Tomarry AU with fake dating but not because of a rebound, no. It's because of the money. Yes, an au with Tom and Harry having a YouTube channel together. A couple YouTube channel. Yep. It's not like they like each other — oh no. It's strictly business. After all, it is a lucrative business deal — and that is true because they do take the dating world of YouTube by storm. (That was the plan anyway; pesky feelings are below me anyways. — Tom Riddle, in the mirror, at 3 am.)

An AU where both of them are roommates and due to shortage of funds decide to open a YouTube channel together. Especially after seeing how Abraxas' beauty blog was so successful, and so was Ron's gaming channel. An AU where they start a prank channel that end up becoming a dating channel because everyone thinks they are dating. And because Tom and Harry don't do anything in half's; they decide to milk it as much as they can. To them it was their best idea to date. Or a decision they would both come to regret. (Like Tom? No way, he is my business partner and Tom would kill him before he ever dated him. — Harry Potter, to himself, monologuing the same thing, for the hundredth time that day.)

Basically an AU where they both end up falling for each other and being in denial while doing YouTube videos as a COUPLE, and freaking out everytime they have to do couple-y stuff.

Solved a REALLY interesting car case today (albeit with a lot of help) and I'm on cloud 9. This is why I'm doing what I'm doing.

#automotive #automotive diagnostics #this was so freaking cool #this brand new charger would not start #would “SKIM out" so everyone just kind of assumed it was an immobilizer issue (which helps defend against a car getting stolen)#But we weren't getting anywhere with that angle and it bugged me that the vehicle wouldn't go tf to sleep with the key off #finally tracked that down to what appears to be a short involving the ignition run circuit internal to the fuse box under the hood #it would keep the BUS awake and interfere with the data “handshake” that happens when you first start a car #wanna know how I know the ignition run circuit is involved?#if we broke the offending circuit by pulling a relay and started the car #then put the relay back in #then keyed the car off #the engine would keep running #it was so freaking cool...! lol #pardon me I am geeking out #shut up selk

wow very cool. as a european i am learning a lot about the us navy and defense and everything from your blog haha! idk if you've answered this before but what made you wanna work in defense?

Russia invading ukraine on my birthday lol. though i was always interested in military history/military fiction even as a kid. that was just the watershed moment for me personally

i don’t want to work IN defense though. I want to write ABOUT defense. still not sure what that looks like exactly for me. move to DC definitely. maybe get a position at one of the twenty trillion trade publications there are around here. Or comms job, govt job, journalism job… not sure. hopefully i will figure it out ! would love to write fiction for a living but im realistic enough to know that’s an oxymoron

(Also, side note, i am very flattered, & i know i say this somewhat often but i feel the need to repeat it every once in a while… please don’t take anything i say on this blog / ESPECIALLY in my writing as fact. i misrepresent stuff and get stuff wrong all the time, sometimes on purpose for story reasons. I try my best but i simply lack experience & worldview and have spent functionally zero time being an Adult or having to deal with Adult topics [still do not know what a 401k is!]. for instance if you even mention the words “security clearance” or “congressional confirmation hearing” in the general vicinity of my fics, the plot, nay, the entire CONCEPT, goes up in flames, as i discuss in this post. i really appreciate this comment don’t get me wrong But there are definitely better/more accurate places to learn about these topics than a 20y.o. A&D intern who is only just beginning their career & is still confused about many of the basics of real life. I have a lot of growing up still left to do & you really don’t have to listen to me)

me when season five airs and The Big Reveals are mike's sexuality and will's love for mike bc mike has always known he's loved will but he hasn't always been comfortable with his sexuality and will has always known what he is but he didn't always know that what he felt for mike was that kind of love until it was already too late and thus the source of his pain has been jealousy + unrequited love

#mike said 'it's not my fault you don't like girls' and 'did you think /i/ would never get a girlfriend?' and joyce said she was so proud of #will's rainbow rocket ship and jonathan told will he'd always love him no matter what and to please talk to him if he needs to and the #party has always heard what people call will and loved him anyway no matter what and will has generally always had people in his corner #to support him that have literally endangered themselves and almost died for him and some people STILLLLLL think that HIS plot is abt #/focused on coming out n being generally accepted for being gay. like we didn't see that his entire s4 plot was abt his feelings for mike #specifically not his feelings for men in general.#UNLIKE MIKE who was fiercely devoted to will from the get-go but suddenly pushed him away n projected his internalized homophobia #and shame bestowed upon him by society onto will who wasn't even fucking talking about THAT thank u very much and who has been #battling being a freak loser (aka himself) vs conforming to what everyone else wants him to be (wearing mommy's clothes; impressing #other people by getting not just a girlfriend but a SUPERHERO girlfriend) and who in the season where he says he doesn't want to be #popular and where the person he looks up to talks abt nonconformity and mentions sodomy in relation 2 dnd etc etc they make HIS plot #focus on how he CAN'T SAY I LOVE YOU TO HIS GIRLFRIEND IN A ROMANTIC CONTEXT until HIS BEST FRIEND confesses his feelings #and it moves him enough to then make him say it to el when his bestie tells him to. like. literally how much more clear does it need 2 be #MIKE is the one that has BEEENNNNN vying for acceptance and self-worth and battling shame #WILL has been the one that has Known what he is and suffered bc he thought mike was that too n obviously felt hurt by mike replacing him #with el n ignoring him altogether aka 'you're destroying everything and for what? so you can swap spit with some stupid girl?'#like am i the weird one or does mike's 3984093 weird projecting statements after s2 vs will being jealous of el not make this super clear #will HAS ALWAYS HAD ppl to accept him n love him for who he is. the party + his family are right there for him to go home to after being #bullied. it's scary and a part of his story yes undoubtedly but it is not The High Point. and mike has always been crazy for will but #that doesn't mean he's accepted it or thinks others will accept it.#but anyway. im normal i did not write an entire essay in the tags bc i am normal

I graduated from college three years ago actually, during the height of covid lmao such a wild time! I did law as an undergraduate degree, got called to the bar after and have been working ever since, but I signed up for this silly exam in hopes of qualifying as a solicitor in the UK, just in case I wanna work there in the future. Initially a move to the UK/UAE was in the cards for me this year in March, but a lot of things happened and I basically decided to switch firms and stay in my home country, and it's probably the best decision I've made lol. By the time I wanted to back out of the exams/postpone taking it, though, it was too late for a full refund, so here I am now -- stressed out of my wits and grappling with my twenty-third existential crisis of the day 😂

As to why I decided to study law -- I could say it's because I want to uphold justice, or because I want to defend my two favourite war criminals (for legal purposes this is fictional and a joke), but in this economy?? 😆 Literature would've been my first choice if there were more opportunities in this STEM-crazy, intensely corporate country, but otherwise law was a decent compromise for me. I do enjoy crafting arguments and diving into research, though, so I must say that I did end up enjoying my degree (even if it felt like hell at some points hahaha).

#katie is rambling 2k22 #so mom is back in the ICU and intubated again #she has some internal bleeding that became very apparent and dangerous #while my brother and I were in the hospital #we left for their quiet time and grabbed something to eat #and came back to mayhem as they were trying to move her #while there was more than a little blood on the bed because the GI docs needed to see #they found one source of bleeding but there’s another one they haven’t sorted yet #but seeing her so freaked out about having to be intubated again was rough #and everyone kept apologizing to us #and I know they were just doing their job and trying to be thoughtful #but it was not helping #also I’m breaking out like really really bad and it’s pissing me off #which is like small fries #but the stress is making me so much more prone to picking #that I am going to turn my entire chin into an open wound #anyway life sucks but I’m chugging along I guess
