests and guts, and throats slit painting passersby in red.
So much red.
As the feral things clawed through the meat that scattered the ground, Kit appeared in the milieu. The cold, unfeeling machine made for only one thing. Dispatching their numbers swiftly and easily, she was brutal in her executions. Quick shots to the head, not wasting time on grotesque scenes of violent debauchery like the others. She enjoyed the death, there was no denying that, but she saw no sense in making a show of it. They were nothing more than cannon fodder to her, pests that needed to be wiped out of existence. Bodies dropped like flies, her boots stomping over the half dead to cleave her way through the others that still stood in her way.
Excellent.
Jacob gripped tighter at the hair on the back of Staci’s head pulling a hiss from the younger man, his eyes welling with tears of pain.
Blood spilled seeped into the ground, fertilizing it for war. Her territory marked, she was covered in the remnants of the lives she’d stolen. The moaning of the nearly dead like a Gregorian choir singing of her arrival.
"But - but all the recruits?"
Staci tried to turn his head to look at Jacob, but the grip he still held on him made it impossible to move. Not that seeing his face would do much, he wore the same emotionless stare he always did.
"Don't need them if we have her."
"But I - I thought they were supposed to be getting saved? Proving their strength?"
"They are, Peaches. Compared to her they don’t stand a chance."
Leaping over crates, taking cover from the last few prisoners left with guns, she dove out from behind the cement barricade and fired her rifle, getting quick, clean head shots as she made her way through the end of the maze of cages.
Arriving in the courtyard out front where the trucks usually stopped to make their deliveries, Kit stopped dead in her tracks, staring up at a man crucified upon a post with a potato sack over his head. Muffled wails carried across the wind from his gagged mouth. Taped to the bag, hanging where his own face should be, was a wanted sign for Eli.
For a split second Jacob stopped breathing, waiting to see what she’d do. This was what it all came down to, where how far the conditioning sunk in would be proven. A step away from her loyalties being tested.
Slipping the strap of her rifle from her shoulder, she tossed the weapon to the ground. She pulled the handgun from the back of her jeans, taking a breath to line up her shot, and letting off two shots right between the eyes in rapid succession.
Perfect.

Wadea's life was brutally taken away on Saturday, when he was stabbed 26 times with a military-style knife at his unincorporated Plainfield home just before 11:40 a.m. Chopper 7 was over the scene in the 16200 block of South Lincoln Highway near Lily Cache Road. Will County investigators said on Sunday that Wadea and his mother were attacked by their landlord, Joseph M. Czuba. The 71-year-old is now charged with first-degree murder, attempted first-degree murder, and two counts of committing a hate crime. "What we have is a murdered Palestinian child by someone who is radicalized by the environment in which we live right now, that casts Palestinians as human animals," said Ahmed Rehab, president of the Council on American-Islamic Relations.

Ancient hoard of gold Roman coins discovered in plowed UK field
Tumblr media
A cache of gold coins found buried on farmland in the United Kingdom has caught the attention of coin experts, who have linked the treasure trove to the Roman Empire.
So far, metal detectorists have discovered 11 coins on a remote stretch of cultivated field located in Norfolk, a rural county near England's eastern coast, and experts remain hopeful that more could be unearthed in the future.
Damon and Denise Pye, a pair of local metal detectorists, found the first of several gold coins in 2017, after local farmers finished plowing the soil at the end of the harvest season, which made the land prime for exploration. The haul has been dubbed "The Broads Hoard" by local numismatists (coin specialists and collectors), for its geographic location near The Broads, a network of rivers and lakes that run through the English countryside. I'm Blaming the Full Moon
I posted twice here and it vanished. I double and tripled checked that I hadn't accidentally saved them as drafts instead of posting, but nope. I guess my boring little posts are just floating around out there with the rest of the space junk. Little words and photos that extraterrestrials won't understand. That's more fun to think about than the fact that the Tumblr server had a glitch and my posts just bounced off. I don't know how any of that works, so floating in space still seems like the more realistic option. BUT, I'm here, ready and willing to try again. I've spent a lovely couple of days puttering around the house. I put some mums out and I'm going to will them to live while we're gone. I just couldn't wait. Tomorrow I'll probably tidy up the yard a bit more in preparation for full blown fall. I imagine that by the time we return we'll see more color in the trees, we're seeing hints right now. Exciting!
Tumblr media
On Monday morning we'll fly out of Baltimore, land in Toronto, then take off again for Dublin. We'll arrive in Dublin early Tuesday morning and shenanigans shall commence. We'll do a clockwise tour of the Emerald Isle. After a day in Dublin we'll head down the east coast to Wexford and Waterford, then turn west and head to County Kerry, Killarney, and finally Killorglin where our Air BnB is located. That will be our base for exploring the Dingle Peninsula, Ring of Kerry, and the Aran Islands. After about a week of that we'll say goodbye to Killorglin and head north to Galway (and points in between) for a bit and see what there is to see. Finally we'll leave Galway to head east toward Dublin again, visiting the Hill of Tara and anything else that caches our fancy. One last day in Dublin and then we'll wing our way homeward. I'm expecting to fall in love with the country. Mickey may have to drag my kicking and screaming onto the plane home. I'm packed, the house is clean, and we have a kitty sitter who will be popping in. I'll take the ol' laptop along and hopefully post a few times from the trip. If nothing else I can share some pics. Stay tuned for missives from Ireland! Stay safe, stay well. XOXO, Nancy

Sims 3 Memory Freer
Been kinda busy so I haven't had any sims3 time lately :( but I'm back at it and lookin' at Error 12 again, this time with an ASI file you can use!
Here is a link to the memory "freer", spoilers, it doesn't really free memory. Please read the readme, but basically it just shows a message box/alert when you're getting close to the cap, and has a hotkey (f8) for setting max detail lots to 0 (sometimes helps free memory in a pinch).
To use it you'll either need the smooth patches ASI loader or dxwrapper's (recommended), then just pop it into your Bin directory (make sure LoadPlugins is set to 1 if you're using dxwrapper). I'm also going to update my performance tweaks post to fix some of the now-inaccurate information, but most of the stuff there I still recommend (just not dxvk).
If anyone knows anything that triggers a purge/cleanup lmk! It would fix literally all of this. I've tried traveling to other maps, entering into various editors, changing settings, chanting hymns etc, but nothing seems to work.
Unfortunately nothing I've tried on the memory-freeing front has really panned out, but I still have some avenues that I want to check out. The issue seems to be lot objects not being fully unloaded once the lot is no longer high-detail loaded, which causes memory to balloon over time as more lots are detail loaded.
Here's some things I've tried, in typical rambling fashion, a lot of this will be meaningless to 99% of people:
DXVK…. Nooooooo…. It seems like it does increase overall memory usage. I'm not sure if I've just stuffed a config option up or something, but it seems to have a substantial impact. I'd recommend just sticking with d9 for now, or using dxwrappers 3D9On12 (idk if it actually works tho)
HeapCompact/Clearing working set. Clearing the working set will let you save, however it wont actually remove that memory, you'll just crash instead of getting an Error 12
Obvious memory leaks. Sadly every alloc has a free assigned to it, so there's no easy, obvious memory leaks.
Setting D3DPOOL to DEFAULT, game no like, textures don't display
Manually clearing textures. Kind of worked, but there's no real way to selectively know which textures are safe to unload, because the game often reports things wrong. I might revisit this failing everything else
Deleting cache files/save cleaning. Not a fan, doesn't fix the issue, merely delays it and makes your game look like glitchy garbage in the meantime. If you're going to clean your save, just delete the _objects file in WorldCaches and then mark it as read only. The sims one isn't worth the limbless horrors that await you, and sims load in much faster than objects, which can sit grey'd for minutes (or until you save your game and they all load in at once and crash you)
Various config options and settings. I did find some neat hidden options and some useful settings, but nothing that really has a huge impact. I found ForceHighLODObjects which is what I was looking for in my initial performance tweaks post, which basically cures stutter, at the cost of much higher memory usage. Useless until there's an object free-ing fix, and even then probably a very bad idea on maps like Alpine County.
Anywho, that's it for this post. Remember to always save in the map screen!
