I am thinking about repainting this tiny, little dude. However, I am trying to figure out if I just want to “improve”, or at least attempt doing a better job. Or, if I want to paint him a bit differently. So, I was looking at old photos I’ve taken of him and found these. I never posted these, because they were in their majority, blurry as the dickens. I took more the day after, and those I did share on a few different places. But these I felt so disappointed with, I just left them be. 

A bit less than a year later, I feel less passionate about how much they suck! Lol! So, I decided to share them! DX These were taking in July 2022, so I had the fan blasting on, while taking them. I feel that might be why some of them are terribly blurry; you can kind of see the wind movement on the sleeves on some of them. The (cell phone’s) camera kept trying to focus on everything but the doll. My fault I know, but I hate, loathe with a passion, summer weather. I am a fan of winter, fall and a don’t mind spring. I absolutely love, love snow and rain! I wish I could have rain and snow all year round! Hate that wildfires are the norm now, thanks to us not giving a rotten peanut about anything but ourselves. >__>;;

I am still thinking about how to tackle his awakened outfit and also trying to make a few more wigs for him (because three are obviously not enough!), but attempting soft loose wavy curls on a tiny wig is a royal pain in the gut hole, no matter which technique I attempt. I might have to give up on that idea, and just give him boring straight hair all the time (which I love on myself, naturally straight hair, because I am lazy and don’t have to bother mainlining it but would love at least one of my tiny dolls with an optional slightly wavy wig).

I also need to get a tiny white zipper for his outfit and figure out what I want to do with his face for sure. I know that I would be okay, if my lashes weren’t crap, but maybe I might try something different! Maybe not the 1:6 action figure painting technique, because he’s based on an anime character and doesn’t need any level of realism. However, I am a bit curious, so who knows...DX

Meant to share this a while ago, but I made a Christmas dress for Etienne back in December, and it looks SO nice. :D

The lower layer of the skirt is made from some absolutely ancient fabric that I'd used most of back in 2017-ish, on one of the first things I made for him. I had exactly enough left for a skirt like that, so I was mostly designing around that piece. The bodice and sleeves are adapted from a purchased pattern, with the middle piece used as an extension because lskjhgs Myoudoll bodies are long.

As a whole, the dress is supposed to have a sort of pseudo-medieval vibe, as is fitting for Etienne. Nowhere near historically accurate, but still reminiscent of that style.

DreamValley Sweet Chirp NS on a MyouDoll NS body, match nearly 100% It's so close that unless you're looking closely, you wont even really notice it. And yes, the little dress is quite on the big side for the little kiddo, but I quite adore it ♥

I want to change the body of one minifee head I have for something that annoys me less than its original one. I have found out the hard way that I just really don't like minifee bodies, but I do like the size of them, because it gives a nice height difference compared to regular msd

There's not a lot of companies that have male dolls of similar height to minifee sadly. There's luts which is said to have a good match, although it's a bit pricier than I'd prefer once you include the 60 dollars shipping. Looongsoul is tempting too but I'm not sure the neck size would work and also, again, price. Doll leaves boys are also short and are in my prices, but I already know the match is pretty bad so I'll have to repaint that head if I go that way...

Oh, well. It'd be an excuse to redo some faceups anyway. I also have one or two other dolls waiting their turn anyway

Had my myoudoll ling wei hold the miniverse make it food to see the scale compared to 1/4 size and I gotta say not too shabby! It can be a touch small but not so much that it can’t be used as a prop for 1/4 dolls.

Since this topic concerns many collectors who want to collect bjds em with more skin tones than "normal", "normal pink", "peach" etc i decided to make this post where I'll link LEGIT bjd companies who straight up offer tan/dark skin tones or sell for less than 40$+ with pictures. I ended up not repainting my Myou Bettina male, but instead I “enhanced” his face a bit.  After staring at him in Photoshop for what seemed like years and doing a bunch of mock-ups. I decided that I wanted to try making him look more mature, by just shading him a bit heavy-handed and just add to the gloom. I love that he looks constantly pissed, petulant, somber all the time, but now it’s at another level, and I am really loving it!  I probably make all my dolls look that way, due to my eternal love of angry brows. However, they all work in the end, because of the characters I choose to recreate in doll form. 

I am still hoping to improve on my hair strokes one day, but this time I just wanted to add to his face. Instead of repainting him completely. I kind of tried adding two pairs of eyelashes to his tiny eye openings, so I need to fix those. I do enjoy the thick, full-lash-line. That’s what I always hope for with my dolls with applied top lashes. However, these don’t look that nice and one of them looks further messier than the other. Maybe I wouldn’t mind it, if both were about equally messy/clean, but I do mind this level of asymmetry. I had to trim some of the lash hairs, and now I am dreading finding if I ruined his “default” pair, because those were really nice lashes. I hope I didn’t damage those int he processes. 

I am happy with the way he looks overall; I can always try repainting him again fully, from zero next time! He is a beautiful doll, I only wish I was more talented (or had steadier hands!), to at least give the sculpt a tiny bit more justice. These turned out granier than ever, I am not sure what went wrong. My cell phone was at full charge, and I had the light blasting right on his face (if I put the light anywhere further, the photos become darkness themselves).  I suck! DX

My 1/6 Impldoll Gela, entirely traded for and currently the only one named. Yeah, you'd think with my writing I'd have the notable ones named, but...nah, apparently not!

My 1/4 girl, a Myoudoll head on a Doll Leaves body. I traded for the head, the body I got in a bundle from Facebook.

And here's what her head and body looked like when they first came in!

My Lesser fakie. Her body is hard to move and I had to do surgery to be able to change her eyes.

And my GOOD fakie! I adore her, actually. You super get what you pay for; the lesser one was about $20, this one was about $80. There's no contest, she's better in every way. And you can pop out her arms and hands!! And change her eyes easily!!!

I made all her jewelry. She actually has some hoops for earrings, but they're hidden by her hair.

And a felt doll of one my OCs (Ju-Anne, the most cinnamon roll bby to exist) that was made by a very sweet person who I offered to trade with, but she did it for free (minus shipping) because she wanted to do dolls in darker skintones.

As for my fashion dolls-- I actually have a few hybrids! Two Catwalk Kitty heads on Monster High bodies and a Novi Star head on a Monster High body.

This is actually the second time I've collected dolls. I wound up giving up my original collection because I was ~~too old~~ for them.

It was a huge mistake, not in the least part because I had like 30+ dolls and most of them were new in box. I also had a ton of clothes and accessories, including some stuff I will never be able to replace. :(

I had made this hybrid myself, and it was a huge pain in the ass. I took an easier route with the newer variant.

Got a wonderful package from Alice’sCollections in the mail today. Didn’t expect to get it any time soon as I had heard MyouDoll having quite the wait, guess I was lucky, idk.

Had wanted that little Reid for the longest time, always putting it off placing an order and waiting just a bit longer. He’s absolutely adorable and the full set is a stunner! And that YO body is just the sweetest little thing, love all the little details and it poses so very well, both dolls do.

The dress, the light in the picture really doesn’t do it any justice, but is it just beautiful! Hope I’ll have a bit of time to take some proper pictures of it soon’ish, really show off all the little details.

Now if you’ll excuse me, I’ll go and just happily look at it all =w= ♥
