Hugo Ceneviva is a visual artist and a creative retoucher. He is based in San Francisco does freelance work. The word *skate* immediately caught my attention because I want to base my poster on skating and how life happens. I like how he put skaters on top of the word, they are all doing tricks aswell.

I was also influenced by the 2 posters for coffee. The drinks pop out and caught my attention. I like the bright background colour aswell as it really pops out.

O projeto Muito Prazer recebe hoje todo o talento de Hugo Ceneviva, único retoucher brasileiro no time da Apple. Este profissional fantástico conta sua trajetória com o Photoshop, as ferramentas que ama e como consegue inspiração.

Qual a sua história com o Photoshop? Eu sempre fui criativo, maluco e nunca ficava parado. Fiz faculdade de Publicidade e me apaixonei pela ideia de criar as minhas próprias imagens.

Evolui muito estudando demais e após alguns anos consegui meu emprego fora do Brasil. Desde então, venho trabalhando com pós-produção nos Estados Unidos e hoje em dia sou o único retoucher brasileiro no time da Apple.

Nunca ganhei nenhum dinheiro na vida que não fosse com Photoshop, ele faz parte da minha vida e parte da minha história. Sou usuário há mais de 10 anos e não consigo me ver fazendo outra coisa.

Uma curiosidade: fiz o curso do Alê há 15 anos e esse ano vamos dividir o mesmo palco! Até hoje tenho o livro dele guardado comigo. 

Qual sua ferramenta ou técnica preferida? Dodge and Burn! Eu amo porque me permite brincar com luz e sombra para deixar minhas imagens mais “soft” e às vezes corrigir como a luz afeta as minhas imagens. Também amo o Apply Image, pois me permite fazer máscaras super complexas com apenas um clique, e me permite criar moods legais afetando as sombras e meus highlights.

Eu uso essas ferramentas basicamente em todos os meus arquivos, elas estão presentes em todos os meus trabalhos.

Qual a dica que você dá para quem está começando? Descubra se isso é realmente a sua paixão, pois você vai precisar se dedicar muito. Estude fotografia e arte tradicional. Eu sempre me inspiro vendo filmes, séries ou qualquer coisa que tem um visual legal, também amo viajar e ficar perto da natureza para enriquecer a minha biblioteca de ideias.

O que me motiva é sempre pensar que meu próximo trabalho vai ser o meu melhor, sempre busco puxar meu nível e fazer coisas novas e tentar algo diferente. Acredito na diversidade criativa e aplico isso no meu trabalho como retoucher, sempre tentando algo diferente e algo que eu nunca fiz antes, isso me força a usar recursos diferentes e tentar sempre ser criativo.
