A night in the bath with Wyll
He closes his eyes and lets out a content hum. “Thank you for this, my love. It’s almost perfect.”
You look up to see what’s wrong and find he’s already looking at you. He’s leaning back with both arms propped on the edge of the tub. His head cocked to the side and with small smile, he adds “it’s far too cold. Perhaps due to the distance between us?”
He reaches his hand out, and, as much as you’d like to play coy, you don’t have it in you to deny him. So, you eagerly indulge. He grips your hand gently and pulls you into his lap. “Ah, much better,” he states planting a kiss on your shoulder.
You wrap one arm around his neck and bring your hand to his face. “Something the matter, my love,” he asks, scanning your face.
You smile. “No, nothing at all. I’m just…admiring you. You’re lovely, you know.”
“Am I?” A kiss in the palm of your hand. “I’ll have to take your word for it.” A kiss on the back of your hand. “You’ve always seen the best in me.” Kisses trailing up your arm. “Of course you would,” he chuckles. Gentle kisses on your neck. “You’ve the most beautiful heart.” A passionate kiss on the lips.

everytime i look at wyll ravengard discussion or appreciation post, and see one of those comments that went "WELL ACTUALLY I PREFER (insert character that is Not-Wyll)" and completely steer the topic away, i lost a few years of my mortality. i am here to talk about the topic of the subject, which is WYLL RAVENGARD.

I'm not seeing nearly enough Wyll content out there so can we just have a Wyll appreciation post?
(contains spoilers)
Honestly not every day you can see the developers just go "this character is not as popular as the others, let's totally redo him and his story"
And man, I really love that they did this (I know that not everyone did; sorry, old Wyll fans). Like, I understood what they were trying to do with old Wyll, it was a potentially interesting character concept, but it just wasn't quite working for me for whatever reason, and then it just. Clicked. His new badass introduction, Karlach quest, earlier Mizora appearance, THE HORNS
...well, maybe part of the appeal to me is his ties to Duke Ravengard, who was an important and beloved (although childless) NPC in our own d&d game set in Baldur's Gate that we played very recently
But it also gives him such strong ties to the main story, especially once you get to Baldur's Gate. It just felt wrong not to take him around with me in the 3rd act, the same way it was with Shadowheart in act 2. Doing his quest and helping him save his father and reconcile with him gave me so many feelings
Tumblr media
LOOK AT THIS JOURNAL. I'M NOT CRYING
I also feel like he'd be such a fun origin story to play, very fitting for a heroic protagonist (now, if I ever get to playing origin stories is another question...)
And he is such a bro. Him and Karlach are the ultimate bro team for a good-aligned character. I also remember how people were worried that his "hunting Karlach" quest meant that you won't be able to have both of them in the party, or that you'll have to spend a lot of effort mitigating the conflict between the two; and then you do the quest, and he instantly goes "oh shit, she's not a monster, I've been duped" and this was the moment his character finally got to me
And idk, it also doesn't feel forced? You can tell Karlach at this point that he helped her just because he is a good person, "maybe the best of all of us" - and gods know our party of fuck-ups really needs someone like that. I understand that for some people, he might feel like too much of a "generic human good guy" to be interesting, but come on, so many generic human good guy companions in RPGs are SO MUCH more popular than Wyll, and he deserves more love.
Also I admit I wasn't taking him with me as much in the first half of the game bc I couldn't quite make use of him in combat; but man, what a fool I was. Warlocks RULE. Give him pact of the blade, repelling blast and some good magic items and he's an absolute beast (and that's WITHOUT multiclassing)
Also he and Karlach have such a great chemistry and I totally ship them. I mean, I started shipping them before the ending, and then I god THIS ending for them and I just nearly cried

i also have day 8 started for blood kink, dp, and alternate universe. I'll post a lil bit under the cut too hfdkajfhklda it's with astarion, wyll, and you/tav in the modern world
Mr. Ancunin's home is very elegant and modern, not a mess to be found. He looks down at you, his glasses on the hilt of his nose as he raises a pale eyebrow. "Mr. Ravengard. You truly keep me on my toes. So does your little girlfriend." He waves his hand at you before letting you in. Wyll keeps his hand on the small of your back as he smiles gratefully at his lawyer. "I appreciate it. I really do. So does General Ravengard." Astarion's jaw tightens at the mention of Wyll's father, but he leads you both to his office. His desk is a dark mahogany that feels a bit dated with a modern black leather chair behind it, and his computer to the side with tabs open. You make out a Word document and an internet browser with the news plastering your face. You wince as you sit in the firm leather chair next to Wyll. "You're lucky this will be an easy win as long as you two can behave." Astarion scoffs as he moves his computer in front of him. You feel like you're in the principal's office as he starts typing away. Wyll starts talking, but you tune him out, your mind racing. You just need to apologize and then everything will be done and over with right? Wyll reaches over and holds your hand gingerly in his hand. Astarion seems very annoyed as he continues to type, pushing up his glasses. You notice that his dark eyes aren't brown but a mesmerizing red. You shift in your chair as you glance over at Wyll. He's so confident and professional. His whole life he's been trained for moments like this.

Wyllvember Day 1: The Blade/ Favourite outfit
A/N: I have not posted my writing on here for literal years, and I overall don't write much anymore (mainly because of fear of writing OOC and my many inconsistencies), but I figured I might try my hand at this. Forgive me for the ugly formatting, I'm writing this on mobile and overall have no clue how to make it look pretty😅. Anyways, let's get this Wyll Ravengard appreciation started! The prompts are from @commander-yinello and @sagscrib -Blue WC:603
The Blade of Frontiers, the protector of the Sword Coast, and its people. The name is known to many. Some whisper it in reverence, shout it in adoration, or mutter it through gritted teeth in loathing. The name carries a weight, a meaning, a notion that one is either going to be saved and protected or crushed under the heel of justice. It inspired an image in one’s mind, whether they have ever seen the Blade in person or not. A picture of justice and righteousness, of gaudiness and pompous heroics. Some imaginings are closer, some further, from the truth. Be that as it may, all of them are right, at least to some extent.
The Blade is a hero, who accompanies his actions with flowery words, creative insults, and some slightly more puzzling phrases. He is a man of many qualities, and though not all are fond of his tendency for theatrics, they must admit he is good. Whether it be his combat prowess or as a person, he is good. Which some may believe to be a weakness, a soft spot to be exploited and bruised. Those people are proven wrong very quickly.
Despite his kindness, his willingness to help those that need it, he is righteous. And there are few things more destructive than righteous fury, accompanied by powers few possess. His white, stone eye blazing as he cracks mountains, calls onto fiendish abilities to burn his enemies from inside out, blast their torsos to smithereens with a few Eldritch Blasts, or poison a small army of soulless wrongdoers with deadly clouds. For no matter how soft his heart is, how embellished and poetic his words are, his fists turn into adamantine when faced with his foes, his tongue turns into a blade sharp enough to put all blacksmiths to shame as incantation after incantation reverberates through the air until not a single enemy is left standing.
And when he returns from battle, when he swoops in to save the poor victims of the monsters he has slain, some remark how the outfit he dons is splattered with blood and soot and ash and unidentifiable organic matter. A view many would find disquieting, terrifying. But the people will only remember his kind gaze, his ebony hair and warm skin as he extends his hand to them, remember the way light reflects off the belts and buckles of his armour, how the hue of the leather contrasts with the unblemished metal.
And later on, when a feast is thrown, when the tavern is filled to bursting with folks celebrating the return of their loved ones and the defeat of the dangers that plagued them, many an eye will watch with keen interest the man responsible for such joy, watch as he laughs, how the fabric of his Splendid Blue outfit tightens around his arms whenever he raises them to toast. Others, in a different region will recall how the simplicity of his Swarthy Wayfarer shirt made them dream of his collarbones like depraved maidens. Some more noble sorts will remark that a particular shade of a Solemnity outfit made him look delectable. If everyone that has ever seen the Blade in a different outfit other than his armour were to meet and a debate on what suits him best would occur, this author is afraid that a brawl might break out on account of the Blade's handsome looks and what best accentuates them.
And as much as this humble writer disagrees with violence over romantic matters, one must admit that such behaviour is not so surprising when faced with someone such as the Blade of Frontiers.

Hats off to Wyll for being the most mentally stable and secure of the tadfool men.

Honestly I feel like this cinnamon roll probably gives the best hugs and probably always knows what to say when you're sad. Also his camp attire is the most stylish of all the companions.

Sending this all in one ask even though it's technically four different things, hope that's alright-
1. Ik it's small and just in the tags but the Sol response for the soulmates post is so 💞
2. I really liked the writing in your Yurgir post, just thought it was really neat and I liked your wordings (I could not come up with a better way to word this, though- my bad). Let him protect Tav!! Even though he's also completely wrecking them <3
3. I agree really hard on the backgrounds giving dialog options. It really feels like it should be a thing- I think maybe all background affects dialog wise, is whether or not your character gets the Baldurian tag..? But that might just be a race thing (in which you'd either get Baldurian or Underdark. Or... Nothing for githyanki? Unless they have the Planar tag? Idk)
I may not be able to have the option in game, but in my mind's eye my noble Tav introduced themselves proudly with their full name, and Astarion immediately poked fun at them for how much of a mess their family is known to be. Them most likely recognizing Wyll as the Ravengard son and assuming he'd know of them as well but he straight up doesn't. Beautiful stuff
-Tressym anon
Thank you for taking the time to write this! Love hearing your thoughts <3
1 - You read it!! I didn't think anyone would notice, I'm so happy. I really want to add them to the several characters mini-lists I make but I always hesitate because since the post will leave my blog tags, I don't want it to feel like I'm forcing my OC into the fandom main media?
So I just leave it in the tags for my readers to hopefully find, since only you guys know about Sol and will see the OG post while most people will see reblogs of reblogs without my tags.
It's like, while Halsin embraces fate and has faith in it, Sol and Minthara do not. They realise how incredibly lucky they are to have met you. Sol condems fate for being so pitiful, how easily they'd have never met you and just spent their life hiding their true self and following their family.
While Minthara fears fate, she knows she would've killed you under any other circumstances. She dreads the idea of never waking up from her brainwashing, be it from Lolth or the Absolute.
2 - I'm glad to hear you liked it! I can't stress how I will never get tired of hearing this or how these comments never get redundant to me. Honestly, I'm having a really bad day rn but still pushed out a fic bc I felt like it's been a while, it makes me feel appreciated when people tell me they liked anything about my works. So thank you again from the deepest of my heart.
3- omfg, the Astarion idea is gold. He would totally have gossip on most noble families since he spent so much time in the upper city. You'd be announce yourself and titles so proudly and he'd be like "didn't your cousin runaway with that barmaid and leave his wife and three kids behind?"
Or playful banter with Wyll since he came from nobility originally, the two of your characters could've seen each other as kids or something before the whole Mizora thing and he'd be like "wait...I remember you! You're that kid who stole my piece of cake during my birthday party"
Also imagine insulting Gortash during his coronation with a noble background, basically calling hime fake nobility and how he doesn't know the first thing about rulling or etiquette.
Maybe when you come back to the city, you already have an account made in the bank and don't need to start another? Maybe you get pickpocketed quite often because you "look rich" and if you sleep at any camp besides the elfsong tavern, you remain restless and don't heal to full.
Being an obnoxious noble sounds way too fun. A spoiled rich person who has to trudge around in the mud in the underdark and complain about their silk clothes getting absolutely ruined while the party snicker behind you.
Imagine teaching Lae'zel and Shadowheart how to slow dance <3 or taking Karlach to a very fancy restaurant reservation during her date in act 3!

Together
Day 8 of the BG3 Fic February Challenge
Sometimes you just have to write poetic BS instead of romantic BS because you love all the companions equally and you don't have enough Tavs yet to share the love with all of them.
Wyll Ravengard is BG3's biggest hype man and you cannot convince me otherwise. No companion has so much faith in you as he does, though honestly Halsin, Karlach, and Lae'zel are close seconds. But Wyll? We all need a hype man best friend like Wyll to encourage us when we're feeling at our worst or against odds that feel impossible.
So anyway, have a Wyll appreciate post in the form of a half-decent fic
Check out my masterlist of BG3 fics here!

8. "It will be okay as long as we're together."
---
Tumblr media
Invi was convinced that Wyll Ravengard was incapable of doubt, especially in his friends. Nearly every word out of his mouth, when the days were tough and the battles long, were words of encouragement and affirmation. He saw the best in all of them. There was no convincing him that they could achieve anything short of a perfect victory in every circumstance, so long as they stayed together.
She noticed it first when Gale revealed his condition to them. As they pondered and worried where they might find enough magical artifacts to sustain him, Wyll had shrugged.
As long as we work together, it should be easy. It will be all right, Gale. Seven heads are better than one.
When Mizora had visited and transformed him, gifting him devil horns and a devil’s eye, Invi wanted to repay his kindness back to him. She had mentally rehearsed the words she would say to him, wanting to get them right, even though encouragement didn’t come first nature to her. But when she spoke to him, letting him vent his frustrations against Mizora and the injustice of his pact, he ended with a sigh and shook his head.
It will be okay. Truly. So long as we stay together. It’s good to know I have friends at my side when she comes back.
When Lae’zel fell to her knees at camp, her faith in Vlaakith well and truly broken, anger and despair raging in her eyes and in her words, it was Wyll that had roused her back to action.
Come on, Lae’zel. You’re better than this. Remember, we’re stronger together. We’ll find the answers you seek and all will come to rights.
Invi couldn’t fathom how he did it. How he kept up such relentless optimism even in the face of dire circumstances. When the shadow-cursed lands threatened to swallow them whole, and her dark urges threatened to consume her body and mind and tempt her toward worse and worse atrocities, against innocents, against Isobel, against the man she loved, Wyll’s hand on her shoulder provided comfort and focus.
Trust us to take care of you, Invi. When your dark desires threaten to overwhelm you, tell us. It will all be okay in the end, if we stick together and help one another.
He’d said much the same when Shadowheart emerged, broken and hollow, from the Shadowfell, her entire life upended by her decision to spare the Nightsong and defy her goddess. As she was emerging from the dark fog, Aylin’s words of truth giving her clarity and purpose, Wyll had smiled at her and offered her a little toast with his glass.
See? Your truth is finally dawning, Shadowheart. It will be okay, so long as you’re with us. We’ll help you find the light.
Even Astarion, who normally brushed off Wyll’s words as empty fairy tale promises and pointless platitudes, paused to consider his words one night. He’d spent several minutes pacing, trying to plan his battle against Cazador but failing at every turn because he didn’t know what awaited inside the mansion. When he’d paced past Wyll, who sat lounging by the fireplace in the room, Wyll had finally had enough, standing to block his path.
Astarion, stop. It will be okay. What can Cazador do against the likes of us? Trust me, we can put an end to his evil together.
So confident. So sure. Invi and Astarion had exchanged dubious glances, but Wyll never wavered. To him, defeat was unthinkable. Not that he was afraid of defeat—he just didn’t consider it as a possible outcome at all. Iniv wished she had his confidence. She wished she had his conviction.
The day Mizora offered up his father’s life in exchange for breaking the pact and Wyll agreed, Invi finally found the chance to give him comfort. She wrapped her arms around him the next morning, hugging him close, and spoke with all the conviction she could muster.
It will be okay, Wyll. As long as you’re with us, one day, I promise, you will be okay.
He had returned her hug easily and thanked her. When he pulled away, she saw the lingering sadness in his expression, felt his touch linger on her shoulder a moment too long before he collected himself. She remembered a moment, weeks ago, in a shadowed glade, when she had caught him dancing. He’d turned, surprised, and then offered her his hand with a smile and a bow.
Trust me. I can teach you. It will be okay. We can get through the steps together.
In another life, she thought to herself, one where she was normal, natural-born, not the spawn of a literal evil god and not plagued with desires to murder and mutilate…in another life, she might have taken his hand. She might have let him show her the steps to the dance, let him twirl her around, let him bring her close for a kiss.
But this was not that life. So all she could do was shake her head and turn away before she could see his disappointment.
She knew she had made the right decision, though, when they found themselves kneeling on the docks in Baldur’s Gate, hands reaching out for Karlach as the flames erupted from her body. Invi was frozen, unsure what to do, her mind screaming for her to tell Karlach to run to Avernus but her tongue dead in her mouth. It was Wyll, always Wyll, who gave voice to her silent plea.
Come with me, Karlach. I’ll make sure Zariel will never touch you. Come with me to Avernus. Come with me and live!
Karlach had stared up at him through the flames enveloping her body, her hand clutched over her heart, wavering on the edge of doubt and trust. She had seconds to decide, but Wyll’s gaze on her was steadfast and full of faith. In her, in him, in their ability to defy the odds, even in the depths of the Hells themselves. What choice did she have but to relent under the force of his irrepressible optimism?
Karlach, I swear. It will be okay as long as we’re together.
Those were the last words that Invi heard from him before they disappeared into the portal to the hells. Though Invi had struggled to believe him a hundred times before, she had no doubts now. As the portal closed behind them, preventing her and anyone else from following after, she took comfort in what she knew now to be fact, not speculation or hope.
They would be okay as long as they were together.

the Otherworldly Companion (OC) masterpost
(aka "who the fuck are these people you're tagging")
Nuadha is what's commonly called the "Dark Urge", but with some modifications. She is an avatar of a largely-forgotten god (in this part of Toril, anyway) who ran afoul of both Bhaal and his Chosen. She travels Faerûn in the company of future Hero of Baldur's Gate Wyll Ravengard searching for a cure to a mindflayer affliction and a reunion with the sundered fragments of her Self.
Dayir and Ishan are my Eorzean Warriors of Varying Luminosity, as it were, and there's a lil about post about them here. Sesshai is their tricksy Viera bestie that I don't talk about nearly enough, for some reason.
Noah Kingfisher is the Sole Survivor of Vault 111; Gabriel the Revelator is the Lone Wanderer; and Gideon of the Grave is Courier Six. Noah is a literal child of Atom, and Gabriel is the next-closest thing, being genetically manipulated by Atom in utero. Noah also exists in Halcyon and Far Cry 5's Montana (along with Preston Garvey).
Anansi Surana is both the Grey Warden that ends the Blights once and for all, and the Herald of [???] (Razikale, but no one knows that) that lays the groundwork for a new world. he's also a First Enchanter for a while. he gets around, you could say. Elijah Wolf (or, Elijah Hawk-child, for much of DA2) is Lord Protector of Kirkwall but that doesn't stop him or his seneschal Varric Tethras from gallivanting off to Skyhold. I don't play in the Dragon Age space much anymore, unfortunately, so don't expect much about these guys unless they respawn in another universe (which is highly possible). or unless I play DA4. which is also possible.
Adrian Shepard is Commander of the SSV Normandy and the scourge of the Reapers. until he becomes something bigger than the Reapers. good thing he's on our side.
Claudio V Invictus is the Saint of Saints and the CEO of Saintscorp. he is the owner of every single pair of the booty shorts in those "shorts that say [x] on the ass" memes.
there are others -- Keahi the Watcher of Caed Nua, Llovyn Arendur of Skyrim, Ananduil and Venanduil of Azeroth, loads more Thedosians, etc -- but they don't have populated tags yet because they simply haven't come up nearly as often.
questions, comments, crack headcanons, etc about anyone here are extremely encouraged and appreciated. you truly cannot go wrong
(side note: #spicy oc tag is where all the nasty posts go. because there will be nasty posts. I delight in debauchery)
