Hello! Just wanted to say that I'm in love with your art and ur one of the people that made me fall in love with jttw jdjdje Also ur characterization of Wukong and Tripitaka makes their dynamic so charming and amusing 😭 (They r so dumb god)
Random question! Do you have a favourite moment in the book?
First of all, thank you so much!! oh my gosh that is so kind TToTT I'm really happy you liked them!! The pilgrims all being dumb together is my favorite thing hhaha As to your question, oh man, absolutely. Its more a bunch of moments all from one chapter. My favorite chapter of the book goes something like this: And I've said this before but should say again, it has been several years since I read the novel cover to cover, so I may not remember all the details just right, but as I recall it, my favorite chapter is the one immediately following the story of the White Bone Devil, which is one of the most famous chapters. But to me, the story of the White Bone Devil is nothing compared to their ridiculous conflict with Lord Yellow Robe, Kui Mulang.
After Monkey is banished by Tripitaka, he goes back to Mt Huaguo, leaving Pigsy and Sandy to look after the priest. Which goes about as well as you'd think. Pigsy says he'll go find food, then just takes a nap, Sandy I think goes looking for him, and when they both don't come back for a while, Tripitaka goes looking for them and ends up walking DIRECTLY into this demon's lair.
Tumblr media
When Sandy and Pigsy learn of the priest's capture, they attempt to stage a rescue. During the middle of the fight, Pigsy thinks they're going to lose so tells Sandy to cover him, he has to go take as shit IMMEDIATELY. Runs into the bushes, and escapes all the while Sandy is captured and yelling at him for being a fat, useless, coward (rude.. but in this case very true lol)
Tumblr media
Pigsy, now alone and unsure what to do, flies to Mt Huaguo to find Monkey and ask him to come back and save everyone. He tells him everything that's happened, and that Trip has been captured and will surely die if he doesn't help. Even after hearing all that, Monkey refuses. He's still upset that Trip dismissed him and thinks dying and reincarnating ought to teach the brat a lesson! Pigsy gives up at first, skulking off and mumbling to himself about what a flea-ridden bastard Monkey is... this is overheard by some of Monkey's minions who deliver the news to the king himself. Monkey orders Pigsy to be brought back for execution LOL Thinking on his feet, Pigsy tries to redirect Monkey's ire, and thinks one of my favorite lines in the novel. "A warrior is more likely to answer a challenge than an invitation".
He tells Monkey that it wasn't him... This demon, Lord Yellow Robe, he's the one who called Monkey a weak, pathetic, cowardly fool.
And this makes Monkey ENRAGED
Tumblr media
Monkey springs into action, flying to confront this demon. Screaming about all the nasty things this demon said about him while Lord Yellow Robe has no idea who the hell this monkey is or why he's so pissed off.
Tumblr media
And boy, does Monkey go HARD on this guy. After he beats him up and along with a bunch of his soldiers, the demon retreats into his lair and Monkey is left out. He can't find a way to get to him, so instead takes out his anger on Kui Mulang's wounded but still living soldiers, killing them all. He meets back up with Pigsy and Sandy and tells them his brilliant idea to draw the demon back out.
By taking his half-human children and killing them outside the gates, hoping that will enrage their father enough to come back out. Even his companions think he's malding a little hard
Tumblr media
This has gone on awhile so to cut the rest short, Monkey is eventually "victorious". I think I recall a subplot about Trip being turned into a tiger too, and there was this captured princess subplot too.
But this is my fave chapter lol. Basically "Monkey Accidentally Saves The Day By Avenging An Imagined Insult To Himself"
Peak Monkey behavior, absolute mad lad, everyone is an idiot. Its just a mess and I love it.

Does Bai Longma know how to dance, I’m assuming he does based off when he turned into a palace servant and did that sword dance when Tripitaka was captured by Yellow Robe even it was a very brief moment
That is the only time we see him dance, but apparently, it was damn good, especially when he was dancing with a sword.
Tumblr media
He was able to pour a cup that overflowed but still did not spill. He even SANG to Yellow Robe, even for a short while.
Bailong was able to create an intricate dance with the sword that he was given but quickly tried to kill this guy even if it didn't work.
But yeah he knows how to dance, sing, and pour a drink, a very versatile guy!

JTTW Chapter 31 Thoughts
Chapter 31 for the @journeythroughjourneytothewest Reading Group!
You can practically hear the sarcasm seething when Sun Wukong says “O, Master is so just and kind!”. In the other two translations they make it clear in the text that it’s meant sarcastically, but Anthony C. Yu managed to really bring across the sarcasm without a need for spelling out that it’s meant sarcastically. Very neat and pretty difficult to pull of so well!
Excuse me, those children are only eight to ten years old?! Lady Baihua Xiu, what have you been doing making them out as some monsters?! They are still little!
Also not cool at all for Sun Wukong to treat the young children like this. Especially because it is him, he of all people should be more empathetic towards children. He’s a communal grandpa for crying out loud! And it’s not like those two even did anything either.
On a lighter note it’s very cute how Sha Wujing really encapsulates the little brother role, particularly with his interactions with his eldest brother like we see here.
Ah, the return of sexism. This time the lady in question is proving otherwise though, a good step in the right direction. But of course immediately backtracked by blaming her for something inherently out of her control and a hefty case of Men Writing WomenTM.
Old monkey is condensed silly.
Yellow Robe is a decent husband, I give him that. Not without fault as we’ve already seen, but he does care.
That portraying the fights through poems is a good way to do it should be clear from the start, but why it’s so good just came to me now that I think about it. They are snappy, so the tension is carried well and they basically go in a blow by blow manner with the alternating lines. They carry the speed of fighting while also being quite clear and easy to follow. Writing good combat is hard, so writing it like this is smart!
Honestly there would have been a way to at least somewhat fix up the loophole of the jade girl and the Wood Wolf Star ordeal. Just say the princess forgot her previous life. It would still be a little odd that the Yellow Robe fiend didn’t just explain things to her, but you could technically claim that if he spoke out what was going on someone could hear and report him, so he kept it an unspoken, but what he believed known, deal.
Last but not least the jade girl does give me some Ariel vibes with her wanting to see the world, in this case, ‘below’.

Kui Mulang headcanons?
ah, this question
STILL A HUGE BELIEVER IN HIM LOVING DISCO
like disco is shiny, he's shiny, it's a good match.
But other than that
Five bucks says you could beat him with a head scratch, just right behind the ears and he'll go down like a sack of bricks.
He's probably also a theater kid and will spring his heartbreaking story on just about anyone in ear shot. Like you let you guard down and boom wolf dude's there trauma dumping.
Going with the theater kid thing he's probably into Shakespeare and totally kins Romeo and Juliet.
For some reason he seems like a caramel guy, like idk why but I feel like he'd like caramel.
I also think he's really smart when it comes to jewelry, like he can tell what's fake or expensive and he can tell you you what'll go good with what along with the names of plenty of jewels.
He really leans in to the yellow thing but purple is his second favorite color because it matches his eye (which I also headcanon to be purple) .
I think he actually enjoyed being a demon a whole lot more then being a celestial because being a demon gave him a lot more freedom, freedom most celestials don't have.
UHHH, yeah! hope u enjoyed!!

Mini theory
Dragon Princess of the West and mei
I just realized something
in Court of the Yellow Robed Demon
Ao Lie mentioned to Mei that her impulsiveness reminded him of his sister
What suggests that mei is similar in personality to ao lie's sister?
the fact that ao lie mentions her sister could indicate that she could appear in the next few seasons and maybe be important to mei's character arc
or maybe i'm just over analyzing

Yo what if Sanzeng sealed Azure in the scroll?
Alright so, I was imagining how the friendship fall-out between the Brotherhood and Wukong went down and I got an idea when I was imagining the Brotherhood getting sealed in the scroll.
The preceding context for this is that the Brotherhood tried to enact their plan of sealing Wukong in the scroll, which Tang learned about in the episode Court of the Yellow Robed Demon.
Tumblr media
Basically, the Brotherhood are fighting Wukong, although Yellow-Tusk was kinda offscreen in my head so it was really just Peng and Azure fighting the monkey. And they have the guy on the ropes, cause Wukong wasn't expecting that they would fight. And when Azure's about to seal Wukong in the scroll, instead, he gets turned into ink, and sucked into a scroll piece. Behind him is Sanzeng, holding out his hand and looking shocked.
In summary: Wukong is on the ropes fighting the Brotherhood, and when he's about to be sealed in the scroll, Sanzeng acts in the spur of the moment and uses his mystic magic to seal Azure in the scroll instead.
Tumblr media
OK BUT HEAR ME OUT
This is totally plausible! Because if there are two things we can be certain about, it's that:
Wukong and the pilgrims did fight the Brotherhood
The Brotherhood were sealed in the scroll
And this would line up with that!
Tumblr media
Especially considering how Tang is able to teleport through the scroll, which Azure himself says that Sanzeng could do. So it's possible Sanzeng could have some power over the scroll, including sealing people in it.
Tumblr media
We also see Sanzeng magically helping a ghost pass on in The Great Tang Man, AKA magic shit to do with dead people, AKA guess where the scroll came from?
Yeah that's right, the Underworld, AKA a place full of very dead people. The scroll itself contains wicked souls who died and were imprisoned within it as punishment for their misdeeds too, actually.
Furthermore, Peng doesn't seem to take very kindly to the monk, as shown in the episode The Brotherhood.
Tumblr media
Peng: "If it isn't the great monk Tang Sanzeng. You cannot imagine how I've longed for this moment."
Episode 8 of S4, The Brotherhood
Granted, he could just blame Sanzeng for Wukong getting in cahoots with the Celestial Host, or maybe he knows about the circlet because that DID happen. But it would also fit if Sanzeng was the one who sealed the Brotherhood away in the first place.
Tumblr media
And as an additional point, we already know Sanzeng has sealed people away before (or after the Brotherhood fiasco, depending on when LBD was sealed away). So the idea of him sealing people away isn't new.
It also doesn't necessarily conflict with his oath of no violence, as TECHNICALLY, he isn't stabbing or punching or beating them up. He's just kinda sucking them into the hell dimension (although I'm pretty sure he wouldn't know about the hell dimension part).
Tumblr media
And continuing on the subject of sealing, Sanzeng was also a key part of the ritual to seal the Samadhi Fire, so that's a double whammy for sealing shit away.
This shit is lining up TOO WELL
Tumblr media
But yeah, while I'm not sure about how it specifically happened, I think it's possible that Sanzeng might have sealed the Brotherhood away in a sort of spur-of-the-moment type of way. (So like, he wasn't planning on it, it just kinda happened as a result of the stress of the situation).
So essentially, in summary:

I got an ask about Yellow Robe Demon to ask to clarify some things.
Yes, sadly that the children are half-yaoguai and conceived under questionable circumstances their deaths were to be considered non-issue. We only see Yellow Robe mourn them but I'm not sure if this was to imply that the children were already far gone under their father's influence that they could not be helped like how Red Boy was, or that it was punishment on Yellow Robe Demon himself for kidnapping his wife.
Tumblr media
Wukong did say that he would give the boys back but at the same point, the Princess seemed more worried about their father's wrath than their safety. She pleads with Wukong against and against because she seems more worried that the Yellow Robe demon is going to hurt Wukong or those around him. I would like to thing she could care but it seems more like she is protesting out of fear than love.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
She claims that she was taught to be a loyal and dutiful wife but Wukong reminds her that she is also a daughter and should go back home to the family that has been looking for her for 13 years. Being filial to one’s father and mother was something that was to be respected and while this isn’t always the case I think was trying to get her to see she doesn’t have to stay with a family that she didn’t have a choice in and go back to a family that does love her. The mother calls the children “his seed” showing perhaps she never really bonded with the kids or that even she was unable to.
It could be that they were still being cultivated and therefore were either old enough to have a human body or that they were only connected to their father. We see that the only example of a demon that is unable to speak within the story and that is the python yao, was said to be uncultivated. Because these are half-yaoguai children it is hard to say exactly how their biology works because there were so few examples.
We only have one other example of a half-yao demon and that is the White Snake child. But the White Snake child was seen to be a very normal baby with no complications and even came out fully human. This could be a case that perhaps a yao mother yields better results of a more cultivated child than a human mother but I have another idea why that could be.
Yellow Robe's children were never given any dialogue, and while we do read that they were shouting and screaming, they are never given a position where they’re able to communicate with anyone. And to me, this suggests that they are unable to communicate, or they are not meant to be understood as reaching the point of being a human. I am going to try to compare White Snake and Xiyouji and their half-born demons but these are very different stories, one being a romance and the other one being a fantasy journey. But we see how a union created with mutual love and respect is different from how a union created and kidnapping is to be perceived.
This could be a matter of earth-born demons versus demons that were fallen celestials. We see two different types of earth-born demons, one being the White snake boy that came out fully cultivated and completely human. The other is Red Boy who is said to have cultivated at least 300 years in order to reach the position where we meet him within the story. Red Boy could have taken longer due to himself being a full-born demon child. White Snake's son has a parent that has cultivated and another with natural cultivation therefore having a more accumulative.
But we have to look at how fallen celestials have children. And this could actually tie into why Heaven is so strict about celestials not having families when they already have positions due to how their offspring could come out.
Zhu Bajie was reborn as a pig but kept his Dao powers somehow, leading to him becoming a demon at birth. We see at the moment of his birth he was unable to think properly and had a more violent temper, he showed us by eating his siblings and his mother. It could be that fallen celestials, or any new life with fallen celestial cultivation becomes more volatile and unstable in both mind and body.
However, we see that not even celestial that has children is fallen as with Yuanhua and Sanseng Mu who were able to have normal human children and never lost their human forms. It is never said that they turned into Yao when they left heaven and this could be for many reasons that they were not punished by heaven by being banished or that they didn't eat humans when they left the heavens while Yellow Robe and other fallen celestials did fall into a hungry desire for power and started to eat mortals. This could suggest that a strange cocktail of both cultivated qi from good and bad sources leads to more unstable children if with a mortal.
We see that children born from celestials are very powerful with Erlang Shen and Liu Chenxiang being prime examples, but their mothers never were considered fallen despite breaking the law. The children of Yellow Robe are nowhere near as strong and this could be because they lack formal training but it could be that they are more cultivated from demon qi than their father's celestial qi and therefore would be weaker such as the case with White Snake. There could be a case that these children could have been as powerful without formal training similar to Red Boy but that is hard to say without ever seeing a case of this.
This is all to say that children born of fallen celestials are more unstable and need more cultivation similar to full demon children, unlike celestial children who have not fallen.
Another option that I find less possible is that these children were born of a mortal woman while we see other celestials having children with mortal men. Can't really see how that would change much but that is also a variable to be noted.
The last option is that these children were never to be considered 'characters' to say. While we see with other children born of celestial or yaoguai unions we get to explore who they are and what they can overcome. These children were sadly more extensions of Yellow Robe and his influence over the Princess. While that isn't the case in a more real-life setting, story-wise the symbolism is that the Princess is completely freed of Yellow Robe's presence and can return to her 'real' family. I may not be putting it eloquently but that could just be the case.
It could be the case of the Nine Generation law. Wukong's monkeys went through a similar thing and yes while most of them were fighting against heaven the law has it that the family member never even had to be directly involved in the crime of the criminal. So the children wouldn’t have to have been involved with Yellow Robes crime, like how White Face Vixen was with her adopted father, but been punished due to their affiliation with their father.

Monkey King 2009 Episode 6.
I really need to sit own and figure out who out of the four generals are who. I get the feeling two of them are worse but I think of them as a collective group so I haven't been really pinning down their individual personalities.
As for the episode: Mostly just super cute? With some chewy bits. I really thought they were about to find Water Curtain Cave (genuinely do not remember if the troop is already there or not) when they went over that waterfall, but instead they became sworn brothers (just like that! Stone Monkey has saved Six Ears's life at least four times so far, though. I suppose it's overdue. He is clearly in this for the long haul.) Also had fun with how them playing around was immediately paralleled by the Demon King and his imps playing at theater to cheer Demon King up, though. Weirdly, incredibly wholesome? This dude wanted to murder a kid, stop being cute. He goes to eat a little kid at the end of the episode the second the little kid asks him not to LIKE-
I have to wonder if Stone Monkey actually "forgot" he needed to get the mushrooms back, or if he was just clinging on to hanging out with Six Ears - someone willing to claim him and let him claim them, who likes him, appreciates him, and wants him around - over having to go back. He had a very rough time last episode. Six Ears not being there to see how viciously Stone Monkey was laid into is also kind of important, I think.
...This episode makes me tired, actually. They had to have the cute bits to counteract the sheer bleakness and tension of everything else.
It's interesting to see Stone Monkey's abrupt shift from his more accepting and submissive behavior when being brutally verbally abused scolded from last episode/how quick he was to laugh things off in Episode 3 to how he acts here. Not surprising, after the way he was treated last episode, but interesting. Considering how normal he acts with Six Ears when it's just the two of them though, it's still startling to see him suddenly baring his teeth at Marshal Ma. (Holy shit, he bared his teeth at Marshal Ma). His impatience at the military drill also has teeth to it - he's genuinely annoyed and might actually be being a bit mean-spirited and antagonistic when he laughs at the failure of the drill and then barges in on the lookout (rather than just oblivious to social niceties like is usually the case). Considering he was pretty calm when wandering through the civilian activities just a bit earlier, I think it's the four generals in particular who are drawing this out of him.
(Also, him consistently being confused and slightly enraptured with regular community/family life is...sure something, huh? ): )
I don't actually blame him for this though, since he was accused of messing up their military response and fortifications leading to the critical condition of the king last episode. If he's going to be taking the fall every time the four generals screw up, I can't blame him for feeling entitled to a review and general criticism of their work. They did that to themselves. Also interesting how mild their response to him was, even when he ripped up their diagram, but I wonder if this whole thing taking place so much in public has something to do with that. They are very inconsistent in how they respond to Stone Monkey, though, even within the same episode. Can't imagine this is helping things at all.
(Nice that they took his observation under enough consideration that they were actually discussing the pros and cons of filling that gap in the defenses, but they've already proven they won't actually change their behavior toward him so they get no points for that. Better than negative points.)
Also leaf crown!Six Ears and Stone Monkey bonelessly flopping down against Six Ears's back to nap was also very cute (even if he was disrespecting the other students, even if Marshal Ma was making an absolute hash of the lesson) (like when they made an absolute hash of explaining good posture and attentive listening to Stone Monkey) (I mean, we already knew he was never going to take them seriously as teachers ever again after that. To be fair.). And of course, instead of responding responsibly and giving Stone Monkey a reasonable warning or punishment for disrupting class and not paying attention, absolutely everyone gets disproportionately angry and absolutely everyone feels the need to say some wildly out-of-line things. These guys.
Then Marshal Ma stops Six Ears from running after Stone Monkey.
):
I know this episode is probably meant to be a bit about Stone Monkey's flaws to contrast what we saw of his virtues last episode, but I dunno. The only real flaw I saw was his general obliviousness toward other peoples' feelings from when he was playing with Six Ears, but for the rest of it he just seems like a kid in a really bad situation pushing back the only ways he can. They keep trying to push him out and he has to fight to keep every inch of ground he can just to keep from getting shoved off the metaphorical cliff. Especially with Old Monkey King out of commission and Six Ears being just another kid, there's no protection for him, no space for him to breathe or get distance or "try to see things from their point of view". He's under active threat (and being kicked out of your home is a threat) from the adults in his life at all times. If he's in survival mode, and he's settled on 'fight', that's...not really on him. Sure, it's probably not the best way to handle the situation, but I'm also not really sure they'd let him have a "best" way. He could behave "perfectly" and the next time they need a scapegoat he'd still be on the chopping block, because they've already made up their minds that he doesn't belong and they just want an excuse. He can't win. I can't blame him for still trying to find a way to win. What are his alternatives?
And, I mean, the canonical JttW Monkey King also tended to have good reasons for why he lashed out against people, and the main issue was generally him taking things too far (and everything else he did on the side), so this does fit if they go that route, but...
This poor kid ):
Stone Monkey should kidnap Six Ears and go live with Jade Rabbit. She'd absolutely hate it right up until she didn't anymore. They could have some great arguments about it. I'm sure they'd both love that. They could go visit Old Monkey King sometimes. It'd be great.

It may be a little stupid to ask this but
I was wondering if you could do Adam x seraphim fem reader? Which reader is high rank just like Sera and maybe Adam is very lovey dovey toward him and every time she popped out of nowhere and he just had a stupid simp look on his face
( it could be drabble but depend on your choice ^^)
A/N: not stupid at all! I’m posting this one from my phone so I can’t change the color of his name like I usually do, it won’t give me yellow. hope you enjoy!
Character: Adam
Type: Drabble (Adam x seraphim fem!reader)
Oh you were so fucking hot. Like, unfairly hot, Adam decided as he sipped on his straw. His cup was nearly empty, he’d have to get more to drink soon, but that was neither here nor there. That could wait. You were a seraphim, a high ranking one at that, so of course he noticed you. But it was like your mere existence demanded his attention.
He was vaguely aware he was staring, but honestly he couldn’t help it. You usually didn’t come around to this part of heaven, he noted, though it seemed that you had some sort of business with Sera and Emily, as the three of you were deep in a conversation he couldn’t hear. A voice to his left, however, brought him back to reality.
“Sir, we’re needed in the council room. Some of the teams were wanting to review our plans for this year’s… events.” Lute, ever so diligently reminded him. She paused, the wry smile on her helmet grew as she nudged her commander before continuing more casually. “You can drool over your seraphim later.”
This certainly got his attention.
“Oh, shit, right. Yeah, let's get this over with.” Chancing one last look back at you, only to find that this time, you were looking back. You smile, offering a small wave as you watched him leave, doing your best not to giggle when he nearly tripped over his own robes.
The meeting, of course, had been boring as shit. He’d be lying if he said he didn’t nearly fall asleep a couple times. In truth, he couldn’t care about strategy, that was more Lute’s forte. So long as he got to kill some of those demon assholes, he was happy.
But when they exited the council room he was surprised to find you waiting by the doors. Lute, however, merely smiled.
“I’ll leave you two be.” Adam watched as his right hand left, an absolute betrayal. He wasn’t ready yet! But he was Adam! First man! He could totally handle this.
“H-heeeey.” He tried, mentally kicking himself, though you didn’t seem bothered whatsoever.
“Hi.” A fond smile took to your lips that nearly made him melt. Shit, it had been a long time since he had been made to feel like this. “I couldn’t help but notice you staring earlier. I thought I would wait to talk to you.”
Oh he was so fucked.

JTTW Chapter 30 Thoughts
Chapter 30 for the @journeythroughjourneytothewest Reading Group!
So this fiend is pretty smart to deduce the situation this quickly and accurately.
I do wonder if Baihua Xiu has ever asked to visit her parents sometime. The fact that her husband said “Why do you still think only of your parents […]” makes me believe she might be talking about them at least once in a while. Though in all seriousness it is only natural for her to miss them and you can’t get by with only a single person to rely on for social interaction. Does she even have any friends? No human ones, I’m pretty sure about that.
Ah domestic abuse, not cool buddy. It appears this was the first time he did something like that, but he better take action to make amends and that it never repeats.
And he does take action, that’s a good start. Nevertheless the mere fact that she doesn’t feel like she can openly talk with her husband already shows that this marriage isn’t all that. She’s putting up a front from what we’ve seen and heard thus far.
Now it wouldn’t surprise me if Baihua Xiu thought ‘Damn, why can’t he change into this form more often.’.
Oooh, foreshadowing in what is deemed a tall tale, very clever on the writer’s part!
Though how can the king believe this so easily? He has the letter from his daughter after all, which tells a whole different story!
I do very much appreciate that the poem said ‘tiger scary, but also really cool’!
Awww, Bailong Ma called Sun Wukong his Big Brother! While calling the other two by their nicknames, we can clearly see who he’s more attached to.
Also hey, the horse is doing something for a change!
That combat poem is a bit confusing in which line belongs to which individual. I think the first of every pair of lines refers to the demon and the second to the dragon until “The silver dragon flew and danced; The yellow demon flipped and flopped.” when it becomes the other way around for the last two pairs of lines.
While Zhu Bajie is still cowardly here, he is not without reason. After all it already showed that he can’t win on his own, so getting backup is the best course of action.
Though insulting the horse, who has shown greater initiative than him this Arc. Tsk, tsk.
Hehe, he totally forgot Bailong Ma was a dragon, didn’t he?
Once again, awww! Makes sense Bailong Ma would vouch for Sun Wukong like that. He likely took great care of the horse all this time after all.
I do really enjoy stories making use of unique character traits and anatomy.
Sun Wukong really said ‘Where’s your business card?’.
HA! Cloud-scraper instead of skyscraper, now that got a laugh out of me!
Very wise of Zhu Bajie to go with the local cuisine. Something people should do in general if they travel to a different place. It brings new experiences and if you are so clever as to go out of your way to see where the locals dine you tend to get the best and tastiest version of said experience.
