Family
Day 13 is done! I hope you guys enjoy. I wasn’t really sure what to do with this prompt but I had a lot of fun with it in the end hehe. Especially because I love post-reveal, pre-relationship. It’s soo much fun to write haha. Lemme know what you guys think!
AO3
“You’re basically like family to me, you know,” Adrien said, his head in her lap as they sat outside the Place des Vosges. Marinette had been sketching the carousel before he spoke. Her eyes focused on the laughing families as they rode around the fun amusement ride.
After he spoke, though, Marinette immediately dropped her pencil, blinking down at him in shock. Slowly, she put her notebook on the bright green grass. A faint blush brushed across her cheeks as she bit her lip shyly. “T-thank you, kitty. That’s really sweet.”
“No, I’m serious,” he scrambled to sit up, almost hitting her chin in his rush to look her in the eyes, “You were basically my first friend at school and then I find out you’re my partner and best friend too. I don’t know how I got so lucky.”
Marinette’s gaze softened as she looked at Adrien. “Well then, you should know that I consider you a part of my family too. I always have.”
She brushed away the memories of her fanatical daydreams centered around him becoming a part of her family through marriage. After all, surely Adrien wasn’t still dreaming about becoming her husband if he ever thought about that. Marinette cleared her throat before shaking her head lightly. She didn’t want to get too lost in her daydreams.
As she looked back to meet his gaze, Marinette watched as a bright beam slowly spread across Adrien’s face. His eyes sparkled at her happily as he stared at her with a look of pure joy. Her heart thumped loudly in her chest as he asked, “Really?”
“Yes, Adrien! Of course, I consider you a part of my family,” she spoke eagerly, trying to convince him. After Adrien seemed less uncertain, Marinette giggled quietly, “You’ve saved my life enough times that I think it’d be weird if I didn’t.”
His grin seemed to turn almost bashful for a moment as he ducked his head down shyly. Moving to hug him, she was stopped by Adrien letting out a loud groan, flopping back onto the grass with his arms spread wide. “But the rest of my family is the worst. I can barely have a life without them looking over my shoulder every minute of every day.”
“Well, you can always have mine.” Marinette shrugged before her eyes widened. Quickly, she clapped a hand to her mouth, realizing what she just implied. Tensing up, she slowly looked down at Adrien who seemed frozen on the grass. His mouth was hung open and she couldn’t decide whether or not that was a good sign.
Gulping quietly, she was about to backpedal in an attempt to fix the situation when Adrien bolted upright. He grabbed both of her cheeks and began to search her eyes. Now, it was Marinette’s turn to freeze up, feeling her cheeks burn as she noticed how close he had gotten. His emerald green eyes seemed to be asking her a silent question, one she wasn’t quite sure how to answer.
Clearing her throat after Adrien seemed reluctant to let go, she murmured his name, “A-Adrien?”
“Oh, sorry!” he immediately let go, a sheepish grin on his face as he rubbed the back of his neck, “I just... did you mean that, Marinette?”
Sucking in a deep breath of air for courage, she was about to tell him that she was joking when she got caught in his gaze again. He looked so eager, so hopeful, that she just... just couldn’t.
Giving him a small, shaky smile, Marinette said, “Y-yes! I-I mean, I did just say that you were practically family after all!” Trailing off, she laughed loudly, feeling awkward. With a small wince, she prayed that Adrien hadn’t noticed how weird she had just gotten.
Instead of mocking her, though, he simply gave her a soft, sweet smile. He rested one of his hands on hers and squeezed it gently. “Thank you, Marinette. I’d offer you the same but I did just mention how awful my family actually is.”
Her heart raced as tingles danced up her arm from where their hands were connected. How was she meant to function after that?! Why did he have to be so sweet?
Marinette giggled quietly, trying to push down the butterflies that were fluttering loudly in her ears. “It’s alright, Adrien. I completely understand.”
Flipping her hand over, she gave his a tight squeeze. She mentally squealed to herself when he looked away with a pink flush to his cheeks. She just got Adrien to blush! That had to be one of her proudest accomplishments. Besides being Ladybug and saving the city of Paris multiple times, of course.
Moving to stand up, Marinette was shocked to discover that he stood up with her, still not removing his hand from around hers. Clearing her throat, she attempted to joke, “Well, it is getting late, so I suppose we had better get back to our parents.”
“No,” Adrien shook his head with a smug smile, “They’re not our parents yet. Give me a few years first.”
He walked forward but Marinette had just been stunned into a frozen statue. Did he just imply that...? No, Adrien didn’t... could he? Slowly, she turned her head to stare at him. He was simply looking back at her, a mischievous twinkle in his green eyes. Oh, he totally knew what he was doing.
Crossing her arms with a small frown, Marinette muttered, “You know, you should ask me out before proposing.”
Adrien tsked, chuckling quietly. “Technically, you proposed first.”
Choking slightly, Marinette turned a deep shade of red. “T-that wasn’t! I-I mean, I didn’t... I w-woul-”
Before she could catch up to her stammerings, Adrien cut her off by simply stepping forward and pressing his lips to hers gently. Feeling herself practically melt, she was about to kiss back when he pulled away slightly to murmur, “Was that ok?”
“Mhm,” Marinette spoke breathily before pulling him back in for another kiss. Wrapping her arms around him, her heart fluttered as Adrien tugged out her pigtails, running his fingers through her hair. Tilting her head, she deepened the kiss, tightening her grip around him.
Eventually, she pulled back, resting her forehead against his as she murmured, “You have no idea how long I’ve wanted to do that.”
“Yes, I do,” Adrien chuckled, “It’s about as long as I’ve wanted to do that.”
Pulling back to gaze up at him, Marinette felt satisfied upon seeing the glazed look in his eyes. Giggling softly, she reached down to hold his hand again, “I love you.”
“I love you too, Marinette,” Adrien said, squeezing her hand before they both continued their path back to the bakery.

Balcony
Anotherr post-reveal, pre-relationship hehe. Can you tell I reallly like this trope haha? Anywho, lemme know what you think of this chapter <3. Also, stay tuned for another special surprise tonight hehe.
AO3
Marinette climbed up to her balcony, sucking in a deep breath of fresh air. Practically collapsing on her railing, she stared up at the night sky watching as the stars twinkled beautifully in the distance. It had been a long day. Hawkmoth had sent two akumas making her late to two of her classes. Luckily, Alya managed to cover for her so she didn’t get detention but she was still exhausted. Heaving a quiet sigh, she rested her head on her hands, closing her eyes.
A voice broke her peace though, and Marinette screamed, whirling around to face the source. “Long day, princess?”
There, sitting on her deck chair with a slightly sheepish grin was Adrien Agreste. With a hand over her heart, she glared at him. “What are you doing here?! You almost gave me a heart attack!”
He simply shrugged, his sheepish grin turning into an amused one. “I just came to check on you, Marinette. I didn’t mean to scare you.”
“Well you did!” she huffed, crossing her arms over her chest. “How did you even get up here anyway?”
“You know how,” Adrien said, wiggling his eyebrows at her playfully.
Pursing her lips, Marinette rolled her eyes. “You can’t keep coming up here as Chat Noir. One day someone’s going to see you.”
He stood up, giving her a giant grin as he walked towards her before whining rather pitifully, “But, Marinette... that means I won’t be able to see you at the end of the day anymore.”
She giggled, feeling happy for the first time all day. Leave it to Adrien to turn an awful day into a perfect one. With her heart thumping loudly in her chest, she threw herself into his arms, she hugged him tightly. “Thank you, silly kitty. You always manage to cheer me up.”
He chuckled before squeezing her to him tightly. “Always, Marinette.”
With a happy sigh, she leaned back to look into Adrien’s sparkling eyes. Oh, if only she could kiss him right now. It would transform her awful day into the perfect year. Shivering slightly from a particularly powerful breeze, Marinette frowned slightly. “How long have you been up here?”
“Not that long,” Adrien shrugged before pulling off his jacket to drape it around her shoulders. “I came as soon as my fencing lesson was over.”
Her frown deepened as she scrambled to take the jacket off. She tried to ignore how warm and comfortable it felt on her as she shrugged it back off. Speaking rather panickedly, Marinette then tried to put it back on him, “You must be freezing then! Please, put this back on! You have to be colder than me right now.”
He chuckled but put his arms through the holes as she requested. Breathing a sigh of relief upon seeing him back in the warm material, she beamed at him proudly. Adrien smiled back down at her. “I was fine, Marinette, but thanks for being so considerate.”
“You’re welcome,” she chirped before taking another glance at the sky. With a breath of awe, she walked back over to lean against her balcony railing and stare up at the stars. The sky looked so beautiful tonight with the full moon and all the other bright, twinkling lights. She was so focused on the beauty of the scenery that she barely noticed when Adrien came to lean next to her. Marinette turned to look at him once, connecting their gazes before she turned back to look out over Paris. She sighed quietly, a small grin on her face as she listened to the nighttime traffic.
The two sat in a quiet, comfortable silence for a while simply enjoying the other’s presence. Eventually, Adrien broke it by asking, “Do you remember the last time we did this?”
Marinette blinked over at him in confusion. “Did what?”
“This...” he gestured at the two of them before motioning to the moon.
She frowned for a second before realization hit her. Oh, he was talking about the night with the akuma attack from Glaciator. Marinette flushed slightly, remembering that she had blabbed all about her problems with Adrien to Adrien. Stuttering slightly, she gave him a small smile, “Y-yeah, I remember.”
Why was he bringing this up? He had grumbled about his problems with Ladybug to her too so was he trying to embarrass both of them? Instead of ending their conversation there like she hoped, though, Adrien spoke again, “That was a good night.”
Marinette chuckled lightly, skepticism clear in her voice. “Was it?”
“Yeah!” he said brightly, “I got to see you in both sides of the mask that night. And, in the end, I still got to show you your surprise.”
His shoulder bumped lightly against hers and she turned a bright pink. She could still distinctly recall the memory of Chat handing her that red rose with a light kiss on her cheek. Marinette sighed quietly, her grip on the railing tightening slightly. “Yeah, but you weren’t able to come get ice cream with us.”
“What do you mean?” He asked, a light frown on his face.
“You know,” Marinette bit her lip nervously before gesturing at him. “You were busy setting things up as Chat so you couldn’t come hang out with us as Adrien.”
“Wait, wait, wait!” Adrien practically screeched, his head whipping around to face her. “Was I the reason you were sad that day then?”
Her cheeks turned a bright red as she met his eyes. Blinking, she said rather incredulously, “You mean you didn’t know? I thought you had figured it out and that’s why you took me to your spot.”
“No, I obviously didn’t know!” Adrien’s arms gestured around wildly, “I only took you there because you had gotten your heart broken lik-”
Immediately, he stopped, his eyes wide as he stared at her. She shifted uncomfortably under his scrutiny. Quietly, Marinette murmured, “What? What’s wrong?”
“Was I the one who broke your heart?” he whispered, looking at her as if he was the one with a broken heart. Instead of answering, she simply worried her lip between her teeth. Adrien slapped a palm to his forehead, groaning lightly. “Does this mean that I was the boy too?”
“D-don’t worry about it, Adrien. It was a long time ago now and I had pretty much forgotten about it before you brought it up.” Marinette waved it off with a small, nervous chuckle. Why was he so upset about this now? Surely, he would have been more distressed while he was still in love with her.
“Oh my god, I was,” he whispered before groaning again. “I’m such an idiot. If I had figured things out before you had gotten over me, everything could’ve been different.”
Marinette froze, blinking over at him in disbelief. “Hold on, Adrien... what are you talking about? What do you mean before I got over you? You got over me first!”
“No, I didn’t!” He shook his head back at her rather vehemently.
“Wait, wait, wait!” Marinette shouted, her eyes closing as she tried to piece everything together. “Are you trying to tell me that you still haven’t gotten over me?”
Adrien nodded his head rapidly. “Yes! I thought it was obvious.”
“Well, not to me,” she said before throwing her head back with a loud laugh. “We’re such idiots.”
“What do you mean?” He frowned at her, confusion still clear in his eyes.
Marinette took a step closer, taking his hands in hers. “I still haven’t gotten over you either, Adrien.”
“Oh,” he breathed out. “Yeah, we are idiots.”
“So, if I still like you and you still like me... then maybe?” Marinette bit her lower lip, peeking up at him from beneath her lashes.
Instead of answering, Adrien simply cupped her face bringing her into a deep kiss. Squeaking slightly, she responded quickly, running her hands through his hair as tingles raced up and down her spine. Tilting her head, she deepened the kiss as her knees got weaker. His lips were soft and it was everything she ever dreamed it would be. Pulling back with a grin, she murmured, “So are you saying you will be my boyfriend, then?”
“I thought it was obvious.” Adrien chuckled back at her before joining their lips together once again.

However, please do NOT read it unless you’ve seen Gang of Secrets. It definitely has spoilers for that episode!! Also, if you haven’t seen it please go watch it!! It’s my fave s4 episode rn <3
AO3
Marinette groaned, throwing a hand over her eyes as her phone buzzed repeatedly next to her. She had an extremely long day yesterday. Dealing with her duties as Ladybug and trying to keep her friends happy was absolutely exhausting. Shaking her head furiously, she attempted to wake up.
Rather groggily, she groped around for the phone next to her. With a breath of relief when she finally grabbed it, Marinette opened up her messaging app. Certain that it was just Alya asking how she was after the bomb she had just dropped on her yesterday, she was mid-way through typing a reply to her best friend when she glanced at the contact name. Squeaking in surprise, Marinette dropped her phone on her bed.
Hesitantly, she picked it back up, checking to see if it really was the same message as before. Surely she must have just been tired and was imagining everything. When she did double-check, though, Adrien’s name continued to blink up at her. With a quiet gulp, she read his message.
Adrien: Hey Marinette! I just wanted to check up on you after the akuma attack yesterday. It seems like you’ve been going through a lot lately and I just wanted to let you know that I’m always here if you need me 😸.
Choking slightly, Marinette skimmed the message again. Adrien had noticed her! Or, at least he noticed how stressed out she had been lately. Her heart gave a fierce tug as a small smile twitched at her lips for the first time in forever. Quickly, she shook her head at herself. No! There was absolutely no time for love or boys or even friends! Yesterday proved that.
Sniffling quietly, Marinette’s eyes slid over to her new hiding place for the miracle box. Sucking in a deep breath as she once again felt tears brim in her eyes, she quickly finished typing the message she had been going to send to Alya.
Marinette: yep! totally fine! no worries here 😊
Taking the heel of her palm, she fiercely dragged them over her red-rimmed eyes. She had no time for tears either. Who knew when Hawkmoth would be sending the next akuma?
Assuming that would be the end of the conversation, she dropped her phone back onto her bedsheet, hugging her knees to her chest. Slowly, Marinette’s eyes fluttered closed as she tried to calm down. She felt Tikki and some of the other kwamis come around to hug her cheek. A wide smile stretched across her lips as she cuddled them to her delicately. Opening her eyes, she whispered, “Thank you.”
Her phone buzzed once again and she blinked down in confusion at it. Could this be the message she had expected from Alya? With a small frown creasing her brow, she opened the text.
Adrien: You know, I have a friend who acts the exact same way. I don’t think I believe either of you though.
Adrien: It’s alright not to be okay, Marinette. Especially after a day like yesterday and if you don’t want to talk about it, we can always talk about something else?
Adrien: You need to know that there are people who care about you 😊
A shaky, happy sob escaped her before she could stop it. Her hand wobbled slightly as Marinette covered her mouth. Rereading his text message, her stomach filled with butterflies. This was exactly why she fell in love with him. His unwavering kindness and support made her feel like she was the greatest person on Earth.
“Thank you, Adrien. I really needed that,” she whispered. With trembling fingers, she typed a reply to him. Biting her lip to contain her smile, Marinette fell back onto her bed.
Marinette: ty adrien and if its alright with you can we maybe not talk about it? how was your weekend
Adrien: I had a pretty good weekend! I got to see a movie and I went to the pool!
Trying to brush aside the wave of familiarity that hit her upon reading his text, she shifted slightly on her bed. Nibbling her lip, she debated whether or not she should text him her next question. Waving a hand in the air, she decided that she was just being paranoid. After all, there was no way.
Marinette: that sounds awesome! what movie did you go see?
Adrien: Oh, I went to go see the new romantic comedy that came out!
A choked gasp escaped Marinette as she read that text. It had to be a coincidence! Maybe he went with Kagami or by himself. Gnawing on her lip, she hesitated before sending her next text. She needed to know...
Marinette: really? it looked pretty cheesy to me but did you guys like it at least?
She held her breath as she awaited his next message. Her heart thudded loudly in her ears. This could be the start of everything.
Adrien: Well, honestly, I didn’t get to see much of it haha 😅
Adrien: The girl I went with thought it was cheesy too
Immediately, she dropped the phone, scrambling away from it to suck in a deep breath of air. Letting out a startled scream, her eyes darted to Tikki, pleading with kwami. Nervously, she stuttered, “W-what a-am I supposed to do? I-I d-don’t...”
Trailing off, her kwami gave her a soft, sweet smile. “It’s up to you, Marinette. You’re the guardian now. You make the rules. Just like you did with Alya.”
Her head bobbed up and down before a determined glint shined in her eyes. That’s right! She was the guardian now and she had no plans of taking either her or Adrien’s miraculous away. Besides, having two people she could trust her entire life with was worth any potential fear and anxiety. Picking up her phone, Marinette dialed his number, tapping her fingers against her arm impatiently.
As soon as Adrien picked up, she spoke quickly, rushing through her words, “The girl you were with when you went to go see the movie, did you guys leave to go swimming right afterward?”
“W-what?” Adrien stuttered and she could practically see his green eyes open wide with shock, “Marinette, what are you talking about?”
With a deep, calming breath, she slowed down. “After you guys left the movie theatre, you went swimming didn’t you?”
“Well, yeah, I guess we did. But, Marinette, how do you know that?” He spoke with confusion clear in his voice.
She giggled lightly, feeling light and safe for the first time in ages. It was him. It’s been him this whole time. Quietly, Marinette murmured, “Because it was me that you went swimming with, silly kitty.”
“No, I didn’t go with you. I went with...” Adrien trailed off. A slow smile twitched at her lips as she imagined him connecting the dots just like she had. Hesitatingly, he asked, “W-what did you just call me?”
Marinette hummed lightly, a small smirk on her lips. “I said silly kitty. Or am I only supposed to call you that when we’re in costume.”
A thud came from the receiver and she frowned in confusion. After sitting for a few more moments in silence, Marinette murmured, “H-hello?”
No response came from her phone and she nibbled on her bottom lip. Did the wifi fail or did he hang up on her? Pulling the phone away from her ear, she saw that they were still connected. With a quiet sigh, she hung up the call. Just as she was about to call back, a loud, insistent knocking came from the trapdoor above her bed.
Screaming in shock, Marinette stared up at the hatch in concern. Slowly, she opened it, squeaking once again when Chat Noir fell rather ungracefully onto her bed. Frowning, she muttered, “Chat Noir?”
In a second, she was wrapped up in a tight embrace. Her eyes widened before she threw her arms around his neck, burying her face in his shoulder. A bright grin bloomed across her face as she giggled. If she had any doubts before that he wasn’t Adrien, they were absolutely gone now. Suddenly, so much made sense now.
Pulling back slowly, Marinette stared up into his shimmering, green eyes. With a light chuckle, she asked, “Did you really just drop everything to come over?”
“What did you expect me to do?” Chat’s arms waved exasperatedly in the air. “You can’t just drop a bombshell on me like that and then not expect me to want to see you. Did you really have to do it over the phone?”
Marinette threw her head back as she laughed loudly. “Well, you revealed yourself over text! I didn’t want to just drop everything and slam into your bedroom window as Ladybug.”
A bright blush lit up his face before he ducked his head down shyly. Almost silent, he muttered, “You could have done that, you know. I wouldn’t have minded.”
Now it was her turn to flush deeply. A few scattered daydreams of doing just that with a few kisses intermixed filled her thoughts. Shaking her head, she cast those dreams aside and focused on the superhero that was still in her bedroom. Giving him an adoring smile, she playfully pushed his nose back. “I’m sure you wouldn’t have.”
He looked at her so softly and it was so reminiscent of Adrien that Marinette had no idea how she hadn’t figured it out sooner. Carefully, he reached out to take her hand and gave it a soft squeeze. “How are you doing with being the Guardian, then? I know how hard your day was yesterday.”
Tears brimmed in her eyes again before she threw herself back into his arms. “Better now that you’re here. It’s been so hard!” she murmured.
He hugged her back tightly, whispering, “I’ll always be here, Marinette.”
“I know, Adrien. I know,” she squeezed him back with a quiet whisper, “Thank you.”
“Always, Marinette. Always.”
She sunk into his embrace, letting her worries melt away for a few minutes. There’d be plenty of time to talk, freak out, and strategize later. Right now, she just needed this.

AU
Day 1 of Adrienette April is here!! Yayay, I’m sooo excited for this month. I love my babies! Especially now that we’re going to get more episodes. I hope you guys like this lil chapter <3
AO3
“I’m just saying Marinette, he’s a really good guy once you actually give him a chance,” Alya rolled her eyes at her best friend after she had just finished her latest rant against Adrien.
“And I think you’re insane for actually giving him the time of day,” Marinette rolled her eyes right back. She crossed her arms in front of her chest as she and Alya strolled closer towards their school, “Adrien Agreste is a jerk and that’s all he’ll ever be.”
Her friend snickered at her, “I can’t believe you’re still hung up about the gum situation.”
“He never even apologized for that Alya!” Marinette shook her head furiously as she clenched her eyes shut tight, “Plus he’s friends with Chloé! He’s worthy of never being my friend just for that!”
Alya let out another quiet laugh, pausing on the first step of the school when she caught sight of blonde hair bounding out of his limo with a cheerful wave. She bit her lip to contain her smile and leaned over to hiss in Marinette’s ear, “Don’t look now but I think sunshine is coming towards us.”
“No!” she gasped in horror, her eyes popping open before looking at her best friend with absolute misery as she whimpered a quiet, “Hide me.”
“No can do,” Alya chuckled, waving back at Adrien as he approached them.
Marinette grimaced before shuffling backward slightly, intending to hide herself as best she could behind her best friend as the model approached them. She groaned to herself as she looked at those gleaming, emerald green eyes.
“Hey Alya!” he gave her a bright, beaming smile before turning to the girl hiding slightly behind her with a more neutral expression. Adrien gave a quick nod before murmuring, “Marinette.”
She gave a small, sarcastic smile back, “Adrien. Whatever did we do to deserve your presence?”
His lips twitched slightly, a faint look of amusement dancing in his eyes, “Nothing but being your usual, smart, charming selves.”
Marinette’s brow furrowed a bit at that. Unease ate away at her slightly as she was unused to receiving compliments from Adrien. Turning away from him, she looked out over the bustling, Parisian streets in an attempt to hide the small blush she was sure was blooming across her cheeks.
There was a small lull in the conversation as the three of them stood in slightly awkward silence. Luckily, Alya cleared her throat and Adrien quickly snapped his gaze over to her and away from the girl standing next to her. With a knowing smirk, she asked, “So why did you come over here, then, Adrien? If not just to come over and say hi to our usual, charming, smart selves?”
“Oh,” he said with a sheepish smile, rubbing the back of his neck, “I actually wanted to ask if you had the notes to yesterday morning’s lecture. I couldn’t make it because I was in a photo shoot.”
A small scoff came from Marinette’s lips as both Adrien and Alya turned to look at her. Her gaze was still focused on the street below them and Alya pursed her lips as a mischievous look entered her gaze, “You know who else missed the lecture yesterday?” She nudged her best friend with a sly grin before looking back at Adrien, “You two weren’t together, were you?”
“What?!” Adrien and Marinette shouted at the same time, both of their gazes snapping to Alya.
“I’m only saying,” she shrugged her shoulders casually, “You two seem to miss the exact same lessons at the exact same time.”
Marinette’s mouth dropped open in both shock and offense. Was Alya still trying to get her to like Adrien? Because that ship had sailed a long time ago. Besides, the only reason that she missed that class was because there was an akuma attack. A tiny, dreamy smile tugged at her lips as her mind drifted towards the boy she actually wanted to spend time with. Her partner, Chat Noir.
There was no time to think about that now, though. Shaking her head furiously, she glanced at Adrien who was surprisingly staring at her with what seemed like a pink flush across his cheeks. Feeling her own face get hot, Marinette dragged her gaze away from the pair of dazzling, green eyes to her friend. She cleared her throat as she began to ramble, “No, no, no! You know why I was gone! I’m always late to class, b-because I wake up too late.”
“Uh-huh,” Alya dragged the word out, her hazel eyes glimmering mischievously, “I’m sure.”
“S-so, um, do you mind sharing the notes with me?” Adrien jumped back into the conversation, scratching the back of his neck as he avoided both of the girl’s curious gazes.
Alya nodded her head, before gesturing inside the school so that they made it to class before the final bell rang. She dug around her backpack for a moment before pulling out her notebook. As they began crossing the main hall of the school, she turned to Adrien with one raised eyebrow, “Why didn’t you just ask Nino for the notes? You two are still sitting together, right?”
Panic filled his eyes as his gaze quickly darted back towards Marinette who was walking slightly behind them with a small pout. This didn’t go unnoticed by Alya whose eyebrow rose slightly higher at the glance. Adrien’s gaze quickly returned to her, however, a sheepish smile on his lips as he spoke quietly, “Yeah, we are. I just saw you and Marinette first so I figured I’d ask you guys before Nino. Plus, I can never read his handwriting.”
Alya chuckled back at him before flipping through her notes to find the right page, “Yeah, neither can I,” she said amusedly before handing him the book cheerfully.
“Thanks!” Adrien chirped, shooting one last quick look back at Marinette before rushing off to their first class.
Alya watched him go fondly before slowing down slightly to match her pace with her best friend. Quickly, the pout left Marinette’s face as she beamed over at her, “I thought he’d never leave.”
“Girl you’re seriously crazy. That boy is obviously just trying to get you to like him,” she shook her head with a roll of her eyes.
Marinette scrunched her nose up, “And I think you’re seriously crazy. Adrien and I are never going to be friends. I don’t know why you keep trying to set us up.”
Alya sighed frustratedly. Sometimes her best friend could be a little too blind. Anyone with eyes would know that the only reason Adrien even came to them in the first place was so that he could have a chance to talk with Marinette. The boy had one of the highest grades in their class, there was no way he needed her notes.
“Anyway,” Marinette continued, ignoring Alya’s helpless sigh as she bounced slightly on her toes, “Can we talk about the recent photos you added onto the Ladyblog?”
Alya gave a fond chuckle as Marinette began ranting about how good Chat Noir looked in the latest pictures she uploaded. They had just slid into their seats as her best friend began to gush about how perfect his hair looked. Marinette’s tirade got cut short as Adrien spun around in his seat, his jaw dropping open in surprise, “You like Chat Noir?!”
“Were you eavesdropping?!” She shot him an offended look, her eyes narrowed with fiery hatred.
Adrien flushed quickly, his eyes widening. He ducked his head down and then murmured quietly, “Sorry, I-I couldn’t help but overhear.” Slowly though he lifted his head back up to stare at her with a look of determination, “But you do like Chat Noir then?”
Marinette bristled, “Of course I do! Who wouldn’t?”
A smile of wonder seemed to dance across Adrien’s lips as he gazed up at her, “Well, I just thought that he wouldn’t be your type.”
Her mouth flapped open and close quickly, her face slowly turning the shade of a tomato, “I-I d-don’t like him like that,” she murmured quietly, tapping her fingers together nervously.
“Yes you do,” Alya chortled, “You bring him up every chance you get.”
“Shut up! No I don’t! He’s just my favorite superhero, ok?” Marinette hissed, shoving the girl sitting next to her as her face turned an even darker shade of red.
Curiously, Adrien’s face also turned a light shade of pink as his smile grew even wider. He then chirped rather cheerfully up at them, “Well, I’m glad he’s your favorite Marinette. Ladybug’s my favorite, like the most of Paris.”
At that, Marinette’s head quickly whipped back towards him from where she had previously been glaring at her best friend, her mouth falling open, “You like Ladybug?!”
His smile turned into a small smirk as he repeated her words back to her, “Of course I do. Who wouldn’t?”
A small giggle fell from Marinette’s lips before she quickly cut it off, looking almost as though she was shocked at herself. She recovered fast, however, turning back to him with mischief dancing in her eyes, “Well, I just thought she wouldn’t be your type.”
At that, both of them laughed together, their eyes sparkling with mischief and almost a look of knowing. As Alya watched them, she shook her head at herself. Those two were made for each other, even if they didn’t know it yet.

Best Friends
Day four of Adrienette April is finished woot woot!! I hope you guys enjoy this lil bit of post-reveal pre-relationship bc it’s one of my fave tropes hehee. Lemme know what you think <3! Also I can’t wait for April 10th now to watch Lies. I missed miraculous sooo much :D :D
AO3
Marinette was stretched out across her chaise. A book was in one of her hands as she skimmed through the pages lazily. Adrien was sprawled on her lap as she distractedly ran her fingers through his hair. Every so often, she would put her book down to take a small peek at the boy who was smiling happily, nuzzling into her hand. She had to bite down on her lower lip to fight against her own grin that was threatening to beam across her face.
They had revealed their identities a few months ago after they had both stumbled into the same alleyway to detransform. To say it had been a surprise was an understatement. Knowing that it had been Adrien flirting with her the whole time was something Marinette couldn’t even process for days.
Once she had found out, of course, her feelings for him grew exponentially, especially when they began to hang out every chance they got. Knowing that the love of her life was also her best friend filled her with euphoria. Unfortunately for her, though, Adrien’s feelings must have stagnated because their relationship didn’t change. They were still just friends, regardless of how often she wished they could be something more. Marinette let out a quiet, forlorn sigh as she twirled a strand of Adrien’s hair around her finger. Luckily, his voice broke through her melancholic thoughts with a statement that made her heart tug painfully in her chest.
“You know you’re my best friend, right?” Adrien stated plainly, blinking up at her with a pair of beautiful, wide, earnest eyes.
Her fingers paused in their tracks and he made a quiet noise of discontent before nudging her hand with his head. Giggling softly, Marinette resumed their previous dance through his hair, putting her book to the side. Looking down at him with a happy grin, she murmured, “Of course I do, kitty. You’re my best friend too.” “So we can tell each other anything then, right?” He asked her eagerly.
“Mhm,” Marinette hummed back with a small chuckle, “I mean we already know each other’s secret identities so I don’t really see the point in us hiding anything else.”
She ignored the twinge of guilt that ate away at her. She was still keeping something from him. But at this point, she was not ready to ruin the wonderful friendship they had created together. Even if she longed to lean down and connect their lips together and find out if Adrien’s mouth was as soft and sweet as it looked. For a brief moment, Marinette wondered if he would be alright with just a peck before she forcefully shoved those thoughts back into the recesses of her mind.
“Of course,” Adrien nodded before he scrambled out of her lap. He left Marinette with her hand still hovering in the air as a shocked look entered her eyes. Lowering her arm back down, he began to speak again, “So if I ask you something right now, will you answer?”
“Uh, I’ll try my best too.” She gave him a wide, awkward smile, rubbing her arm as she shifted into a more comfortable position.
“Perfect!” Adrien beamed back at her before he seemed to turn slightly shy. Looking at him curiously as his mood completely changed, Marinette watched as he glanced away from her. He rubbed the back of his neck before murmuring, “Do you remember Glaciator?”
A small crease furrowed her brow before she nodded slowly. Nibbling on her lip, she wondered where he was going with this. Of course she remembered Glaciator. Looking back on it, her heart filled with both pain and regret. While she had still been hung up on Adrien missing their date, she had missed the fact that her kitty had been waiting for her.
If only she had gone to that meeting. Maybe if she had, she would have been able to accept Chat’s rose and feelings and saved them a lot of heartache. Still, it was much too late for that line of thinking. Adrien was over her now and she was okay with that.
“That day you told me you had gotten your heart broken and you were in love with someone else,” Adrien spoke determinedly, making her squirm uncomfortably.
Why was he bringing up the past like this? Did he know? Was he trying to let her down easily? Anxiously, Marinette bit down on her lip as she waited for him to get to the point.
“W-who was it that broke your heart that day?” His words made her wince, her mind racing as she scrambled for an answer.
I can’t exactly say it was him! Marinette screamed at her mind in frustration. Taking a deep breath, she slowly spoke, “D-does it really matter? He moved on and I’m alright with that.”
Adrien frowned deeply before seemingly murmuring to himself, “So it wasn’t Luka after all then?”
There was a small pause in the conversation as they both stared at each other with wide eyes. Marinette desperately prayed that he wouldn’t ask the question she could see already forming on his lips.
Almost in an act of defiance, Adrien said the very words that she had desperately hoped he wouldn’t. “Then who?”
Sucking in another deep, tremulous breath of air, Marinette’s eyes darted around the room. Finding no answers, she decided to settle for telling him a small portion of the truth, “Well, I-I may have, um, been slightly disappointed that our friend wasn’t able to join us for ice cream.”
“Why couldn’t your friend come?” Adrien’s frown furrowed even deeper.
Her lips pursed as annoyance filled her briefly. Did he really want her to spell it out for him? How humiliating. With a small gulp, Marinette muttered quietly, not moving her gaze away from her bedroom floor, “I don’t know. His father can be pretty strict so I think he wouldn’t let him out or something.”
“Oh,” Adrien said and she could almost see the look of realization cross his face as he breathed out the same word once again, “Oh.”
With an awkward laugh, Marinette moved to get off the chaise, ready for him to make fun of her, “Y-yeah, anyway I should go do homework now so I gues-”
“Hold on,” he spoke, catching her wrist gently. Finally, she turned to look at him and saw confusion instead of a look of disgust. Adrien hesitated before murmuring quietly, “Me?”
“I-it wasn’t your fault though!” She rushed to explain, “Don’t worry I completely understand why you couldn’t make it!”
“Marinette, that’s not...” he began before shaking his head, standing up to face her. His hand remained on her wrist and her eyes shot down to it before quickly looking back up at him. Adrien squeezed her wrist softly before, “Was I really the one who broke your heart that day?”
Marinette squeaked loudly, squeezing her eyes shut. She shook her head furiously, refusing to answer that question. A pair of soft, warm fingers trailed down her cheek and she leaned into Adrien’s hand with a quiet sigh.
“Please, Marinette,” he murmured into her ear, “Please tell me the truth. This could mean everything.”
Her eyes fluttered open and she was struck by his emerald eyes staring into hers adoringly. For the first time in a while, she could see love and adoration brimming within them. Feeling her heart thump wildly in her chest, Marinette stuttered, “I-it was y-you. A-Adrien, it’s always been you.”
His mouth fell open before his face practically lit up. He let out a loud whoop before picking her up and twirling her around the room. She squeaked once again, her arms wrapping around him before he put her back down. He beamed down at her before whispering, “It’s the same for me, Marinette. It always has. In and out of the suit, I love you.”
“What?!” She practically shrieked, “N-no, that can’t be. You moved on. That’s why you’ve stopped flirting with me.”
Adrien looked at her with a deep frown, “Stopped flirting with you? Marinette, I spend every last second of my free time with you. We just spent an hour cuddling on your chaise. If anyone stopped flirting it was you.”
Marinette bristled, “I did not stop flirting! We may have spent the last hour cuddling but I was the one running my fingers through your hair that whole time!”
She poked a finger in his chest, glaring up at him. Instead of arguing back, Adrien simply grabbed her hand, spreading her fingers across his chest with a small chuckle, “Alright, so neither of us stopped flirting then.”
“T-that’s right!” she stammered, feeling a dark blush settle on her cheeks.
“And if neither of us stopped flirting, then that means both of us still like each other, correct?” Adrien asked with a sly smirk twitching at his lips.
“O-oh, y-yeah, I guess,” Marinette stuttered again, ducking her head away from his gaze towards the floor.
A hand cupped her cheek and tilted her head back up to face him, though, as Adrien smiled softly down at her. His thumb stroked gently across her face as he leaned in slowly, “So can I do this then?”
“Uh-huh,” Marinette nodded dumbly, still feeling dazed and confused.
Their lips connected and she felt her heart race as she finally realized she was kissing Adrien. It was perfect. Slowly, her hands reached up to bury themselves in his hair as his grip on her waist tightened. She tilted her head to deepen the kiss and for the first time in a while, she felt complete.
Eventually, they both pulled away and Marinette felt a lovestruck smile light up her face as she nuzzled into Adrien’s chest. He chuckled, and her eyes fluttered closed when he murmured quietly in her ear, “Does this mean I can finally say you’re my girlfriend now?”
Marinette tilted her head back to laugh loudly, “Yes, kitty, I’m your girlfriend now.”
Her thumb reached up to caress his cheek before she pulled him down into another kiss. With a happy sigh, she couldn’t help but smile into their kiss. Everything was absolutely perfect.

Truth or Dare
Day 11 is done!! Sorry this one’s kinda late to I was moving into my new house! Anywho, I hope you guys enjoy this lil one-sided reveal hehe. Lemme know what you think <3.
AO3
“Marinette, truth or dare?” Alya asked, the smirk present in her voice.
Marinette, Nino, Alya, and Adrien were all in her room as they all finally had free time to hang out. Luckily, they had all even been able to have a sleepover together. As it got later and later, however, they began to play more party games which had led her to be in the situation she was in now.
Marinette gulped quietly, eyes darting over to Adrien’s smiling face before looking back at her best friend. Alya’s smirk grew even wider after she watched her reaction and Marinette squirmed uncomfortably. She knew exactly what her friend would do if she picked dare.
Her cheeks turning a bright red, she murmured, “Truth.”
Alya tsked as she rolled her eyes fondly. With a quiet laugh, she pouted and said, “You’re no fun, but fine.”
Marinette felt herself relax as she prepared herself for Alya’s question. Surely whatever it was couldn’t be as bad as making a fool of herself in front of Adrien. She couldn’t stop herself from grinning with that thought. Unfortunately for her, Alya’s eyes narrowed at the sight.
“Alright, so Marinette, have you ever kissed anyone?” Her smug smirk appeared once again.
She opened her mouth before snapping it closed quickly. Ducking her head, she felt her face turn an even darker shade of red. Obviously, the best choice here was to say no, she hadn’t had her first kiss. But... that would be lying. She had kissed someone before. In fact, she had kissed the same person twice. To be fair, Marinette couldn’t exactly remember the second kiss but that didn’t mean it hadn’t happened.
Nibbling her lip, she mumbled, “Yes.”
“What?!” Alya shouted excitedly, “Who?! When?! How come you never told me?”
“U-um, that’s another four questions and I already answered my truth so it’s my turn,” Marinette turned to Nino, ignoring the looks everyone was giving her. “N-Nino, truth or dare?”
“Dare.” He grinned at her rather lazily.
She hummed, tapping her finger against her chin. “Hmm, I dare you... to beatbox for us, right now.”
Nino shrugged before starting off with a slow beat. Gradually, he picked up volume and speed, making everyone smile and nod their heads along to the music. Eventually, when he finished, they all clapped with a loud cheer and he gave a small bow of his head in acknowledgment. Opening his mouth to ask the next person a question, he was cut off by someone clearing their throat.
His eyes turned to Alya who was staring at him pointedly and his eyes lit up in recognition. Nino gave her a subtle smirk before asking, “Alya, truth or dare?”
“Dare. Come on babe, do you even need to ask?” She rolled her eyes.
Nino gave a quiet chuckle at her response. “Alright, I dare you to give me a kiss then.”
Alya rolled her eyes even as she giggled quietly. Quickly, she leaned over to press a gentle kiss against her boyfriend’s lips. Adrien and Marinette both protested together loudly when neither of the two seemed to want to pull away from their kiss.
“Gross!” Adrien scrunched his nose up in disgust even as he gave a quiet chuckle.
“Get a room!” Marinette threw a pillow at the two of them, which finally got them to pull apart as they laughed loudly.
Alya stuck her tongue out at her best friend before a devilish smirk lit up her face. “Ok then, Marinette, truth or dare?”
Shoot. This was a lose-lose situation. She could either say dare and get stuck having to either kiss Adrien or do something equally embarrassing. If she said truth, though, she’d have to reveal who she kissed. With a quiet groan, Marinette said, “Truth.”
Alya giggled mischievously. “Who did you share that kiss with, Marinette?”
Her heart thumped loudly in her chest. Of course, she had to lie. There was no way she could admit that Chat Noir was her first kiss. Alya would probably have a heart attack if she said that. Giggling nervously, her gaze darted to the side. “I-it was L-Luka, obviously.”
“Nope.” Alya shook her head smugly, “I talked to Juleka after your date and she said that your kiss got interrupted because of an akuma attack. Come on, Marinette, this is a game of truth or dare. There’s no need to lie here.”
Marinette practically choked as Alya called her bluff. She had not expected that! What was she supposed to say now?! Her mind raced as she tried to come up with an answer of any other boy that might have kissed her. An answer never came to her, though, as all her thoughts had frozen up.
Tensing up, Marinette blurted out, “It was Chat Noir, ok?!”
“What?!”
She had expected a loud outburst from Alya, but it was actually Adrien who looked the most shocked and shouted the loudest. Her eyes blinked in surprise as she stared at her crush who was looking back at her with his jaw practically touching the floor.
Marinette turned a deep shade of red, snapping her gaze from him to gaze down at the floor. Carefully and nervously, she tucked a stray strand of hair back into her pigtails. Clearing her throat lightly, she said, “S-so, Adrien, truth or dare?”
“Nuh-uh, Marinette, you can’t just drop a bomb on us like that!” Alya shook her head frantically as she stared at her eagerly. “How did you manage to kiss one of Paris’ superheroes!?”
“Yeah, I’d like to know too,” Adrien chimed in, nodding his head as a small frown creased his brow.
Even Nino stared at her with interest as her flush turned even darker. Slapping her hands to her cheeks, Marinette tried to calm her racing heart. She couldn’t tell them the truth and explain that she had to save him from Dark Cupid. That would risk her identity and their safety. Oh, why had she ever agreed to this game?! At the very least, she should have just said no when Alya asked if she had her first kiss yet.
Groaning quietly, Marinette turned to her best friend. “You remember Weredad right, Alya?”
“Mhm,” she nodded with a frustrated sigh. “I couldn’t get here fast enough to record anything for the Ladyblog.”
“Right, well...,” Marinette tapped her fingers together anxiously as she tried to come up with a lie that wouldn’t be too far from the truth, “That day, I-I um, confessed my feelings for Chat.”
Oh my god, what am I saying?! If I manage to fumble my way out of this, I am never playing Truth or Dare again. Why did I do this?! Alya’s going to know I’m lying, Marinette screamed at herself mentally. She wished she could tug harshly at her pigtails, scolding herself for ever mentioning the kiss in the first place.
“What?!” Alya stared at her in confusion. “Why would you...? I mean, I thought you only liked you-know-who.”
Alya’s gaze subtly darted to a suspiciously red-faced Adrien who looked like he just got hit by a truck. Frowning slightly at his reaction, Marinette shifted uncomfortably. With a nervous laugh, she said, “I-I do! Chat just appeared at the right moment at the right time! A-and really who doesn’t have at least a small crush on him?!”
Alya and Nino both nodded their heads at that. Adrien wheezed quietly and all of them looked over to stare at him. His mouth had fallen open as he blinked at all three of them. He then spoke up with a small stutter, “B-but aren’t you two dating?”
“Yeah, but it’s Chat Noir,” Nino laughed, “Besides, dude you must have a pretty big crush on him too. You always turn red whenever anyone so much as mentions him.”
“I-I that’s not true!” Adrien protested even as his face turned darker.
Alya, Nino, and Marinette all burst into laughter at that. As Adrien continued to frown and pout at them, their laughs simply grew louder. Eventually, they straightened up and Marinette blew out a quiet breath of relief. It seemed like everyone had forgotten about her answer.
Just when she was about to suggest that they turn out the lights to try and get some sleep, Adrien’s voice spoke up, “But Marinette, you still haven’t answered the question. When did you kiss Chat Noir?”
Her face flushed as she snapped her gaze over to her crush. Surprisingly, he was staring at her with a determined glint in his green eyes. Why was he so interested in her answer? With a small frown, Marinette nibbled on her lip before murmuring shyly, “R-right. W-well, um, after I confessed my feelings, I may have given him a small kiss on the lips. Nothing happened though! W-we agreed that it’d be better that we remain friends, though! He is a superhero after all.” She rushed to clarify with a nervous giggle after Alya whistled loudly.
“Good for you, Marinette. I didn’t know you had that kind of confidence after seeing you stammer like a nervous chicken around your actual crush.” Alya snickered before giving her a sly wink.
Quickly, Marinette hushed her, shooting a pointed glance at Adrien. With a loud, awkward laugh, she then said, “Right! Well, I’m glad that’s cleared up now, I-I suppose we should all go to bed so we can get some sleep!”
“But Marinette, your story isn’t true. That didn’t actually happen.”
For the second time that day, Adrien’s voice cut into her pleas to get them to sleep. Her head whipped around to stare at him as he shook his head with a light frown. Feeling a brush of indignance brush through her, Marinette pursed her lips. He was right, of course. But he couldn’t possibly know that. Unless...
No! She shoved that distracting thought back into the corner of her mind like she usually did. If she began to think about that, she’d surely go insane. A tight smile forming across her face, Marinette said. “W-well, it did. Papa even got akumatized because of it. He saw the kiss and was surprised that we agreed to be only friends. That’s why the battle ended so soon, because Chat was already there.”
She turned to look at Alya who was nodding her head along to the lie. Phew, at least her best friend believed her. Relaxing slightly, Marinette turned to look at Adrien who was still staring at her in disbelief.
He shook his head once again before speaking, “Yeah, Chat Noir was there and all but you two didn’t kiss.”
Feeling a prickle of annoyance, Marinette pursed her lips before snapping slightly. “And just how do you know this, Adrien? You weren’t at the bakery when he got akumatized and like Alya said the battle was over too fast for anyone to get there.”
Immediately, he flushed as his eyes widened. His mouth opened and closed a few times before he finally chuckled nervously and said, “You’re right, Marinette. I don’t know why I said that. Also, you’re right about going to sleep now. I have a photoshoot in the morning.”
With that, Adrien flopped into his sleeping bag and pretended to snore. Marinette, Alya, and Nino all stared at him in bewilderment. Finally, Nino broke the tense atmosphere by shrugging and relaxing into his own sleeping bag. Giving Alya an awkward smile, Marinette stood up to go and turn off the light.
As she slipped into her covers, she shot one last glance at her partner’s tense rigid form. A slight smile tugged at her lips as she heard his fake snores. After that reaction, not even she could pretend anymore. Adrien was Chat Noir.
Biting down hard on her lip, Marinette tossed around ideas about how to let him know that she knew. Finally relaxing when she realized that they had a patrol tomorrow and she could simply tell him then, her eyes slowly fluttered closed. Soon. Soon, I’ll tell him, she told herself as her smile grew ever wider.

You’re Beautiful
Day 19 is finisheeddd!! Yayayay!! I hope you guys like this chapter :). It’s something I hope we see in the show but we probably won’t lololol. Anywho, I hope you have a great rest of your week <3. Lemme know if you like this chapter :)
AO3
“Have I ever told you how beautiful you are, Marinette?” Adrien said with a lovestruck sigh. His green eyes were practically giant hearts as he gazed at her adoringly. It would have been the best day of her life. If it hadn’t been for the love akuma that struck Adrien in the back with an arrow that caused him to fall in love with the first person he saw.
Marinette’s heart sunk in her chest as she stared at him with despair. What she wouldn’t give to hear him say that for real. Chewing on her lip, her gaze darted to the side. “O-oh, no y-you haven’t said that before.”
“Really? I can’t believe I haven’t. I’ve certainly thought about it a lot.” he frowned before his face lit up. “But that doesn’t matter anymore! I can just tell you every day I see you. Marinette, you’re beautiful.”
It’s not real. He doesn’t mean a word of what he’s saying. Keep it together! A nervous giggle escaped her lips as she wondered how she was going to get out of this mess. Tugging on her pigtails, she said, “You, um, said it already.”
“I did?” Adrien paused, looking confused before he shrugged. “Well, it’s still true.”
Slapping a palm to her forehead, Marinette shook her head furiously. Groaning at the fact that her greatest fantasy just turned into her worst nightmare, she resolved to fix everything. With a frustrated sigh, she lifted her head out of her palms, giving Adrien a determined look. “Don’t worry Adrien, I’m going to fix this.”
“Fix what?” His head tilted to the side adorably. His eyes blinked at her curiously as a small, smitten smile remained fixed on his lips.
Marinette reached out, taking his hand in hers as she squeezed it delicately. “You. I’m going to fix you and everyone else so that we never have to talk about this again.”
“Can I kiss you now?” Adrien replied, his gaze darting from her eyes down to her lips. His grip on her hand tightened as he stepped closer to her.
Gulping loudly, she shoved the butterflies away as quickly as she could. This wasn’t Adrien. He wouldn’t say any of this. Gritting her teeth, Marinette was ready to deck the akuma as soon as she transformed.
Reluctantly, she wiggled her hand out from under his grip, wincing as he looked at her dejectedly. Sucking in a deep breath, she moved a few steps away from him. “We need to get to safety, Adrien. There’s still an akuma on the loose.”
“And then you’ll kiss me?” His dejected expression suddenly brightened again as he beamed at her.
Swallowing the lump in her throat, Marinette once again had to calm her racing heart. He was really making it hard on her, wasn’t he? Clenching her fists, she slowly shook her head. “W-we can’t... Adrien, you’re not in your right mind.”
“Not in my right mind?” He frowned. “What do you mean?”
Oh god, she couldn’t do this. Why did she have to be the one to tell the love of her life all the reasons why they couldn’t kiss? Her nails dug into her palms and she welcomed the dull sting. Shaking her head, Marinette felt her lip quiver as she whispered, “Any other day, Adrien and I would gladly say yes. But you got hit by the akuma and now I need to snap you out of it because you don’t feel this way about me. And I really hope you forget all this afterwards because if you don’t I might just die of embarrassment.”
Adrien’s frown deepened. “Marinette, you’re not making any sense right now. Of course I feel like this about you. I always have.”
She growled, her frustration growing. Pursing her lips, she spoke rather forcefully, “No you don’t. And I really have to go now.”
Turning around, Marinette headed for the exit to the empty classroom they were in. Angrily, she swiped away one of the tears that escaped from her eyes. Hopefully, Chat Noir was there by now and she could get this over with quickly.
Before she could take another step, however, an arm reached out, tugging her back into a warm embrace. She squeaked, her mouth dropping open in shock as she looked up at Adrien who was gazing at her in both concern and a little bit of annoyance.
“Where are you going?” he said, his grip on her tightening, “There’s an akuma out there. You need to stay safe. And what makes you think you know more about my feelings than I do?”
Marinette scoffed, pushing herself out of his embrace. She shivered slightly after she stepped out of his warm arms and she ignored the pout he sent her. With an angry huff, she spoke rather loudly as her arms crossed against her chest, “Right now, a lot more. And I need to go because you’ve been... hit with an akuma...”
Slowly, her arms dropped to her sides as she trailed off, an idea popping into her head. With a quiet swallow, she peeked up at Adrien from beneath her lashes. True love’s kiss could break the spell... and right now he truly loved her. If it worked with Chat before, perhaps it could work with Adrien. Taking a deep breath, Marinette carefully walked over to him, chewing on her lip nervously.
“Adrien, please forgive me for this,” she whispered, clenching her eyes shut as she stopped directly in front of him.
“F-forgive you for what?” he asked, his voice taking on a higher pitch. Her eyes opened as she looked up into his nervous, green ones.
Not responding, Marinette simply wrapped her arms around his neck. Standing up on her tip-toes, she leaned forward to plant a quick peck on Adrien’s lips. He froze and just as she was about to pull away, hoping that she had broken the akuma’s hold over him, Adrien’s arms wrapped around her waist. She squeaked as he deepened the kiss.
Marinette couldn’t help but let herself melt into his embrace for a few more seconds, enjoying the feel of his lips against hers. Quickly, she snapped out of it, yanking herself out of his arms as she panted for air. She blinked at him a few times, watching as his eyes remained closed. Stuttering slightly, she asked, “D-did it work?”
Adrien simply swiped his thumb across his lips as he whispered, “Wow.”
Her cheeks turned a bright, rosy red as she groaned in her mind. It didn't work. What was she supposed to do now?! Running a hand through her hair anxiously, Marinette said, “L-listen, Adrien, the akuma’s still out there and I-I um, really think it’d be best if we hid somewhere else. W-we can’t stay here.”
His eyes popped open as he looked at her seriously. “The akuma’s still out there!? Is Ladybug out fighting it yet?”
Marinette blinked at him again, wondering how the hazy look in his eyes had somehow disappeared. Tapping her fingers together nervously, she said, “Uh, um, I don’t... I don’t know.”
“Right,” Adrien nodded his head before going to the door. “You’re right, we do need to hide somewhere else. I think it’d be best if we’re apart too so that we don’t get hit by the akuma.”
“Uh-huh,” Marinette squeaked, bobbing her head up and down rather dumbly. Did the kiss work? Then why had he deepened it? Did it just take longer to work? Thousands of questions raced through her mind before she pushed them all aside. Her duties as Ladybug came first, then she could deal with Adrien.
As he opened the door, he paused to look back over his shoulder at her. “Oh, and Marinette? After Ladybug and Chat Noir defeat the akuma, we’re going to talk about that kiss.”
She nodded her head solemnly, wincing quickly as she realized that he was probably going to scold her. Maybe if she explained that it was the only way to snap Adrien out of the akuma’s grip over him, he’d believe her and they could remain friends. Opening her mouth, Marinette murmured, “Right, I-I am sorry about it just so you know.”
“Sorry? Why are you sorry?”
Her head shot up as she gaped at him. Her mouth flapped open and closed as Adrien chuckled slightly. “That kiss was amazing and I meant what I said, you know. You are beautiful.”
With those parting words, he took off, the door shutting closed behind him. Wheezing slightly, Marinette barely noticed as Tikki floated out of her purse. With a small cough, she turned to her kwami. “D-did that really just happen?”
“Yep!” Tikki chirped. “But right now, Paris needs Ladybug so I think you should focus on that before you daydream about Adrien.”
“You’re right!” she gave a firm nod before shouting, “Tikki, spots on!”
The faster that she got through this and saved Paris, the quicker that she could get back to Adrien. She needed answers and soon. Luckily, Ladybug still had enough pent-up frustration that she was certain she could ask Adrien exactly what he remembered rather quickly. Remembering her previous plan to deck the akuma as soon as she saw her, Ladybug raced out of the school.

Stay
Andddd this is the end!! This is the last chapter for Adrienette April <3. I certainly hope you guys enjoyed reading it bc I had a great time writing it. It DOES contain Gang of Secrets spoilers so don’t read this if you haven’t seen that episode :). Lemme know what you think of this chapter or what you thought of the whole month tho hahah <3. I’ll see you all in my Marichat May drabbles :)
AO3
Marinette sniffled, gazing down at her bedroom floor that she had collapsed on. Everything had just been so much lately. Being both Ladybug and the guardian was almost impossible. Her phone buzzed incessantly on her desk but she ignored it, drowning in both stress and guilt. The kwamis snuggled around her, whispering reassurances in her ears but she huddled in on herself, laying down on the cold tiles. She didn’t even hear the knock on her trapdoor, only snapping back into awareness when the kwamis jolted away from her, phasing back into where she hid the Miracle Box.
Quickly, Marinette sat back up when the hatch opened, trying to scrub any remaining tear tracks from her eyes. She heard a voice call out her name hesitantly before she saw Adrien’s head pop up, “Marinette?”
She grimaced, swiping the heel of her hand against her smeared mascara. What was he even doing here? Adrien rarely stopped by the bakery, let alone her bedroom. Reaching for her phone, she winced at the number of text messages that greeted her.
“Oh my god, Marinette...” Adrien gasped before collapsing next to her. “Are you alright?! What’s wrong?”
“I’m fine.” She swallowed the harsh lump in her throat to give him a weak smile. “What are you doing here?”
He frowned at her, looking over her concernedly. “Alya asked me to come check on you. She said you weren’t answering your phone and I was the closest one to the bakery.”
“Of course she did,” she murmured, glancing down at her phone with a small smile. She could always count on her best friend to find a way to bring her back. She had done an even better job after Marinette told her she was Ladybug. She then gave herself a mental reminder to call Alya back as soon as she was able to.
She blinked up with some shock and slight panic as Adrien stood up. His frown had deepened further and he opened his mouth to say something when she quickly reached out. Marinette clutched his wrist rather desperately, nibbling on her lower lip. Slowly, she moved her hand down to hold his tightly, murmuring, “Stay, please. Don’t go.”
Adrien lowered himself back down to crouch beside her, squeezing her hand in his. “I wasn’t going to, Marinette. I promise.”
She gave him a watery smile, sniffling quietly. She scooted closer to him, whispering a quiet, “Thank you.”
Instead of responding, Adrien simply opened his arms to her and she immediately dove into his embrace. Marinette clenched her eyes shut tight, savoring the warmth and safety she felt as he held her to him. She nuzzled her head closer to him, letting out a quiet, happy sigh. Slowly, the pain and guilt from before ebbed away and she could finally relax.
She stayed like that for a few more minutes, content to stay exactly where she was for the rest of her life. Adrien gave some of the best hugs ever. Second only to Chat Noir. Slowly, Marinette pulled back, blinking away any last remaining tears. She gave him another wobbly smile before she worried at her lower lip. “I’m sorry about that. I had a long day today and I didn’t mean to drag you into it.”
Adrien’s look softened as he shook his head. “You never have to apologize, Marinette. I’m just glad you’re okay. Can you tell me what happened? I’d love to try and fix it for you if I can!”
His face was so eager to help and to please that she realized exactly why she fell in love with him once again. He was amazing. Marinette’s smile froze, however, when she realized that there wasn’t anything she could tell him. All of her problems were due to being both Ladybug and the guardian. She couldn’t risk her secret identity again. Especially not when she already knew the repercussions of Adrien knowing. Shuddering at the thought of Chat Blanc, she slowly shook her head. “I-I can’t tell you, Adrien. I’m sorry.”
“Oh?” He frowned at her in confusion as his head tilted adorably. “Why not?”
Marinette sighed quietly, tapping her two index fingers together as her gaze darted around. She couldn’t exactly explain that she had a secret identity that she had to protect. It was too risky with just Alya knowing. Nor could she tell him that she was Ladybug and the recent akuma attacks had left her without any free time to work on schoolwork or spend time with her friends.
She ran a hand through her hair as she blew out a harsh breath. Deciding to skirt around the problem, she murmured, “I’ve just been really stressed lately, Adrien. I haven’t had much free time to finish my homework or even go to the movies with any of my friends.”
Adrien nodded understandingly, “I get it, Marinette. Having a full schedule can be impossible. I’m sorry that you have to go through that.”
A look of realization and admiration lit across her face. Of course he gets it. Maybe not to the extent of having a double life to hide from everyone... but Adrien has certainly had to deal with a full plate before. Marinette gave him another shaky smile before throwing herself into his arms. This was exactly what she needed. Someone who understands and knows what she’s dealing with.
Quietly, she murmured, “Thank you, Adrien. You have no idea how much that means to me. S-so, how do you do it? How do you handle dealing with almost no free time?”
One of his hands came up to rub her back gently. Marinette’s eyes shut tight as her smile grew wider. If she hadn’t already been in love with him, she would have definitely fallen right there and then. How could one boy be so perfect for her and yet be so out of her league? It just wasn’t fair.
Adrien’s breath brushed against her ear as she shivered lightly. Softly, he whispered to her, “I focus on the things that are most important to me. I suffer through my responsibilities for a chance to finally be able to hang out with my friends and do the things that make me the happiest. You need to really relax and let loose in the free time you do have. And I also keep in mind that I have people who love and care about me and will always be there no matter what. Just like you, Marinette. Don’t forget that.”
Her lower lip wobbled as she tried to suppress the tears that were threatening to spill from the corners of her shut eyes. He always knew just what to say. She gave Adrien one last, tight squeeze before pulling back, looking at him rather adoringly. Swiping any stray tears away, she gave him a bright smile. “I won’t. I promise.”
She stood up slowly before leaning down to offer him a hand up. Her heart fluttered as he gave her a crooked grin back. She really had to give Alya that call thanking her because this was the best thing she could have done. Nibbling on her lower lip, Marinette said, “Thank you for staying, Adrien. You really turned a bad day into a perfect one.”
He gave her a soft look, patting her on the shoulder. “Of course, Marinette. I’m always here, whenever you need me. I’ll always just be a phone call away.”
Biting harshly on her lower lip, she ached to tell him her actual secret. How could this boy have ever told someone about her secret identity? He was just so sweet. Eventually, Marinette simply breathed in deeply, deciding that she’d tell him as soon as Hawkmoth was defeated. Peering up at him from beneath her lashes, she murmured, “I’ll be sure to remember that. I’m sorry for taking up so much of your time, though.”
Adrien’s brow furrowed at that. “You don’t need to apologize for that, Marinette. I like spending time with you. Especially if I can help you feel better.”
She glanced down, her cheeks dusted a light pink. “D-do you have time to play a game of Ultimate Mecha Strike III, or do you need to go?”
“I think I have time for one game. As long as you’re prepared to lose. I’ve been practicing.” He gave her a smug smirk.
Marinette’s eyes narrowed playfully as she said, “You’re on!”
With that, they both slid into the desk chairs and booted up the game. Her fingers slid across the controls with practiced ease as she and Adrien fought. Once she had a comfortable lead, her eyes slid over to him. One thing was for absolute certainty after today. She would never truly be over Adrien Agreste. A part of her would always love him. As she defeated him and he screamed for a rematch, Marinette slowly relaxed. He was right. It was time for her to learn to calm down and enjoy her free time before the next mission. Giving him a smug smirk, she set them up for the rematch, certain that she’d beat him once again.

Seatmates
Another day and another short chapter hehe. I hope you guys like this one!! I wish we had gotten more of this in the show. Oh well, that’s what fics are for hehe. Anyway, lemme know what you think of this chapter <3. I had a lot of fun with it!
AO3
Adrien slowly walked back into school after the most recent akuma attack. Of course Lila had gotten herself akumatized again. Plus, he had slept for about half of the battle after she had kissed his cheek. Shuddering slightly, he entered the classroom just behind Marinette.
Adrien paused, watching as she slowly sat down. Suddenly, all of his anger and frustration disappeared as he looked up at the girl. Her chin rested on her fist as she gazed out the window happily. A soft smile spread across his face as he realized that he would be able to sit next to her. Feeling his grin grow even wider, Adrien sat down next to her, saying, “Good for you for taking the high road, Marinette. Hey, it’s pretty cool back here.”
Marinette simply giggled at him and he took one last sidelong glance at her before turning to face Mlle. Bustier. Once everyone had all gotten settled into their new seats, she began to take attendance. Knowing that his name was usually first on the attendance list, Adrien immediately spoke up when he was called on, “Present!”
After that, he tuned out slightly, unable to stop himself from sneaking another look at Marinette who looked lost in her own thoughts. With a small frown, Adrien turned back to Mlle. Bustier who had just called Marinette’s name. Seeing that she wasn’t going to respond, Adrien nudged her slightly, jerking his head to the front when she looked at him with a shocked expression.
Immediately, Marinette understood and she jumped to her feet to shout, “O-oh, I’m here!”
Mlle. Bustier gave her a small smile. “Are you sure you’re going to be alright back there, Marinette? I can move you to the front if you’re hard of hearing like Lila.”
Adrien immediately froze as the liar raised her hand immediately. “You know, actually, Mlle. Bustier, I’m pretty sure Ladybug cured my tinnitus so I can sit in the back now.”
Adrien felt his heart drop as both he and Marinette looked at each other with horror in their eyes. She then quickly shook her head. “No, no, no! I promise you Mlle. Bustier my hearing is completely fine! I’m alright sitting back here!”
“If you’re sure.” Their teacher nodded her head before resuming her roll call.
Both he and Marinette breathed out a sigh of relief after that. With a quiet snicker, Adrien turned to look at her only to realize that she was already looking at him. Both their eyes twinkled mischievously as small smiles tugged at their lips.
It was nice. Having a secret that only he and Marinette knew. Like they were secret partners on a mission together. Adrien felt his grin grow as he couldn’t help but compare Marinette to Ladybug. He quickly peeked at her once again before going back to scribble down some of the notes Mlle. Bustier was writing on the whiteboard. It wasn’t that odd that he was comparing two of the most important women in his life. After all, he did call Marinette his everyday Ladybug for a reason.
Shifting slightly in his seat, Adrien couldn’t stop his gaze from traveling to her notebook where he watched her doodle. Soon, a beautiful rose came to life as she sketched in more details. Blinking in awe, he leaned closer to murmur quietly, “Wow, that’s a wonderful drawing, Marinette.”
Marinette squeaked softly, whipping her wide, bright, blue eyes around to look at him. A red flush coated her cheeks before she ducked her head down shyly. “F-fank you, I-I mean, thank you, Adrien,” she stuttered as she brushed a stray strand of hair back into her pigtails.
“Where did you learn to draw like that?” Adrien asked softly, forgetting for a moment that there was a lecture going on.
“O-oh, actually I taught myself.” Marinette gave him a bashful grin.
He nudged his shoulder against hers, a light chuckle falling from his lips. “Well, it’s absolutely amazing! I wouldn’t have expected anything less from a talented designer like yourself!”
She opened her mouth to respond when Mlle. Bustier cut in, clearing her throat loudly at them, “Marinette, Adrien, please refrain from flirting in the middle of my lectures or I really will be forced to move the two of you.”
Immediately, they both sat up ramrod straight with dark, red blushes across their cheeks. Together, they then both stuttered out excuses and denials, avoiding the other’s gaze. Rubbing the back of his neck sheepishly, Adrien looked down rather pleadingly at his teacher, hoping she’d accept his apology.
Mlle. Bustier merely tsked at the two of them. “It’s alright. I know the two of you are both good students. Just keep your attention on the lecture and not each other. There will be plenty of time to talk after class ends.”
“Yes, Mlle. Bustier,” he and Marinette muttered together before clamping their lips firmly shut.
Immediately, Adrien dove back into scribbling down the notes he had missed. He attempted to shove his teacher’s words down into the back of his mind so that he could properly pay attention, but, for some reason, he just couldn’t. The word flirting kept floating around in his thoughts. He hadn’t been flirting with Marinette. Had he?
No, that was just ridiculous. Marinette was his friend. And, for that matter, Marinette hadn’t been flirting with him. She wouldn’t do that. At least not with him. He had teased her enough times to know that she didn’t see him that way.
Unconsciously, Adrien’s gaze was drawn away from his notebook over to the girl sitting next to him. Her pencil was tapping rapidly on the table as she gazed out the window, a pink hue still on her cheeks. When Marinette turned slightly to look back at Mlle. Bustier, Adrien immediately snapped his eyes away from her.
Maybe this hadn’t been the perfect seat choice he had thought it was going to be originally. It was only the first day sitting next to her and he was already getting distracted. With a quiet gulp, Adrien turned back to Mlle. Bustier’s words as he fought to pay some attention to them. With a quiet sigh to himself, he thought, this is going to be a really long year.
Unable to stop himself, though, he snuck another quick peek at Marinette. Her head was ducked down, tongue poked out slightly in concentration as she wrote down the lecture notes. A small, soft smile lit up his face as he looked at her. It may be a long year but at least it was going to be a perfect one.

Dreams
I had a lottt of fun writing this chapter! And we’re halfway through April :D!! Also, this chapter has slight spoilers for Chat Blanc so if you haven’t seen that episode yet please go now!! It’s amazing haha. Anywho, if you have seen it lemme know what you think of this chapter :)
AO3
Adrien gasped awake from his most recent dream. Running a shaky hand through his blonde hair, he checked the time. Releasing a sigh of exasperation at the early hour, he flopped back down onto his bed. Rubbing his eyes, Adrien cursed silently as images from his most recent dream danced across his eyelids. Heaving another annoyed sigh, he opened his eyes to see Plagg floating above him with a smug smirk.
“Let me guess... another dream about pigtails.” The kwami chuckled down at him.
“Shut up, Plagg,” Adrien muttered before sliding out of bed and heading for his computers.
With another rub of his eyes, he attempted to get rid of the images that kept burning in the back of his thoughts. Marinette running to greet him with a giant hug and a kiss every school morning. Marinette and him sharing André’s ice cream together. They even slow-danced and attended events together with him calling her princess while she called him prince. Letting his head fall against the desk, Adrien groaned quietly.
“Maybe it’s time you should listen to your dreams, you know,” Plagg’s voice cut into his thoughts, “I mean, they’re probably happening for a reason.”
Adrien shot a tired glare at his kwami. “Where’s your usual talk about camembert? I’ve never known you to get all romantic and mushy.”
Plagg made a face before crossing his arms and looking away with a quiet scoff. “I am not romantic and mushy. I just don’t like you interrupting my beauty sleep every night because you’re dreaming about Marinette. If you would do something about it maybe I’d sleep better.”
A blush lit up Adrien’s cheeks before he buried his head into his arms. With a frustrated groan, he muttered, “I just don’t know why this is happening to me.”
Plagg let out an amused snort. “I think I have a pretty good idea why.”
Lifting his head up with a roll of his eyes, Adrien spoke, “I do not have a crush on Marinette, Plagg. I love Ladybug and she’s just a very good friend.”
His kwami chuckled dryly again before lazily floating up to him. “Did I say that you had a crush on Marinette? You came to that conclusion all on your own. I merely suggested that I knew why you were dreaming about her.”
Adrien’s cheeks flamed once again as Plagg looked at him with clear amusement and mischief dancing in his green eyes. Opening his mouth, he stuttered, “W-well, n-no... but you certainly implied!”
Plagg simply yawned at him before speaking, “All this talk about Marinette is making me hungry. Don’t you have any camembert?”
Reaching into his pocket with a quiet sigh, Adrien held up a piece for his kwami. Plagg immediately dove onto the stinky cheese with a happy shout, devouring it in one bite.
Watching in disgust, his thoughts slowly drifted back to the dream he just had. He had been so happy in the dream. In fact, he had been so happy that he didn’t even want to wake up, content to remain in Marinette’s arms forever. But the dream ended the same way every time. She would break up with him and he’d race forward to understand why she did it before he noticed a black akuma making its way towards her. He’d shout for her and every time he’d wake up gasping for breath, feeling like something was just out of reach.
Straining to remember anything after that, Adrien huffed in frustration. Plagg was simply content to blink at him amusedly. After a while, the kwami spoke with a quick shrug, “I don’t understand why you don’t just ask her out. Don’t you think that’d end your little nighttime adventures?”
Groaning, he shook his head. “I can’t just ask her out, Plagg. Marinette’s one of my best friends. And besides...,” Adrien looked away before murmuring, “She doesn’t see me like that.”
Plagg burst out laughing, rolling around in the air as he shook with laughter. Eventually, he sat back up with a quiet wheeze, “That was a good one.”
“I wasn’t trying to be funny.” Adrien pouted, an annoyed expression on his face as he glared up at his kwami.
Plagg chuckled again before looking down at Adrien. Slowly, he blinked in shock, realization entering his eyes. “Oh, you’re serious.”
Furrowing his brow, he looked up at the kwami with confusion. “Serious about what? What are you talking about?”
“You mean you don’t know?!” Plagg burst into another round of raucous laughter, “I knew you were pretty oblivious kid but I thought you knew about this at least.”
“Know about what?!” Adrien practically shouted, throwing his arms into the air as he looked at him exasperatedly.
Plagg swallowed quietly, his eyes darting around before he muttered, “I am not the kwami for this. You really should have gotten Tikki.”
Frowning again at that, he continued to stare up at Plagg. Why was he mentioning Ladybug’s kwami at a time like this? Weren’t they just talking about Marinette? And what on earth could be so obvious that Plagg noticed it but he didn’t?!
His kwami sighed, running a black paw down his face before muttering, “I really should not be telling you this. Tikki is going to murder me.” Sucking in a deep breath, Plagg spoke clearly and decisively again, “Marinette has been crushing on you for a while. Like big time.”
Blinking slowly, he waited for his kwami to add something else to that sentence. When he didn’t, a slow smile twitched at his lips. In the next second, Adrien was chuckling madly, clutching at his sides as he attempted to catch his breath. The idea was just so laughable. Marinette liking him?! It just wasn’t possible. Especially after she had told him multiple times that she didn’t feel that way about him.
Looking up at Plagg who was staring down at him in shock, Adrien’s smile grew wider. “Come on, at least try to be serious. Marinette couldn’t possibly have a crush on me.”
Plagg narrowed his eyes, crossing his arms. “So she kisses all her friends’ ‘statues’ then?”
Adrien’s grin froze before he turned bright red, coughing loudly. When he could speak again, he muttered, “T-that was just a prank.”
“What about after, then? When she got upset at you for mentioning the girl you’re in love with?”
His mouth fell open at that, about to protest when he realized that he had no rebuttal. Slowly, his mouth closed and Plagg continued to talk.
“What about all of your pictures in her room, then? A room where she has no other designers or models even though she’s interested in fashion.”
“I-I don’t...” Adrien trailed off as he choked in a gasp.
“How about the way she blushes and stutters around you but none of her other friends?” Plagg finally finished with a glare and a huff, “That possible enough for you?”
It felt like he had just gotten hit by a truck. How had he not noticed? Plagg was right. It was obvious. Feeling shaky, Adrien leaned back against his chair as he rubbed the back of his neck.
Marinette liked him. The thought sent a flurry of butterflies racing through his stomach. That was something he had only felt with one other girl before. Slowly, a grin formed on his face. If Marinette liked him then maybe he could ask her out. Maybe he would be allowed to hug her every morning before school and then maybe they could even attend events together.
Plagg’s snickering invaded his daydreams. “I see you’ve finally realized that you like her back.”
“Maybe,” Adrien’s smile grew wider as a lovestruck expression entered his eyes, “Do you think if I ask her to the movies tomorrow she’ll say yes?”
“Probably,” Plagg rolled his eyes, “But you’ll need to get enough sleep to actually wake up for school on time.”
Immediately, Adrien’s eyes widened before he practically dove onto the bed. Forcefully shutting his eyes, he tried to remember the dream from before, hoping that he might be able to change the ending this time. Plus, the quicker that he went to bed, the quicker that he’d get to see Marinette. With that one last, blissful thought, Adrien slowly fell into a peaceful sleep, a joyful beam stretched across his lips.

Future Kids
Day 27 is doneee!! I can’t believe we only have three more days of Adrienette April D:. I’m not readyyyy. Also, I hope you guys still like this chapter even though it’s not as Adrienette centered as it usually is haha. It does allude to it tho ;). Lemme know what you think <3
AO3
Marinette blinked in shock at the young girl in front of her. The girl’s blonde ponytail swayed in the wind as her bluebell eyes shined up at her rather expectantly. Hesitantly, Marinette tapped her index fingers together. “So... who did you say you were again?”
“Emma Agreste,” she chirped, her smile getting even bigger.
She gulped before stuttering slightly, “R-right... s-so, Emma... are you Adrien’s cousin or...?”
A frown settled on Emma's face and for some reason, Marinette wanted to smooth it with her thumb. She shook her hand out quickly before the young girl spoke up rather cheerily, “No, he’s not my cousin. He’s my papa!”
Marinette felt her mouth drop open into a wide gape. There was no way this girl was Adrien’s daughter. Choking slightly, she expressed her shock. “B-but, that’s impossible! You’re too old!”
Emma giggled, her blue eyes shimmering with amusement as she said, “That’s because I’m from the future, silly.”
There were many questions brimming around Marinette’s mind at that moment. However, most of her thoughts were centered around giddy squeals because Emma was always a name that she wanted to name her own daughter. But she couldn’t be... could she?
Swallowing harshly, Marinette peered down at the young girl. Instead of asking the question she really wanted answered, she instead asked, “So, what are you doing here then?”
Emma blinked slightly, slowly tapping the bottom of her chin as she seemed to ponder Marinette’s question. Eventually, she shrugged with a small grin. “I can’t really remember. There was an akuma attack and I got hit by something. I’m glad I found you though! I could have been really lost. I’m sure my parents will come find me soon.”
Her brow furrowed at the girl’s words. Hesitatingly, she asked, “And you’re waiting for Adrien to come pick you up, then?”
“That’s right,” Emma chirped before pausing slightly to nibble on her lower lip. “Though it may not be him per se...”
Alright, now Marinette was really confused. It was like she only understood half of what this girl was saying. Scrubbing a hand down her face, she sighed quietly. What on earth was she going to do with this girl? If she really was Adrien’s daughter from the future how was she supposed to get her back? And if she wasn’t from the future... how was she going to find her real parents?
Clapping her hands together, Marinette was about to head back and grab the bunny miraculous before a loud whooshing sound came from behind her. She saw Emma’s eyes widen in delight before Marinette turned around herself. Chat Noir stood in front of a portal, a relieved smile on his face as he saw the young girl. Immediately, Emma gave him a bright beam before racing into his open arms. The young girl squealed happily as she gave the superhero a tight hug. “You came!”
“Of course I did,” Chat said, ruffling her hair.
“Uh...” Marinette choked out as she stared at the two in confusion. What was going on? There had to be something she was missing here. Her gaze darted back and forth between the two as she searched for something that was just out of reach.
Chat gave her a lopsided grin, lifting his hand up in a wave. “Oh, hey Marinette. Were you keeping an eye on this little one?”
“Y-yeah,” she stuttered slightly, her cheeks turning a light pink. “Uh, is everything alright?”
“Yep, everything’s purrfect now thanks to LB,” Chat said, his grin softening into something that seemed almost adoring. Marinette stiffened slightly as he squeezed Emma to his side once again. “I hope this little one didn’t give you any trouble.”
“Hey!” Emma squawked indignantly at him before giggling cheekily. “I’m not trouble!”
As the two exchanged glances, Marinette felt like there was something she was missing yet again. Nibbling on her lower lip, her eyes narrowed at them. “No, she was no trouble at all.”
“Pawsome!” Chat gave her a smirk before he waved. “Well, I think we had better get going now. Thanks for keeping an eye on her, Marinette.”
Once again, an odd feeling settled in her stomach but she still waved back at the two. A slow smile stretched across her face as she stared at Emma. “No problem! Bye Chat! Bye Emma!”
“Bye maman!” she chirped before slapping a palm to her mouth.
Marinette gaped at the two of them, about to shout back before the portal completely closed and the two had vanished from her sight. Turning around, she brought a hand to her forehead as the world spun in front of her. She was feeling a weird combination of both giddiness and dizziness. If Adrien was... and she was... then that meant...
Quickly, Marinette thrust that thought away. No! Today was just a really weird day. Besides, she already knew that the future could change in the blink of an eye. Shuddering at the memories of Chat Blanc, Marinette was still unable to resist pulling out her phone to text Alya about the events of today. Hopefully, her best friend would be able to calm her racing thoughts. Most likely, though, they were going to spend the entire time gushing about Adrien.
Chuckling when she saw Alya’s call come in immediately after she sent the text, Marinette picked up. Her best friend’s screech greeted her and she immediately devolved into happy squealing, explaining the craziness of her day. As Alya asked question after question, Marinette felt her heart thud in her chest as she bit her lip. If she had met Emma then perhaps Hugo and Louis were also a part of that future. Closing her eyes with a fond smile, she prayed that one day she really would be able to experience that daydream.

Commissions
Day 8 is doneee!! Woot woot!! And it’s another mini reveal! I hope you guys like it! I had fun writing it. Lemme know what you think <3
AO3
“Marinette, can I ask you something really quickly?” Adrien tugged on her sleeve, stopping her before she could head outside their school.
Blinking in surprise, her brow furrowed as he looked at her almost desperately. Her eyes darted down to where he was still holding onto her sleeve before she tore her gaze back up to his eyes. Giving him a small smile, Marinette spoke, “O-of course, is something wrong?”
Adrien finally let go of her sleeve, glancing away as he rubbed at the back of his neck. After a short pause, he asked, “You do commissions, right?”
“Well, yes, b-”
Before she could clarify any further, Adrien looked at her with relief, “That’s great! I accidentally tore one of the sleeves on my suit jacket and I really need it by tomorrow! Is there a way you can do that? I can pay extra.”
Marinette’s eyes widened. That’s right! It was the Agreste Annual Ball tomorrow night. No wonder he looked so desperate. Grinning mischievously causing her blue eyes to twinkle slightly as she tapped her chin, “Hmm, I don’t know... that’s pretty soon.”
“Please, I’ll do anything, Marinette,” he begged, "My father will kill me if my outfit is ruined.”
Thoughts of asking him if he’d consider a kiss a fair exchange filled her head before she quickly shoved them down. No. She was supposed to be over him! Just because he said he’d do anything didn’t mean he actually meant it! She had finally managed to talk to him normally and she wasn’t going to mess that up!
Giggling softly, she shook her head, “It’s alright, Adrien, of course I’ll help you! I was only teasing. It'd probably be best if you come over now, though. Are you available?”
“Yes! You’re the best, Marinette!” Adrien practically shouted as he threw his arms around her.
Feeling the beginnings of a pink flush tint her cheeks, Marinette patted him on the shoulder carefully. I thought you were supposed to be over him, a corner of her mind taunted her smugly. Shut up, she scolded it back, letting herself sink into Adrien’s embrace for a few more seconds.
When they both pulled back, Adrien gestured at his limo with a small grin, “Need a lift?”
She blinked at him in confusion before tilting her head, “Don’t you have to go home to get the suit jacket first?”
“Actually...,” Adrien started, rubbing the back of his neck, “I brought it with me. It’s in my backpack.”
Marinette frowned deeply. Pursing her lips, she tsked at him, “Is it crumpled up into a ball in there? Adrien, you shouldn’t be treating good fabric like that. Besides, it could rip even further.”
He simply answered with a sheepish grin before opening the limo door for her. Sighing, she quickly slid into her seat. Turning around to face him when he sat besides her, Marinette immediately held out her hand, “Can I see the jacket?”
Adrien nodded quickly before digging through his backpack. She winced when she saw him root past a few notebooks and pencil cases to find the suit jacket at the very bottom. Marinette breathed out a slow, painful breath when she saw the state the jacket was in. Taking it from his hands carefully, she held it in her own hands gingerly.
There was a tear almost clean through the entire sleeve. Looking over at him with a quiet, amused laugh, she asked, “How did you do this? I was expecting a small cut, not a giant hole.”
“Uh, there was an akuma attack...” Adrien’s eyes darted around nervously.
Giggling at his reaction, Marinette teased, “Was he in your suit or did he just decide to cut off one portion of it?”
Adrien shrugged embarrassedly, opening his mouth to speak when the limo came to a stop. Giving her one last bashful grin, he stepped outside quickly. With a quiet chuckle, Marinette followed after him.
Together, she and Adrien both stopped to say hello to her parents before they went up to her room. With a quiet hum, Marinette spun into her desk chair and pulled out her sewing supplies. For a long while, the room was quiet. Marinette’s tongue poked out in concentration as Adrien leaned his head over to watch her work.
At first, having him watch over her was absolutely nerve-wracking. Though Marinette had sworn she had gotten over him, it was still Adrien! Every so often, his breath would brush against her cheek and she would be reminded that he was standing right next to her.
After a few, deep, calming breaths, and a couple of pricks with her sewing needle, however, Marinette turned her focus entirely on the suit jacket in front of her. Eventually, Adrien’s presence faded away into the background and became comfortable and familiar. It was much like having Chat Noir over, listening to him ooh and ahh over her latest design. With a small giggle, she remembered listening to him rant about the previous akuma while she worked on her designs.
After that, she quickly finished up the tear in Adrien’s suit jacket. Holding it up proudly, she beamed at it, “There we go! All finished, kitty. How does it look.”
Her eyes widened at what she just said. Immediately recognizing her mistake, Marinette winced. Please tell me you didn’t notice that I called you kitty, she cringed internally and shut her eyes tightly closed.
“It looks purrfect, purrincess!” Adrien purred and her eyes immediately flipped back open. She whirled around and noticed that his own eyes were wide with shock. Her mouth immediately fell open and she wheezed uncertainly, wondering if she had just dreamed this whole encounter.
T-there's no way, right, Marinette thought to herself, A-Adrien can’t be...
Stuttering slightly, she handed him the suit jacket with dark red cheeks, “H-here you go, A-Adrien.”
“Right, yes. Uh, thank you, Marinette. You just saved my life!” he immediately took it from her. He gave her a shaky, uncertain smile before asking, “S-so, how much do I owe you?”
Well, she could either go out on a limb and risk her secret identity entirely... or she could pretend that nothing happened. Taking a deep breath to fill herself with courage, Marinette spoke rather quietly, “I think you’ve paid me back plenty, kitty.”
Adrien paled and her suspicions were confirmed. It felt like she just got punched in the stomach. Adrien really was Chat Noir. This entire time they had been circling around each other. A small smile twitched at her lips as he began to stutter out excuses, “Listen, i-it’s not what you think, Marinette.”
Pushing up from her seat, she gave him a trademark Ladybug smirk. She pushed his nose back playfully as she grinned, “I’m pretty sure it’s exactly what I think, mon Chaton.”
Immediately his mouth fell open before he grabbed her wrist with his hand gently, “M-m’lady?”
“Hello, my kitty,” Marinette giggled and gave him a shy wave.
“I can’t believe I’ve actually found you!” Adrien gasped before wrapping her up in a giant hug, “I always suspected it would be you, too but after Multimouse I thought I was crazy!”
Pulling back slightly to give him a sheepish grin, Marinette murmured, “Sorry, I was trying to keep you from figuring out my identity.”
“Well, it definitely worked. I was very disappointed to learn my sweet, cute, adorable classmate wasn’t the girl of my dreams,” Adrien grinned down at her softly.
She squeaked loudly, feeling herself blush as her entire face turned red. Shifting in his arms even more, she looked him directly in the eye, “G-girl of your dreams, huh?”
Now it was Adrien’s turn to flush deeply, his eyes darting away to mutter an apology, “Sorry... I shouldn’t have said that.”
Adrien took a step back and she felt her body shiver slightly as he let go of her. Taking a deep breath to steel her nerves, Marinette rushed out, “The boy was you!”
“W-what?” He looked back at her again, but this time his eyes were filled with confusion.
“T-the boy,” she gulped, “The boy I turned Chat Noir down for... i-it was you.”
“Me?!” Adrien’s mouth gaped open, “Are you serious?!”
Marinette giggled nervously, tapping her fingers together, “K-kinda... I’ve actually been in love with you since you gave me your umbrella.”
Instead of a response back, Marinette was immediately wrapped back up in his arms as he spun her around. She squeaked faintly before he pressed his lips against hers. She melted into his embrace, wrapping her arms around his neck as she kissed him back. Adrien’s head tilted to deepen their kiss and she ran her fingers through his hair.
Eventually, they pulled back to suck in deep, lungfuls of air, grinning at each other. Adrien lightly placed his forehead against hers, cupping her cheeks, “Does this mean you’ll be my girlfriend, now?”
“Only if you can be my boyfriend,” Marinette beamed back at him.
Adrien threw his head back to laugh deeply before he pulled her back in for another deep kiss.

Game Night
Day 3 is done! This does contain spoilers for Truth so if you haven’t seen that episode yet please do before reading this!! That being said I need more reveals like this hehe. Anywho, I hope you enjoy <3 <3
AO3
About to enter her first class of the day, Marinette was paused in her tracks by an arm yanking on hers. She let out a startled yelp as she was dragged away from the classroom door before she turned around and met the wide eyes of Alya. With a small scowl, Marinette rubbed on her arm after her best friend let her go. Giving a small huff, she pouted, “What was that for? For the first time ever I’m on time to class and now we’re going to be late!”
“I need to speak to you,” her friend said urgently, a look of regret entering into her hazel eyes.
Marinette nodded quickly, “Ok. Is something wrong?”
“Kind of,” Alya ran a hand through her hair frustratedly, “I know we haven’t been able to hang out as much because you’ve been busy with the bakery and homework. I mean, that’s why we set up the games night later because you, me, Adrien, and Nino are all finally free today.”
“Oh no,” she sighed quietly, “Can you guys not make it?”
Alya glanced away before meeting Marinette’s gaze once again, “Well, here’s the thing... Nino and I can’t come because I suddenly got swamped with babysitting the twins and he got grounded after we got our exams back. But, Adrien’s still free.”
“I don’t know, Alya,” Marinette murmured, her eyes glancing down at the floor as she nibbled on her lip, “It’s not going to be as much fun without you and Nino and I still have a lot of work to catch up on anyway. Don’t you think I should just cancel and reschedule for a different time?”
“No way, girl!” She spoke decisively, “You’re almost never free and you’ve been absent from all of our recent meetings! You need to have some relaxation time.”
Marinette shifted uncomfortably, “But it would be just me and Adrien. You know I’m still working on just being his friend and Luka and I broke up not that long ago.”
“Which is why you should totally do this!” Alya gave her a wide smile, reaching out to squeeze her shoulders tightly, “Prove to yourself that you really can be a great friend to him. And besides, it’s not like you and Adrien have never played video games together alone before.”
She giggled, shaking her head amusedly at her friend, “Alright, I’ll do it. But only because you’re right. I really do need to spend some time with friends. I swear I’m going to die from stress alone.”
“I don’t know how you do it girl,” Alya bumped her shoulder with hers playfully as they began to walk back to their classroom.
“Me neither,” Marinette sighed quietly to herself. Sliding into her seat, however, she turned back to Alya, “We are definitely going to need to find another time where it can be all four of us though.”
Alya nodded her head quickly, “Oh, of course! I’ve finally learned a few tricks in Ultimate Mecha Strike III that I think might let me win a few rounds against you.”
“Psh, good luck with that!” Marinette snickered quietly to herself before their teacher entered the classroom and began her lesson.
Listening to her lectures that day was a lot more difficult. Half of her thoughts were still stuck on whether or not she would be able to handle acting like she was just a friend to Adrien. The other half of her thoughts were plotting. Where she’d go if there was an akuma attack, how she was going to keep the miracle box away from Adrien’s sight, and how to keep the kwamis quiet during their playthroughs.
Marinette still scribbled down notes, of course, but every so often she would glance out the window during her lectures, certain that there would be another akuma attack to ruin her day. Her leg jostled restlessly throughout the entire day, hoping that Hawkmoth would send it before her game night with Adrien.
No akuma came, however, and Marinette was left to sigh silently to herself as she trudged out of the classroom, positive that Hawkmoth was just delaying the inevitable. The warm sunlight that beamed down upon her face when she stepped outside didn’t do much to lighten her mood. She was about to begin her walk to the bakery when a hand touched her shoulder.
With a startled yelp, Marinette whirled around, meeting the wide, green, sheepish eyes of Adrien Agreste. He gave her a crooked smile before rubbing the back of his neck, “Sorry, Marinette. I couldn’t help but notice though that you looked down. Is something wrong?”
“No, no, I’m fine!” She panted out, a hand on her chest as she attempted to calm her racing heart rate. Feeling awkward, she tugged on her backpack straps, “W-well, I mean, I am kind of upset that Nino and Alya can’t make our games night. Did you hear?”
“Yeah,” he nodded, “Nino told me, and actually that’s what I came over to talk to you about.”
Marinette felt a relieved smile form on her face. He was going to cancel too, wasn’t he? Good, that meant she could spend more time preparing for Hawkmoth’s akuma. She ignored the brush of disappointment that she felt over yet another missed opportunity to spend time with friends and opened her mouth to tell him she was fine with him canceling.
He stopped her before she could, though, beaming down excitedly at her, “Do you mind if I go home first and drop my stuff off before meeting you at the bakery?”
Oh. Marinette blinked a few times. He wasn’t canceling on her. Happiness filled her as a small smile formed on her face. Hawkmoth and her duties as Ladybug could wait for one afternoon then. Alya was right, she really needed a night out with friends.
Her smile grew wider and more teasing as she nodded, “Of course not, Adrien. Take all the time you need before you come over and get absolutely destroyed.”
“Hey!” he said mock-offendedly, “I’ll have you know that I’ve gotten a lot better since the last time we played against each other. Who knows, I might even surprise you.”
Adrien gave her a playful wink and she quickly shoved down the flurry of butterflies she felt begin to swirl around her stomach. No! They were friends. Just friends.
“Good luck then,” Marinette laughed, “I’m looking forward to those new tricks you have up your sleeve.”
Adrien chuckled with her before giving her a quick wave, “See you soon then, Marinette.”
“See you soon, Adrien,” she gave a small nod, the beginnings of a dreamy smile forming on her lips before she pursed them, scolding herself internally. Turning around, she began to head towards the bakery. As she got farther and farther away from him, though, Marinette began to sink deeper into her thoughts once again. Unable to stop herself, she looked around for any signs of a familiar, black butterfly.
Funny how Chat and Adrien were the only two who could manage to take her mind off of everything. Looking behind her, Marinette managed to catch a glimpse of the black limo slowly pulling away from the school. Taking a deep breath, she attempted to calm herself down as anxiety and stress ate away at her.
I can do this, she thought to herself, I have a plan and I’m ready for anything Hawkmoth sends my way. With those last determined thoughts, Marinette turned decisively back to the bakery and continued her trek home.
Saying hello to her parents when she finally arrived, she quickly made her way to her room. Once there, she ran over to where she hid the Miracle Box, checking to make certain that it was still hidden. Breathing out a sigh of relief when it was, Marinette collapsed into her desk chair. She sent a small, lonely glance at the other three chairs that she had set up earlier this morning. Pushing herself up, she began slowly moving two of them out of the way.
“Next time,” she murmured to herself before standing up straight with a long stretch. Marinette yawned quietly as she looked outside her window anxiously. She’d know if an akuma began to attack Paris, right? I mean, there was no way she’d get too swept up in her night with Adrien that she’d miss an akuma attack.
Nibbling on her lip, her thoughts strayed even further. What if she did make it to the battle too late? What if one day she wasn’t there and Chat got hurt. Marinette’s lip wobbled as a lump settled in her throat. This was such a bad idea! What had she been thinking?! She didn’t have time to goof off. There was only Ladybug and saving Paris.
Her eyes shot over to the hidden Miracle Box before a voice shouted close to her ear, “Boo!”
Jumping into the air, Marinette yelped for the third time that day. Forgetting where she was, she reached behind her, grabbing onto something before throwing it over her shoulder with all her strength. Her blue eyes widened as she saw everything happen in slow motion. It was Adrien whom she just threw over her shoulder.
In that split second where he was falling, however, Marinette would have sworn that she saw another familiar, blonde boy flying through the air. Instinctively, she reached for the yo-yo at her side, only for her hand to wrap around nothing. Instead, she could do nothing to stop Adrien’s crash as he hit the ground. Wincing as she heard him groan quietly, Marinette quickly rushed over to him.
All of her previous fears and anxiety were completely gone as she peered down at him in worry. A stunned look was in his emerald green eyes as he looked up at her. Crouching down, she spoke panickedly as she looked for any broken bones, “Oh my god, Adrien are you alright?! Did I hurt you?!”
“No,” he wheezed out, “Besides, it was my fault for scaring you.”
Marinette leaned back as he slowly began to sit up. She examined his face and body worriedly as she gnawed on her lower lip, “A-are you sure? That was a pretty nasty fall.”
Adrien rubbed the back of his head as he chuckled lightly, “Yeah, I’m okay. I think I’m getting used to it now.”
They both froze, blinking at each other slowly. Neither spoke as they sat in a tense silence. Surely not, Marinette thought to herself as her brow furrowed. Attempting to brush off the tension that had suddenly entered the small room, she stood up. Brushing herself off, she offered a hand down to Adrien, “I-I’m still really sorry about that, Adrien. I-I didn’t mean to throw you at all, I just didn’t notice you come in.”
Instead of taking her hand, he continued to stare up at her for a few seconds, a small furrow between his eyebrows as he looked up at her. It was only when she managed to tear her eyes away from his piercing gaze, shifting uncomfortably that Adrien took her hand, using it to pull himself up.
With a small gulp, Marinette looked back towards him. He was smiling and relief filled her as she realized she hadn’t completely broken him. Giving him a small grin back, she motioned her head towards her computer, “D-do you want to play now or should I see if I can get you some painkillers.”
“No, I’m fine,” Adrien shook his head, the smile still on his lips, “I think I’m ready to get ‘destroyed by you now.’” He laughed as he copied her words from earlier.
Marinette’s face flushed as she quickly turned to the computer. Logging into the game, she handed him the controller silently. He took it from her with another small, grateful smile.
As they began to play a round together, she lost herself in the motion of the game. Her fingers moved automatically over the controller as she tried to brush the wave of familiarity screaming at her away. Like she had predicted before, she won easily. Too easily. Adrien’s movements were jerky and disjointed and Marinette shot him a suspicious glare.
“Where were those fancy moves you promised me earlier?” She raised an eyebrow at him, “Those were worse than usual, Adrien.”
“Sorry, sorry,” he chuckled, rubbing the back of his neck, “I think I’m still a little dizzy after that fall.”
Immediately, her face fell. Standing up, Marinette put her controller down, “I knew you needed painkillers. I’m so sorry for making you play with me, Adrien. Maybe you should go home and rest.”
“No!” he practically shouted, grabbing onto her wrist as she turned to scramble her way downstairs. Her mouth fell open in shock, staring at him in bewildered confusion after his latest outburst. Adrien blushed and then spoke in a softer tone, “I-I mean, no. I’m fine, I promise.”
Marinette huffed with a small amount of frustration, “Adrien, you just told me you got dizzy playing a game. You’re not okay! I’ll be right bac-”
“Where did you learn how to do that?” He cut her off, staring at her intensely.
Her jaw dropped open once again, eyes moving from his down to the hand still holding her wrist before she looked away from him completely. I’m a superhero and I go gallivanting around saving the city, Marinette thought to herself as her lips twitched slightly.
Bringing her gaze back to his, she cleared her throat, “W-well, um, I-I take, uh self-defense! Yeah, self-defense!”
“Really?” Adrien asked as a knowing grin began to spread across his face.
Once again, Marinette felt a wave of familiarity before she shook herself from those thoughts. Nodding her head quickly, she gave a wide, awkward smile, “Really. S-so, c-can I go get you some painkillers now.”
“No,” he spoke simply, squeezing her wrist before he stood up, looking down at her with a mischievous twinkle in his eyes, “I feel completely fine now.”
“But you just said...” She trailed off, frowning with confusion.
“Seriously, Marinette, don’t worry. I told you I’m used to it by now,” Adrien shrugged, a soft smile on his lips.
She giggled uncomfortably, glancing away from him and his sparkling eyes. It felt like something was on the tip of her tongue. Something important that she should know but just couldn’t connect. Shifting uncomfortably, Marinette murmured, “You make it sound like you get thrown around by girls often.”
“Hmm,” Adrien hummed, tilting his head as he considered her words, “Maybe not often. But it is weird that it’s happened twice now.”
Marinette snapped her gaze back to his, her eyes narrowing as a spark of something flared up within her, “Then maybe you should stop sneaking up and scaring people.”
She blinked a few times, her hand coming to press against her lips. Why had she just said that? Opening her mouth to apologize for essentially blaming him after she was the one who flipped him, Marinette was cut off by Adrien wrapping her up in a giant hug.
“It is you,” he whispered softly in her ear.
For a brief moment, she tensed up before everything clicked. Oh. Everything made sense now. Of course, her kitty was Adrien. Marinette reached up to hug him back just as tightly before she buried her head in his shoulder.
“Chaton,” she murmured softly, nuzzling into him as she felt his warmth seep into her. Every last worry that she had melted away as she realized she had someone else she could confide in now.
“M’lady,” Adrien spoke quietly back, causing her to sniffle happily.
Eventually, they both pulled back, staring back at each other with wide, adoring smiles fixed on their faces. Just as Adrien opened his mouth to speak, a crash sounded outside on the streets. Both of their gazes snapped to the window before they looked back at each other. A silent understanding filled them both as they nodded at each other.
“Later,” Marinette spoke first, before calling on her transformation. Adrien did the same and she felt relief fill her as she felt less alone for the first time in so long. She could do this. With him by her side, she could do anything.

Napping
Day 28 is done!! But there’s only two more days of Adrienette April D:. Marichat May is just around the corner tho so if you like that ship stay tuned for more haha <3. Anywho, lemme know what you think of this chapter :)
AO3
Marinette yawned loudly, struggling to keep her eyes open. There had been two akuma attacks last night making it so that she barely got three hours of sleep. Hawkmoth must be trying to kill her because paying attention in class was next to impossible. She could only sometimes make out what Mlle. Bustier was saying because most of her thoughts were focused on sleep.
Marinette barely even registered the sound of the bell ringing that signaled the end of the day. Her eyes had fully shut as she leaned her head on her fist, snoring lightly. A shake of her shoulder and a voice calling her name were the only things that made her blink her eyes open blearily. She then gave the boy above her a blissful smile, only barely awake. Sighing lightly, she said his name sleepily, “Adrien.”
“Are you alright, Marinette?” he frowned down at her with worry. “You look tired.”
She bobbed her head up and down, smacking her lips together. Eventually, she murmured, “Mhm. No sleep. Akumas.”
Adrien’s face seemed to light up with realization and understanding. He chuckled lightly, running a hand through her hair that she leaned into. “Yeah, I know what that’s like. Does Hawkmoth just have so much free time on his hands that he thinks it’s okay to send akumas out at ungodly hours?”
Instead of responding, Marinette simply tugged him down into her seat. She snuggled into his side, placing her head on his shoulder as she sighed happily. Once content and warm, she quickly went back into her most recent dream. She didn’t notice Adrien’s exhalation of shock nor the soft look he sent her.
The two stayed like that for a while, content to remain next to each other. Eventually, Adrien pulled out his phone and grimaced at the time. Guiltily, he slowly shook Marinette awake again. “Marinette, we need to go soon. It’s getting late.”
“Don’t wanna,” she mumbled, pressing her face even more into his shoulder. “Gimme five more minutes.”
Once again, she missed the adoring smile that he sent her, still lost in a dream filled with pastries and a certain model. Marinette squeezed his arm gently with a contented sigh. There they sat for another few moments, neither of the two willing to move. Adrien even felt his own eyes start to get heavy, a part of him longing to just close his eyes and make up the lost sleep from the most recent akuma attacks.
Just as he slowly started to drift off, his phone buzzed in his hands. Adrien grimaced down at the text before he looked over at Marinette again. Slowly and rather ashamedly, he shook her shoulder once again. Quietly, he murmured, “I need to go now, Marinette. My bodyguard is here.”
With that, she yawned loudly, her eyes slowly opening to look at him. A large, warm smile stretched across her face as she stared at the boy in front of her. Slowly, Marinette frowned as she squeezed his arm once again. At that, she was fully awake, her eyes wide open as she scrambled away from him. “Adrien! Oh my god, I’m so sorry! I-I was freaming, I-I mean dreaming and I didn’t realize you were actually there! I-I thought you were still my dream.”
He gave her a teasing smile in response. “Dream about me often then?”
Marinette squeaked at that, her whole face turning red as her mouth opened and closed repeatedly. Her palms itched to smack her forehead, wishing that she had never gotten so sleepy at the end of class. Realizing something, she blinked around at the empty classroom. Her frown deepened as she murmured, “Where is everyone?”
“It’s the end of the day, Marinette,” Adrien said, his green eyes twinkling at her playfully. “Everyone’s gone home already. I noticed you sleeping and wanted to wake you up but I don’t think that turned out too well.”
He chuckled rather sheepishly, rubbing the back of his neck as he peered at her. Marinette’s cheeks flushed even deeper, embarrassment coursing through her. She scrubbed a hand down her face, cursing Hawkmoth in her mind. With a quick shake of her head, she got rid of any last ounce of sleepiness. Quickly, she pulled up her backpack, mumbling, “Right. I’m sorry if I made you late at all, Adrien. I didn’t mean to fall asleep on you. I really was very tired.”
“It’s alright, Marinette,” Adrien chuckled before nudging her shoulder. “It’s happened before, remember?”
At the mention of their experience on the Startrain, Marinette tittered nervously. She was never going to live this down, was she? And, for that matter, how was she going to get any sleep tonight when the memory of being in his arms was etched into her brain? Standing up anxiously, she turned to look at him anxiously. “W-well, thank you for waking me up, Adrien. If you hadn’t I don’t know what I’d do.”
“It was no problem, Marinette,” he winked. “I’ll see you tomorrow, so try and get some more sleep tonight.”
He patted her on the shoulder and she watched him leave with a happy sigh. How could he be so sweet and so charming? It just wasn’t fair on her heart. Giving her head another quick shake, Marinette left the classroom as well only to bump into her best friend.
Alya squealed happily, shaking her shoulders as she said, “What happened in there, girl?! Tell me everything! Did you really fall asleep on his shoulder?”
Blinking at her friend’s ambush, she eventually realized what they were talking about. Marinette crossed her arms, glaring at Alya. “You mean you were here the whole time and you didn’t wake me up yourself? Why not?!”
Her best friend looked a little sheepish before she said, “Well, I was about to but Adrien said he could do it. Besides, you should have seen some of the looks he sent you while you were sleeping! I think he’s crushing hard!”
“Really?” she bit her lip shyly, feeling butterflies flutter happily in her stomach.
“Mhm,” Alya screeched, bobbing her head up and down before lifting up her phone. “I even managed to snap a picture!”
Marinette gasped in shock at the image Alya was showing her. She was nuzzled up into Adrien’s side, a soft smile on her face as she slept quietly. He was looking down at her so softly that it caused her butterflies to dance around even faster. Nibbling on her lip, she squealed, “Can you please send me that right now?”
“So, all is forgiven?” Alya asked with a small smirk.
“Yes, yes!” Marinette giggled, “But only if I can have that photo!”
The two girls laughed loudly together before the picture was sent and she could smile down at it happily. Maybe, the two akumas last night weren’t so bad. Maybe they did happen for a reason. Clutching her phone to her chest tightly, she couldn’t wait to fall back asleep again tonight.

Cuddles
Day 29 is donee!! And that leaves only one more day of Adrienette April D: D:. Ima miss themmm! I hope you guys like this chapter tho <3. It’s another post-reveal, pre-relationship bc it’s my fave hehhe
AO3
Marinette lifted an eyebrow curiously at the boy who had just flopped into her lap. Slowly, a smile formed on her lips as she stared down at Adrien who looked up at her rather pitifully. She put down her sketchbook, running her hands through his hair and watching as his eyes fluttered closed.
How can he be so cute? He’s too adorable for his own good. It makes getting over him absolutely impossible, Marinette sighed in her mind. Cuddling him closer, she murmured, “Long day, kitty?”
Adrien simply nodded with a long exhale. “Yep. I had an awful, long photoshoot today and then I had to go to fencing practice and do my tutoring after that.”
He huffed, his blonde hair swaying slightly as he pouted rather sulkily. Unable to stop herself from giggling lightly, she ruffled his blonde curls. “Well, at least you were able to come over.”
He immediately brightened, looking up at her with a brilliant grin that caused her heart to stutter in her chest. His emerald eyes then glimmered at her mischievously as his grin turned into a smirk. “You’re absolutely right! And all I had to do was tell my father that we had a group project I needed to study for.”
Marinette threw her head back in a laugh, scratching right where his ears would be if he was transformed. Her eyes had closed due to her giggles so she missed the rather silly, lovestruck smile Adrien sent her. Eventually, when she calmed down, she looked down at him, biting her lip to stop her wide smile from getting too big. “You know, sometimes I wonder how it took me so long to figure out your identity. It’s so obvious that you’re Chat Noir.”
Adrien chuckled before purring at her, “That’s because I was purrfect at hiding my identity from you, m’lady. You, not so much.”
“What do you mean?” she frowned, feeling slightly offended. There were many times that she went to great lengths to keep her identity safe. How could he say that she wasn’t good at hiding it?
“Well,” he started with a shrug. “I had strong suspicions that it was you from the very beginning. In fact, if it wasn’t for the Multimouse incident I would have probably figured it out a long time ago.”
“Ah, yes, Multimouse,” Marinette said, rolling her eyes. “Where I managed to come up with a way to produce two of me and you just acted like you didn’t know what type of school it was.”
Adrien laughed before wiggling his eyebrows at her. “But it worked, didn’t it?”
Rolling her eyes again with a fond smile, she flicked him lightly on the forehead. “You’re such a dork.”
“But I’m your dork,” he said, giving her a goofy grin.
Marinette’s heart raced with that declaration. Did he have any idea what he did to her? Sometimes, she wished she could fluster him even half as much as he flustered her.
Adrien then pouted, nudging into her hand which had paused from its previous track in his hair. Giggling quietly, she resumed her ministrations, enjoying the way that he cuddled even closer to her. If only she could brush a soft kiss against his lips. It would make this moment that much more perfect.
They sat in silence for a few minutes before a small furrow appeared between his brows. Glancing to the side, he murmured, “I remember how disappointed I was after I saw Multimouse, though.”
Marinette blinked at him in surprise. “What do you mean? Why were you disappointed?”
“Because it really did mean that Ladybug wasn’t you.” Adrien shrugged, his lips pursing.
Shock flooded through her as she tensed up. He noticed immediately, gazing up at her with a look of concern. He called her name hesitantly which snapped her out of her daze. Marinette looked down at him seriously, asking her question rather pointedly, “You were disappointed when you thought that Ladybug wasn’t me?”
“Yeah,” Adrien blinked like he didn’t quite understand why she was so shocked.
“Why?” She shook her head in confusion as she searched his gaze, wondering if she could somehow find the answer in his eyes.
“Well,” Adrien’s cheeks flushed as he gestured to her. “Because you’re you and I couldn’t imagine Ladybug being anyone else.”
Marinette gulped before stuttering, “E-even back then?”
“Of course,” he said simply, “You’re amazing, Marinette. I’ve known that for a while now.”
She let out a startled squeak and before she was able to stop herself, her lips pressed against his lightly. Immediately, she scrambled back though, jostling him from her lap as she fell onto the floor. Grimacing, she began stuttering out apologies, “Oh my god, I am so so sorry, Adrien. I-I don’t know why I did that. I know you’re over me and that was entirely my fault. Please, please forgive me.”
Adrien’s eyes which had closed during the quick kiss, immediately popped open once she said that. He frowned down at her before slowly sliding from her chaise to join her on the floor. Cautiously, he asked. “You think I’ve gotten over you?”
Marinette’s mouth fell open at that. Clearing her throat, she asked, “W-well, haven’t you?”
Slowly, he shook his head and her mouth dropped open even wider at that. He couldn’t be serious? Could he? She was about to ask him another question, when he beat her to it. “Didn’t you get over me?”
Her whole face flamed as she shook her head rapidly. Her heart thundered in her ears as she gnawed on her lower lip. Marinette peered over at him nervously as Adrien drew even closer to her, cupping her cheek lightly. She leaned into his palm as her eyes fluttered closed.
Quietly, he murmured, “You don’t ever need to apologize for kissing me, Marinette. In fact, I was wondering if we could do it again?”
She squeaked, barely able to nod before their lips connected again. Her nose bumped lightly against his as she immediately wrapped her arms around him. She tilted her head, deepening the kiss as she nibbled at his bottom lip. Adrien sighed into her lips as tingles raced up and down her spine.
Eventually, she pulled back for air, gasping for breath as she looked over at him. His cheeks were flushed and his eyes were still closed as he smiled brightly. Butterflies roared to life in her chest as Marinette laughed. “We really are idiots, aren’t we?”
Adrien’s eyes opened as he beamed directly at her. “Most of the time, yes we are.”
Throwing herself back into his arms, she hugged him tightly. Leaning in, she left another light peck on his lips as she murmured, “I hope you know I’m never letting you go again.”
“Please don’t,” Adrien whispered before connecting their lips in a much longer kiss.

Tutoring
Eep sorry this is kinda late!! I was rewatching The Princess and the Frog hehe. I hope you enjoy this chapter <3. Also, have you guys seen Lies yet?!! That episode broke my heartttt. I feel soo bad for Kagami and Luka. The Ladynoir thooo this is their season isn’t it haha.
AO3
Marinette nibbled on her lower lip before hesitatingly pressing the button to ring Adrien’s doorbell. She finally found the time to take the Mandarin lessons he had promised to help her with in Shanghai. Of course, that didn’t help the thoughts of her and Adrien doing anything besides the tutoring they were meant to be doing. Shaking her head, Marinette closed her eyes tightly as she felt a light blush flood her cheeks.
Before her dreams could go any further, however, Nathalie’s voice cut into a daydream of Adrien slowly leaning across the table to kiss her. “Yes?”
“Oh, uh, uh,” she stuttered before rocking back and forth on her feet with a wide smile, “I-I’m here for um, Adrien. Uh, h-he was going to teach me Mandarin today.”
“One moment,” Nathalie said before the camera disappeared.
There was a small buzz before the mansion gates swung open. Blinking slightly, Marinette cautiously stepped through the gate, walking nervously up to the front door. Her arm raised to knock on the door when it flew open. Her mouth fell in surprise as she looked up at Nathalie.
Quickly, she lowered her arm and gave the woman a bright grin. “Hello!”
“Hello,” Nathalie nodded back at her before speaking decisively, “You are to be here for an hour and then Adrien will be heading to his fencing lesson. Is that alright?”
“O-of course!” Marinette shifted slightly on her feet. “I don’t want to take up any more time than necessary.”
Sucking in a deep breath of courage, she finally spotted Adrien over Nathalie’s shoulder. Instantly, she felt more relaxed as he gave her a bright grin and a friendly wave. Giving him a small, shy smile back, she stepped around Gabriel’s assistant and raced up to greet him.
“Marinette, you’re here,” Adrien’s grin got wider. “I’m so glad you could make it!”
“M-me too.” She ducked her head with a small blush. “I-I’m actually really excited to do this. I’ve always wanted to learn Mandarin.”
“And I can’t wait to help with that!” He nudged her shoulder slightly and her blush got darker. Looking away from her, Adrien turned to Nathalie who was still staring up at the two, and he then spoke again, “Don’t worry, Nathalie. I’ll make certain to keep an eye on the clock so we don’t go over schedule.”
Instead of responding, she simply gave a firm nod before immediately walking away, her heels clicking against the tiled floor. Marinette finally released a tense sigh, not noticing Adrien was bending down until he practically whispered in her ear, “She can be a little intimidating, huh?”
Marinette jumped, scrambling away and almost falling down the stairs before Adrien grabbed her arm and pulled her back towards him. Her hand fell against his chest as she stared up into his brilliant, worried green eyes. Feeling her cheeks flush a deep red, she pushed herself away slower this time, taking care to not fall down the stairs.
Nibbling on her lip, she murmured, “S-sorry.” Sucking in a deep breath, Marinette looked back up at him and answered his question, “B-but no, I don’t think she’s that intimidating. I’m just worried about taking up too much of your free time. I don’t want your lessons with me to be too much of a burden.”
Adrien looked at her with surprise before he let out a quiet chuckle, rubbing the back of his neck. “Marinette, you could never be a burden. I offered to tutor you, remember? Besides, I’d rather be spending hours here with you then another second alone in this house.”
Marinette blinked a few times as her heart stuttered in her chest. Adrien wanted to spend hours with her?! How was she meant to function after that little tidbit of information? She opened her mouth but could barely release more than a small squeak before Adrien grabbed onto her hand, squeezing it lightly.
Tugging on it, he led her up to his bedroom with a gentle smile. “Now we should hurry up and go before we really lose track of time. We should probably get a little bit of studying in before my fencing lesson starts.”
Simply nodding, Marinette let him lead her towards the couch. Eventually, when she snapped back into the present-day, she turned to him with a grateful grin. “I-I almost forgot to thank you for this, Adrien. I just know this is gonna be really useful in the future.”
“No problem, Marinette.” He rubbed the back of his neck shyly before he turned to the sheets of paper that were lined up on his table. He carefully straightened them before handing her the first sheet. Adrien scooted closer to her, leaning over her shoulder as he pointed at some of the notes on the sheet, “So, these are some introduction words I figured we should start with. Some of these are probably words you already know, but they’re words you’ll use the most. I thought we’d work on pronunciation first and then I’ll teach you how to draw and read the symbols.”
Oh, this was such a bad idea. Why had she thought she could handle this?! Adrien’s shoulder was brushing against hers with every word he spoke. Struggling to pay attention to his words and not stare at him adoringly, Marinette nodded as he went over the words on the list.
Eventually, she straightened up with a slow blink when he said, “So, are you ready to try pronouncing some of them?”
Giving him a nervous smile, she attempted to do just that. She wasn’t even surprised when Adrien had to correct her on the first pronunciation, enunciating the words once again for her. The more that she listened to him, however, the easier it became to relax. At some point, Marinette barely even noticed his presence as she sunk into his words and teaching.
The minutes blended and the hour passed by in such a blur, that neither of the teenagers noticed when a knock sounded on the door. When Nathalie entered and cleared her throat, however, they sprang apart, their heads snapping to the assistant. She looked at Marinette before turning to stare at Adrien pointedly. “It’s time for your fencing lesson.”
“Oh, right,” he gasped, giving Marinette a sheepish smile, “Sorry, I lost track of time. I just had such a great time teaching you. You pick things up very quickly, Marinette.”
She flushed prettily but stood up when she heard Nathalie clear her throat again. Adrien stood up with her and she shot a glance at his assistant. Quickly, she embraced him before brushing a small kiss on his cheek. “Thank you so much again, Adrien. I think the only reason I learned so quickly was because you were my teacher.”
His shocked expression turned into a radiant smile as he rubbed the back of his neck. “Only because you were a fantastic student.”
“S-so, um, does next week work for you?” Marinette tapped her fingers together as she felt her face heat up.
“That sounds perfect, Marinette.” He grinned at her. Biting her lip shyly, she turned to begin walking out of his room and down the stairs when she heard him scramble after her. Blinking over at him, she paused where she stood when Adrien shouted, “Wait!”
Looking at her sheepishly, he nodded at the stairs. “I can walk you out since we’re both leaving now.”
“O-oh. That’d be great!”
Butterflies fluttering furiously in her stomach, Marinette wished that they had more time as they walked outside together. Giving him one last final wave, she watched him slide into his limo before walking outside the mansion’s gates. With a lovestruck sigh, she whispered, “I swear, I’m gonna marry that boy someday.” With those last, parting words, Marinette watched Adrien’s limo leave the mansion before she turned around to head back home, already looking forward to next week.
