DUSTVERSE - CHAPTER 1

The battlefield was a raging torrent of water and Dust was drowning. A reality-tearing ripping noise had completely shredded through the air, giving everything a static-like buzz that threatened to choke out any who were out among it.

No one had expected Nightmare’s magic seals to be able to be broken– least of all by his brother, Dream.

But things never really went to plan, huh?

--- OG Dust Sans, upon having his SOUL fragmented when getting attacked mid-shorcut, must now go through all of his alternate selves' universes in order to gather up the SOUL fragments.

However, he doesn't anticipate one key thing:

He has to accept and care about himself before he can return to the Bad Sanses.

Come on down and follow Dust as he gets tossed from AU to AU and is forced to learn that he's worth something.

( No, Dust will not have a "redemption arc" don't worry- he'll still be a murderous silly guy by the end of it. Only difference is that he'll be a murderous silly guy that knows his worth and cares about himself )

Little guy with big Boots and a little Crow

Officially named as Dusty Crumb!

Notes to his design:

He always has his crown on his head

Left eye is a bit smaler then the right one

Little dot under the left eye (in the center)

His eyes have little sharp pupile (like cats, but for him, they do not get any wider)

Has a little tail, he sometimes hides it tho

He has animal like back legs, becouse of that he is really faast when running on all four of them, but he still can stand normally like any Dust Tho you still will see that he has big feet..

Dusty Crumb is a pocket size version of Dust Sans

His hight depends on his L.O.V.Y.

He sees every Dust Sans as his a friend, but can see that they are not his Dust

Little guy will comite arson or steal, small usefull / nice looking or with high value stuff, whenever no one is looking

Lore;

Colour was just colour, maybe not the same colour others found it nice to talk to, but he tried his best.

The one thing they usually don't talk about being a Colour sans is that.. You're stuck. In this.. Strange grey place where Gasters usually are.

You can't leave of your own volition. You are stuck there until an Outcode decides to be your friend.. And you have to be a parasite friend, getting them to get you out.. How fucked up is that?

And since he wasn't.. Well? The most popular Colour.. Not to mention he wasn't all that fond of making others his friends just to get out, and use them..

He stayed. He stayed and watched his timeline go on.. And on and on.. Until eventually there was a true Pacifist ending.

No more bullshit stuff..

He hasn't heard his own voice in a long time...

Can he even hear it?

He doesn't really feel like trying..

He's so tired..

Nothing ever happens here... Nothing ever changes. Null. Empty. But the same. He's stopped thinking about leaving.. Where would he even go? Why would he go?...

Everything was tinted purple.. He only felt gloomy.. Neutral gloomy... Why?

Screaming..? Who's screaming?.. He's screaming... Purple, hot red, pink panic- Fear.. the people here aren't his.. Were they? They look different..

WHY DID IT CHANGE WHEN HE LEFT?

WAS HE THE ONE HOLDING EVERYBODY BACK FROM THE HAPPY ENDING?...Red. hot pink, bright blueberry mood, purple.. Null.

.. By the time Nightmare was at his side, holding him still and tight by the waist with a solid tendril.. There was only one person in front of him..

One person who.. Didn't remember him then.. And still won't now..

He felt.. Neutral.. Gloomy..

•TLDR; Treble goes on a rage of envy and hate in his AU for the fact that he was the issue the entire time, and he never asked for that.. Eventually causing well.. Another issue(AU got Dust!Sansed) by himself.

(Bros got self hate issues rip)

•Treble for the life of him can't fathom why people would do things in his favor, not realizing they just ended up slightly in his favor, despite it not trying to be.

•Nightmare basically kidnapped him, yeah, he's not sorry, cause he needed a minion. The only other minion he has is Horror, whom he also kidnapped, whaddya know.

•Treble has involuntary voice reverb. Horror likes it cause he's hard of hearing, Treble himself refuses to speak anymore more than he needs too.

•Treble sometimes has episodes of just... Not being able to do anything.. Lying on the floor, sitting in a chair, in bed.. Whenever and wherever.. He just stays there.. Feeling like he doesn't have any reason to get himself up for anything. Eating/drinking/ in general taking care of himself.

•Nightmare plans his days, sometimes instructions that are too vague leave Treble with nothing to do but loathe.. Nightmare does this on purpose sometimes when he needs negativity.

•sometimes Treble is startled when somebody knows who he is, his name, just him and acknowledges that they know him in some compacity. He's used to being a stranger nobody was aware of.

•Treble Sometimes starts to believe he isn't in a real environment (he is, because he doesn't hallucinate); and will touch or hold objects with some light weight in order to fix it. Textures help as well, and anybody he's comfy with making physical contact with him.

hey! i’m looking for a danger days fic, i remember really specifically gerard has a metal plate on the back of his neck that used to be a BLInd socket, it’s like sensitive to the touch. i can’t find it anywhere!

My heathers au is based on the musical - Heathers, where the mtt play the heathers, and Cross is Veronica; Dust plays Heather Chandler's role here.

basically, theyre just the mucical cast but they the utmv guys

In my head, its also an actor au, but you can totally ignore that for plot purposes ;)

Heather Chandler actually dies about halfway through the musical, murdered accidentally by Veronica and JD - or Cross and Nightmare here - so if you wanted Dust to be a ghost or alive, totally up to you!

Chandler's bossy, the leader of the Heathers, manipulative and unappolagetic - mean for the sake of being mean, really

His scarf takes the place of heathers scrunchie here, and when he died, Killer (H.Duke) takes it and wears it in to ‘take control’ if you will. Dust does Not Like That (™) 

This makes Horror (H.Mcnamara) really sad

Im gonna go through and tag all my heathers au now with 'Rues Heathers AU' so you should be able to find stuff ive done in the past from them, and stuff i will continue to make ;)

He or she pronouns are fine for Dust here, cus i couldnt really decide if i wanted to genderbend everyone to match the genders of the characters or not, so up to you really, both, one or the other, whatever lol

Pestilence is a bit more complicated; from my Four Horsemen Au - where Nightmare, Dust, Killer and Horror take the roles of the four horsemen, who are said to appear at the end of the humanity, and bring about the apocalypse and all that, from christian texts

Pestilance actually has a redesign since i made him, because hes one of my older things, so:

The first horseman, with a bow and crown, rides a white horse - Dust - Pestilence/Conquest

His crown is made of thorns and branches, jesus style, with melting candles dripping wax slowly; its said when the candles fully melt and the flames burn out, humanity is no more.

The actual 'crown' part of his crown are pitch black metal, and are shaped like arrows

The white sheet covers his face, the way you do to dead people - you do not want to end up seeing his face, because you wont see anything after it if you do ;)

he is constantly in a state of dusting - never fully committing to it,

His hands and body are covered and stained in monster dust and human blood, stains that can never be washed out

he is in a perpetual state of dusting, never really committing either way, just..constantly decaying

He constantly has this green illness liquid dripping from his eyes and mouth - its poison.

His arrows are all poison tipped as well

His bow and fletch are summonable, and attach to his belt easily - he can summon and de-summon them at will.

His horse - which i didnt draw because fuck that - is activly rotting and decaying, bones and rotting flesh making up its body. its a white horse, obviously, with voidless black eyes

both he and the horse trail dust everywhere, disease laying in the powder

the illness that he causes can be physical sickness, and it can be mental sickness, basically anything you count as ' being unwell' he can cause

hes a bit kooky really, he screams and cries and laughs a lot more than he actually talks but he is capable of it, hes just quiet and ominous really, and theres this lingering presence of illness and threat around him. like his space, which is ironic, because illness festers in crowded spaces, its where he thrives.

Do you read other people’s threads or do you only read your own? (I'm turning this into a two-part question, because I'm curious and thinking about my own habits, but obvi u don't have to answer if you don't wanna!) Do you backread/skim the dash activity that's happened since you were last on?

I do read other people's threads! Honestly I spend way more time online than I think people notice, because I lurk around a lot reading and just vibing. Generally there will be something that catches my eye and then I want the context and so I will go back to the first post and just. Munch munch munch back to the most current reply.

I do not read my entire dash all the time because that ... I mean it's just not feasible t;lksjfg;lkjtg I mean. If I never did anything else it would probably be possible but. I am following quite a number of people! and most people on my dash write longer threads, paragraph per reply each, so. I don't read everything.

I do back skim! but I don't always get back to the last time I was on before I refresh, especially if it's been awhile. If I'm invested in something I will just sporadically check the original post or one of the people writing its' tag because I do in fact miss things sometimes.

#i did used to backread the entire dustverse dash but that was a Much easier task #☩ genuinely about to haul off and start biting ( ooc. )

DETRITUS/ COSMIC DUST GUY INFO BELOW ⬇️

Detritus Is a Low-Level deity, at least in the hierarchy of other deities he is involved with.

He is an anomaly by their standards, the death of a star gave birth to this child of decay, he is reluctantly taken in by the others

He is younger, around 8000 years old id say😔

Detritus doesn’t know much about lower level beings, as the knowledge he has access to is rather restricted, furthermore, he doesn’t quite know his place, as he is not often given tasks.

he also doesn’t know much about just. normal life. he’s been shown things on. a very large scale but never when you zoom in and see the small things

Other deities claim grand titles and roles, but he is but decay, leaving him with no actions to take and no purpose to fulfill. they perpetuate this inaction with excuses

he befriends a star. this star is considered a lower being. this star makes him question the validity of the hierarchy of beings he’s been taught.

he begins to question why they are considered “gods”. who put them in that place? are they not just self assigning these titles and using it to justify causing strife? who are they to dictate lives. however he isn’t really sure on any of this

at some point due to these thoughts (and or an action) his friend the star is disposed of, and he is cast out. he is told he will live amongst mortal beings, to witness for himself their vileness and wicked souls.

He is but dust cast to dust

so taking on a more normal form detritus, taking being called dust LITERALLY, now adopts a new form and name. (he’s a silly little guy)

he meets a few mortals (ahem ahem you can guess who) (i’ll expand later if this interests anyone)

he is lucky for this, as he has no idea how their lives work and would just end up with someone sending him to a lab to be dissected for his “inhuman” um, abilities.

instead of learning of mortals wickedness, he only experiences kindness. he’s a bit curious, he tends to take things literally, but if you say something that is opposing to what he’s been taught, he will assume it’s sarcasm.

he’s quite funny but he has a weird sense of humor.

he’s under the impression that he’s fated to destroy any relationship he might have and thus feels guilty for making ties. he also expects to be taken home eventually

(honestly. they just wanted to get rid of him. don’t tell him that.)

Detritus, now Dust, doesn’t really have a solid form, so the one he takes on isn’t really as restrictive as you’d think. His body could contort like some demon from hell out of nowhere and then be completely normal the next second. he has to be told not to do this.

When he first took on said form, he couldn’t figure out how the fuck to form hands. his hands were very deformed and gross looking so he hid them. one of the first mortals he meets is in for a horrific experience until he figures out how to properly project how a hand moves😭

um. oh also, i keep saying he, but they’re semi genderless and wouldn’t bat an eye if you called him literally anything else. i don’t think detritus really understands gender, just things

he’s very thoughtful about inner workings of the universe but then doesn’t know what the fuck a comb is and continuously throws his new friend for a loop

he’s kind of skittish, like a cat that wants to dip its toes into the water and then immediately runs and hides but. will do it again five minutes later.

he’d probably think a butterfly is like an angel to be worshipped if he saw one

he doesn’t think mortals are evil, he compares them to his experience with the star.

he’s not immortal either, he’s more of a demi god then anything

he begins to wonder if he even wants to go home, or if it is his home, after a while of living with these new companions around. there’s definitely going to be some runs in with government authorities and cryptid hunters :))

ANDDD all of this is subject to change if i actually clean this up, as i sped typed this with very little thought beforehand ok BYEEE anyone can ask questions if you have any somehow and i’ll bs more lore 😭

Uhhhh he’s the leader of the MTT gang. Fos is usually stealthy, intimidating and quiet. But, around acquaintances or close friends, he tends to be more flirty, sarcastic, and psychotic. He prefers using guns and dynamite (or any far-range combat weapons).

Like most of his underground he doesn’t have many magic abilities, only able to summon bones so he usually sharpens them and covers them in poison :3

uhhh damnit I didn’t write a lot about him and his world :/

oh also if you want insight on his world Deisel!au takes place in a giant dome built by the humans instead of a magical barrier, which is barricaded with multiple large walls on the outside.
