BUBBLE GIRL PICS FROM FREDERICK BARNES AND NACHALO. (ENDED UP BEING JENNIFER REDDINGTON)!
Not much to say here except that even those in the Redarina camp found this a hard pill to swallow. True, they never said back in Season 1 who the girl is, but the grief and emotion on Red’s face is screaming that this child is extremely important to Red. Not his lovers other child for sure. If the writers want to now say that Red (Katarina) was in fact reminiscing Carla and Real Red’s daughter, who am i argue?  Suspension of disbelief… BIG BIG retcon!
VISUAL CLUES: Of importance for Redarina as shown in Nachalo 821 is the exact same scene is shown of Katarina looking at Bubble Girl. Yeah no, two different people can’t have the same memory.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
My take as in the other one about Red saying he raised his family in this house is that this was SUPPOSED to be his house and the child most likely Liz. But again, Dom hand picking Constantin to be Katarina’s cover husband and her targeting the RRR wouldn’t work with Katarina being here in this house having a relatively normal life. What with Red, ilya, and Ivan being besties and all over there in Russia.
This following is another visual clue. Episode 1.07 & 8.21.

and another

Conclusion: The writers had to modify retcon this to make it work with Redarina and Nachalo.

New Video: Pissed Jeans Share a Bruising and Ripping Meditation on Harsh Truths
New Video: Pissed Jeans Share a Bruising and Ripping Meditation on Harsh Truths @ThePissedJeans @subpop @subpoplicity
Allentown-based punks Pissed Jeans’ highly-anticipated sixth album Half Divorced further cements their longtime reputation for crating feral punk with their acerbic sense of humor. Thematically, the material mercilessly skewers the tension between youthful optimism and the sobering realities of adulthood but while still managing to be — perhaps inadvertently — fun. “Half Divorced has an…

Impromptu detours are common when I have to meet clients late in the evening but I swear, every damn time I forget to bring my Nikon
I guess I’m going to keep doing this until I run out of map locations because why the heck not I mean I’m here anyway

Note
This is kinda random at this point but I think Keenler Baby is still plausible. They left it open imo. What say you? And yeah, I miss hearing your theories on them 🥹
Tumblr media
Yes. They left a lot of storylines open on The Blacklist. They never explained the tragedy that made Rederina want to burn down the Takoma Park house. They never circled back to Tom and his role with Gina and Fokin and the death of Meera Malik even though they quite literally brought her daughter into the show. Liz's second memory wipe was the biggest storyline they left open. They could pull a Keenler baby spinoff if they wanted to. A Ressler-centered spinoff like Tom's, only with Ressler continuing to be the agent he is and using everything he learned from Rederina. I still believe in Keenler baby 100%. Cooper took on the role of Sam, so everything is there should they want to parallel Agnes with Liz and Ressler with the real Raymond. The spinoff would look like father and daughter Ryker from the pilot episode.... only Agnes at the same age as Beth's current age.

The Blacklist - Frederick Barnes Episode 1x8 - The Takoma Park House
Tumblr media
I’m looking at this from the angle that Redarina WAS ALWAYS THE PLAN. not entertaining him being the real RR/Liz’s dad (although I was formerly DG) or a third man, for this little exercise. This is in retrospect as way back when, i had a completely different take on this house.
I will concede, the writers altered or dare I say... retconned this but it could in theory still work with Redarina with a little imagination.
Here’s what Katarina said in 821:
Katarina: The next two years were a blur of lies. I was married to a man I didn’t love. I had a child with the man I was targeting as a spy. My husband believed the baby was his, and my lover had no idea he was a mark. Real RR: We’d see each other when we could. Paris. Katarina: Moscow. Real RR: London. Katarina: St. Petersburg. Real RR: Berlin. Katarina: By then, I had lost any sense of myself. I was living a lie. Everything about me was pretend. Liz: And your wife, she never knew? Real RR: There were some close calls. Katarina: I even helped watch Jennifer one weekend while she was away. It was extremely uncomfortable, playing house.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
So what I think looking at this from a Redarina pov and how this could work....
two things come to mind.
My first choice would be that when Red said he raised his family in that house... it was meant to be truthful story wise. This was ONLY the seventh episode in the series 8 years ago. My thought is that they hadn’t planned/mapped out Katarina’s (Red’s) backstory but this was supposed to be his house! HE SEEMS GENUINE. though we can’t rely on that. because criminals are notorious liars. Take the preposterous story he told Madeline Pratt for example that I’ve written about.
Anyways, It was later changed because well, Red is a Russian spy, it wouldn’t work him raising his family in America. Not to mention, he was busy raising Masha in Moscow and The Summer Palace with Alexander Kirk.
My second choice would be just to say that he’s speaking as the real RR but his identity is still Katarina.
Conclusion: We saw in Nachalo that the house ended up belonging to the real Raymond Reddington and his wife Carla. Red cannot be a third man raising his family in that house when it was the OG RR raising his family there. Katarina didn’t really raise her family there either.
Plot/writing sorta retcon. next up... Bubble Girl.

New Audio: Pissed Jeans Share a Bruising Ripper @ThePissedJeans @subpop @subpoplicity
Throughout the course of their 20-year history together, Allentown, PA-based punks Pissed Jeans — Matt Korvette (vocals), Brad Fry (guitar), Randy Huth (bass) and Sean McGuinness (drums) — have never been known to go halfway: They’ve long been known for material that pairs feral vocals and acerbic, biting lyrics with buzzsaw guitars — and for their unhinged live show.  The Allentown-based punks’…

Ben Chasny & Rick Tomlinson—Waves (Voix)
Tumblr media
Waves by Ben Chasny & Rick Tomlinson
On Waves, Ben Chasny joins forces with English multi-instrumentalist Rick Tomlinson for a set of instrumentals. The acoustic guitar pieces that dominate are consistent with the playing of both, especially, in Chasny’s case, Intimate Landscape (2021, reviewed for Dusted by Tim Clarke), featuring fingerpicking that eschews the Takoma Park-style heavy thumb in favor of cascades of notes punctuated by pauses and spaces. The guitars alternately interweave and play off of each other in compelling ways. The tracks seem to be largely improvised, and the recording was apparently completed in just a few days, but there is nothing rushed about it, with each composition having a distinctive feel.
On “Ellipse of the Declining Sun,” “Waking of Insects,” and “Wait for Low Tide,” the guitars interweave to generate a web of sound that pulses and shifts almost like a synthesizer. The latter track stretches over nine minutes, with minute shifts in the picking patterns that keep the listener engaged, and the fade-out at the end leaves the impression that the pair may have kept playing for hours.
The other acoustic tracks, opener “i” and closer “ii,” are more call-and-response, with the guitars panned hard left and right. The gentle, meditative sound frames the recording as a whole and nicely suggests the two friends coming together and then parting ways.
Also adding to the variety is the longest of the tracks, which is completely different sonically. “Paths of Ocean Currents and Wind Belts” is a tape loop creation that shimmers and ripples. It’s as engrossing as the acoustic pieces and doesn’t seem out of place because it shares with them a trance-inducing quality.
Hopefully, Waves isn’t a one-off since Chasny and Tomlinson sound great together and bring out interesting features of each other’s playing.
Jim Marks
