I feel like you are testing me… ok, so this is the first one that came to mind. It’s sequel-ish, but I think can be read as a standalone. It’s really good and quite well done. It only hurt my spuffy heart a little for a bit

As a disclaimer/background, I do confess that I am fond of a little Spangel shippage and I kind of loathe Bangel shipping even though I definitely shipped it when I was 14. But this is really very good and it may not be exactly what you meant by “positive light”, but it is SO worth the read. If I can think of a non-sexy one later, I might add.

I'm pretty sure I saw another post say this, but what's so funny about the SpikeBuffyAngel "love triangle," is that only Spike and Angel think they're in a love triangle. Buffy is either entirely unaware or unamused that they're roping her into this.

The Be My Bloody Valentine Song Fic Event

Was gonna wait till I reached 200 fics to do a song fic event, but I can't wait, so I've tweaked it a bit.

For this event, I will be accepting requests of songs from my Spotify playlists.

To send in a req, simply go to one of the playlists below and choose a song and drop the title in my askbox, I will then write a fic inspired by said song around the pairing the playlist is dedicated to. I will fill as many as the requests as I can, and post them all starting on Galentine's day (at least the super gooey and smutty ones) and spread them out thru Valentine's day. I recommend listing which playlist you are requesting from for there are a couple of songs that are on more than one playlist. Single character playlists will most likely end up as Spangel, but could be paired with others as the muse sees fit. Any Barry Manilow will probably end up as Fanged Four or various pairings between Angelus and his vampire family.

Seeing as I can get a bit carried away with ideas and sometimes get a bit dark with my smut, if you have any squicks or triggers, feel free to list them esp if requesting on anon (I can usually read my mutuals well enough to know which lines to tread and which to stay far away from).

Okay…..not sure how much sense this’ll make because it was something that popped into my head around 8 am before I was fully caffeinated but here goes.

I’ve been a fan of Buffy since it was on the air, back in 1997 when I was barely 10 years old. And from the get-go I was a Bangel obsessed tween, and that carried me into adulthood.

These days, upon rewatch after rewatch (although I’m pretty much an OT3-er) I’ve made the switch from Bangel to Spuffy, and here’s why.

I was thinking about it this morning, and although both relationships have a ton of flaws, Bangel fills me with the sense of loss. Pretty much every charged moment between them is coated in, a reminder of, or brought to you by a sense of loss. Their first kiss? she realizes that she *must* kill him. Their second? “This can’t ever be anything…” their first time? “You almost went away today…” prom? “I can’t believe you’re breaking up with me…” I will remember you? “I felt your heart beat…it’s not enough time.” Not to mention losing his soul, killing Buffy’s classmates, her teachers, leaving town after graduation…etc.

Spuffy, although flawed in its own way, shows how each character feels for each other in spite of the obvious. Spike nearly sacrificed himself to prevent glory finding out about Dawn. He keeps his promise after Buffy dies to take care of her sister. Buffy after losing all trust in him realizes that he’s trying to be a better man, and makes the choice to believe in him, she shows him that he can be a champion.

I think growing up made me realize that although Bangel still makes me FEEL my feelings, ultimately what I feel, is a sense of loss whereas, with Spuffy, I feel overwhelmed by hope, the importance of second chances, and how someone can inspire you to be the best version of yourself in spite of the odds.

Anywho, that’s my BTVS rant for the day. Thoughts? Questions? Opinions?

Buffy, Angel, and Spike should honestly be together in a polyamorous relationship. Harmony’s right.

It almost seems like the vampire thing to do-ish. Like, we know that Spike slept with Drusilla, of course, that Angelus has, and most importantly to this point: that Angelus and Spike have slept together at least once. We also know some Darla and Dru stuff happened. And maybe some Dala and Spike stuff could have (if Angelus would have allowed it). Though none of this stuff happened at the same time, I guess, except for the Darla and Dru with the Immortal.

But on the subject of Darla and Dru with the Immortal. You know how Angelus and Spike both felt jealous and betrayed that they let him sleep with them concurrently, or whatever, because I guess the girls never let them do that with them?

Angel and Spike should just let Buffy be with both of them concurrently, and then everyone can be happy. Pfft.

And you know what? By the end of season twelve, Angel and Spike are admitting that they fight well together, and that maybe they actually like each other, so it could happen. And I’m, like, 99.9% sure that Illyria got rid of Angel’s curse there, too, so voila.

We’ve also seen via some of Buffy’s fantasies that she’d be down for this.

Consider: Spike, Buffy, and Angel having a romantic picnic by the beach at night and stargazing together. They may not be able to go picnicking in the daylight, but the night has charms of its own.

Also consider Angel and Spike getting competitive over who can name more constellations and who tells the stories that go with them better, haha :)
