GAHHH I am just now seeing this!! Friend, thank you, truly. Life has taken me away from being immersed in the fandom like I used to be. I'm a mom now to a rambunctious toddler, and I am happy and well! I love my life and where I'm at.

I do sporadically post chapters of my Bean novel, though there are months in between. And everytime I get a comment on any of my fics, my heart still flips with giddyness.

Death Note will always always have a place in my heart, and so will this blog and all of my writing. It's so special to me. All the characters oddly feel like family to me. Preserved right where I left them, even when life goes on. Indeed, #lawmassacre forever!

Thank you for making me smile today... while my two year old hollers from his crib, refusing to nap. 🫠

Just randomly remembered At the Heart of Justice AND ofc I have to reread it now. Also I hope lawliet-imagines is still around and everything is okay with them🤍 That was literally one of the best works I've read and indeed as author stated very close in style to the canonical LAPD book. Like the writing is just so well. It's been several years since I've read it actually...and I still remember their first kiss XD

I wish it was canon dammit. Ray pebbles can go somewhere else(or have a fate like in canon idk). Naomi deserved so much better...another character assassination and men's inability to write women...

The fic that kindled my love for L x Naomi, served as the catalyst for my foray into fandom, and remains, in my humble opinion, the definitive work for this ship…you’re making me nostalgic, anon! :’) @lawliet-imagines did a great job of establishing the atmosphere of a detective novel while also developing the relationship between agent and frog, but without the misogyny that pervades much of Death Note’s canon. 🙏 As far as I’m aware, she’s doing fine—just occupied with responsibilities out in the three-dimensional world.

Kick Rage Pebble to the curb. 😤 If only Naomi had been given a partner with whom she was equally matched and had the chance to achieve her full potential rather than be snuffed out by Ohba and Obata because her intelligence would have halted Light’s schemes in their tracks!

But nonetheless, the spirit of Lawmassacre shall live on! ✊

There are no immediate plans for another L x Naomi Week, but I’d happily support any similar endeavors hosted by other blogs. By nature, rarepair communities tend to be a drop in the vast lake of the overall fandom, but we shine brightly with passion and enthusiasm!

Lawmassacre (L x Naomi) for the ship bingo? (I love them sm)

Hahaha oh no, I'm sorry! I am probably not the one to ask for finding a fellow lawmassacre enthusiast 😓 I've considered it before, and I like both of these characters, but think what I don't love about it is it that it reminds me way too much of when an iconic eccentric/unattached/ambiguously-queer-in-some-way character like L gets matched up in a kinda bland heterosexual arrangement by the writers as a way of "fixing" them and trying to please the crowd or something? Hahaha. Like trying to give Archie comics Jughead a quirky little girlfriend with similar interests to him, you know? And I think L was actually a very annoying dick to Naomi most of the time in that novel 😆 I just never actually want to ship her with any of the main Death Note men, I always feel like she doesn't really deserve that in some way. L is the most fun shipped with characters that deserve to be antagonized a bit more than Naomi probably does, imo

I decided to reread "Another Note: The Los Angeles BB Murder Cases" because why not, 2020 it's ending, let's just do it.

Prepare for a whole paper on why L had a crush on Naomi Misora (and it's canon).

And yes, that is BB and not L on the cover, he doesn't seem sleep deprived and made out of sugar, he seems like an aggressive top. Naomi looks perfect as per usual.

LxNaomi Week Day 3: Domestic/After Hours

The clinking of coffee cups turned L's head from his work.

"Misora? I thought you'd gone to bed."

"I did." Naomi smiled amusedly as she arranged the dishes on a tray. "That was seven hours ago. It's morning, L."

Glancing over towards the drawn shades, L only just then noticed the line of sunlight on the carpet.

"Oh. Well, in that case, are you making--"

"Soufflé pancakes?" Naomi turned her head to grin in his direction. She knew how much he loved the fluffy, jiggly Japanese breakfast cakes.

"Yes, those." A small smile of his own rounded his lips against his thumb, and his own eyes slid over to meet hers with almost a childish glint to them.

"I think I can manage that," Naomi replied, still smiling broadly as she turned her gaze back to the coffee tray she was preparing. "In fact, why don't you come in here? I can show you how they're made."

L hesitated. "...alright," he consented. Stepping off the chair, he shoved his hands into his jeans pockets as his bare feet carried him over to the suite's little kitchen.

Cooking had never been all that interesting to him, despite his love for all manner of baked goods and sweet things. But somehow, with her, he found himself smiling often and genuinely enjoying his first culinary lesson.

At long last, Naomi presented him with a plate of thick, soufflé pancakes, heavily dusted with powered sugar and generously dripping with maple syrup.

"Thank you, Naomi," L expressed sincerely as he accepted the plate in his bony hands. "I am surprised at how much I enjoyed that."

Naomi beamed. Reaching out, she flicked her thumb against his cheek to remove a smudge of flour. "We should do it again sometime."

"We'll see." L hopped up into a chair at the table and picked up a fork with only the tips of his thumb and first finger. "It does seem like a lot of work, though."

At that, Naomi laughed. "Well of course it is! That's what makes it so rewarding!"

"Mmh..." L's mouth was full now. "It was fun, but for my part... perhaps an experience best had only once." He made another satisfied hum as he licked syrup from his fingertip.

Smiling, Naomi shook her head as she plated her own breakfast. That would not be the last time she and L cooked together... she'd see to that.

For now, though, she made no argument. For now, she fully intended to indulge in a plate of pancakes in the company of her favorite sweet tooth.
