A group of German construction workers start a tough job at a remote site in the Bulgarian countryside.

Despite its setting in rural Bulgaria, the movie contains many elements of a western. While the development of the story is slow. The situations, the at times ugly behaviour of the Germans, the tension that builds, and the overall dynamic feels real.

It is fascinating how the Bulgarians keep talking and telling stories even though Meinhard barely understands a word. Both parties are even trying to have deep and meaningful conversations. And while it seems somehow unrealistic, you still get the feeling there's a basic understanding.

Side note, I kept wondering if Germans going to Bulgaria to do manual work is a realistic story set-up.
