Day 316: Saturday November 12, 2022 - “Community Gardens”
Getting the chance to watch the Spartans and WealthTrack and being a part of Jane and Dave’s life here in the desert this month has been a real treat, and needing to get out of the house on this warm Saturday afternoon when we were in such a good mood for that MSU Victory, felt like a great idea.  So I got the tour around Green Valley and got to see their community garden which was way far and beyond anything that I imagined.  This was absolutely the coolest garden park Ive ever seen.  Complete with all the park vibes, art studio, and community space that makes this area, and its eclectic group of inhabitants unique. And the Master Gardner and Gratiot County Farmer’s Daughter have the best lot in the place where we worked to cover the snap peas and water all the greens, and shoo away the grasshoppers that have taken a liking to the Kale chips.   It was the best part of the day.  Such an impressive little dent in the universe here at the Park, especially considering the surrounding desert.  They are really a part of something special, allowing them to garden year round!
Song: Calum Scott - Dancing On My Own
Quote: “Ol' man Simon, planted a diamond. Grew hisself a garden the likes of none. Sprouts all growin' comin' up glowin' Fruit of jewels all shinin' in the sun. Colors of the rainbow. See the sun and the rain grow sapphires and rubies on ivory vines, Grapes of jade, just ripenin' in the shade, just ready for the squeezin' into green jade wine. Pure gold corn there, Blowin' in the warm air. Ol' crow nibblin' on the amnythyst seeds. In between the diamonds, Ol' man Simon crawls about pullin' out platinum weeds. Pink pearl berries, all you can carry, put 'em in a bushel and haul 'em into town. Up in the tree there's opal nuts and gold pears- Hurry quick, grab a stick and shake some down. Take a silver tater, emerald tomater, fresh plump coral melons. Hangin' in reach. Ol' man Simon, diggin' in his diamonds, stops and rests and dreams about one... real... peach.” ― Shel Silverstein

DIABOLIK LOVERS Do-S Kyuuketsu VERSUS Ⅲ Vol.5 Shuu VS Yuma [Track 3]
Tumblr media
Original title: 村での過去
Source: Diabolik Lovers VERSUS III Vol. 5 Shuu VS Yuma [CD not owned by me]
Audio: Here
Seiyuu: Toriumi Kousuke & Tatsuhisa Suzuki
Translator’s note: Can you smell that? It’s the scent of childhood trauma. These two just really need to sit down and have a good talk with each other but it’s not working out and I’m just like ‘BOYS NO’. :((  I really hope this won’t be like the Subaru VS Kou CD where the tension/conflict isn’t really solved by the end of the CD. However, knowing Rejet, they love to make things open-ended.

Track 3: His Past in the Village
The two of you arrive at your destination.
Yuma: See? Pretty nice spot, don’t ya think? Don’t ask me how the human and the Demon World are somehow connected, but I’d come here every now and then. Looking at the scenery from up high isn’t too bad every once in a while after all. ...Besides, the forest you can see over there in the back kind of reminds me of the one I was raised at. It was a bare and uneventful place, but to me, it’s the only place I can call my hometown.
You frown.
Yuma: Don’t get the wrong idea. I’m not clingin’ onto my past or anythin’. This place just has fresh air and a nice scenery. There’s good food as well.
You tilt your head to the side.
Yuma: Yeah. There’s apples growin’ over there, right? Also, look up.
You look up in the air.
Yuma: Wild grapes. Up for grabs.
Yuma plucks some grapes.
Yuma: Here, these are for you.
*Nom nom*
Yuma: Mmh! Delicious! We found some good ones!
He turns his head towards you.
Yuma: Yers are...Heh, are you doin’ that out of habit? I mean, you’re supposed to just pop these bad boys in your mouth and bite through the peel, right? Trying to nibble on them from the side looks sloppy and if the juice gets on yer clothes, it’ll leave stains.
You shake your head.
Yuma: Nah, look heーー ...! ...The fuck’s this? His bite marks?
You flinch.
Yuma: Heeh...Guess that’s the only thing he actually has the energy for, huh? Even tho he’s always makin’ that face and actin’ as if everythin’ is a drag...You’re to blame as well tho. Don’t be happily acceptin’ his fangs.
You protest.
Yuma: Then why don’t ya fight back? You could just make a fuss or even bite him and make a run for it, no? ーー Well, guess ya can’t. You’re a Sow who has gotten hooked on the taste of one’s fangs after all.
Yuma suddenly pins her down.
*Thud*
Yuma: Then savor it plenty.
You start to panic.
Yuma: ‘Calm down’, ya say? It’s ‘cause of that attitude ya keep on gettin’ sucked left and right. ...Try raisin’ yer voice and puttin’ up a fight. If ya do, I’ll plunge in my fangs even deeper. Enough to overwrite his marks...
He bites her.
*Sluuuuurp*
Yuma: ーー Hah. ...Throwin’ in the towel already? However, I haven’t had enough just yet. This side’s next...Ya better keep up with me till the very end.
Shuu walks up to them.
Shuu: ...Do you have no shame?
Yuma: ...!? You bastard! Why are you here...!?
Shuu: Why does that matter? How about you stop taking your anger out on a woman so fragile, you could kill her with ease? Don’t you think she’ll die at this rate?
Yuma: Shut up...!!
*Rustle*
Yuma: Whose takin’ out his anger, huh!? Try sayin’ that one more time!
Shuu: ...
Yuma: You’re tryin’ to play the bystander now, huh? When all of this started ‘cause of you!
*Thud*
Shuu: ...!?
Yuma: In that case, I’ll continue where we left off earlier, whether ya like it or not!
He forces Shuu to look at the scenery.
Yuma: Take a look! With those eyes which always leave me puzzled (1), at this scenery!
*Rustle*
Yuma: Ya saw everythin’ that day, didn’t ya!? How the village was swallowed by the fire and burnt to the ground!? How did ya gaze at the black ashes dancin’ in the air amidst the flames!?
Shuu: ...
You try and stop Yuma.
Yuma: Shut up!! I have to ask this to him now!! ーー How do ya feel rememberin’ that day!?
Shuu: T-The fire’s...spreading...
Yuma: Aah!? The fuck!? Speak loud and clear!
Shuu: ...Ugh.
*Rustle*
Shuu slowly stumbles away.
Yuma: Oi! Ya still dare call yerself the guy who inherited that man’s powers like that!?
Shuu: Shut up...
He leaves.
Yuma: Just leave that guy be!
You decide to chase after Shuu regardless.
Yuma: Fuck...Every single one of them...THE FUCK’S THEIR PROBLEM!?
ーー TO BE CONTINUED ーー

anonymous said: You, me, a huge wooden barrel, and lots of grapes needing stomping.
On anon, describe a date that your muse would take mine on and they’ll say if they’d be interested based just off of the description.
Tumblr media
“ Ah!! grape stomping! this may surprise ya’ given how many vineyards were jus’ outside my town growin’ up, but I never actually got ta’ try it, and I’ve always wanted to; so definitely! nothin’ better than gettin’ a bit messy makin’ somethin’ tasty— even if we won’t get t’ taste th’ fruits of our labor fer’ some time.
heheh, guess that means we’ll jus’ have t’ have some other wine for the afternoon. ” if you’re taking notes, she prefers whites or sweet reds.

🌻a flower for ur thoughts🌻 | no longer accepting
i’ve been living in my current apartment for 2 years now n only just started decorating my balcony with a container garden n the like. it’s coming together slow n steady but i love it so much already n i’ve been doing tons of research on plants to grow in pots on my downtime. one of them is a three sisters garden that i already put together- i’m a lil worried abt the beans but the sunflowers and pumpkins are doin great so far! had to sub sunflowers for the corn bc corn unfortunately does not do so well in small numbers. but it works for me, sunflowers are my favorite plant! also found out that apparently hops / grapes / berries aren’t out of the question for growin in pots n with a lil TLC they thrive??? ya girl plans to try it out n if i succeed i’m TOTALLY gonna start making my own craft beers n fruit wines for fun bc i bought a book on it ages ago. it’s just sittin on my coffee table collecting dust atm.

novapark replied to your photoset “My grapevines actually have some grapes!!! I got them as bare roots...”
Awesome!
Thanks! The grapes are pretty big now! I mean, relative to what they were. The largest ones are still only about the size of my fingertip.
Only one of my little cherry tomato plants survived but he’s growin like crazy!

28. What was the last thing that made you laugh?
“Well, let’s see ... I saw Steve slap a cookie out of Danny’s hand. I mean, Danny was bein’ polite, we’d been checkin’ on a report of nuisance burrowing bloatworms that somebody’s been turnin’ loose in people’s gardens, and the old lady what owned the house insisted we have moth bark tea and some cookies she baked.
If you never had moth bark tea, it tastes like ground-up pennies steeped in hot grape soda. And the cookies matched the flavour profile. She wouldn’t tell us what was in em since it was apparently a treasured family recipe.
Anyhow Danny took a cookie for the road when we left -- she insisted, since he’s clearly a growin’ boy -- and I think he would of kept on eating it without thinkin’ if Steve didn’t take that matter into his own hands. And out of Danny’s, heh.”

"Hello...It's me."
-Hello is a phrase used to create the sense of greeting. It's often placed in the situation where someone has to notify someone else of their arrival. °
-Created by philosopher James Hello in 1545 and has a profound meaning in classic literature. In Grapes Of Wrath by John Stienbeck Tom says "Hello. Jesus, you're growin' like a bean!"
Adele had this to say:
"It was just something raw and real to me. The idea that you could notify people to your whereabouts purely by a single word. It's such a romantic idea that I couldn't get enough of. I travelled to the Scottish Highlands to talk to some of the people that used it every day as an intensive study and I think I really found myself."

Mamaw and Papa 2/16/22
Fresh out of the army,
Fresh outta school.
Two sides of the track meet,
A small town in rural North Carolina.
A quiet pocket in the counterculture revolution.
The Beetles, background to their growin’ family.
Generations of some families living on a single street.
Far from town, just a few neighbors around.
Kids raisin’ kids,
More workin’ hands.
Three little mice,
Each with their own motorbike.
Early mornin’ risers,
Coffee and horse-feed.
Off to the lumberyard.
Come Saturday,
All hands on deck.
But not mama, never mama.
Gone from a personal plot to
Bush hoggin’ the pastures,
Plowin’ the fields,
Children trailin’ behind the tractor,
Clearin’ rocks, throwin’ one by one.
Hard workers workin’ hard.
Always more to do,
Can’t be caught still.
Down yonder by the okra,
The one big field of corn.
Picked, harvested, and dried,
A child’s chore.
Fed to the pigs and horses,
The 101 cows.
The big stack of firewood behind the house,
Next to the barn.
Brick by brick, all handmade.
By one humble, stoic man,
With his homemaker wife.
Fixin’ problem horses,
Calmin’ the skittish,
Trainin’ the wild.
But not mama, never mama.
Clumsy or unlucky, the farmer’s wife
Never got along with mother nature.
Come the day He rests.
Dressed in Sunday best.
A classic country church.
Children tucked away,
Always at Sunday school.
Back in the evening,
Wednesday once more,
A weekly occurrence.
Home-cooked dinner waiting every night.
Around a table, all as one.
Pinto beans, cornbread, and cooked cabbage.
Pork chops, potato soup, and a tomato biscuit.
Mama fryin’ some fatback.
Tiptoes on a horse’s bareback,
Little fingertips reachin’ high.
Hidin’ in the woods, a child’s treasure.
The Grapes of the South.
Thick, bronze scuppernongs.
Spicy-sweet and sour-skinned.
Hot bitter pulp but,
Sweeter than the sweetest sweet tea.
Their daddy’s favorite, no ice.
Their home as their world.
Animals as friends,
Friends as animals.
The mile-long dirt driveway,
Don’t be late for the bus.
Small town secrets,
Secret love,
Secret children,
Secret shotgun weddings,
It’s not a secret at all.
A small, southern rural town.
A lifetime journey,
One crazy beginning.
Forever their person to the end.
Never in love,
But loved each other.
For they will be lost,
Without one another.

The boot was on the other foot however, when he showed her his Swiss Army pen-knife Pink macaroons We'll have biscuits marmalade, on a bench near the park Now I’m soft like a marshmallow She's had trouble with that milk and the moon ever since maybe it's a Chocolate cake, big milkshakes Peanut butter sandwiches, English muffins Black-bottomed mushrooms and chicken pot pie Door bells and sleigh bells and schnitzel with noodles Lift me like an olive branch and be my homeward dove Omelette The layers of your onion, your emotional disease just Darth Orange Juice Do you like pancakes? Oh, the ricotta we'll be digesting! Like cooked meats, fruit salad, soil foods, and yolk! You love spiced salmon strudel. Fried egg sandwich, white bread, bottle of HP (White bread, white bread) Bacon, egg and sausage I like cake and scones, ice cream cones You bring the soda And some folks loves ham hocks and some folks loves pork chops and some folks love vegetable soup Spaghetti! He always ate in the Steak Bar. He loved to drive in his Jaguar. Oh strawberry moon She's a sad tomato Eat a bucket of tuna-flavored pudding, then wash it down with a gallon of strawberry Quik Vanilla chocolat Waffles!
