1999 Toyota Supra A80 JGTC
@mark_scenemedia
How does an old, awesome race car end up as the world’s fastest and most expensive flowerbed? Well, because nobody else wanted it. Which, considering it was relatively successful (finishing 14th overall in its final season, but also on the podium at Fuji Speedway) is a bit bonkers.
What you're looking at is the 1999 Toyota Supra #38 Cerumo FK/Massimo JGTC car that was driven by Yuji Tachikawa and Hironori Takeuchi. Not some half-arsed marketing buck, either, but the actual car that raced, complete with all its mechanical bits intact, apart from the transmission.
After the 1999 season there was a sponsorship change within the race team, so the main sponsor wanted to get rid of the car. But no one wanted it; it was too complex to run, too expensive. So the owners of the shop where it lives now managed to bag it for free and use it as an eye-catching momento outside the office.
It’s been sat in the same spot for the last 15 years. So long in fact, they can’t actually remember exactly how long it’s been there. But long enough for the paint to fade and crack, tyres to deflate and for the rust to set in and turn the motorsport parts a nice shade of sad, neglected brown.
As you can imagine, over the years they've been approached multiple times by people (from all around the world) wanting to buy it. Some have even offered heinous amounts of money. But they will never sell it. No matter how bad its increasingly decrepit condition gets, it's got tremendous sentimental value and drums up attention in a way a giant inflatable man or Freelander parked on some rockery simply can't. But will they ever restore it? Well, it's always been on their to-do list but they've never got round to.

Hey there! I've been meaning to ask this but how are the rest of toon gang doing??? I noticed we haven't seen them in awhile. Do they realized that Ms.Blythe has been kidnapped by Julius and they're trying to look for her??? Or are they still at that party??? Or did they perhaps just gotten way too drunk/high from that party to realize that she's missing??? Sorry if this is way to many questions. Feel free to ignore this if it's too overwhelming. On another note I really love your art by the way. I just just love how you made each character pretty buffy and handsome. I think that's a very unique take when it comes to drawing these crazy, zany, wacky, silly, but adorkable characters. It just makes them look all the more charming and incredibly handsome. Kinda like actual men from the 20s/30s. I always swoon a bit whenever I see a drawing from your blog regarding any of the toon guys. And of course Ms.Blythe is absolutely beautiful and a great character too. Anyway, great job on your blog and art. Looking forward to what we'll see on here next. No rush tho take your time. And I hope you have a great rest of your April. Spring is finally here!!!!! ☺️👍💞🌻🌼🌸
ooOH OH UH
So, Blythe from BTP AU (@beyondthepaper) and Blythe from JTCC AU (@juliusthecartooncat) are two COMPLETELY DIFFERENT BLYTHES! I kind of always wanted my general OC Blythe to be in her own universe rather than a crossover one, hence one of the reason why I made JTCC. The BTP version of her is kind of dead to me soooo,, (not to mention the BTP blog is kind of dead itself-)
And also, I’m super happy you like all the dudes designs! I honestly look back at them and kind of cringe at how,,, b i g,,, they a re,, but I’m glad someone enjoys them! ahressrhtsrjt
Thank you so so much for all the sweet compliments and thanks for taking the time to shoot me an ask! Have a great rest of your April too!💕🎀💖🤗

Godzilla taking the wheel in the Nissan Skyline GT-R.
I remember drawing it a few months ago, since I actually heard the Nissan Skyline GT-R was nicknamed "Godzilla", due to its success in the Australian touring car racing and the JTCC, which were dominated by the R32 model. I could have give him a R32 model with the JTCC-inspired kit, but I did gave him an R34 model instead.

N1
Currently, the N1 is the closest racing car to a production car. As long as parts such as the suspension are allowed to be replaced, the engine can basically be considered normal. Therefore, running costs are low, making it ideal for beginners.
JTCC
JTCC vehicles, called super touring cars, have regulations that are closest to N2, but their main feature is that they are limited to 2-liter 4-door sedans. There is a wide degree of freedom in modifying the contents, and engines can be replaced as long as they are from the same manufacturer, and displacement can also be increased or decreased. The installation of over fenders is prohibited, but since last year front and rear aero parts have been allowed.
GT
This year's main race, GT, currently has strict limits on restrictor diameter and minimum weight among all races using production cars, but it is the race with the most flexibility in modification. The only prohibition is to compete in a four-door sedan. Because aero parts can be installed freely, it can be said to be a racing car that is the complete opposite of a JTCC vehicle.
