[Image ID: A digital drawing of Georgie Barker and Melanie King from The Magnus Archives dancing together in front of a light blue background. It is using line art from @sarcasticscribbles #tmaeyeball series.
Georgie is a black woman with blue streaked black coily hair tied back with a satin scarf so that her bangs hang over her forehead. She has a large blue circular earring and a septum piercing. She is wearing dark blue eyeshadow, a bright blue satin jumpsuit outfit which is sleeveless and has a pinstriped top with a large black belt. She is also wearing a chain necklace with a butterfly pendant.
Melanie is a Japanese woman with blue streaked black straight hair which is tied up in an odango style (small side buns with bangs loose). She has a helix, an orbital, and a lobe earring, and is wearing light blue eyeshadow. She is wearing a blue-grey pinstriped suit top, a blue tie, and black slacks.
They are standing semi-profile facing each other with Melanie's head on Georgie's right shoulder, and Melanie's right hand at Georgie's waist and her left hand on Georgie's shoulder. Georgie's cheek is resting on top of Melanie's head with her left hand holding Melanie's left wrist. They both have a happy soft smile. /End ID]
Okay, im back on the work train with these as i have a bit of free time now. Enjoyed working with these two as blue is one of my favorite pallets to work with.

What was your Coachella of 2016?
Basically the outfits you wore throughout the years (doesn’t matter if we only see them once) and rate them and why you wore them?!
thank you for elaborating because i have 0 idea what coachella is
i cant be bothered to find an individual picture for all of these so heres a reference and i'll just talk about them in order
Tumblr media
kiddo fit : was comfy and matched my brother, 6/10. could be more individual and fun, but was sentimental.
new graduate fit: still comfy, unique colour for the uchiha. i think i chose that shade of blue because it made a statement without being....garish. i wanted to separate myself from my brother. short-sleeves because i run pretty hot. 7/10, still basic but more individual.
genin fit: iconic. form, style, and function, as i mentioned in a different ask, the leg and arm warmers worked to hide ninja tools like my strings. 10/10, i think when most people think of me they think of this.
chunin exam fit: this one was a functional outfit. i spent pretty much all that time training in the middle of nowhere with a technique that was dangerous and painful. the bandages and the braces are to help stabilize my arms for the chidori without being a fire hazard like the arm and leg warmers would've been. i also had a lot of burns and sprains that i needed to treat while still training. 5/10, at least it's useful but i'm not proud of the fact that i chose a romper because rock lee wore a jumpsuit.
otogakure fit: another iconic fit. this is actually a combination of function and a fashion statement. the hakama was open because i didnt want to buy new clothes every time i used my curse mark. the obi and the blue cloth help me carry kusanagi while also maintaining the samurai silhouette. to be brief, i represented myself as a samurai because i was single-mindedly dedicated to the honour of my clan. 10/10, perfect.
renegade fit: this is actually my favourite outfit. it was comfortable both in terms of fabric and movement. i like the colours. i think it's attractive and makes me look dangerous. the bandages were necessary but still look cool, and the ones on my forehead make you wonder "is he reclaiming konoha?" 11/10.
akatsuki fit: my hair was a disaster so i kind of wish i had made more use of the hood. at the same time though, i wanted the fear that my face and the akatsuki cloak combined would inspire. 4/10, the only points here really come from the improvement on the cloak. youre welcome obito.
konoha crush pt 2 fit: i...am ambivalent towards this look. it kept me cool and it looked nice. i think the return to the short sleeves was some sort of reclamation of my youth, but it also feels confused and speaks to my mental state. it made me recognizable but still not exactly the same as before. 8/10.
vote 2 fit: i mean...the silhouette changed to something really similar to my brother's clothes under his cloak. the clothes were torn. im glad i wore short sleeves since i ended up losing an arm. 4/10, somehow the result of a lot of effort and no effort at the same time.
from this point on, i didnt actually wear any of these outfits as they are so i'll just comment on what i like and what i actually wore.
10. ronin fit: so i did wear a headband but i wore it under my bangs, but that was because i used a bow often to hunt for food. i think this outfit is ugly and im annoyed at it. 3/10 for the poncho. i did wear a poncho type thing, but i wore it more like the otogakure outfit--folded down around my waist for access to my weapons but easy to pull back over myself for warmth. i wore a long sleeved mesh shirt for compression to help with the phantom pains in my arm, and a shirt and pants that looked like my brother's but in a darker blue. you can imagine something similar to what gaara wore the first time we met him with the asymmetrical visual of a japanese archery uniform. in my mind i was thinking more artemis/ancient greece.
11. interpol fit: i dont hate this but i dont love it. it doesnt really fit for the purposes i wouldve been using it for because it just stands out a lot and looks like a military outfit. 4/10 because it's not ugly, but the form betrays the function. in actuality i wore something similar to the renegade fit, just in more plain colours and a full haori. think a farmer's outfit in tan with black accents and black pants. dark blue haori over everything to keep warm and look plain. i was trying to blend in with civilians.
12. dad fit: i feel like this is something more like what itachi would wear at that age, but i do like it. the cloak seems cumbersome at this point though, i would overheat fast. 7/10. since im nowhere near this age, i'll comment on what i wear these days for missions. it's pretty similar to the renegade fit as well, but the hakama is left fully open and worn more like a vest. in a kendo uniform, you tie up the sleeves but in my case i tie them up to essentially make the hakama sleeveless. i just wear a somewhat loose tank top under that. picture charasuke. on the bottom i wear athletic shorts that i suppose are similar to the ones i wore as a genin but longer and maybe a bit looser. long shin guards and ninja sandals as well, so it looks a bit similar to the bottom of the otogakure era clothing but more kendo than samurai. colours vary but i tend to keep it all black, grey tank top. if im feeling festive then grey shorts, black tank top, blue hakama. i do own an orange tank top thanks to naruto. naruto also made me a necklace with just one pearl on it. it looks both like the full moon but also his sun mark, so it's nice.
around the village i just wear a dark blue haori with sweats and a t-shirt. nothing too interesting because konoha doesnt deserve that from me.

Unoa Freak 1, 2 and 3 [Review]
Summary
The Unoa Freak series is specifically written to celebrate and discuss Unoa dolls. Created in 2003 by Gentaro Araki, founder of Alchemic Labo, they were one of the first BJD available on the market. They are not as popular as they once were but Unoa dolls come in many common sizes, making these books a great resource to this day. The books also contain tutorials on face-ups, manicures, modding, stringing and more.
These books have been created with so much love and creativity, from the beautifully illustrated covers, to the fashion editorial style spreads for the patterns. They are one of my favourites to take off the shelf just to flick through the pages.
The number of patterns varies by book and each one has been created by different artists, so do take a look at the tables below before purchasing.

Pros
Gorgeous cover art with a partially transparent layer
A real must if you love Unoa dolls
The photography is superb
So many patterns for any size of Unoa doll
Includes a few accessories
Tips and tutorials for common doll styling and mods
Cons
Minimal instructions for the patterns, sometimes just a couple of drawings
The patterns in the book don’t work for every size of Unoa doll, usually each pattern is designed for a particular body sculpt (cries in Unoa Zero)
My copy of UF2 had a few pages come loose from the binding - not sure if it's a common problem but something to keep in mind
Tumblr media
Final thoughts
I don’t think I would recommend these as pattern books for beginners, as the patterns are sized so specifically and the instructions are quite minimal, but if you are an experienced sewer I think you will enjoy the variety of styles here. My main reason for recommending these books wouldn't be the patterns though - it's the peek into BJD history that make them special. I think they are a great addition to any bookshelf.

Future Toga: Himiko convinces Izuku and Ochako to include kusari armor (Japanese style chain mail) in their costumes so that nobody else can stab them. After Stain Izuku gets Iida to get the same, as the thing is excellent against blades and could have given him the victory that day (or at least make him hold his own longer).
I'm not sure about kusari but she would definitely make sure they had stab-and-slash-proof costumes before internships.
Stain is bewildered that this child in full body armor had no protection but the kid in the jumpsuit did

Togainu no Chi ARTBOOK & Togainu no Chi Official Visual Fan Book Character Design Comments Translations
Tumblr media
I don’t own the translation, All Credit to the translation belongs to sixclawsdragon a huge thanks to them for translating all this don’t repost without crediting them first.
Togainu no Chi Official Visual Fan Book
Akira
When wearing a jacket and wearing a t-shirt, the tags shine on his chest. The pride of war is carved into Akira.
Kabura Fuchii
We decided on Akira’s name right away. He’s apathetic to himself and others, but that doesn’t mean he has a sour way of talking, so it’s quite difficult to write. From when we started writing, until we were used to the characters, we rewrote lines many times over.
Kana Tatana
Akira is halfway between a boy and a man, and we paid attention to bringing out that unbalanced charm. We gave him a stiff appeal, so a clean impression was important to raise a feeling like guilty pleasure in players. I think we wanted to make a character that’s wholesome but suggests a secret appeal.
Keisuke
Keisuke’s trademark is the blue jumpsuit. His appearance, ravished by line with a weapon in hand, shows a fierce hatred and intent to kill.
Kabura Fuchii
We’re often asked “why did you make it a screwdriver?” and “why did you bring out the intestines?” but we thought it was natural at the time of writing, so I don’t know either (lol). There were also times where I thought “let’s make it a wrench.” Scary, isn’t it.
Kana Tatana
We tried to make Keisuke’s appearance plain, but that being the case, when we used him for broad topics, we came up with situations in story writing, so in a sense he was also a character who used his head. The appearance of his overalls was also designed in the beginning.
Rin
Rin’s clothes were designed to have details that show how well off he is, but when he grows up, he completely changes to a simple outfit.
Kabura Fuchii
We went with the concept of Rin not just being cute until the end. From the beginning, Rin’s settings and personality don’t change much. The tempo of conversation is good, and the tone is casual, so I relaxed and wrote without thinking too much.
Kana Tatana
Rin was, in all aspects, a character I drew without hesitation. Drawing a character with this kind of malice was my favorite, with things like a sharp face, I think I drew in high spirits. I was able to make his appearance five years later my personal hobby (lol).
Motomi
With ruffled hair and stubble, Motomi shows people a good smile. The sharpness of an information broker is hidden by his casual clothes.
Kabura Fuchii
Thinking of older man characters, I have this type as my personal standard. Normally he’s somewhat careless, but he becomes reliable when push comes to shove. It was fun to write lines in an old man style. Things like “oichan” and “omaesan.” (Two examples of an older man speaking style)
Kana Tatana
During the game’s creation, I always drew him with his sleeves rolled up. It was the most Motomi-like, and made his character type prominent. Out of all the characters, I think I was careful to draw him the most loyal by the Japanese system.
Shiki
With cape waving, Shiki’s appearance is full of the dignity befitting a leader. The sword in his hand further emphasizes his sharpened air.
Kabura Fuchii
The line “go wherever you want” on the subway was Shiki’s way of showing his love. Because he noticed that he had become an empty shell, he wanted to free Akira. For Shiki it’s fate, for Akira it’s destiny.
Kana Tatana
Anyway, he’s cool and beautiful! Thinking about it now, it seems like I gave some of my soul drawing him. When I think Shiki, I think lower eyelashes, but while he has the same build as any beautiful character, there’s an infinite sense of discomfort, like this person is above the balance of special, I think.
Nano
He is characteristically blank and expressionless, with his eyes hidden by that deep darkness. Nano is made with a vague, shady appearance.
Kabura Fuchii
The end of the ED was in my mind from the moment we thought of Nano, I wanted to do that kind of ending. I wanted words you couldn’t understand just by hearing them said once, so writing the dialogue took time.
Kana Tatana
I wanted to show emotion with human kindness with just Nano’s smile in the last scene, so I generally drew his sprites and event CGs without eye contact, and with a feeling of tiredness. There’s no extreme difference in color brightness, so I regret that things like publicity materials were difficult to handle.
Togainu no Chi ARTBOOK
Akira
Akira has become aware that he’s in between being a boy and a man. He has a clean impression, so I think it’s good to give off a special feeling of transparency.
Shiki
Shiki was almost done in one try. He changed very little from the first draft.
Keisuke
Keisuke was designed to be opposite to Akira in appearance and facial expressions. He was drawn a little more adult than Akira.
Rin
We paid attention to giving Rin a unisex charm that isn’t female or male. His expressions are like a young man, but he’s a character where we drew an adult side too.
Motomi
Motomi is a character who acts carelessly and feels young again. It was a little like I was flipping a switch when drawing him.
Nano
I put my heart into making Nano a character with a vague impression and sense of transparency, different from Akira.
Arbitro
Arbitro takes you on a cool and a little aesthetic route, or a colorful route, so he was a fairly troubling character. I wanted one character that was different, and the result was him becoming a colorful character. The truth is he’s the same age as Motomi. It’s a mystery of Japan.
Kiriwar
Somehow I can’t explain Kiriwar easily, but I feel like he’s a character pulled from a completely different place. I needed to flip a switch when drawing him. He seems like he’d have a lot of expressions, but he really doesn’t have many.
Gunji
Gunji’s exposed abs and tattoos were troublesome, so he was like a triple handicap character. I don’t know if my hard work paid off, but I’m happy that a lot of people are interested in him.
Emma
I thought of this when drawing Emma’s suit, but I wonder how she takes it off. It must be very difficult when she goes to the bathroom.
Gwen
At the start of development, Gwen was viewed as an attack target. If his sideburns kept lengthening like that, they’d connect with his mustache.
Takeru
The ends of Takeru’s eyebrows split into three strands.
Guide
According to Fuchii, it seems the guide’s name is Viz. An older man with a bare midriff is a Chiral tradition. This is the only thing I won’t give up.
Tomoyuki
The truth is, Tomoyuki has a connection to the Hondou Group.

[ID: A panel from Trigun Maximum. It shows Chronica, an apparently young woman with long, light hair and large, dark eyes, looking up as she sits in some kind of pod. She's holding a Japanese-style teacup, tall and round with no handle, with steam wafting out of it, and is wearing a very sci-fi jumpsuit. Behind her, other people in similar jumpsuits and wearing streamlined helmets are sitting in other pods and looking at holographic screens. Chronica is saying, "...but I do know that these must be the actions of an independent." End ID.]
There she is!!!! It is She!!!! I amobsessed with this woman in a different way than I'm obsessed with most characters because she gives me SO many questions and she refuses a SINGLE fucking answer. How old is she?? How long have Independents been known on Earth?? How many are there?? Has she worked her way up the command structure of this ship, or do Independents get a role that's sort of high in the ranks but slightly to the left, like State Alchemists in Fullmetal Alchemists?? Does she know which plant gave birth to her, and do Independents feel that it's important/matters?? How integrated are they in Earth society?? Is she Japanese and that's why she's sitting like she's having a wee tea ceremony in space, or is she just a weeb???

@bsqvad
It was a relief not to step off the airplane and be confronted by huge video advertisements of her own face. The D.Va brand was everywhere in Busan, from billboards to park benches to the sides of buses. She’d just modeled for Nano Cola and done those TV spots for SBS’ World Cup coverage, and her recent win at Worlds kept her face plastered on the cover of just about every gaming and tech magazine in Korea. Pretty soon, those promotional videos she’d filmed with the military would be coming out too, which would hopefully keep Dae-hyun by her side, rather than pulled off and conscripted.
The other benefit, aside from not cringing around every corner at a 50x size picture of herself, was that people might not recognize her. With a hoodie and a baseball cap, low makeup and no face-pain, Hana wouldn’t consider herself too recognizable. Yeah, it was nice just to walk around the airport, struggling with her many bags until an airline worker offered her a cart, and getting a car without anyone asking for pictures or wondering how she’d pulled off the triple headshot at Worlds.
Eventually, Hana stuffed all her bags in the trunk of the car, thanking everyone for the help as best she could while still pretending not to speak Japanese, just so no one might try to strike up a conversation with her. She just showed her phone with the address on it to the driver, and then sat back in the back seat. With her headphones seated comfortably over her ears, blasting LOONA, she popped the top of a can of Nano and idly wondered how the upcoming meeting with Kodzuken would go.
Originally, the trip to Japan was supposed to be a break - an opportunity to eat junk food and go to arcades and shop for cool retro games. At most, she’d planned a guerilla meetup just in case she felt the need to be D.Va, an opportunity for her Japanese fans to meet her and take pictures or get autographs, and even then, only if she really felt bad about taking time off.
But, the more she thought about it, the more that the idea of being Hana Song for so long, with no breaks, started to sit poorly in her stomach. She could always see if Yuna wanted to stream together, or if Kyung-soo wanted to get publicly demolished in some practice games, but that felt like a waste, so she’d ended up looking into some Japanese streamers who might be interested instead.
She’d heard of Kodzuken before, and thinking about it, his more laid-back style and her sweaty tryhard energy could be a funny contrast that fans might enjoy. A collab request would come off more authentic, too, if she already knew the streamer. Doing something with a VTuber could be fun, too, and maybe push her reach further. Thankfully, he’d seemed excited about the chance to collab, and they’d exchanged a few messages back when she was still in Korea.
As the car pulled up to the address, Hana hopped out with a smile, already working on getting in-character as D.Va. It was easier with her jumpsuit, her gaming headphones, and her face-paint. Putting all of that on was like a powerup to turn ‘Hana Song’ into ‘D.Va,’ but she’d just have to do her best without them for now. Once the driver had helped with her bags, she grinned and handed him over the payment. “Thanks so much for all the help!” Immediately, her smile faltered as she stiffened, remembering that she’d pretended not to speak Japanese. “Uh, thanks again, bye!” Gathering up all her things, she practically bolted over to the house, forcing her perfect D.Va smile back on her lips as she rang the doorbell.

Read these cultural etiquette and insider tips before visiting a rooftop restaurant in Bangkok
Visit a ritzy rooftop bar sukhumvit to soak in the charming skyline. The imagination resembles a scene straight out of a movie. Before you raise your glass to toast the city below it’s good to familiarize yourself with the cultural norms and etiquette. Bangkok may have different tipping practices than your home country. There can be certain dress codes. Let’s uncover the dos and don'ts of navigating these elevated havens of indulgence.
What should I wear to a Bangkok bar?
The sky bars at Bangkok have the vibe of sophistication but the dress code tends to be more relaxed. Smart casual attire is generally acceptable at these place. If you want to enjoy a blissful evening that make sure you avoid beachwear as well as flip-flops. Also arriving at these venues with athletic attire is not a good idea. Go with comfortable clothing but it should look elegant. The idea is to choose an outfit that matches the upscale ambiance of the venue. Ladies can arrive in a chic sundress at a roof top bar. A stylish jumpsuit will do the trick to match the ambiance. Gentlemen can style a collared shirt with trousers to look fab at a roof top venue.
Tumblr media
Is there a specific protocol for ordering and enjoying drinks at a roof top bar?
There is no strict protocol per se to enjoy the art of cocktail culture. But follow some insider tips to enhance your sky bar experience tenfold. Take your time to get familiar with the innovative menu. If you are not sure about the options then ask the bartender for recommendations. They can customize your drink to suit your palate. When it comes to savoring your libation you should sip slowly to savor the flavors. Soak in the panoramic views with each indulgent moment. Drink in moderation as there is no rush to reach the bottom of your glass.
What are the cultural nuances while socializing at a rooftop restaurant in Bangkok?
Cultural sensitivity is paramount for Bangkok's social scene. Sky bars are renowned for their convivial atmosphere but you should respect the cultural norms of the local community. Avoid loud boisterous behavior because it may disrupt the tranquility of the roof top surroundings. When you try to mingle with fellow patrons think about their personal space. Embrace the spirit of camaraderie to make connections in a new city. A dose of cultural awareness as well as respect would tenfold your experience.
Tumblr media
How do tipping practices differ in Bangkok's sky bars?
Tipping is a customary practice in Thailand but the protocol can be different at each establishment. The sky bars here include the service charge in the bill. However, a small tip is always appreciated for exceptional service. You can tip if you wish to show appreciation to the sky bar staff. A gratuity of 15% of the total bill is a general practice but you can add more as per the level of service you receive.
Conclusion
When you are armed with cultural insights and insider tips you can enjoy your sky bar escapade in Bangkok. These venues offer a feast for the senses unlike any other. GLAM ROCK PLATFORMS, BOILER JUMPSUITS, METALLIC MATERIAL AND FULL LINGERIE
Dakota Fanning as Cherie wastes no time to show her ode to glam rock God/Goddess/ other life form David Bowie; by cutting her hair with craft scissors and painting a giant lightning bolt on her face; she lip syncs to "Lady Grinning Soul" at a talent show. Many of the more glammed up 70s style, metallic jackets and on-stage looks came from a film industry costume mecca known as Palace Costumes in Los Angeles.
Tumblr media
Costume designer, Beadle said in an interview that: "there were some things, some moments, that Floria (director) wanted to recreate verbatim, but most were just my interpretation." Stating definitely one of those verbatim recreations was Joan Jett's red leather jumpsuit and Cherie Currie's white lingerie set. Also of equal importance was the shoes: the band is seen numerous times in colossal metallic boots and high heeled thigh highs on stage.
Tumblr media
It was important to get those iconic moments, because nobody was dancing in lingerie at the time, even for an all girl rock band. It was so taboo and the epitome of punk rebellion to wear a full lingerie set on stage. Would they get in trouble? Maybe, but they were playing in Japan, where daring fashion statements and Lolita style was in its inception. Though The Runaways never achieved major success in the States, they were an overseas sensation.
This was even before the next heir to punk was introduced when Debbie Harry and Blondie splashed onto the east coast scene at the famous CBGB club. The Runaways were all teenagers under the thumb of their eccentric and controversial manager Kim Fowley. When Currie posed for a Japanese magazine in skimpy black sets and lingerie in the backyard of her home, the band felt betrayed and defeated that all their hard work would merely be labeled as jail bait sex symbols.
No it wasn't all glam rock; many times you can see tomboy Jett running around in Chuck Taylors, but still in full leather in hot southern California. The girls are often in cutoff denim, graphic tees and all with luxurious manes of hair. The opening scene has Cherie and her sister in their matching 70s post-modern color palettes: brown knee-high socks and wooden platform wedges, struggling to cross the street like wobbly deer trying to hide the fact that Cherie got her period.
