Suffering

Iruma sat nervously in his chair across from Murmur-Sensei. Not entirely sure of what to do or say. He had never gone to therapy before.

His anxiety seemed to sky rocket as they sat in silence. No one had ever cared before. Those who did question things usually gave up after a while. Just accepting he had a rotten life.

Iruma had just thought of it as his normal. That things were supposed to be this way. That he had to do so many odd jobs at a young age.

But that wasn't the case. It wasn't normal. He recognized that now. Things were different from before.

He had loved ones and family that truly cared and loved him. He wasn't alone anymore. He had others who defended him, cried for him, and held him.

He wasn't ignored or pushed to the side anymore. His feelings and his opinions mattered. He could say no. Iruma had never had that option before.

So he takes a deep breath and meets the councilors gaze. "Before Grandpa found me and took me in, I wasn't living in a nice place." Murmur-Sensei waits for him to continue.

"I was often overlooked and ignored. The only time my existence was remembered was when someone needed something... mainly for me to make money." The teenager bit his lip.

"Your guardians used you for money?" The question was cautiously asked for clarification. Iruma nodded. "Yes... I had to work a lot from a young age."

"Most of your classmates are just starting their first jobs. How young were you when they decided this for you?" "Umm, right after I took my first steps. If I could walk I could earn money."

The teachers tail twitches, but he says nothing, waiting for the boy to continue. "I... wasn't in school often. Learning and making friends just wasn't as important as making money to my parents."

"What else?" Iruma started to fidget in his seat. "You don't have to say if you don't want to. Just know I am here to listen."

"Well... no one was supposed to know. My parents owed a lot of money to a lot of different people... so they had me camp in the woods to keep me safe. Or at least that's what they said."

Murmur-Sensei looked at the boys depressed aura. "And what did you think about that?" The boy looks up sadly. "I was lonely."

"How do you feel now? Living here?" Iruma smiles blissfully. "I love it here... I'm never pushed aside. Others want to hear my thoughts... and I'm not alone anymore."

Finally we can have purification with Sydney every month. In game! :D

murmur and headcanons: + The censer is referenced from the church style, which are used irl on the Sunday mass. I like the chiming when the pastor using it, though they sound a little bit ear-piercing. (i'm not sure if it is okay to speak the name so specifically) However, most of them are designed in full of carvings beautifully, so I lowered the density of the carving in order to show the mirror effect in purpose. + Sydney and PC will go for the purification ever month. The specialist may feel disappointed of how corrupted has Sydney been and take it out on them. That is the reason of why they left the scars. Both of them are enjoy to it with no regrets.
