Recommendation: Two fic series (there was talk of a third but it hasn’t updated in over a year so don’t get your hopes too high). First one centres around TK/Nolpat with a lot of Nico mixed in. Great side character mix of Kevin Hayes, PK Subban, Joel Farabee and Carter Hart. I want more of PK so badly, the glimpses of him are great! Magical realism and ghosties. Great fic, fun read just angsty enough with a happy ending. Love how bitchy Nolpat is and how reckless TK is. Second fic centres around the Hughes bros and the budding relationship between Nico and Jack. But the brothers feel like the beating heart of the story to me. Long suffering Quinn is my fav. Jack is a dumbass who knows what he’s doing, if that makes any sense at all. He could also use a hug and therapy in this. Nico is lovely in this too. Both fics work as standalones.

The Last of Us idea sounds interesting. That would be an interesting way to explore their dynamic and Hollow does have problems with viewing themselves. Yet deal with the crossroads of their father finally loving them.

As for Hallownest, either residents believe their King has a plan or some realized what they’ve already knew and shouldn’t have trusted him. It puts characters like the Dreamers, Tribe Lords or anyone else an interesting position. All while PK is once again seeing the guilt of his actions but choosing to stick by them.

yes it's definitely a really intriguing idea, a very cool concept for an au! i would commit to it but i don't think my brain has enough capacity for two separate aus. it's certainly a fascinating idea to think about though

and yes, there would be a lot of angst involved, i can't imagine hollow being happy with having no choice on the matter, especially since their view stopping the infection as their sole purpose

the idea of pk willingly leaving the kingdom to succumb to the infection just because he got attached to his pure vessel is a bit grim, but i find it fascinating. just like with joel's choice in the last of us, you could empathize with it, even though at its core it's a selfish decision. would he try to find other ways to stop it? certainly, it would be out of character for him if he didn't, but the vessel plan was his best shot and likely the only option he had, so it would do no good in the end

like i said, a very interesting idea, and i would love to see someone explore it further if they also find the potential in it

Dylan Garand posted a scoreless 65 minutes against Hershey, making the Pack 2-7 in shutouts this season. The lone Pack shootout goal was by a defenseman, newcomer Adam Clendening wearing jersey #5. In overtime, the Pack displayed a strong PK after Matt Robertson was penalized on a Will Bitten clean breakaway. The Pack had three blocks, and broke-up two plays, and Domingue, was solid on the delayed penalty situation on Robertson, while making a beautiful right pad save on Hugh McGing. He had three strong late OT saves on a stick save on Adam Gaudette, Matt Kessel, and Martin Frk to keep it scoreless. The Pack got a solid bid to win early in OT by Will Cullye. In the third period, Domingue was strong, made early saves on Gaudette, leading scorer Matt Highmore, who was just sent down by the St. Louis Blues, and Mathias Laferriere. McGing and Kessel tested Domingue. Steve Santini had a quality shot with Mikhail Abramov in front waiting for the rebound. Zac Jones followed with a good stick stop on Santini on his next shift. The Pack’s Bobby Trivigno, Ryan Carpenter, and then Libor Hájek tested Springfield goalie Joel Hofer in the last five minute overtime. In the final minute, with 45.7 seconds left, Hofer stopped Abramov. Cullye had a good chance as time expired in regulation. 🎢 Which of your fics would you call your wildest ride?

The only one I’d consider at all a wild ride is my latest fic – Chill.

⛔ Do you have a fic you started, but scrapped?

Yes. I had an idea for a fic that I started working on that was in the Dæmon’s AU. It was basically that the guys did a psychological survey sort of thing about their relationships with their dæmons. Like if they view their dæmons more as part of them or as a related entity, what level of intimacy they feel touching someone’s dæmon is, how far they can get from their dæmons etc. There wasn’t much of a plot, mostly would have been the results of the survey. But I decided it wouldn’t be fun to actually write. Brainstorming for it did help me think about the guys relationships with their dæmons. Like Tommi feels Lemmikki is part of him while Niko views Riia as a separate related entity – how would that effect their interactions with their dæmons?

Also, I have a Måneskin fic I haven’t worked on in months…. But I hope to get back to that.

🦅 Do you outline fics or fly by the seat of your pants?

I need a basic outline for the fic but not too detailed. Example outline (with spoilers redacted) for a chapter of my long fic:

The bus breaks down. Niko takes the initiative and declares it’s time for them to talk about [spoilers]. They talk some, everyone is initially reluctant (they’ve been avoiding talking about this for 9 chapters!). Then [spoilers happen]. Eventually decide to walk out, they start talking in pairs as they walk. Aleksi talks to each of them in turn: Olli (about a and b), Niko (about c), Joonas (about d and e??) Joel (about f and g). Then they are confronted by [spoilers] and talk, and then are [spoilers]. On the way out Aleksi talks with Tommi (about h). Bus suddenly okay now and they can leave.

🧐 Do you spend much time researching for your stories?

I’d say not really? Mostly just the thesaurus. And googling (or using wolfram alpha) for random facts.

However, I did (re-)read His Dark Materials series due to writing my dæmon AU, and I have another mid-length fic that I’m excited about that I don’t want to start until I’ve read a book that’s in my to-be-read pile because I know it’ll be related.
