On the topic of Raphael and him "being bad in bed".

Okay I'm only ever going to talk about this at length once and then never again. I've been avoiding talking about it until now because bringing it up always just seems to keep this topic in circles and it becomes an endless pit of nothing.

First of all, I know most of the time (like maybe 70% of the time) it's for the lolz. I get it. Hell, Raphael fans will be the FIRST to quip about this.

BUT

For those taking it seriously one way or another... It becomes such old hat VERY fast.

Those who use it as a jab towards Raphael havers are... Kinda dumb. Because it's like... Okay, and? You act as if somehow negates the entirety of his character somehow just because "HAR HAR HANDSOME DEVIL MAN IS BAD AT SEX" and it's so... vapid and boring? Also it seems a lot of people keep thinking "bad at sex" = JUST that he finishes too fast and nothing else but they seem to forget that the player character came up with that insult on the spot (rather than seeing it as a commentary about his pure selfishness and where it stems from). Haarlep is also a bias source. There's a semblance of resentment from them AND they're a damn incubus. EVERYONE'S terrible in bed in comparison (have you seen Tav? Little shit just lays there like a sack of potatoes during the Haarlep scene). This isn't me saying "Oh it means Raphael is terrific in bed because Haarlep's word cannot be trusted". HELL, no. Quite the opposite, actually. I'm saying "okay... What can I glean from that set of information?"

I feel like this goes for Raphael havers too who have this conversation. I feel like many tend to fall into this trap of odd desparity when they realise that "oh no our magnificent hot man is bad at sex" and somehow treat it as if it's forever a caveat and somehow negates the ENTIRETY of Raphael as a complex character. My first reaction when I got this information during House of Hope was laughing and then going "mmm that's so interesting and adds such a great layer to this already amazing character. Where else can I take this to". In fact, House of Hope as a quest does SO much in adding all these tidbits that make Raphael not just another boring, all knowing, god like, ineffible character. It made me love and appreciate his character even MORE. instead of going in circles and lamenting in how this is somehow "the worst thing ever", I think it's way more fun to explore it and delve into where the root of his narcissism and self esteem issues come from. The dichotomy and complexes of his character. There's SO much to talk about there and yet we're still just stuck on "haha devil man is a bottom and bad in bed" (which is another ridiculous thing btw because people seem to misconstrue bottoms as JUST being submissive. Y'all need to be more open minded 😂).

Apologies if this came off as ranty/condescending maybe. But it's coming from someone who's just minding her own business but have to see a variation of that line CONSTANTLY in the notes/tags on my art/gif posts and as I said... It gets so old REALLY fast. Like please be more imaginative than this, I beg of you. 😭

As much as I want to see flashbacks of all Sophie suffered under Richard, Araminta and others, I also want to see happy moments. Sophie's life was shitty, but no one is miserable 24/7 or happy.

I want to see the maids and footmen chasing her, looking for her all over Penwood house because she's too good at hide and seek.

I want to see the cook making all these chocolate cakes for her and Sophie sitting on the table with her hands covered in cream.

I want to see her governess congratulating her for being so good at math and French.

I want Mrs. Gibbons to read her stories for bedtime.

I want the servants to plan birthday parties for her.

I genuinely believe they did all of these things and more. They loved her, they wanted her to be the daughter of the house. They saved her life!!!!

I would love to see the servants having inappropriate conversations or language and Mr. Rumsey silencing them because Sophie is present and even though Araminta says she's a maid, they need to be mindful of her.

I bet Mrs. Gibbons and the maids tried to help her but Araminta threatened them with unemployment or more work. Eventually, Sophie asked them to let her do the chores because it would only get worse.

I would also love to see her having a friendship with the other maids at Cavender's house. And of course, I want to see her being friends with the servants at Bridgerton house. The way I need her to be friends with Benedict's valet!

I'll probably not get either of these, maybe a tiny scene? I just want the show to make clear that Sophie experienced kindness. Unfortunately, the people in power were the ones who humiliated her. The Bridgertons were the first family in the ton that treated her kindly, but most of the servants had always been good to her.

Of course, I also want drama downstairs. The Bridgerton's butler did not like her in the books, and I bet a couple of maids and footmen refused to serve her when she became Benedict's wife. But for the most part, servants treated her much kinder than the ton.

Blind Date? Chains of Heart Edition

This is for my Chains of Heart buddie-in-confusion @slayerkitty because I had to go back and figure this math problem out:

This is FIN

He was a worker in Ken's shop in Taiwan. He asked for some time off, but he asked Ken to speak to his dad about it because he was too afraid.

This is Fin being shady business

He is the one Ken was looking for in Thailand, and when he found Fin, Ken got strangled for the 18th time.

This is Fin being killed

Nok ended his contract

This is DEEDEE

He was the guy in the very first episode who snuck up on Ken, so Ken choked him. He is going to school in Taiwan but he is from Thailand. He is also the guy who tried to fight the bad guys in the alley, so Ken had to join in, which lead to Lue joining in as well.

This is DeeDee meeting everyone else

Lue went to get noodles from Ken's shop, and DeeDee showed up asking twenty million questions, then Hin and Payu showed up asking twenty million more, so Lue left.

This is DeeDee showing up in Thailand

He showed up with the flowers and Hin and Payu treated him the same way they did in Taiwan because apparently, DeeDee is in love with Ken.

This is TEE

Tee is the one without the hat. Tee is the one who took Ken's unconscious body to the "doctor" after fighting Ken's attacker on the bridge in Taiwan. BUT, the attacker couldn't have been Nok because Nok didn't start threatening Ken until he returned to Thailand (right?), so the other one could have been Fin.

This is Nok. He wears the helmet when he attacks Ken in Thailand or it could be Fin.

One of these might be Lue(?) and one of these is Tee or they could both be Tee (who could be Lue).

They might be the same damn person! But Lue was shot at the party, then Tee appeared to fight Nok.

DeeDee might be Tee. I DON'T KNOW! There are too many Men in Black™ in this damn show!

All MIB keep telling Ken to go back to Taiwan, but the attacks started in Taiwan, so like...

Homies can't win!

#Having a great time btw I've just been chased across a near sea of miasma by stal riders and more! 10/10 nearly died in a high speed chase #Made it out relatively unscathed which is truly amazing lmao #Spoilers ahead: I have had the funniest time doing the great plateau quest chain. Once I sucked it up and made nice with the creepy statue. #He's(?) been alright. Fair trader. Good deals. I've mostly been terrorising kohga in between absolutely failing to craft working vehicles X #His new boss fights are so much easier than the first one lol. Less fun I'll admit but the music is groovy. You can probably make a #Machine and try and dog fight him but with few exceptions the turning circles are decrepit so I just stuck to mild dodging and shooting him #And running over to hit him some more. Kinda bland for a boss fight I'll say. Could have done with a lot more pizazz. It's kohga come on. #Anyway I do feel kinda bad because apparently he's been stuck down there for however many months/years and I AM kinda cheating with the arm #After the first fight he fled to the gerudo mine and the steward very nicely showed me how to get there but never underestimate #My procrastination because I'd already found it by just exploring so I just teleported.
