Hey Inoni, I wanted to ask what happened to bentilais after the crash, since he survived the crash in the legends comics. Do we get to know what happened to him in your fanfic or how he survived? (if he survived in your fanfic)
Bentilais did indeed survive! (I couldn’t imagine changing that) However, it’s not easy to bring up in the context of Sahuldeem. In the original script it DOES get revealed (only to the reader), but I’m honestly still deciding whether to adapt that scene at all or shift things around to make mention of it at a different point. Will cross that bridge when I come to it. 🤔 That said, it would be interesting to explore what happened to Beni in the aftermath of the crash in, say, a short story. We shall seee~

KAISER GREEDY
First Appearance: RWI - The Story #17
Dimension: Heroes of the Cosmos
Allegiance: Evil
Kaiser Greedy is an evil tyrant with one goal: to take over the universe. His next place of conquest was the Valdi System, a solar system with six main planets. Using the Black Orbs created by his scientist Inonis, Greedy forced the leaders of the planets to do his bidding. The Planet Neer prayed for a hero to defeat Kaiser Greedy’s invasion and Dextar Masteria, the Legendary Hero, answered the call. But despite that, Kaiser Greedy captured him as well.
Everything was going well for Kaiser until Ristar went planet to planet undoing his invasion single handedly. No matter what was thrown at him, even Inonis’ numerous inventions, was not stopping the small shooting star. And when Ristar was at his doorstep, Kaiser Greedy invited him in with the intention to defeat him personally. Yet despite his power and access to an Artificial Black Hole he could control, Ristar defeated him.
Defeated, the Machine responsible for creating those Black Holes sucked up Kaiser Greedy and his entire castle and its contents into it. Ristar assumed that would be the last he sees of Greedy, but the Tyrant survived and has begun to plot his revenge. It would be many years until a plan came to him. The Dark Champion summoned him and others to attack the Participants of Royal War Infinite and Kaiser was more than willing to attack Ristar.
But before he could, he was possessed by Dark Matter. He was horrified of being enslaved like the leaders he controlled prior. And luckily for him, the incident ended with him back to his world and free from Dark Matter. But this did not disway Kaiser Greedy from his intentions. After experiencing that, he swore to find this Dark Matter and not only have that power once more, but be the one to control it.
Forms:

Dark Matter Kaiser Greedy - This is Kaiser Dragon possessed by Dark Matter. His own strength and power is multiplied by the dark influence of Dark Matter. But he loses autonomy when he is like this.

Current version ripped from Ristar for the Genesis.
Fun Facts:
Someone tried to debate me thinking Kaiser Greedy was more powerful than he really was. Even tried to say that an article from a gaming website has more authority than a Translated Copy of the Japanese Manual.

Sahuldeem/Kaleesh Q&A #9
Oh boy! Here we go! (questions bold; answers italic) — Do Kaleesh pups drink milk from their mothers or are there differences between humans and Kaleesh? Heh, so I HAD thought of this some time ago in my brainstorming of Kaleesh biology, but decided not to write about it in the story itself. I headcanon Kaleesh as mammal-like reptiles, and when it came to the matter of nursing I looked to modern day monotremes for inspiration and reference. Monotremes do lactate from mammary glands, but don’t have nipples—they just sorta secrete milk onto patches on their fur/skin and the babies lap it up. So, uh. To answer your question, yes and yes.
Does Dalibor know anything about Ronderu´s backstory? How much time did she spend with the pirates anyway? Dalibor never learned as much about Ronderu as Qymaen did, but that’s not to say he knew nothing. And I always imagined she spent a few years pirating. It’s questions like these that cement my desire to someday write a Ronderu-focused fic in the Sahuldeem setting, starting back at Mir-Haz and leading up to the day she met Qymaen. Someday... :’)
Sometimes I remember the name of Grievous’ starfighter and cry Good! Let the tears flow through you!
Will you ever do a tutorial on how you draw Kaleesh? If there’s a significant demand for it, I suppose I could?
i finally got around to reading theough salhudeem, after it being on my to-read list for months haha. oh my gosh i love it so much, its so great to see kaleesh culture actually developed! small question, are we going to get to see grievous and gor interact? i was always sad we never got more elaboration on how grievous saw and treated his pet, i mean, he seemed pretty devastated when gor died... anyway, keep up the amazing work :D!!!! Thank you so much for reading!! All right, now is as good a time as any to make a confession (and maybe this is an unpopular opinion, but ah well): I’ve always thought the idea of Grievous having a pet was pretty hecking silly. In my original script (back when I was plotting Sahuldeem out as a comic), Gor only showed up in one panel during a Clone Wars montage, more as acknowledgement than anything expository. The plan has been to expand a little bit on “so where’d that thing come from and why does he care” in prose, but don’t expect a whole chapter dedicated to the cyborg general bonding with his pet Roggwart on Vassek 3.
I'd be surprised if noone asked you this before, did you intentionally come up with the term Sahuldeem to parallel Saladin? See, I always identified a lot with Grievous as being very Middle East, which comes from both the writers appropriating (as they do a lot) but also from his incredibly deep and poignant story resonating with the colonization the west has done to the middle east for centuries, the cultural anger we have. So I think its dope to give a nod to Saladin, even if its unintentional Thank you for this perspective! The specific parallel of the term was unintentional, I must admit. (I explain a bit about where the name Sahuldeem comes from here.)
Are you able to tell us anymore about Qy's wives? Hm, I can give you names + order of marriage: Zena kal Nitzelka Vykalla san Nisina Kirizal nun Shandana Ninurisa bal Zimah Siduri qam Ushbar Ashme nab Surhlavi Mahulena tir Kizurra Tila sul Khamaji Peshanu saj Anugi Ilona dae Zubaru (something I wrote in my original script when he interacts with one of his wives: “We won’t meet them all or learn their names. They exist on the periphery of what remains of Sahuldeem’s heart at this time...and when perhaps he finds himself caring again, it will be too late to matter.”)
How common is the letter Q in the Kaleesh language? Honestly? It’s rarity is in perfect correlation with how often I forget to use it, lol. Sumerian doesn’t have a ‘q’, and I don’t often remember to swap out a ‘k’ instead. It’s easy enough to handwave it as “oh ‘q’ IS a very rare letter in Kaleesh”. Qy’s just lucky!
Hello. I would just like to say that your work has inspired me so much that I am writing my own fanfiction. It would be a slight rewrite of the clone wars, but Grievous is more like his 2003 interpretation than his 2008 one. I have come to ask if I could borrow some things, like names of characters or places. Once it get the first act done I could send it to you to beta read, if you want. Hell yeah, that’s awesome! I appreciate you checking with me. When it comes to someone using any of my Sahuldeem-specific creations in a fanfic (vs. the official Canon/Legends material that’s already out there), I would prefer if you credit me and/or provide a link to the series on AO3. I’m afraid I can’t commit to beta reading any works—I can barely keep up with my own project(s)!—but am fine with folks linking me to anything they do post if it took inspiration from Sahuldeem. :)
Mentally shrieking because once the banking clan becomes involved, the end is nigh. There may be more yet to come than you expect, but you are correct: this is the beginning of the end.
In the next part of Sahuldeem, will Grievous ever get to appear before the Galatic Senate? (At least before the Clone Wars?)
Tumblr media
;D you might know this already but i feel like telling you that fun fact grievous kills t'chooka d'oon in the 2005 grievous comic (yknow, the one where he captures a bunch of younglings and plans to build them cybernetic bodies, complete with masks like his that he designed himself). do you think he remembered You’d be hard pressed to find something about Grievous that I don’t know! I’m familiar with the comic; had to look it up to figure out what T’chooka D’oon looks like, after all. And yes—I do think he remembered, in spite of everything that happened in the intervening years.

Sahuldeem/Kaleesh Q&A #8
Here we go again... (questions bold; answers italic) — Have you added or changed anything plotwise in Sahuldeem since completing the script? Have you ever woken up in the middle of the night and thought “It’s not too late to throw that in” Oh, hell yeah. All the time. (and I’ve also cut things, as well) The original script covers a LOT but doesn’t go nearly as in-depth as the prose, unsurprisingly, and I have found myself expanding on a lot of scenes because I can get into Qymaen’s head (and others) and explore emotions in greater detail. Probably the biggest example of an incredibly important late addition to the story was Ronderu’s backstory. Wild, I know. I always had a vague idea of what it would involve, and had written a description off to the side for my own knowledge, but in the original script Qymaen never actually found out about her past. I decided the reader would be too interested to NOT find out, and the only way we would learn of it was if Ronderu herself told Qymaen, so I massively expanded that wet lung scene with her opening up to him and am SO glad I did it.
What do you think Grievous is saying when Obi-Wan pries his chestplate open? He has already said it once in the story. He’ll say it at least one more time before we get to the end. Context clues will be there until then, but that final time will be when I translate it. ;)
Did the rank of Baatar ever get mentioned in Sahuldeem? Apparently it's higher than Tarkhan but lower than Khan Oh, yeah, I did include it, but I swapped the hierarchy of Baatar and Tarkhan. It made more sense in my brain for Tarkhan to be closer to Khan.
So as far as clan symbols go, what’s the difference between these sigils?
Tumblr media
Ugh, these symbols. Very confusing. So my understanding has been that the mask and cape are meant to be variations of the same sigil (that of the Jai Clan), even though the art of the Martyr shows yet ANOTHER sigil that I also feel could represent the Jai Clan. Maybe one or more of them are just incredibly stylized? Maybe one is the “standard” sigil and another is the “Chieftain/Khan/Khagan” edition? Take your pick. The arrows, IMO, are more generic Kaleesh markings that can be used by any clan. They likely have a lot of similar motifs and designs across the globe.
My brain just randomly conjured a parallel universe where Grievous was an Ewok instead of a Kaleesh and now I'm imagining Sahuldeem with the exact level of depth and angst but the characters are literal teddy bears Why would you do this to me??? … *files away for later if I ever want to torture anyone with some ridiculous imagery*
So what does a tuugmusme look like exactly? We’ve never really seen a visual depiction of someone wearing it Closer to a facemask/scarf that covers the lower face than to, for instance, a full niqab. Usually patterned, if not decorated. May include clan sigils, but not as prominently as what is painted on kakmusmal.
I have a question or two about the tumu. How big are they? I’ve been thinking of them as about the size of parrots, but considering their radically different body plan they may be way bigger or smaller. Also do they have any uses beyond looking pretty? I have this idea for a trained seabird that the Kaleesh use to find shoals of fish, but I kind of got the vibe that Babbar’s usefulness begins and ends at unsettling people through the power of mimicry. Parrot is a good comparison, actually, and I like to imagine tumu come in as many varied sizes as parrots do. Some could be as large as a macaw, and…well, not sure if any are as tiny as a budgie, but maybe a cockatiel! And they can absolutely be trained to be more useful than Babbar (messenger tumu are a thing), but your assessment of that particular tumu is pretty accurate. x’D
How did you come up with sahuldeem, the word itself? How many words did you try before you found one that sounded right? So a thing I’ve often been doing when I snag Sumerian for Kaleesh is ignoring the “š” (which is a voiceless post alveolar fricative) and just treating it like “s” (a voiceless alveolar fricative that I assume is sibilant)…and this is usually because I like the sound/flow of a word better without the “sh” sound, though not always. In searching for a term closest to “grief”, I found “šà-hul…dím”, which translates to “to grieve” but more literally translates to ‘to make the heart evil’ (I know, right?!?!). Rather than transliterate this to Shahuldim, I went with Sahuldeem (I liked the sound of “sa”, and I wanted to parallel the “ee” in Sheelal). …Tadaaaa!
You ever think about what Grievous would have looked like if he’d lived to the age he did without becoming a cyborg? Well, considering at what age in Sahuldeem he does become a cyborg, I don’t have to think too hard about it. ;P
And then just an extra note:
Two years ago I wrote a silly rap(?) about General Grievous. One year ago I started posting Sahuldeem. Thank you to all the folks who have been following along and reading what is the very definition of a passion project. If you’re enjoying the journey, please do shoot me a message/drop a comment on AO3 (or a kudos if you don’t want to stress over words). Not sure what 2022 will bring on...well, so many fronts, but I hope to at least keep pressing on and posting this story without too many delays on the horizon~

What’s your goofiest headcanon about Grievous? Cyborg or organic.
- @tuberculosis-bot-9000
An actual headcanon, but goofy? Not just silly crack? Uh. Guess the "goofiest" thing I can think of is the fact that I made him prone to motion sickness in my fic. Originally it was just something quirky I decided to include (and heck, they say write what you know, and as a migraine sufferer and as someone who gets motion sickness too easily, I sure know how to write about it). But at the same time, I realized something...
In Labyrinth of Evil, Palpatine (while being kidnapped) complains about Grievous' piloting skills. That's funny enough on its own. In ROTS, Grievous disembarks his shuttle on Utapau in a bloody hurry—which can be explained away as A. he's in a rush to speak with Sidious and/or B. he really doesn't want to deal with the Separatist leaders—but goddamn if it doesn't look like he's speedwalking to the refresher.
And then I thought...hey, wouldn’t it be fun if this was all somehow connected? Back in his organic days, when he was first introduced to starships and flying, he had bad experiences with motion sickness. So he never spent as much time learning to pilot as he should, since, for good reason, he wasn't wild about flying to begin with. Sure, eventually his cybernetic upgrades stabilized everything (better able to keep his balance with those big ol' talons, internal implants improving his equilibrium, etc.), but old habits/aversions die hard. I dunno. Not super goofy, but...eh, it amused me~

Finally managed to finish reading the new chapter, feels like Qymaen is really not okay;(
Somehow convinced myself that kalee will have this sort of plush making technology, so Qymaen can cuddle this large Ronderu plush toy if he's emo during midnight

I had to answer this separately from my usual Q&A cluster because HOLY CRAP THAT RONDERU IS ADORABLE 😍
and man, if only Qymaen's problems could be solved by cuddling a plushie. :'(

Sahuldeem/Kaleesh Q&A #7
Already so many questions after starting Part Three! I’ve done my best to answer them... (questions bold; answers italic)
Sorry if this may be unwelcome, but I stumbled across your account after finally deciding to look up Grievous’s backstory via legends and rushing to find even an ounce of Ronderu content- you have successfully launched me down a pit of absolute insanity and pain because of it. You’re art is so satisfying to stare at and the writing?? So gut wrenchingly well constructed and easy to lose yourself in. Luckily for myself, I’ve managed to drag someone down with me :) Never thought I’d be considering Grievous to be in my top 5 favorite Star Wars characters but HERE WE ARE- Oh no, this sort of message is VERY welcome! :’) Thank you so much, I’m glad to have dragged you into Grievous’ Terrible Horrible No Good Very Bad Backstory and I hope you continue to read and enjoy!
So I have a question…does the story end before the clone wars? I saw an old post you made divided into six segments, the last one of a Bathda tank. Will you continue until his death on utapu? Sahuldeem follows Grievous all the way up until the end of his story. We’ll see that Bacta tank. We’ll see the Clone Wars. We’ll see Utapau. However, the events that we’ve already watched/read about in both Canon and Legends materials (i.e. the Clone Wars shows, Labyrinth of Evil, ROTS, etc.) are not going to be…y’know…recreated in their bloody entirety for my fic. Expect some montage-like treatment of certain events. Unsurprisingly, I want to focus on the stuff we didn’t get to see.
What’s a tuudbaraa? Stay tuned for Chapter 4 of Part Three - Sahuldeem.
Since you said you had another pronounciation in mind for Grievous' real name, I'm kinda curious. I would've pronounced both "Qymaen" and "Sheelal" exactly the same as in the Lego Halloween thingie (still confused about "jai" sounding like "hai" tho). Would love to hear your thoughts! You can find the answer to that here.
Enough discourse on the pronunciation of Qymaen jai Sheelal— how do you pronounce Bentilais san Sk'ar? Do you pronounce it ben-TIL-ay-iss? BEN-ti-lace? ben-ti-LIE-iss? (Or like French— ben-ti-LAY?) Do you put an audible glottal stop in Sk'ar? There's literally no source on this, what's your take ben-tih-LAY-iss, and despite my laughable attempts to enunciate the glottal stop in Sk’ar, I like to think it’s there.
I have to ask; what do you think the predators of Kalee looked like? I know mumuus and karabbacs were probably impressive if their skulls were made into masks, but it seems like their heads were on the small side? I know it’s not the size that matters but I just want to know more about them just from the way you draw everyone’s masks. I’ve talked a little bit about Kaleesh creatures and kakmusmal, but perhaps one thing I’ve never made clear is that I imagine the Kaleesh, in taking the skull of a mumuu/karabbac/etc. to make into a bonemask, are not usually just picking up the whole skull and making minimal modifications before slapping it on. They carve and shape them considerably to suit Kaleesh faces. Qymaen’s mask is just a portion of the mumuu’s skull; it’s a big honkin’ animal. Other masks incorporate tusks/horns of the original animal, but often they have to be reattached after the masks have been personalized. But yeah…that’s just how I’ve pictured it working.
Did Ronderu have a dream about meeting Qymaen? I mean she was in the Kunbal tu hunt a mumuu and she met him ... with a mumuu mask. Was it a coincindence that she was hunting right there at the right time or did she dream something too? She was simply where she was at the time. Qymaen was the one whose symbolic and prophetic dream led him to go seek her out.
Hey Inoni, will you include the Izvoshra member which belonged to the same race of hunters as Ronderu? Love your design of Bentilais and Levantis btw. Well…assuming we’re looking at the same source, here…let’s just say that while you focus on “same race of hunters as Ronderu” I focus more on “shipwrecked on Grendaju”. ;P …Anyway, stay tuned for Chapter 3 of Part Three - Sahuldeem. ....Oh shit that’s soon. Dalibor lig Nemur's got an interesting name. I wonder how much of it was intentional— Obviously, lig harkens back to the Lig sword, which we know is named after the tribe known for crafting them; Dalibor is a Slavic name meaning "to fight far away" which, if intentional, suggests he's as handy with a cannon as he is with a sword; is Nemur a reference to Captain Nemo? I don’t think I put as much thought into his name as you did within this ask! I wanted to give someone the background of being from the Lig Clan, and I like picking out the occasional Slavic name (honestly just enjoyed the sound of it) alongside the usual Sumerian (Nemur = glowing coals/fire, a more ambiguous earned name than most, but evocative IMO).
Did you take SWTOR into consideration while developing Sahuldeem? If so, how does it fit with your timeline of Kalee’s development? I’ve never played SWTOR and have only read about it, but I don’t believe there’s information in the game that would contradict anything that would be included in Kalee’s Wookieepedia. I believe the only reference I’ve specifically made is when Ronderu meets her first human and reflects that she’s heard stories of them “from the ancient legends of the Galactic War” (and more recently the Bitthævrian conflict). Anyway, hmm. I guess it’s my understanding that this was such a long time ago that current Kaleesh would feel quite distanced from the events of SWTOR. From the sound of it, Kaleesh were enslaved and taken offworld for a period of time, and probably continued to be taken for generations, but, with Kalee being on the edge of Wild Space, this wasn’t happening in huge numbers or frequently enough for the galaxy at large to keep tabs on their planet and species. You’d get the odd band of slavers or curious traders who’d stop by over the next few thousand years, but, looking at the map, you would really need to go out of your way to get there (I talk a bit more about hyperspace lanes in the fic soon). Meanwhile, Kalee was a pretty volatile place in terms of intertribal conflict and the conquering of clans, so while many ancestors were revered and remembered, other details were violently scrubbed from their own history. Things drifted into stories and legend. So the Kaleesh kept living in their relatively intact, isolated bubble with minimal outside contact for centuries, only to have it burst pretty dramatically by first the Galactic Republic during the Bitthævrian conflict (who were probably like, “Oh, ok, HERE’S Kalee, can someone mark it on this star chart before we forget it again?”), and then of course by the invading Huk (who were going out of their way to find planets to conquer). Does...does that all make sense? Egh. x_x I’m sure there’s much more to consider; I’m fairly content leaving it at that and focusing on Qymaen’s era.
What happened to Ronderu´s cloak and her Lig swords? Did Qy keep them or were they burned and used for a ceremony? This will be directly addressed in the story. I’d say “stay tuned for [chapter]”, but in the original script this isn’t brought up until Part Five. We’ll see if I push it earlier.
Honestly though I’d love to recommend Sahuldeem to someone who knows absolutely nothing about Grievous’ backstory and not tell them it’s a fanfic so they’re like eight chapters in and they go “Wait this is Star Wars” and then several chapters later they’re like “QYMAEN IS GENERAL GRIEVOUS?????” I, too, would love to somehow see this happen! xD

Sahuldeem/Kaleesh Q&A #6
Holy shit, a backlog of asks to address! Let’s DO it! (questions bold; answers italic) — I love all your Kaleesh stuff so much aaaaaa. Have you ever played Star Wars the Old Republic? Thoughts on Xalek? Thank you! I’ve never actually played it, but I’ve watched clips of Xalek interactions and he seems like a swell fellow, all [Sith] things considered. Curious if anyone’s written in-depth about him, fanfic or otherwise! More Kaleesh content, please and thank you. <3
Who’s your favorite original character from Sahuldeem? Ooooh, that’s a doozy. Hmm. Can’t pick just one. In terms of characters y’all have met so far in the story, I’d say Jindra is a personal favorite, if partially for the fact that she’s one of the most-developed. There’s another enjoyable minor Kaleesh original character who will arrive in the next part. We have quite a while before we meet my favorite original character overall, who we will not see until Part SIX of Sahuldeem (and who plays a rather important role for such a late showing). And then, yeah, okay, not an ORIGINAL character, but I think my absolute favorite character to write for is the insufferably snarky sassy smugness that is Chairman San Hill of the InterGalactic Banking Clan. God I want to punch him so badly. He’s great. Can’t wait for him to show up.
I noticed Sahuldeem hasn't dropped the name Qymaen just yet... Does he ever formally forsake it, or does it just get to the point where he doesn't have anyone to be on a first-name basis with and his forename just... fades into irrelevance? Short answer? No. Long answer? No, and also sort of yes, but not really, because it’s sad and complicated and you’ll just have to wait and see.
So, Huk is also the home planet of the Yam’rii. How did the Kaleesh even hear the word, much less come to associate it with the Yam’rii themselves, to the point it means soulless insect? Oh, boy. Yes. Exactly. It is the most ridiculous part of Kaleesh/Yam’rii “established canon” and something I almost immediately said “yeah no” to; it’s one the few flat-out changes I made for this fic. Within the universe of Sahuldeem, “Huk” is purely a Kaleesh word meaning “soulless bug” and NOT the name of the Yam’rii home planet (which I haven’t referred to by name in the story, but might as well simply be “Yam’rii”). And that’s it. Otherwise you’d have to assume that somehow Huk is a word both in Yam’rii and Kaleesh and just happens to mean what it means in Kaleesh and—yeah, no, that’s nonsensical. I don’t care. No. Bad.
Is fashioning kakmusmal from the skulls of other Kaleesh unheard of? I’m sure it’s taboo, but has anyone ever crossed that line? Way, WAY back in the day such things were done (like prehistorically speaking, before certain theological practices were finessed and upheld), but at least for the past few thousand years, yes, calling it “taboo” would be accurate. That’s not to say it HASN’T been done recently, but such a person would be considered a sociopathic monster.
Something something, Ronderu is taller than Qymaen, something something, I wonder how often Grievous thinks about how that wouldn’t be true anymore You assume Grievous thinks about such things post-crash…
Were any Force-sensitive Kaleesh discovered by the Jedi during the Bitthævrian War? Personally, I think that the relatively small number of Kaleesh that the Jedi would have encountered/exploited during the Bitthævrian War would mean that the sample size simply wouldn’t be enough to include a Force-sensitive individual, since such a thing IS pretty rare on Kalee. But that would be a heck of a fanfic. ;)
We know Shahulla was taken alive— is it possible she’s survived this long? Certainly possible. But I can confirm she’s out of the picture.
How did you go about designing your (iconic!) versions of Qymaen and Ronderu, since they differ visually slightly from the only canon images we have? I don’t think I changed them TOO much, but, uh, thank you for thinking of them as iconic! I took cues from the official Kaleesh art out there + the only art of Ronderu we have + various concept art of Qymaen, made my own lazy shortcuts when it came to costume design (since I was thinking this might end up being a comic, aka, oh-god-simplify-this-shit), and picked out some clear key colors for each of them (bluish-grey + red for Ronderu, gold/beige/brown for Qymaen). Ah, and I think I mentioned before that I was just looking to design something “different” than what we saw in concept art when it came to Qy’s hair. Still probably my favorite part about drawing him!
Tumblr media
(oops, made myself sad)
When is Part Three coming? Haha, joke’s on YOU, no one actually asked me this!! …I’m still answering. Part Three is the hardest part to write (it was also originally the hardest part to script), and I’m STILL struggling to get past the more challenging aspects (between staging space battles and the overall more grim tone). I’ve got a schedule drafted up to see how long it will take to post what I have already written, and…though part of me is worried I’ll catch up to myself too quickly, even with a biweekly posting schedule, I also recognize that giving myself deadlines is going to help me push forward instead of wallowing in the uncertainty of some of these chapters. So, ASSUMING I can haul myself out of this rut, it’s possible I may start posting by the end of the month. And possibly no longer on Friday. Stay tuned and thanks for your patience. Hopefully it will be worth the wait~

Been wanting to ask this question for a long time, it doesn't exactly have to do with Sahuldeem but just wanted to ask anyway. The 2003 Grievous had a very unique way of fighting that involved him holding his lightsabers with his articulated toes, because the kaleesh are similar to his cyborg leg design makes me wonder if they can fight like that to, I even saw fanart of Ronderu holding a log sword with her foot. What do you think?
Well, you inspired these contemplative doodles!
Tumblr media
I sure do prefer digitigrade Kaleesh vs plantigrade, but using my interpretation of their feetsies, I think it might be a bit tricky for Kaleesh to actually grasp things with their toes. It sure does seem like an ~upgrade~ for Grievous. :P

It’s safe to say that my interest in Ancient Egypt/Egyptian mythology is not something that I could ever be “done with”. It’s simply not my muse nor creative outlet at the moment. If you’re asking whether or not I ever intend to post more Stick-Gods: sure, if I get another good idea for a comic. That just hasn’t happened for a while, and I’m not going to force it.

Prediction—Khagan Sahuldeem will be mistranslated into General Grievous (it’s been hinted already that Khan doesn’t have a direct translation and could mean General). At the very least he gets the name Grievous due to an error in translation of Sahuldeem
I mean, not too much of a logic leap, and you're close! It's not an EXACT translation, but I wouldn't quite call it a mistranslation, either. I'm finally getting around to writing up that little post about the name "Sahuldeem" and how it's kinda responsible for the fic existing, so you'll see more about it soon. (and eventually in the fic itself there will be more explained about the name and its meaning and all that jazz, but let's hold off on too many spoilers just yet)
