Just a few takes from the dinner with Cassius.
I really love Cassius’ idealism? And his need for true democracy. How he tried to prevent the steps before the takeover of Gaul. What his motivation for being anti Caesar.
He is so interesting to talk to - he has hope, he tries to go by the rules, and thinks of the people.
And how that doesn’t seem to quite work out.

A late ACOR's headcanon
Tumblr media
After finishing A Courtesan of Rome for the second time, I still can't stop thinking about how MC's story would fit in reality. On chapter 20, Cassius mentions that he has considered suicide, but MC kept him going. Later, he says he has much to live for now. Therefore I cannot believe he would kill himself out of shame or sorrow. Actually, I have a much clearer idea of what happened to them now.
As chief of her tribe, my MC swore to come back to Gaul and restore it no matter what, but agreed to stay with Cassius in Rome until things with the Senate were settled.
Cassius and MC married right away but kept it a secret from most people, since their union would probably be very frowned upon.
As we know, he entered on a war against Anthony and Octavian. MC realized at last that they couldn't win this war, neither was she willing to spend more time away from her duties, and made a decision.
It took a lot of convincing, but she managed to make Cassius see that Rome was doomed and didn't deserve his devotion, and he agreed to fake their own deaths so they could flee. No one never suspected a thing.
They arrived in Gaul and slowly started to restore MC's tribe. Her family found more survivors and returned after a few months, helping to rebuild what once was.
MC was a great chief, a true warrior, fair, smart both loved and feared. She even added a few things of the Roman culture she learned to love to her tribe. She had many children and grandchildren with Cassius, who found in Gaul happiness and realization he'd never achieve in Rome. I can see him teaching politics, poetry History and much more to kids.
They fought against conquerors to the end of their lives, but long after they were gone, gauls and romans eventually mixed and the ancient tribes were forgotten. But her story carried on... as a myth.
Fanfiction much? Let me know what you think.

“You see the world like a poet, not a politician”
Many things can be said about him, but no one can say that he doesn’t know how to talk.
I like him so much!!

what she says: im fine
what she means: acor mc can only truly have her happy ending if she chose syphax, sabina, or her family. marc antony ignited the spark for a 17 year civil war and eventually marries cleopatra, meaning that mc never really ended up ruling rome by his side or becoming his queen like he promised since antony and cleopatra eventually fled to egypt and committed suicide following their defeat at octavian’s hands. if mc chose to stay with antony in rome, she became nothing to him but a mere prostitute, along with the fact that antony never told mc he loved her. on the other hand, if mc chose cassius, the ending is just as tragic. if they stayed in rome, he is eventually defeated by antony and octavian in the battle of philippi and commits suicide on his birthday. if mc chose to bring cassius back to gaul to restore the tribe, he only agrees to leave once the senate is running smoothly again and rome is stable. but since antony instigated the war, that means that cassius and mc never left and died shortly after getting married, seeing as the battle betwen antony and octavian, and cassius and brutus lasted a mere 21 days

Fan art of A Courtesan of Rome by Pixelberry Choices
MC with her boy toys of Rome, Marc Antony and Cassius Longinus.
I only included these two LI’s because the others did not play a pivotal part in the Ides of March shenanigans. Hope y’all enjoy :)

Summary - Charity shares her fears with her new husband...
Word Count - 600
❤️❤️❤️❤️
Her blonde hair fell over her shoulders, she looked as beautiful as the first night of him being her patron. She was a beautiful person, she was sassy to a fault, she stood for justice and she was fiercely loyal, she was a loyal lioness. She cared for her family, for the people in her life she considered allies. She made his heart burst with pride, he was proud to know her, he was proud of his wife.
Her smile lit up the room, it always had since the day he met her, there was just something that drew him to her.
The husband and wife were taking a stroll around the gardens, the new lady of the house had managed her new role beautifully. She was kind to others, she was a supportive wife who had her husbands back. The one thing he could never ever comprehend is how she chose him, there was times he felt he wasn’t good enough for this goddess of a woman.
The stars glittered above them, and the breeze was gentle against their song, they walked hand in hand, spending tim in each other’s company was something they loved the most, he loved his wife, he never ever saw himself being so lucky in love, but here he was, with his newly wedded wife, she was everything.
“Do you think we will be successful in all our battles?” Her voice broke the silence and Cassius frowned, they had gotten rid of Caesar, what other battles was she thinking of? He took both her hands as he stopped walking, he started into those enchanting eyes that he had fallen so in love for, the eyes that had his heart from the first moment, even if at the time he didn’t even know.
“What is the matter?’ His soft voice was concerned, he caressed her satin soft skin with the back of his hand. Charity stared at him as she got stuck in her thoughts, her hair blew slightly in the wind, she was truly breath-taking.
“I just feel like we are going to have to further battles, you know… with Marc Antony, with people who think we shouldn’t be together” She spoke softly and cassius pressed a soft kiss to her forehead, hell would freeze over before he let anything, and he meant anything, get in the way of their marital bliss.
“Nothing will tear us apart” he says and the two stared at each other.
“I just have this feeling in my gut, I don’t know if it’s paranoia and it may be just that, but it feels like things are way too good to be true” she admits.
“I won’t ever let you anyone try to hurt you, my love” Cassius held her close, he stared over her beautiful features, how did he get so lucky to have someone so beautiful.
“I just, I went through a lot and I thought I lost my family, I just have fears that haunt me” she admitted and he held his wife close to him, “I have a fear I will one day lose you the way my mother lost my father” she continues.
The love he had for his wife, it made him determined to never ever let her fears become true, he would protect her with his life, he would wrap her in the blanket of his affection and never let her go. He would fight harder for her then any man would fight for any woman. “I won’t ever let you go without a hell of a fight, you are my world”
