A few extra-repetitive photos of my MYou Bettina male, who's my fan-art version of Ken Kaneki. He's a 28cm-ish doll. I took a few shots of him and my BanDai Japanese bath-bombs trading figures. I got the full set of the Naruto Shippuden ones, thankfully that meant getting one Sasuke. Unfortunately, I got doubles of Sakura and Naruto... >_>;;
I also got doubles in the Sanrio versions, and two of those were doubles of the two bags I got from the same set. Luckily for me, it was Kuromi. Lol! I did get the ones I wanted the most from each set (like Pochacco), but doubles of all! It kind of sucks, but that is the nature of trading toys. Which leaves me thinking that I might get more of these bath bombs trading toys, unless they are from licenses I absolutely must get (like based on anime ones, or game ones, which I seriously doubt they'll do).

I repainted my fan-art Ken Kaneki (MYou Bettina male) for the second time. I had enhanced the 1st face up I gave him previously. However, I decided to attempt painting him the way I learned to do 1:6 sculpts, form that one (15 episodes) tutorial I watched. I was impatient however, which I regret to no tomorrow. So, I was able to get most of the pigmented skin texture on there with mostly acrylics. Then I grew impatient, because I was taking too long (it was dumb of me, terribly so!).
I am still super happy with how he looks despite using pastels and ruining the beautiful subtleness I had going on. I did take progress photos, but they ar more awful than these. I am of course heavily disappointed in my hair strokes -- my eyebrows and eyelashes are horrid. However, I am happy with how much more mature he appears, due to the heavy dark brows, so I’ll probably be keeping them for a while (before I start obsessing and repaint him again!).
I need to get a new pointy brush, because I managed to already ruin the one I was using to paint my Sephiroth and Leon 1:6 head sculpts. Bettina has much, much larger eyes, and I was still not able to get not-so-clean, but kind of sharp lines like on Sephy. I wasn’t able to do a better job on Leon either, but he has tinier eyes and they were sculpted way off, so I kind of have to cheat with the way I shade his lower eyelid to make it look like they are a more accurate shape. Leaving me to having to pain the lashes on an area that is hard to do so (and yes, I also suck, so there’s that too!).
Still, I am super happy with my Kaneki fan-art doll so far. I wish he had broader shoulders, and overall, more lean-young-male body proportions, like Kaneki has in the anime. Instead of noodle arms and child-bearing-hips. Besides the proportions, I am in-love with this tiny face! He’s so pretty and has great lips, as he as intended to be female, but can be a very versatile sculpt! (: Now I just need to start making some actual Kaneki inspired clothes and maybe a more accurate wig, as painful as that will be. I was thinking of this wig as his default one, but it makes him look cone-headed. Lol! DX

I ended up not repainting my Myou Bettina male, but instead I “enhanced” his face a bit.  After staring at him in Photoshop for what seemed like years and doing a bunch of mock-ups. I decided that I wanted to try making him look more mature, by just shading him a bit heavy-handed and just add to the gloom. I love that he looks constantly pissed, petulant, somber all the time, but now it’s at another level, and I am really loving it!  I probably make all my dolls look that way, due to my eternal love of angry brows. However, they all work in the end, because of the characters I choose to recreate in doll form.
I am still hoping to improve on my hair strokes one day, but this time I just wanted to add to his face. Instead of repainting him completely. I kind of tried adding two pairs of eyelashes to his tiny eye openings, so I need to fix those. I do enjoy the thick, full-lash-line. That’s what I always hope for with my dolls with applied top lashes. However, these don’t look that nice and one of them looks further messier than the other. Maybe I wouldn’t mind it, if both were about equally messy/clean, but I do mind this level of asymmetry. I had to trim some of the lash hairs, and now I am dreading finding if I ruined his “default” pair, because those were really nice lashes. I hope I didn’t damage those int he processes.
I am happy with the way he looks overall; I can always try repainting him again fully, from zero next time! He is a beautiful doll, I only wish I was more talented (or had steadier hands!), to at least give the sculpt a tiny bit more justice. These turned out granier than ever, I am not sure what went wrong. My cell phone was at full charge, and I had the light blasting right on his face (if I put the light anywhere further, the photos become darkness themselves).  I suck! DX

My failed Ruvik cosplay. I was trying to finish this before Halloween. I have plans for a 1:6 custom doll based on Ruvik, but I keep pushing that back (due to me being a lazy bum, who procrastinates too much!). So I decided, I wanted my tiny, baby-faced Bettina male to cosplay as him for now. I thought what could possibly go wrong? Lol! I am still happy I made the hooded robe and the pants. I am now certain I can make better fitted pants for this tiny guy. And I don’t mind the look of the robe, although I could have done a million times a better job, if I knew what I was doing (pattern making and sewing are things I am not slightly good at!). However, at the very least, they fit well, and I am into the worn and bloody look, these pieces have. Kaneki is a ghoul, after all, so what better than these type/style of clothes for him to wear. I am definitely going to give these some use after this.
I made many mistakes with the full body suit, to mimic the burn scars that Ruvik has, and I did make a mask for him to wear. That unfortunately, turned out insanely absurd -- because I am dumb as heck and didn’t take many issues into consideration, until it was already too late. I was thinking about not sharing these anywhere, but I did take a freaking long-time painting everything, not to spam these anywhere! Lol! DX I Photoshoped the 1st image, but I forgot to remove his eyebrow out, so I just left it there.
Not my best work by any means, but I am hoping that when I do get to making my custom 1:6 Ruvik doll, he will turnout at least half accurate, or at the very least not as half-6ssed as this. (:

So, I hope these don’t go to the dark-side, on this place. This is my Myou Bettina on a male 3-part-toso-body, ball jointed doll. He is a doll, around 28cm in height (I haven’t measured him, yet, but going by Myou’s measurements!). He is going to be my fan-art version of Ken Kaneki. So he should represent a 19-year-old, young man. Not a child. I am posting these to show the body blushing I’ve done on him. I have also made two wigs, the first one in the 1st image is synthetic fiber, the one in the 2nd image is brushed out acrylic yarn.
I’m very happy with him so far. I purchased pale blue eyes for him, because I like blue and Ken is supposed to have either grey or blue eyes depending on the manga or anime version. I wanted him to have small irises eyes, but the ones i got were normal sized. So, he’s wearing the default Myou Bettina’s eyes in these, which are purple. They are lovely eyes, and actually have small iries, unlike the pair I purchased for him. I did purchase a few more pairs from Myou; the ones that are default to Alan, which appear to be blue, and the ones that are default to Reid, which appear to be beige or a tanner-grey.  I have no clue when I’ll be getting those, but hopefully soon.
In some of these images, he is posing holding or next to Ken Elephant Red Wing gashapon shoe figures. I was hoping they would be a touch bigger, but they are so tiny. They might work for flat-foot Barbie, or Azone Pure Nemo, but I haven’t tried them on any of mine yet. They won’t fit on these dudes, but maybe the girls might be able to wear them. I don’t know their foot sizes. The shoes are really nice regardless, but they are sadly too tiny -- which would have been obvious, had I read the measurements from their official website, but I didn’t.  I love this little guy, he is so beautiful. If I am being nitpicky, I wish his shoulders were a cm wider and/or his head smaller. His features are a bit too-baby-faced, but I missed out on SoulDoll  Little Kimmy, a million years ago and it still haunts me at night. Since I saw Alan, I knew I had to have one of these Myou mature tinies, even if I didn’t have anyone to bring to life with him.
However, I feel like he makes a very decent Kaneki (for my purposes), and I will also force him to cosplay as Accelerator and KH Riku. When I stop being a lazy-bum and start sewing stuff for him to wear.(:

I made some black vinyl pants for my mature tiny Myou Bettina on a male body, BJD. I used a pattern meant for Taeyang, because I hate making pants patterns myself. It is a bit too loose at the legs, but fits really well around the waist. I prefer slightly tighter vinyl pants, so I will try again later. He is wearing a top I made for either my MH Invisibilly repaint, or my Triad Toys, Volks hybrid action male doll. I don’t recall now. I know I have lost the pattern, so I can’t even attempt making more.. and I am actually pretty happy with how that shirt turned out. T__T;;
It fits really well on him, so I feel I might try making more shirts in this style for him. I was thinking, or hoping, probably. That it would be easier to make clothes for him because he is tiny, but I kind of forgot I suck at sewing, and considerably worse at creating patterns. Lol! I guess it’s a good thing, he’s so tiny (less waste of fabric). DX
I love how the tinier irises on Alan’s eyes make him look a bit more mature. I just wish he had a face plate instead of a head with a head cap. It makes it hard to position his eyes just right -- it doesn’t help that I have terribly shaky hands, and that his S hook gets in the way. ^-^;; I dread fixing his eyelashes for that same reason. There’s barely any space there, to do much, and I have terrible shaky hands! Even if I remove the head from the body, there’s just so much space in there...

Crappy photos of my progress on my fan-art doll based on Tokyo Ghoul Ken Kaneki. I suck, so these are terrible. I thought about making the mask out of black PVC fabric, since I own heaps of it. It was rough, I failed many times. This is the fourth or fifth attempt at it. I used four-way stretch lycra fabric. I am not sure I am happy with it so far. There’s a lot of texture due to the nature of the fabric. Ken’s mask appears to be rubber or mold formed rubbery plastic of some sort. I don’t recall them explaining what it is, in the anime -- I don’t read maga, so have not a clue if it is stated what the mask is made out of. However, it looks seamless and hyper-shiny and smooth in the anime, apart from the obvious shaped nose and smile lines around the mouth, which appears to also be formed or sculpted to be 3D.
I was super confident that the black vinyl would work, I was already planning on getting a 1mm teeth-sized zipper off Ali. I have no clue why I thought that would be doable at the size or proportions of this doll’s face. DX
The teeth are individual pieces of cut foam, and the “zipper’ is a piece of black vinyl fabric painted metallic silver, then stretched for added texture. I might try again, if I fail to get rid of the fabric’s texture, once I am done sewing a snap on the back and painting and hyper-glossing this thing to h3ll and back. I hope it works. I might have to sculpt the thing, out of clay, and I don’t see that working too well either. I know the front part would look nicer than this, but how would I make it soft on the back without any seams? The sh1t I put myself through, for being stubborn about fan-art dolls, I shouldn’t be attempting to make. Lol! (;

I’m on a drive-by-posting-spree today, it seems! I received (finally, after a million years! lol!), the extra eyes I purchased for my Myou Bettina male BJD (Ken Kaneki-fanart-doll). Plus, the correct “small iris” eyes I originally purchased for him, as well. As can be clearly seen in the crappy comparison eye photo I took, the AC “small” iris eyes are not small iris, and the image they have for their listing of them is quite deceiving by comparison. All the Myou glass eyes have small irises, but the AC ones don’t, not even if you hold your breath and squint really hard. They are average sized iris doll eyes, by far and beyond.
I was hoping Alan’s eyes would be blue, because in some of Myou’s promo photos of him they look blue-ish, however, they appear to be grey in real life. Also, because these are hand-made glass eyes and not mold-made-cookie-cutter-other-type-of-eyes, one of my Alan’s eyes is slightly smaller (the iris part) and a bit warmer grey than the other. The one my Bettina has in his left eye is the cooler grey and the one in the right eye is the warmer (toned), smaller grey. I don’t mind, I was just hoping they would be icier blue, like Alice’s eyes I purchased. Sadly, those are huge-iris (normal, standard, average-doll-iris-sizes!), and not small like I wanted (or they advertised as, the Myou are also 9mm, and the AC ones are 8mm, in case anyone cares).
The Reid ones are also grey, but on the warmer side of grey. Definitely leaning more toward beige, but not as small irised as Alan’s and yet not as large as Bettina’s default eyes. None of these are large iris by any means, just by relation to each other, and definitely small iris compared to AC’s “small” iris eyes.
I’m tempted to get Rod eyes now, because his appear to be a dark blue in Myou’s promos. However, I’m scared they are just another shade of grey.  I don’t believe anyone has him yet, and even if anyone did, I doubt they would bother to tell me his eye color (I asked about Alan’s eye color on DoA once before I settled on getting my Bettina, but I never got a reply ^.^;;.). I kind of also want to get Gina’s eyes because they are so cool looking, but I wouldn’t really have a use for them -- I just like hoarding things. I feel like Vieruodis’ eyes are grey too, and probably have larger irises like Bettina’s. I am keeping Alan’s eyes in my Kaneki for now, I enjoy him looking a bit insane/confused. I might have to switch to Reid’s once I make a ghoul eye for him. I’m a bit disappointed that my Kaneki won’t have blue eyes, but glad Myou’s are tiny iris eyes, even at their largest! Maybe one day they’ll release a mature tiny doll with icy-blue eyes as default, and I can then surely get blue ones for my fan-art version of Kaneki.  (:

I finally received the fiber I was waiting for, to make two more wigs for my fan-art BJD based on Ken Kaneki (Tokyou Ghoul). I was hoping it would be the same, or very similar to the fiber I got a million years ago, that I used to make my fan-art action-doll custom Eren Yeager wigs from, just recently. I got those wefts from Amzn, but the seller is sadly no longer on there. I got these new ones from Ali, and they did turn out to be the same type of fiber (or at least very similar), which (IMHO) is ideal for smaller sized heads, because the strands of fiber are very thin IRL, and not plastic hyper-shiny. Which I appreciate to no tomorrow.  I have no clue what the fiber is, but it is high heat resistant, which is nice too, but I prefer non-heat-resistant fibers because they usually hold hair styles a lot better. However, they are harder to find in thinner strands and not as soft and not hyper-shiny like these. So, I guess I have to give up some benefits of one type of fiber, to get others. These were super inexpensive as well, because the wefts are super horribly made -- which I don’t mind, because I cut them up to make the wig anyway.
I also took photos of his two first wigs I made for him, because I wanted to try to see if I wanted to trim the newer ones shorter. However, I am happy with him having a variety of hair lengths. I usually prefer longer hair on my male dolls, so Ken is definitely a change for me in many ways. I never thought I would love a baby-faced “mature-ish” doll, that happens to be as thin so much. I am usually into “manlier,” more grown-up-looking, more athletic-bodied male dolls. I still wish his head was smaller and/or his shoulders were broader, but I love him a lot, and I feel like it’s going to be a lot of fun turning him into my Kaneki custom fan-art doll, plus he has a super cute face. Which I never really expected me to love, as much as I do (I once again, prefer more-adult looking male dolls).
I accidentally trimmed the bangs on the black wig a bit too short without Kaneki’s “M” shaped bangs, so I’m going to need to add another weft there. Otherwise, I am pretty happy with all these wigs. Now I just need to get the courage to attempt making his battle outfit and mask, and a ghoul eye. If it’s a royal pain in the gut-hole finding 8-9mm eyes with small irises in “average” colors, it’s going to be hell finding some with black sclera and red tiny iris -- I’m going to have to make that one myself for sure. Not looking forward to that, but I am looking forward to figuring out how to tackle making his very intricate and detailed mask! At a tiny size to boot! Lol! He’s wearing a crappy sock sweater I made for him, I want to add buttons to the opening or a zipper, but I know that’s going to be another ordeal (I suck at sewing and buttonholes are a nightmare for me, more so at this scale and sewing zippers has never gone well for me!). It looks so craptastic as it is, however, that I want to actually try this time.  (:
