“NONE OF YOUR BEESWAX!” I’m really glad Sarah said beeswax instead of business. It’s a such a kid thing. We tend to forget that Sarah is a child as she is always calling out Ed and acting as if she were the older sibling.

I wonder if Eddy is jealous of these switched roles. Sarah, being the younger sibling, treats Ed with the utmost disrespect and Ed just takes it. Eddy is figuring out the roles of siblings. Seeing how Ed is a wonderful older brother and carries out all of Sarah’s requests makes Eddy wonder why his own brother wasn’t like this. Eddy grows attached to Ed. I wonder if this is the reason why he grows jealous upon seeing Ed and Edd hanging out more.

Sarah is ready to face these three infamous girls on her own. The instant she found out that Jimmy was missing she retreated. She didn’t abandon Jimmy like the way she does when entering the trailer park. I wonder if Sarah is guilty over that throughout the movie. Their capturing could have been avoided if she patiently tried to figure out a plan B and avoid going in the trailer park all together.

Sarah’s character is opened up a bit more in the movie. She stands with her fists clenched ready to face the Kanker’s. Although her mother said that she could dominate anybody her size Sarah is terrified. I admire Sarah’s perseverance. Outside of being a selfish person who likes ruining people’s plans, Sarah likes to help others. She’s always bandaging up Jimmy’s wounds and Sarah always makes sure that Ed is cared for.

In the episode where Ed was grounded Sarah actually made sure that he was fed dinner. His mentality also worries her which makes Sarah uneasy. There is more to Sarah then one thinks. Sarah is one of my favorite characters to analyze. I never thought much about her until I began analyzing these episodes.

I really recommend analyzing to everyone is reading this. You never know what you can come up with.

“My Hero.” Jimmy is so happy to see Sarah that he’s crying with tears.

Has Jimmy even cried all since the Kanker’s started terrorizing him?

No. Wow, that’s quite the growth. He cried no matter what.

Sadly Sarah doesn’t last a chance.

Before she can even think to react all three Kanker’s jump her and pin her to the ground.

Jimmy pleads for them not to hurt her. He shouts that Sarah has never done anything to them.

Which brings us to another observation.

Jimmy sided with the Kanker’s in If it Smells Like an Ed. He gave them what they wanted to complete the deal.

Sarah told them who had their prized ship-in-a-bottle in Run For Your Ed.

Their favors never mattered to the girls. They’re not going to give them a free card. The Kanker’s are not looking to make friends.

For the first time Sarah finds that she is defenseless. She can’t fight these girls off her. Actually, I wouldn’t say it’s the first time. They stuffed her in a bag and gagged her in Run For Your Ed. Sarah has known for a while now that her mother’s advice has never worked.

Sarah is given all then attention. Sarah loved it at first. I always get the vibe that Sarah’s mom over loves her. Think about the way Sarah acts. She gets her point across through physical punishment.

Not only is Ed verbally and physiologically abused but it’s implied that he may be physically abused as well. He decided to self punish himself in Cleanliness is Next to Edliness with [A flyswatter or pan?] just for getting the days of the week wrong. There is something not right about that.

What if their mother is bipolar? And their Dad has depression? Their Dad goes off to work but is nothing but a couch potato when he returns home. He does nothing to stop his wife from harming his children. Their mother’s behavior seems off. She does advice Ed not to befriend violent people. Or fight girls. I think she’s playing with his mind because she uses physical punishment. I head canon that she threw a dish against the wall at her husband trying to get her point across.

Sarah is finally given a chance to think about who she is. This journey gives her a chance to get away from her mother for a while. Being 8-9 she hasn’t been given a chance to explore the world. However, Jimmy has. He knows where he is not allowed to go and how to guide the way.

If only we could have seen the rest of their journey unfold. Everyone else is given a scene where they’re struggling in the swamp. The children spent their first night alone in the woods without any adult supervision.

In my novelization fic of Big Picture Show I wrote in a scene where Sarah finally breaks down wondering why she is like this. She needs Ed more then ever as he has never abandoned her no matter what He knows there is more to her.

“So, none of our business, huh?” Lee says sticking out her finger.

Oh, I hope she’s not going to...

[SHLOOOOOK]

As May and Marie hysterically giggle they force Sarah’s head to the side.

No, not the wet willy!

What a relief actually. I thought they were going to do something much worse.

Could this be a moment of growth? As I was pointing out how they back off from the Ed’s they don’t with the kids. They’re playing it safe for the Ed’s sake.

I have always felt that the Ed’s and Kanker’s never see one another until now. The Kanker’s spent the summer waiting for the Ed’s to notice how they’ve matured and come to them.

Sarah is disgusted. Still, she won’t break. You have to admire her tough perseverance.

Jimmy is beside himself that he can’t do anything to help Sarah.

Sarah came to Jimmy in a second from her ballet class. She will do anything to help Jimmy.

The girls harass Sarah further to spill out what they know about the Ed’s.

Does May know that Sarah is Ed’s sister?

The girls have hardly spent anytime getting to know the kids. They don’t even know the boys who they’ve supposedly fallen in love with.

A Fistful of Ed is such an important episode. When it is believed that Edd is a bully who likes hurting people Marie is aghast. She actually looks hurt. Marie believes she may have been wrong about her interpretation of Edd. Anyone can wear a mask. Just like the Kanker’s father’s who must have abandoned them.

Jimmy can’t take anymore and finally tells the girls everything.

Watch the girls reactions once they learn the kids are out to hunt the Eds out of punishment for what they did to them.

Jimmy sobs accusing himself for being a snitch.

A snitch to who? Sarah or the Ed’s?

As I have said everyone really wants to beat up Eddy as he is the most hated out of the three of them.

Sarah looks uncomfortable as Jimmy cries into her shirt. She wishes he could stand up for himself more. And that wish comes true right around this time.

The girls are aghast hearing the kids are after their boyfriends.

Marie: Ain’t nobody beating up on my man, except me!

Okay, heartwarming but what kind of beating is she referring to? The girls are never gentle with the Ed’s. This line can go two ways. Marie would never beat up Edd out of respect. She’s simply warning people that they can’t hurt him.

I feel like this line is more heartwarming in hindsight as she knows how physically weak he is. Marie has witnessed how Edd has always had difficulty standing up for himself. She’d be a perfect bodyguard for Edd if they ever started dating.

“Grab the two squirts, girls,” Lee demands. “We’re gonna need ‘em.”

Oh dear, what could this mean?

Fans, and I, would agree that Sarah and Jimmy deserve this punishment. There was a long period of time where I didn’t like these characters. They got others into trouble and escaped scott free.

It’s time they got their comeuppance. They need to learn what the world is like. That sounds harsh, but Sarah and Jimmy have been living off the advantages from the cartoon world. This is the age kids need to start learning about what the world is all about. Since they don’t have the parents who are teaching them then they can learn the hard way.

In the end Jimmy and Sarah learn a valuable lesson.

Happy (Reddie)

Based on: Love song by The Cure

Richie always trusted Eddie. Richie told Eddie everything from how happy he was to how depressed he has become. Richie was bipolar, but Eddie didn’t care if he was “dangerous” and “unpredictable”. Eddie didn’t care what his mom or the rest of the world said about him and Richie.

One night Eddie came over to Richie’s house at 4:00pm like he always did and didn’t see Richie sitting on his bed listening and dancing to rock songs like Richie always did. Eddie was very curious where Richie was and wondered through his house. Eddie looked through the extremely dirty living room and kitchen which was piled with bug infested bowls and plates. Eddie thought Richie was trying to scare him as a joke. Eddie opened the door to see Richie lying on the cold tile bathroom floor bleeding from his wrist. “RICHIE WHAT THE HELL?!” Eddie was so horrified that he started sobbing next to his true love. “Eds I love you” Richie said in a very light and heartfelt whisper. “We gotta get you to a hospital” Eddie then went to the house phone and dialed 911. “Hey, um” Eddie tried not to have a breakdown right there and then. “Please come here, my best friend is suicidal, just please” Eddie collapsed right there on the filthy kitchen floor.

The ambulance came and Eddie was right beside Richie in the ambulance, Eddie was weeping while Richie was unconscious. They made it to the hospital and Eddie was so anxious his body went numb and everything went blurry and distant. Richie had never gone to the hospital. When he broke his arm, Eddie took care of him. When Richie had deep cuts all along his arm, Eddie disinfected them and put bandages to cover them. Eddie hated when Richie was sick and weak, Richie was never himself when that happens. Eddie eventually call the rest of the losers. “Is he okay?” Bev asked calmly but you could hear the tremble in her voice. “I don’t know” Eddie uttered. “He’s so STUPID! He’s just such an IDIOT” Stan yelled to Eddie. “Stan, s-stop i-it, you need t-to calm down.” Bill said firmly. “NO! He always does this! He hurts himself and plays the victim! It’s his fault and I don’t know why we believe him when he says he can’t control it!” Stan screamed. “I can’t with him any more, I’m out” Stan then stormed out. “I-I’m s-sorry you guys” bill then ran after Stan.

Bev was trying to comfort Eddie and be strong but she couldn’t. She collapsed in Eddies arms. Really Eddie was comforting Bev. Bev and Richie were really close friends. They would hang out by the lake and smoke together, they would listen to some Green Day and scream the words out to the darkness and laugh while look at their reflections on the cold lake.

Mike was coping and looking at the bright side, like how Richie could finally get some help, or be put on meds. Ben didn’t know what to think. He was thinking about the book that he read on depression and also a persons mental health. Ben knew Richie had signs of being bipolar but Ben thought Richie was fine and managing. Ben is now regretting not referring Richie to a doctor or something.

“um Edward Kaspbrak?” A low voice called from the operating room. Eddie then hopped out of his seat and straight to the tall man. “Richard, he’s a trooper. We stitched up his cuts, he was self harming is that correct?” “Yes, um, some days he would wanna do everything…… The next day he would not be able to get out of bed” Eddie said tearing up. “Are you his brother, or a family member?"the doctor said with looking at another patients chart. "No um I’m his significant other” Eddie said hesitantly. The doctor immediately shot him a judgemental look. “Oh, okay, um you can come in but nobody else”

Eddie saw his boyfriend, best friend, and true love lying in a hospital bed. “Im so sorry, Im sorry I didn’t help you, i knew that you weren’t healthy but all I thought about was myself. Richie you’re my soulmate and I’m sorry I did this to you” Eddie began to weep on his knees next to Richie.

Richie only told Eddie he loved him twice. Once was when they went to a school dance and they ditched the rest of the losers and went to the quarry. The second was that night while Richie was on the tile floor. Eddie told Richie he loved him six times already.

Whenever Eddie told Richie, He would just kiss him on his cheek or make out, there was no in between. Richie was never good with words. Eddie knew that but when Richie told Eddie that he loved him he knew he meant it.

“Mr. Kaspbrak?” Then Eddie awoke from his daydream and was back into reality. “Yes?”

“All of Richie cuts were horizontal, not vertical so we were able to stitch them up, if they were vertical, well let’s just say it would end up badly. From my experience, I think he doesn’t want to end his life. But he does want to feel pain, or release it. Im not going to say it’s a cry for help but in a sense it is.” The doctor said with coldness in his eyes like he has dealt with this same situation numerous times.

“I’ll recommend him to a therapist, do you know how to contact his parents or guardians?”

“his dad moved to California with another woman and his mother has been on a drug binge for months now”

“okay, um well he needs professional help and to be on medication”

“who do you recommend”

“well the cheapest is Mrs.Adams”

“How much per hour or whatever?”

“Per hour is about 150 or 200”

“god dammit!” Eddie then looked to Richie

“okay, um how do I contact her?” Eddie asked with confidence in his voice.

When the doctor walked out of the room Eddie gestured for the rest of the losers to come in quickly.

“is he okay?” Bev’s voice cracked and broke like her heart

“they were able to stitch him up, he also recommended a therapist but its like 150 or 200 dollars an hour”

“shit!” Ben yelped

They all stood in amazement because Ben never even cursed, in his head.

Also take in mind 200 dollars in the early 90s is 500 dollars worth now.

“We all have to work full time to get half of that.”

“maybe you guys should think about prostitution” Richie said weakly but with a big grin.

“RICH!” Eddie then ran towards his bed and gave him a big kiss.

“hey Eddie keep it at least TV 14 for the children here” Richie said while he pulled away from the miniature make out session.

Eddie then started blushing profusely.

“are you okay?” Bev walked over to Richie and held his hand. “I mean kinda” Richie kept looking at the stitches along his wrist"

Eddie saw Richie looking at his own wrist like it wasn’t a part of him. Like he didn’t know what happened two hours ago. Eddie then kissed Richie’s hand and was stroking Richies wrist lightly with his thumb. “Hey guys I have to get to the farm, you guys know the curfew"Mike said while putting his hand on Eddies shoulder.

Mike had to be home at 6:00, 7:00 at the latest. Mike was an amazing person, but a lot of stupid 20 year olds didn’t treat him like it. One night he turned up at the farm with a sprained ankle and two black eyes. After that he had a curfew.

Ben was very quiet but had so much potential. He was smart and was a total bookworm. His favorite subject was History because all they did was read and do research. Ben always went home at 6;00, 7:00 the latest, to play some video games, talk to Bev over the phone and then read his favorite novels and just a few comics. Ben would go to bed 10:05 sharp. Ben could be very organized but didn’t have OCD like Eddie and Stan.

Stan loved Richie like a brother. Stan always acted like he hated Richie, but he actually really cared and appreciated him. Stan only shared his true emotions with Bill. Bill knew how much Stan loved Richie and that’s why Bill encourages him to show it but Stan could "never do that to his ego”. Stan had anxiety, so only wanted Richie to be safe but he shows anger instead of love.

Bill loved everyone and accepted everyone but that sometimes makes him blind to harmful things. Bill was the one who brought Richie into the group. Bill was riding his bike with Georgie one day and Henry Bowers stopped them by grabbing Bill by his book bag and threw him off his bike. Richie was leaving his house when his dad punched him because Richie asked for money for food. Richie saw Geoegie running from the scene and ran to help Bill. Richie got two black eyes that day by after that afternoon they were best friends for life.

Bill was always an outcast because of his stutter. Stan was always bullied because of his religion. Richie was always picked on because of his glasses and his friends, he can be a huge geek too. Eddie was beaten because of his fragile figure, his OCD, and because he was gay. Richiewas gay too and Stan and Bill were a couple but most bullies said that Eddie “looked like one”. Ben was punched because of how he’s overweight even though by 17 he lost most of it. Bev was called names because shes a “slut” even though she’s only kissed two boys. Bill which was a summer crush and Ben, her boyfriend. Mike was kicked because of his race. They were all bullied and thought little of themselves but that made them best friends forever.

Richie loved them and everyone loved Richie. Nothing was wrong with him but hes not mentally healthy. I mean none of them were, who is after you battle a demotic clown? But Richie was still fighting Pennywise and he always will.

“what were you dreaming of when you were sleeping?” Eddie asked curiously.

“you” Richie said blushing and grinning

Eddie then shot Bev a look.

“I'ma go get some coffee” Bev then took off getting Eddies message

“yeah what was I doing” Eddie then bit his lip in excitement

“ we went to this carnival, we were happy, and we went on this roller coaster that went around and around. I was laughing and you were screaming” Richie was giggling the whole time he spoke and thought about the look on Eddies face when Richie won a huge teddy bear for him.

Eddie knew he had a good time when Richie was around. He felt at home, and like he was just a little kid again, with his best friend that grew to be his soulmate.

“we were happy and we got cotton candy, and lollipops, we shared one. But then……” Richies face went sour. “We saw a red balloon, and then I saw ….. I saw” Richie then gulped down the saliva in his mouth.

“I know what you saw you don’t need to tell me, Richie, that was dream you’re here with me, and when you’re here with me you’re safe. I won’t let anyone or anything near you okay?”

“Eds?”

“don’t call me that and what?”

“Eddie spaghetti?”

“WHAT?”

“Edward Kaspbrak?”

“ew don’t call me that! And what?”

“I love you” Richie said whispering and then he gave Eddie a kiss on the forehead.

“also answer me this, when did you grow a pair? Where this "Super Eds” come from" Richie said with a huge grin

Even though Eddie was mad at him for making that joke he was glad Richie was acting like himself again. Bev then brought them some coffee. Eddie an expresso, Richie had practically milk and sugar, and Bev had a steaming hot black coffee.

Eddie was happy and Richie was happy. They were all happy
