Stephen Louis Grush: From Pericles to Peter's Militia, with nude photos of practically everybody

Stephen Louis Grush, one of the militia men in Season 3 of The Righteous Gemstones, has over 30 credits on the IMDB, often in projects that emphasize gay subtexts, or texts.

In Catch Hell (2014), two toughs (Stephen Louis Grush, Ian Barford) kidnap a Hollywood actor (Ryan Philippe) with the intent of torturing and killing him.  They do a lot of torturing, but Junior (Stephen) also falls in love with him.

In Gracepoint (2014), Stephen plays a plumber's apprentice who may be gay, accused of murdering a small boy.

In a 3-episode story arc on Rectify (2016), focus character Danny (Adan Young) is  living in a halfway house.  His roommate Manny (Stephen) walks around naked and masturbates in front of him; this is particularly upsetting because he was repeatedly raped in prison.  But Manny won't stop.  Finally Danny tells the house leader about it, expecting the guy to be kicked out.  Instead, they give him a new roommate.

Coincidentally, Gavin Munn appeared in an episode of Rectify, playing a little boy who Danny sees on the beach, causing him to think about a "normal" life, with a heterosexual wife and kids.

 Stephen graduated from Roosevelt University in 2006 with a B.F.A. in Theater Performance.  He is the artistic director of XIII Pocket, which produces and performs original plays by Chicago-area playwrights.

He frequently appears on the Chicago stage.  His credits include The Seagull, Romeo and Juliet, Pericles, The Tempest, Lifeguard, Sex with Strangers, and The Last of the Boys.

Director's cut question! Anything on cloud's serious injury in rectify? We know from the remnants that Sephiroth was pissed but like how pissed?

Oh he was absolutely furious. Both with Cloud for consistently putting himself in danger despite Sephiroth telling him over and over to stay put, and with the Remnants for not stopping him. He absolutely vaporized what was left of the monster there and it didn't calm him down at all.

Of course, part of that anger was also him realizing the idea of Cloud dying terrified him, and that was not something he felt comfortable with! He was still in the feelings realization phase at the time, and seeing how much the life of this one mortal meant to him was a horrible moment. Not only because of the issues Sephiroth has when dealing with humans. He's not someone who gets attached easily, and caring so much for someone he had known for so little was chilling.

Consider also that Sephiroth likes Cloud for all his spiteful energy and never backing down approach, so imagine what a terrifying contrast it would have been to see him lying limp on the floor, unconscious, with Yazoo trying and failing to heal him.

In short, he was out of his mind with worry and he dealt with that by getting out of his mind with anger. He healed Cloud and then made a whole scene with the Remnants, scolding them for not keeping Cloud safe. Which was not fun for them. Sephiroth doesn't act too concerned about them, usually, but he does care about them in his own aloof way. Usually he would show a little concern for them after a major fight. Instead he was chewing them out despite the fact they were injured too, and that kinda hurt, plus all three were already shaken too having seen Cloud almost die for Kadaj.

All in all, not a great moment for anyone involved, and Cloud was lucky to be out of it. Sephiroth 100% didn't fully heal him out to teach him a lesson.
