My partner is home sick (sad) so now I get to watch all the boring ass, hour long, crusted up documentaries from the 80s that I want
I'm watching this one on Kowloon Walled City rn (it's in German with English subtitles)

3/7/23.
Ron Rude (Belgrave/Melbourne) was part of a vibrant Australian post-punk scene in the late 70s/early 80s. Actually, there is an excellent compilation that captures this - it was released by Chapter Music in 2001 - and it contains "Piano, Piano" from Ron Rude (it also contains songs by The Apartments and The Pits just to name a few).
Ron Rude sounds like a product of their time that also somehow retains a current feel. You can't help but see parallels to The Stooges, Lou Reed and David Bowie. You can also hear Orange Juice and Lloyd Cole in the vocals. And finally, I can't help but hear a little Mac DeMarco.
This is being released Sorcerer Records, a reissue label based in Melbourne.

HE WILL BE BACK FROM THE PITS IN A DAY OR SO AND HOPEFULLY LEARNED HIS LESSON ABOUT NOT HELPING GRANDPA UP THE STAIRS AND LETTING HIM FALL AND BREAK HIS HIP. THEN WE'RE GOING TO TH*RAPY UPON GREGORY FROM GRINDR'S REQUEST (ALTHOUGH I INSISTED HE SLIP SEDATIVES INTO MY NIGHTLY NUTRIENT JUICE FOR JOINT REPAIR AND I WILL WAKE UP 16 HOURS LATER DAZED AND SWEATING PROFUSELY TIED TO A CHAIR IN A TH*RAPIST OFFICE, AND THE TH*RAPIST WATERBOARD AND TORTURE ME FOR INFORMATION ABOUT MY PERSONAL ISSUES LIKE IT'S AN INTERROGATION BY THE CIA IN GUANTANAMO OTHERWISE I'LL BE BORED AND MISERABLE THE WHOLE TIME AND WILL CAUSE PROBLEMS.)

Sam Sam Sam your tweet is not it.
Your married colleague was investigated and his behaviour was found to be inappropriate.
Comparing it to Jon Ronson's 'So You're Been Publically Shamed' comes across tone deaf.
If you believe the investigation was flawed, say that. Campaign for a reinvestigation. Did you do anything to help Hazel when the ex CEO was physically abusive to her, or do you only defend male colleagues?
Read Beverley Turner's 'The Pits' for a glimpse into the level of misogyny women in motorsports are subject to.
Read up on abuses of power.
Read Chump Lady to try to understand the emotional trauma that has been inflicted.
Get off your penis pedestal for five minutes.

The Pits by Katy L. Wood
The cover for this is so shiny. I keep looking at it. It has a pearlescent sheen which I may vaguely be in love with. I backed it on Kickstarter, thus the shiny. There are illustrations throughout the book, at least in my version! It’s cool to see the characters as the author imagined them.
more below the cut:
This is a weird Western! A genre with a long history. Basically it’s the combination of westerns and fantasy, or horror, or science fiction. In this case, westerns and fantasy. I haven't read many – any? – westerns, so I'm not sure how this holds up in that genre. And there were some word choices which felt jarring in the context – Like "dating" and "boyfriend/girlfriend". That's a low level irritant though.
This is a queer book - as in our modern parlance, not queer as in unusual. Clarabella is looking for help from the only outlaw she knows: her sibling, Royal, who left town in disgrace years ago. Clarabella’s girlfriend Emilia has been taken out of school by her father, and promised in marriage to a duke. Clarabella has some objections to this but no solid plan beyond finding Royal to get their help.
Royal has built a life for themself that they love, surrounded by a group of friends – outlaws who go out and do crime together. Living the dream, honestly. Royal readily agrees to help Clarabella, eager for the chance to reconnect with their sister away from the disapproval of their parents.
After a few gunfights and being chased out of a couple of towns, Clarabella is ready to go off on her own again, not willing to destroy Royal’s life in what may be a fruitless search. And then they figure out where Emilia has gone: The Pits, where folk frequently disappear, or come out changed, where everything has a cost which must be paid, whether with trinkets or blood. But Royal has been studying the Pits for years, hoping to understand their unique magic. So if going in after Emilia is the only option, Royal is prepared – and besides, something in the Pits is calling to Royal.
I liked this, overall. The narration gave me a solid sense of Clarabella, our first-person viewpoint. And I do love a mysterious location with strange creatures and rules. There’s a turn toward horror as their journey takes them deeper and deeper into the undiscovered country of the Pits, with ghost frogs and eight-legged wolves.
No one understands the Pits. For those who try, there are consequences.
This is the first book in a duology. You can purchase it directly from the author on her website: https://www.katy-l-wood.com/the-pits

So the Red Demon and the Dragon Demon from that "no humans become demons" comic... Here are some notes and answers based off of questions and assumptions I saw in the tags.
.They are not Satan and some other high ranking demon. They're just two regular demons working a shitty job in the pits.
.Working in the torture pits is like community service. If you're assigned to do it, you have to. You can't quit and it's not a choice.
.They're a couple who met on the job💗
.Red Demons are like, the top race of demons so yes, the red one hates his job more than the Dragon because he thinks he's better than that.
. I'm gonna make up names for them right now. Here I go! Red = Chase Bloodly. Dragon = Darren Flamebert.
.I'm gonna tag them with "the pits" so you can find them and other stuff relating to the pits of hell on this blog 👌🔥
