Travelling back home tomorrow hoping for a smooth groove

#i did have a really nice week last week but now im back to everything feeling busy #(its not really that busy) #and oh i miss being slow like idk ever since i was a literal child doing ONE excursion weekly #for an hour #always felt like such s draining burden #and tbh i would like to know why thst is because while it's easy to see as poor habit as an adult reinforcing itself #as a kid i was always made to do things. see people. #i did a summer camp every year at least during the day #i did sports i went hiking in forests #but i remember so distinctly like an age where i stopped asking my parents to try new things #because i would get so excited!!!! but then every week it would become this overwhelming presence #despite being something that i actively enjoyed #and it eventually felt so awful i was like okay no more wanting things you dont use them wisely #like ouch yeah actually that's a big one. wanting things usually wraps back #around to shame or guilt just about always #anyway how is this relevant to travelling? #it's just that i have to travel tomorrow and i have a doctors appointment Friday i have to go to in person #ive changed beds ive slept in 3 times in 5 days #and all i can say at the end of it is that even these little things are JUST enough to be on edge #to feel like im putting my hands over my ears and closing my eyes and pretend nothing bad is gonna happen #even thougu DEFINITELY something bad is going to happen #but of course it doesnt because this is all benign stuff ive done a trillion times before of no note #crazy how complicated it can be to be a person #it is why i dream of living in a small village where i am an apprentice tradesperson and i live simple house #and the house you can walk to anywhere you need to anywhere you need in an your #but no one is that urgent about anything anyway. #beautiful little place that has never actually ever existed for anyone in anytime #but i am still wanting to scream and pull my hair out just asking why why cant everything slow down and be smaller

i love having the weirdest dreams napping on the couch

#not really but #my first dream i started to lucid dream while we were walking through a parking lot #i started to fly and the dream was glitching as i realized i was dreaming and it kind of freaked me out so i just forced myself to wake up #but then the second dream was also weird #my parents and i were driving through the old rich side of town at night and we pulled into the parking lot of this bed and breakfast place #and we got out and it seemed normal albeit dark to me but my mom seemed scared and kept telling my dad she heard someone laughing #we got up to our room and my dad went to go do something so it was just me and my mom #we were also rooming with this guy for some reason but he was nice #i was just sitting on a chair and the guy was walking to the door when suddenly the door opened and he was like who’s there #and the person at the door was silent for a bit before closing it really quickly and saying sorry #the guy was like uhh 🤷‍♀️ idk what just happened my #and my mom was like go shut the door but when i went to shut it it had all of these contraptions and mechanisms #it was strange and then my dad was like let me back in and so i did and he talked to my mom for a bit about the strange things going on #he said the old owner liked to collect antiques and stuff and he thinks the place is haunted #my mom was like well i told you that i heard laughing in the parking lot #then guy that we were sharing the room with comes out of his room with bandages all over his face and i’m like what #my mom says something to him and then another guy (the same guy from before) comes out looking just like him just without bandages #and my mom is like i can help and i was like what #the guy takes off his bandages and he’s like it’s my teeth #but also side note i was weirdly struck by how handsome he was for an older man #but then my dream decided to focus on my mom like twisting and fixing his teeth into the right place #weirdly enough i wasn’t freaked out by it but it was just interesting #anyway that’s my dream i need to stop napping on that couch #dianna.moon

Please join me in a moment of pure shock that my mini boss jumped in and started helping me with a task and decide oh hell nah this is boring AF I’m getting you actual help next week you shouldn’t be doing this by yourself. guy who has been getting really into character acting and focusing on it in their comic work: really appreciate the character acting in here. loving expressions. enjoying the poses.

#it feels silly to say HOWEVER i've seen a few ppl discuss how it seems there's been a somewhat noticeable loss #of highly considered character acting in some more recent comics. this isnt to say this is a current time exclusive issue of course #many many many comics through every single era of existence have had extremely unconsidered character acting #where expressions and body language are simply not considered. it is in fact very much a skill to do good character acting #like it's easy to do in a very basic sense everyone can. but to do it particularly well is on the same level of making it feel #like characters are TRULY interacting and touching on a page physically. which like seems easy. seems like everyone drawing can do it. #but once you see it REALLY pulled off especially well your standards get raised. and you notice little things like that a lot more. #what feels truly interactive vs what looks interactive vs what feels like placing stickers on top of each other. #which again. everyone can notice. but it also is a skill for sure built up over time. #but anyways. it's on that level where you start to notice what feels like just a throwaway pose bc someone needs a character standing #vs that character really would have their hands on their hips or arms crossed bc it fits who they are. silly as it sounds #it's like posture. not every character is the type to idly arm cross or hip hold the way others will stand up straight while others slouch #choosing if a character leans forward with their chest vs with their hips. do they typically keep themselves open? closed off? etc #it sounds silly to take so seriously. but like. it is a skill. it really is. #it is one that can take a character from just someone you have a sense of thru the text and can see them on a page #to feeling like you know them bc you see their mannerisms in tandem with their personality all in what the text is telling you. #so having the skill to nicely handle both subtle and exaggerated expressions and posing really does make a difference!!! #it really elevates it. #sorry to be so silly about all this i know it isnt that serious but i dont know. i like expression my admiration of it. #every artist can do character acting. but it is still in fact a skill to handle it really well bc not everyone does #i think my good hater example is like. why i have some bleh feelings towards certain popular pump it out fast webtoon styles. #bc it's so pump it out quick (which is another issue entirely) it loses a lot of stuff like this. characters are slapped onto a page #with slapped on expressions. and it feels like character acting isn't super considered. like theyre drawn fine and stuff. #but it doesnt always feel fit to the character or the situation etc etc from stuff i've seen. #like would a character express and stand like that? or is that just ur default go to bc it's a very easy way to show that. #silly nitpick but it's a real one i think that is valid to consider #and disclaimer no not all of them are like that clearly. but i dont think it's a close to zero number either. from my observations.
